"O human being, whatever you can see with your eyes, shall perish.

The world eats dead carcasses, living by neglect and greed. ((Pause))

Like a goblin, or a beast, they kill and eat the forbidden carcasses of meat.

So control your urges, or else you will be seized by the Lord, and thrown into the tortures of hell"

    Ang 723

"You kill living beings, and call it a righteous action.

Tell me, brother, what would you call an unrighteous action?

You call yourself the most excellent sage; then who would you call a butcher? ((2))"

    Ang 1103

"Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false.

Those who do not contemplate them are false.

You say that the One Lord is in all, so why do you kill chickens? ((1)) "

    Ang 1350

"Kabeer, they oppress living beings and kill them, and call it proper.

When the Lord calls for their account, what will their condition be? ((199)) "

    Ang 1375

"Telling lies, they eat dead bodies. And yet, they go out to teach others.

They are deceived, and they deceive their companions. O Nanak, such are the leaders of men. ॥1॥"

    Ang 139

"To take what rightfully belongs to another, would be like a Muslim eating pork, or a Hindu eating beef.

Our Guru, our Spiritual Guide, stands by us, if we do not eat those carcasses.

By mere talk, people do not earn passage to Heaven. Salvation comes only from the practice of Truth.

By adding spices to forbidden foods, they are not made acceptable.

O Nanak, from false talk, only falsehood is obtained. ॥2॥"

    Ang 141

"In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, people have faces like dogs; they eat rotting carcasses for food.

They bark and speak, telling only lies; all thought of righteousness has left them"

    Ang 1242

"Kabeer, those mortals who consume marijuana, fish and wine

    - no matter what pilgrimages, fasts and rituals they follow, they will all go to hell. ॥233॥"

    Ang 1377

"The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom. What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin? It was the habit of the gods to kill the rhinoceros, and make a feast of the burnt offering. Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night. They practice hypocrisy, and make a show before other people, but they do not understand anything about meditation or spiritual wisdom. O Nanak, what can be said to the blind people? They cannot answer, or even understand what is said."

    Ang 1289

The final word is stated in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Meat is not allowed in Sikhism no matter what Jathebandi's say or fellow Sikhs might say. One cannot be a proper Sikh and eat meat or cut hair.

    I hope this helped

  3. I agree with the posts above somewhat, but maybe it is due to popularity? Looking at a western perspective, the Non Sikhs believe that a person is well groomed after a shave and looks "good." So maybe that is why ram krishna and shiva haven't been given a beard on tv, for a more groomed look. I dont know I may be way off track but I have seen many pics with shiva with a beard.

  4. last time i checked i was a western punjabi youth, and sikhism means ALOT to me. lol tongue.gif

    LOL same here.

But anyways I do agree a lot with this post. But then again I had some cousins come here from India and they were shocked to see that youth actually went to the Gurdwara on New Years Eve and dont just party. They thought Gurdwara was for Old people. I was shocked when they didn't know what the Anand Sahib Path was. But then again they were from Chandigarh which is different from the rest of Punjab.

  5. Anyways in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, Guru Ji writes:

Kaljug ke antah samai sat(i)jug laagad aadh|| Deenan kirachchhaadleee dhar(i) hai roop anaad||

At the end of the Iron Age and by the very beginning of Satyuga, the Lord will incarnate Himself for the protection of the lowly,

    Page 1150

Sat(i)jug aadh kaljug antah|| Jah jah aanand sant mahantah|| Jah jah gadvat bajaavat taalee|| Naachat Shivjihasat javaalee||557||

After the end of Kalyuga (the Iron Age), Satyuga (the Age of Truth) came and the saints enjoyed bliss everywhere; they sang and played their musical instruments; Shiva and Parvati also laughed and danced.557.

    Page 1189

Tah lau kaljugadnt niyraayo|| Jah tah bhed sabhan sun paayo|| Haahaa maadho Kalkibaat tabai pahchaanee|| Sat(i)jug kiaagadtaa jaanee||552||

Then the end of the Iron Age came very near and all came to know about this mystery; the Kalki incarnation comprehended this mystery and felt that Satyuga was about to begin.552.

    Page 1189

So according to this it seems that the yugs go in a cycle. However I might be taking a wrong interpretation of the Kalki Avtar, please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, in this Katha, Baba Hari Singh Ji describes the end of Kalyug and does Katha of the Kalki Avtar.

  6. Guru nanak dev ji in his past incarnation did bahgti in mani sahib (I'm not sure if I spelt it write but in that place there are a lot of hot springs there. Also there is a gurdwara there but it is not known for guru nanak's past tap) for 36 Jugs. This has not been discovered yet but will one day....

Guru gobind singh ji did bhagti for 4 jugs at hemkunt sahib and past incarnation was dust daman. Dust daman's satguru was a rishi. Dust Daman ate ice and snow as food. While guru nanak dev ji in his past incarnation ate rehta (stones) as food.

Guru nanak dev ji japped ram ram in samadhi for 36 yugs, in this current jug he combined all the mantars together to get waheguru.

ALSO I HAVE BEEN GIVEN HUKUM TO REVEAL ANOTHER FACT, WHICH IS THIS AGE IS THE LAST. SATJUG WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN..... SO GET OUT OF THE GAME OTHERWISE GOD KNOWS WHEN YOU WILL GET A CHANCE TO GET MANUKA JANAM AGIAN. THERE MAY BE A NEW ERA BUT NO AGE AFTER THIS...

Also there are so many sakhi's and facts that are so AMAZING that have been forgotten over time... But hukum nahi he

Veerji if you dont mind me asking, where are you getting all of this from?

  7. That vid is aload of bs. Where does singhrow live? Anywhere singhs live they run things there not sacred and we all stick together. At school (leicester 80s -90s never no) kalas or muslim or hindus or whites messed bullied with singhs. They knew the score. At school all sikhs looked !fter each other all (most were mone), never let anyone bully a sardar. They were the face of our quam.

That might be true where you are at gurdssingh veerji but where I'm at, we have a lot of "Singhs" who are pappus. They keep getting bullied and usually they get frustrated and decide to cut thier hair. Like thats gonna make them stronger. But yeah we have a lot of boys like that.

  8. Sant jee are in England at the moment for this week. I think some of the questions above have already been answered by Neo Singh in his audios which he recorded a while ago.

These have been answered previously i think :

What if a person is not an Amritdhari Gursikh, can they still attain Sach Khand? Or will they forever be subject to their karam?

-Is doing paathh the same as naam simran?

I had the same questions. Could someone please post the link to the audio or tell me where it is so I can find it?

    Thanks

  9. Maybe you are sick, take some medicine. Will you fanatics stop behaving like Muslims and look at reality. Just because she is modeling you throw her out of Sikhism.

Okaayy then maybe Hard Kaur isn't bad at all, and Mandira Bedi's tattoo was normal too.

    Here brother listen to this:

    http://www.youtube.c...h?v=FJXi4dKOmjA

Maybe you'll change your mind about this. And this isn't Muslim mentality this is Modesty which everyone woman should possess. Whether she is a Hindu, Christian, Muslim or a Sikh. There is nothing wrong about modeling, she can do anything she wants to but dont bring Sikhi into it.

  10. Cant blame kuriya for this. Its up to paghwale mundeh to sort themselves out, grow a backbone and behave like proper men. No point moaning about how life is so unfair and you cant get a job or a woman etc...

Noones gonna give you anything on a plate, you gotta go out there and prove that your the best and if you dont marry a proper sardar you are losing out.

Dont play the victim card. Lots of Singhs have no problems getting married and have beautiful wives and beautiful kids.

Being a girl, I agree with everything on this post.

  11. You are right I was wrong about Guru Hargobind. However, I still consider having Guru Tegh Bahadur give his head a loss. After all, the only winners from this were the Muslim rulers because they got rid of someone they considered a nuisance. It didn't put a dent in muslim tyranny at the time, and it didn't do a single thing to stop muslim tyranny in later years. A real victory would have been the end of mughal rule (similar to how muhammad ended pagan rule in saudi arabia).

The assassination of Guru Gobind was not addressed.

I'm not an expert on Christianity, but according to Christians, Jesus had to die violently in order to pay for the sins of humanity. Thus, it is only because of Jesus that salvation can be obtained (according to them) because he paid for man's original sin. Also, they feel Jesus came back to life 3 days after he died on the crucifix.

I'll be honest, the reason why I didnt address Guru Gobind Singh Ji's death was because I had nothing to say about it since I never doubted my Guru or his actions. But I went and did some research and this is what I found. I thought I'd share it with you since you were questioning it.

"While all were mourning the loss of the Guru, a Sikh arrived and said, " You suppose that the Guru is dead. I met him this very morning riding his bay horse. After bowing to him when I asked whither he was going, he smiled and replied that he was going to the forest on a hunting excursion."The Sikhs who heard this statement arrived at the conclusion that it was all the Guru's play, that he dwelt in uninterrupted bliss, that he showed himself wherever he was remembered. He who treasures even a grain of the Lord's love in his heart, is the blessed one and the Guru reveals himself to such a devotee in mysterious ways. Wherefore for such a Guru who had departed bodily to Heaven, there ought to be no mourning."

    http://sikhee.com/guru-gobind-singh.html

Each religion has its own rules and history. Our history is gruesome but it reminds us to remember Waheguru at all times. A Sikh is a Brave Saint Soldier. Our Guru's proved it with the way they accended to sachkhand. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's shaheedi exemplified how we should love all of humanity not just Sikhs. He gave his head for a religion who's beliefs he opposed. And Mughul Raaj was demolished when Khalsa Raaj flourished. I haven't studied Islam, so I cannot comment on Muhammad. But Khalsa is distinct. So its history won't have similarities with other religions.

  12. Gurus lost when:

Guru Har Gobind was executed by Mughals

Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed by Mughals

Guru Gobind Singh was stabbed by a muslim assassin which eventually led to his death

I consider these losses not victories in the battle against muslim tyranny. Yes, nothing is permanent but the manner in which people die also matters. My question is if God favored them then why did they die such violent deaths? Why did they suffer so much when men like muhammad didn't?

From what I know, after the battle of Kartarpur, Guru HarGobind Sahib Ji moved to Kiratpur where again he was attacked. However he succeded to cross the Sutlej river and make it to Kiratpur where he spent 10 years of his life and acceded to Sachkhand in 1644. So then how was Guru Ji executed by Mughals?

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji gave his head for humanity. Hence the name Hind Di Chadar. He willingly went to the Mughal leaders, he knew what atrocities him and Bhai Sati Das, Bhai Mati Das, and Bhai Dayal Das were to face. Guru Ji set another example for Sikhs to not back away and willingly give Shaheedi which was followed by Sikhs as Bhai Taru Singh and Banda Singh Bahadur.

By the way, Jesus also died a violent death being crucified and still Christians believe that he was sent by God. So then why didn't God save him?

  13. If the Sikh Gurus were messengers of God, then why were they always being killed by Moghul forces? Shouldn't God have protected his messengers? I ask because I heard some muslims talking about how muhammad (sp?) was a victorious figure who overcame the odds to win in battle and religion. When I looked up one battle it seems as though muhammad did find himself getting a lot of "breaks" such as an enemy general secretly converting to islam and causing an overwhelming force of muhammad's enemies to flee when muhammad's defeat (and death) seemed certain. These breaks could easily be interpreted as divine intervention by muslims. When the Gurus needed God most God did not intervene. So why did the Sikh Gurus get killed off but Muhammad survived/thrived? If God was really on their side then wouldn't God have intervened like God did for muhammad? This is larger than the question of why bad things happen to good people (which this question could be interpreted as asking), since the Sikh Gurus were not just ordinary people. They were supposed to be carrying God's message.

When did the Guru's lose? And when did God not help them? We won all battles. When were we being killed by Moghul forces? And moreover, Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Zafarnama changed Aurangzeb. Muhammad died didn't he? Not all things are permanent on earth.

  14. Why are we talking about caste?? Beadbi is happening at a Gurdwara and all we're good for is fight over caste and who's better? By saying Jatts are bad it doesnt make you better or bashing other castes doesnt make you better either. No wonder why this is happening. If instead of doing anything all we do is sit here blaming it on castes? Why can't everyone admit that anyone can be at fault. Whether it be Jatts or any other caste.

Man shame on you guys arguing over stupid stuff. How about instead of blaming each other you guys go out and try to stop beadbi happening to Guru Ji. But no because all we are good for is to sit here and argue about which "caste" is to blame.

Gursa Veerji's right. We can't stop it if we just sit here arguing.

    Bhul Chuk Maaf.

  15. all this time you spent arguing on a past issue u cud have spent time doing naam simran

soo did Guru Gobind Singh ji have a go at the mughals as they bricked two of his sons alive and saw two of his sons die in battle? NO!

Uhm actually Guru Gobind Singh Ji did take revenge against the governor of Sirhand by Sending Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji to punish him not just for the execution of the Sahibzadeys and death of Mata Ji but also for the innocent people who were victims under the rule of Mughuls.

If we forget it happened, then its gonna happen again. And why forget everything? What about all those people who have lost loved ones? Why forget anything? We haven't gotten justice. All we get is pappu Manmohan Singh, being a Sikh apoligizing for the attack. Why is he apoligizing? Shouldn't he be on our side?

Its because of passive Sikhs like these that the community gets screwed over by others.
