  1. I know someone with an android phone and has an app caled nitnem on it. It has japjee sahib, jaap sahib, tav prasaad svaiye, chopay sahib, anad sahib, rahiraas sahib, raag mala sahib and keertan sohila.

I was wondering is it ok to have apps like this as is it not a bit disrespectful as when touching a gutka sahib etc. you should have your hands washed and shoes off. Also you would never put it in your pocket or handbag and carry it around, put it near your mouth and talk into it. But a phone is kept in your trouser pocket. It goes everywhere with you. For example supermarkets where alcohol, meat etc is sold. Also for example if you were on the tube and had your phone with this app on it and you were crammed right next to some one with cigarettes in their pocket only the cloth of your clothes seperates the bani from undesirable things for example tobbaco in this scenario. No one would carry a gutka sahib in their pocket like this so why is it ok to have the bani on your phone in an app. Also your phone has many other things on it.

  2. By the way I am not hindu i am Sikh but i am not deluded and say it how it is and want answers not just we are the best religion so you better shut up as you don't know what you are on about. As that is what I do get.

Look I apologise if I seemed offensive. Maybe my punctuation was inccorect. I wanted to state when I say something and ask a question or question something I get the response you better shut up as you do not know what you are on about, as that is what I do get. Maybe I sholud have stated the 'as this is what i do get' first. (I am not just saying on here because it has only happened a few times on this site). Please look up my profile, and look up all my posts. Never have I disrespected our religion. However, I have had those responses for asking valid and in some circumstances factual with evidence questions. I have never offended our religion.

  3. I personally found the uncles ji's on featherstone road very welcoming. I only recently have got into Sikhi I still have a hair cut but they never looked down on me and have been very understanding, as I am married to a none Sikh. They have given my kids free books also.

Obviously with time things change. So if there are people out there who feel they can connect with the kids and perform the gurmat veechar, why do you not contact the Sikh missionary society and offer your seva. Please expalin to them how you can benefit the future generation. The uncles are understanding and their aim is to educate the future generations. If you feel you can perform the task I am sure they will not refuse your help.

With regards to the sarbloh bibeki ban I feel I am in no postioin to comment. I only wanted to highlight the good work of the uncle jis of welcoming all.

  4. What I intended to portray was that OK if singh# feels the banner was taking the mick out of the dastar it was not taking the mick out of Sikhi. That is why I said the turban and the surname were hindu. I feel many members here just look for faults and look for the negative in everything. Singh# posts recently have been nit picking and looking for faults in trivial matters like this and for example the little kids animation / teaching shabads on sikh channel. OK he understood that issue when PJS expalined it to him.

All iam trying to say is you are young I feel you should be a good human and believe in humanity look after all and do not see the negative. Always look for the postive in something. (Obviously there is not one always), but in most cases can there be one? It's hoe you view the subject / issue.

    Your a Hindu anyway

Sorry to disappoint you but I am not a Hindhu. I am a Sikh. However I am not ashamed to admit as it is a fact my forefathers were Hindhu. I am very into genoalegy and have found out. I would not be supprised actually over 95% sure your ancestors were also hindu. (if not then muslim but that is very rare). Research the Census in Punjab. Take considerable notice to the the late 1800's and early 1900's. Look at the number of Sikhs, large increases. Ask yourself why it was.

it was not hindu...it was sanskrit...dharams dont own words

and even if hindus commonly used the name singh..it didnt do them much good..as a whole they are a coward kaum...for nearly a thousand years they were slaves of various islamic states within the sub continent...and they outnumbered the muslims vastly...they could if they wanted to kicked out the islamic rulers quickly ..but not enough of them had a heart of steel...

Of course a religion can not own a word that is just common sense. We talk in a language not a religion.

The second paragraph you wrote is absured and ridiculus.Come on, only a small proportion of hindhus used the surname Singh. Mughals also ruled over the Sikhs aswell. Also who rules the land now? By the way I am not hindu i am Sikh but i am not deluded and say it how it is and want answers not just we are the best religion so you better shut up as you don't know what you are on about. As that is what I do get.

  5. A very influencle sikh mother in law would be Sardarni Sada Kaur. She was married into the Kanhaiya misl, who where one of the most powerful misl's. Her husband was killed in a battle by the Suckerchakia Sardars misl.

Sada Kaur had the persuasive powers to arrange the marriage of her daughter Mehtab Kaur to the Sukherchakia heir the future Maharaja of Punjab. Sardar Ranjit Singh.

Sardarni Sada Kaur may have had many faults but she was the one person who according to history influenced and persuaded Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh to fulfil his destiny. To acheive the prophecy of our beloved Guru i.e. Raj karega Khalsa. When the misldars where contemplating what to do with the ahmed shah abdali (duranni's) ambition of conquering punjab / hindustan (as it was called then), Sada Kaur talked Ranjit Singh into staying and fighting the afghans and protecting the civilans whom they had taken rakhi of. After convincing Ranjit Singh he convinced all of the Misl Sardars and repelled the conquest on more than one occasion.

However, Sada Kaur's nature and character according to history was questionable. So please do the research yourself and get all the facts. However there are many many Sikh females who were great. They did great things, ladies suchs as all the Gurus mothers, sisters and daughters. Another great mother in law would have been Bibi Ramo ji who was Guru Amardas Ji's wife and then when bhai jetha ji married bibi Bhani ji, he became the son in law. Bhai Jetha ji was to be renamed Guru Ram Das Ji, the 4th Guru. So obviously Bibi Ramo Ji must have been one of the greatest mother in law's of all time. Having the honour of being married to a Guru and being the mother in law of a Guru also.

Bhul ckuk marf if anything is wrong it was not with maliace only what I have learnt. Please do correct the thread with inaccrucies.

  6. Firstly enjoy urself. Take medicines with you but imstead of insect repellent, mosqiuto repellent , they dont work u will get bitten take itch resist cream. This way u get bit but wont scratch and cause infection or orration . Chamomile lotion is good but stiff like. E45 itch cream or similar is best.w

  7. Sai baba is not a fake. The afro satya sai baba is a pakhandi making money. Please

Please in future do not slander men of god. Only one sai baba. Afro head satya is a fraud. Its like the term guru it is associated with sikhi but scammers hijack the title to lure followers. So please reasearch sai baba ji shirdi he was a true great soul. Saw no difference between hindu and muslim. I have been to shirdi and performed darshan it is on the sachkand express route to nanded.

  8. I never seen it before but thought it was excellent. At least kids would watch that more so and take it in than a kirtani jatha singing the same shabad. Have you seen some singhs going into frenzy listening to kirtan, there was a link on a thread on this site about it. The kids are just going left and right. I think that was an excellent clip above.

  9. I have also been told that by an admin guy at hazur sahib. He said nasa has many holy scriptures but founs sggs ji the most accurate and show the most respect to sggs ji than the other texts. I d like to think it is true.

  10. Why do Sikh people still go along with this Hindu tradition! Who has been affected by this and believe their lives - would have been better and happier if they married, the one they fell in love with. Please I also want to hear from people who married out of caste and religion too.

No rude comment please....its a honest question. x

I married someone who had a different background to mine. I had no issues at all everyone was happy for us.

  11. THIS IS WHY GIRLS DONT WANNA MARRY SINGHS

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Duys-yUcXyA

That vid is aload of bs. Where does singhrow live? Anywhere singhs live they run things there not sacred and we all stick together. At school (leicester 80s -90s never no) kalas or muslim or hindus or whites messed bullied with singhs. They knew the score. At school all sikhs looked !fter each other all (most were mone), never let anyone bully a sardar. They were the face of our quam.

  12. four kurehits for amritdharis:

    -kesha dee beadbi

    -intoxicants

    -relationships before marriage

    -meat

i am assuming you wouldnt work as a hairdresser, or a barman, or as a doorman at a strip club or something equally as bad.

so the answer is quite clear.

I thought jhatka was allowed only meat thats been sacrifaced halal kosher is a kurehit. Tobbaco consumption is a major kurehit.

  13. In my opinion, Whatever Guroo Saahib Jee is doing is for the best of things. You know this kind of reminds me of a story. A family in India had bought a new truck. They took it to Hazoor Saahib to do ardaas for the new truck. Mistakenly, the Granthi Singh Jee doing the ardaas, did the ardaas that the family had brought the truck as a charraavaah. So the family ended up giving the new truck there, which they had bought with hard earned money. They took train back. When they boarded the train, in their compartment, they found a briefcase, in it was money, totaling double the value of the new truck. As if this wasn't enough, they turned this in to the Rail Police. The Rail Police said if no one claims it, in 30 days, then it is yours, and they will give them a reward for their honesty. In 30 days no one claimed it, and all that money was theirs.

Lesson of the Story: Don't worry if it seems like your brother is taking all of the assets. Just keep faith in Guroo Saahib.

I have a dvd of someone stating this in a katha, i will add the title later. Somegursikh asked for ardas and blessings as he had bought a new jeep. The gaini thought he wanted to charrah the vehcile so stated it in the ardas. As the ardas was performed to god the gursikh donated the keys of the jeep, even though he just wanyed to ask fpr blessings. His intention was not to donate the jeep. But as he went with a true heart he was not bitter. Hetook the train home to punjab on the train someone asked him to look after a breifcase. The person dissapeared so the gursikh went back to sachkand their a baba told him due 2 ur sharda maharaj guru gobind singh ji paid him darshan in the case was the exact money he paid for the jeep. Sorry if this is typed wrong or rough im doing it on my phone and have fat fingers.
