  1. hindu mythology examples are taken in gurbani by guru sahib ji to explain

the point of viewclearly, so whosoever does teeka is bound to describe these,

further any new ideology takes influence from the existing ones , hence to

explain our point of view the we can use examples from mythology or

    the folklore

  2. Well, just for emphasizing our point over others we discuss a word

far too long.We have to give respect to some person who is able to ,

and does guide us for attaining proximity to God , the Almighty , we

have to use some word to respect him , what word one uses better

leave it to him .Be it sant, mahapurush or some other , why waste our

time in such trivialities and not do what we should - naam simran

sorry if some one feels offended

    wjkk wjkf

  3. blessed is the person in this world,

who on his mouth has the name of god and war(with evil) in his mind

The human body in destructible , not permanant

so with these attributes(shown above) he rides the

boat of good deeds to cross the sea of univerese

and leads towards unison with the Almighty

HE(such person ) has the weapon of Gyan in his hand

to cut the cowardice ( & cleanup th emind )from the soul

  4. 1 - to understand real meaning , we should refer and imbibe meaning fully

by reading and understanding the meaning of the rahao tuk as it is the

central idea of the shabad all lines are extensions to clarify the meaning of

    the central idea .

2 When ever we read and try to understand gurbani , we should remember

that it is expressed to motivate us towards prabhubhakti , hence all shabads

are indirectly addressed to US , whether the lines say - sunahu ri loi,

ri loi, kahu Nanak , sunahu man merey etc

in the same vein the Bhagat ji is addressing really to us , the readers , that

with serving and Listening to the teachings of the true sants shall we

reach the Goal of our life

  5. It is very easy to drift away from the main topic of discussion, the topic is

is it proper to do kirtan with dharnas - and I see ppl fighting over word SANT

I REUEST EVERY BODY TO PLEASE express views about the main question

and plz do not start slandering the ppls (with whom we donot have

    common views )

Yes we have been listening shabads with Dharnas , even 40 ysr ago in

prabhat feris , then some did kirtan in a style called Jottiya de shabad

where each line was recited twice with dholki and cheines to accompany

    - another prabhat feri style . Then we have ragis singing in simple tunes ,

singing in semi classical and pure classical and also in shudh raags

there are many styles , even during my tour to south india I came across a ragi

jatha who have trained very well in carnatic(south indian style ) music and they

sang shabads in such a good manner that even local south indians listened

    them with full attention .

In sikhi ( as I think ) kirtan is a way to reach in unison with the God , it is a way

not the Manzi l(the aim) , So any style which leads us towards Guru & finally

with almighty is proper. We can adopt any style to our liking , till it leads to

    our aim

THIS IS THE EXACT LINE AND HERE IS THE MEANING AS PER FGURU GRANTH SAHIB DARPAN

  7. THIS IS A RAAG TO BE SUNG AT NOON AS PER CLASSICAL BOOKS , GANDHAR TYPE

GRAH SUR GANDGAR, VAADI PANCHAM , SAMVADI MADYAM, WITH SHADAJ , RISHAB

MADYAM PANCHAM & NISHAD SHUDH, GANDHAR & DHAIVAT KOMAL

SARGAM - SAA RE MA MA PA DHA SAA DHA NA PA MA GA MA RE SAA

ACTUALLY THE WORD GOND IS NAME OF TRIBE NATIVE OF CENTRAL INDIA

BUT THE RELATION BETWEEN TRIBE AND THE RAAG HAS NOT BEEN FOUND BY ME ANYWHERE

  8. i feel they have archived hukamnama (to be more appropriate , furmans )

from DARbar sahibs with explanations and commentary , datewise

that is a nice service, donation is voluntary , maintaining site or blogger

and daily updating requires some resources , so what is bad in expecting

    voluntary contributions ?

PRAYER SERvices are organised by almost all faiths online and on bOX

SO IT IS OK IF DONE HERE, IF ONE DOES NOT LIKE THE PAID PRAYERS

even I myself find it unacceptable , why should we resist , if it helps in

    bringing people to the faith

In the end let every one do the Sewa his own way , and we do our way

thanx, sorry to those who feel my views offending

    FATEH

  9. why do we forget that our faith does not approve the concept of avtaars

at many places in gurbanis the so called avtaars have been proved to

be as human as we .

the idea of the avtaar kathas in dasam granth is only to acquain us about

the tenets of hinduism only (for comparative purpose ) . We should not draw

ourselves into it , We are the worshippers of the Supreme powewr only

thanks , sorry if someone feels offended , but the facts wont change

    FATEH

  10. This was revealed in an interviews on some tV in London.

Spokesman just repeated that and has become a source of

    reference.

that was interview of Giani Iqbal Singh of Patna Sahib , who criticizes even

Akal takhat every now and then , and openly challanges th eSikh Maryada

adopted by Akal Takhat & SGPC

  11. Every word in the post is absolutely true .Even the raagis & pracharaks of

SGPC have to pay to SGPC a part of their income from abroad while on tour

to west, also they have to do muthi garam of every employee at SGPC WHO

is any way connected in clearing his file , then the sponsoring Gurdwara in UK

has to be compensated , and , we can imagine the quality of such ragis & granthis .

Cannot say why gurdwaras with high revenues do not employ trained & educated

granthis .In my lifespan extending app half century I have not come across a single

pracharak or granthi who is well versed in philosophy or comparative religion .

the reason as said in above post is obvious , and the result is visible in the new .

generation who are drifting away from faith. the voluntary work alone is not sufficient

to get back the youth , at gurdwara we must have qualified granthi who can answer

logically to the querries of the young people , and that cannot happen unless we

    pay them handsomely

  12. Even if there's two groups there's one single issue and that is what should a true Gurdwara should be. That is where you can get the two sides. One who would support a more sikhi way and promote sikhi to other generations and reform the gurdwara system in place, or you have a basic gurdwara and it's pretty much a country club where all the sikhs can meet up. In the case with Rochester there are two groups, one who wants to promote sikhi and spread it in gurdwara, a side that I myself would choose or you are satisfied that it's a club and you can just go there and have fun. so this sikhi group goes in a spreads sikhi to everyone, now everything was going fine before and the people in power aka those who dont want to change, we will label them "mahants". they dont want to change their lifestyle which i mean stop drinking liquor and grow back their hair and tie a turban they just want to come to gurdwara, perhaps collect the money the sangat has left for the guru and go home. Now the other sikhs just want to spread sikhi to the local sangat, and then you get the conflict where the mahants dont want them spreading Sikhism and taking over their "clubhouse" and turning it to a gurdwara, they are seeing these Sikhs as a threat. since these Sikhs are mostly amritdhari why not just ban kirpans from gurdwara and that would easily solve this issue. it's obvious they would ban kirpans since none of them are amritdhari and dont even see the point of wearing a kirpan. They take these sikhs to court make the kirpan look bad in front of the judge and now you have the banning of kirpan from a sikh gurdwara. This is what happened in rochester and many other similar cases are happening throughout many gurdwaras in the usa. This is a disease slowly spreading to many gurdwaras and it's up to sikhs to make the right decision and stop these mahants and their ideologies from destroying our gurdwaras.

if that is happening in many guru ghars , are we sleeping? getup do some thing
