  1. Sorry but you are wrong again, there are non amritdhari women who wear dastar! Some are in prep or some just try wearing or some as I have met in Punjab, who have undergone chemo also wear.

Earlier you post "there is no debate about it", now you state "I don't know", and you would like to find out from her. Please stop making sweeping statements as you come across as very arrogant, a know it all - but you are not.

  2. Wow

We should all connect with almighty on our level, then no need to create intermediaries. Maybe some people are closer to Waheguru than us and have higher connection, they can only guide you, to connect as they have , they can do nothing for you. You have to BE A GOOD PERSON, PRAY, AND MAKE CONNECTION YOURSELF. People pay X amount seva for etc, ummh why, do yourself.

  3. What you mean "don't agree" ? Thats like saying "I know some of you don't agree with murder and rape but..." :stupidme:

There is no debate about the issue. It is not an issue that has different sides of opinion. Everybody, except you, knows that as n amritdhari dastar wearer she can not, under any circumstances, trim her eyebrows / make-up etc. If she wants to do that, thats fine, but she obviously needs to take off the dastar. As you can see from all her photos, she has actually taken off her kirpan and so is actually probably no longer an amritdhari. However, she has chosen to keep the dastar because it is her gimmick / tool for career publicity.

You obviously possess a dodgy dictionary that has a strange definition of the words "same thing" but how exactly are people making it clear they are trimmed non-amritdharis be the "same thing" as someone making it clear they ARE Amritdhari ?

How do you know she had the brows done? Looks like it, but some also have naturally like that ( very few, but it is possible),

Is make up forbidden or frowned upon? How you know she even wore a Kirpan or is amritdhari in the first place, like no males would dare to wear a dastar or trim facial hair if not had Amrit?

  4. Wow the hypocrisy of the likes of some members, who in an instant condemn certain "communities" JSinghNz , sikhiseeker, dalsingh101( getting dissed on Sikh awareness, for your foul language using the f word all the time) - just imagine if this was a thread about the Jatt community? Just check out the 2videos in the op, dancing and drinking and what a song huh by j status! No offence JRoudh (or Rhode, as it was spelt back when Punjabi's wrote in Roman script), I understand what you are doing but please at least be accurate - Bhatra's came here in the 20's when the other Punjabi's had not left Punjab - Huh? Are you for real, ummh in the previous century who do you think was building the railways in Canada / US? Read up on the early pioneers in BC / Cali.

    Edit -Sikh forum NOT POOOONJABI!

  5. http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/3874-media-release-a-special-flight-of-reverence/

A special flight was arranged for pavan swaroops from Punjab to Toronto by the efforts of Sacha Sauda Gurmat Parchar Society in 2004.

Same needs to be done now by gurmukhs of Sacha Sauda Toronto. They go out of their way when it comes to satkar of maharaj.

9.40 ish to 10.10 it looks like the same Sgpc specially designed bus to carry saroops, so just cos majority of the distance was by plane maharaj saroops still travelled in a similar if not the same bus.

    Thanks

But I have to make some corrections to my original post as I have only recently read up on Mongols History.

The Mughals of India where mostly of Turkish origin and were not Mongols . Babur was also not Genghis’s grandson, he was a distant descendant of his. Hope that has cleared some issues up.

Although some Mongols who invaded the Middle East did settle there after ruling these areas. But not in huge number as Mongols didn't usually settle in places they ruled for long as they would usually just decimate the places they attacked then leave. This has also to do with the fact that Mongols did not really go to far into the Islamic empire as they were very far from their homeland in Mongolia. But the places they could reach were all annihilated. Hence not Many Mongols actually settled in the Middle East.

The Mongols were also very family orientated and religious people and liked the environment they lived in. They practiced a religion called shamanism and also Buddhism. But In the empire they never imposed any religion on anyone and even built places of worship for the different religions of the people that were in their empire.

Just to clarify in Sikh history the word Turk refers to mussalman, but specifically to people of Turkmen decent and not Turkish descent. So the people of Central Asia is the word Mughal or Turk refers too. NOT Turkish from Turkey but Turk from Turkmen areas.

  7. Mehtab Singh Jee, are they also related to Chandu Brahmin? I have heard some theories that Indira Gandhi was a re-incarnation of Chandu's daughter who's marriage was refused by Guru Arjan Dev Jee on the orders of Sadh-Sangat (when Chandu Brahmin insulted Guru-ghar by making a derogatory comment at GuruGhar), and she vowed revenge for it, by demolishing Akal Takht Sahib, hence took re-birth ... I don't know how far this crap is truth!

What is the source as Akal Takht was built in 6 pathsahs time, so she knew before or she just avenged revenge.

Also 100/sincere question. I have no hidden agenda - how do we as Sikh quam validate these statements as there are many.

In above statement -how did the person who made the vow have the insight and capability to do it. How did she know, like enhee kamai? How can vows like that be accomplished? Like why Waheguru let an ignorant person fulfil there ego and let it happen?

  8. I am not writing this to hurt anyone's feelings or offend anyone religious sentiments, but only to emphasize the fact that the history of a community reflects its character, personality, thought process and ideals. The philosophy they abide by reflects in whatever acts they do.In Ramayan, Ram Chander needed Sugreev's help in finding Sita. Sugreev however was already grieving as his kingdom and also consort was taken away by his brother Bali. Ram Chander asked Bali to challenge Sugreev in a wrestling combat and that he would shoot Bali with his arrow while they fought. Eventually, Ram Chander killed Bali while he himself hiding. This is where the Indians learnt the art of fake encounters.Further on, Ram killed Ravan after being assisted by Vibheeshan, who was Ravan's own brother. Those who know about the background of Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale will know that his ancestry was Brar Jatt. Now this has absolutely no significance or place in Gurmat, but lets consider this just for a minute to understand the mentality of our foes. We also know the ethnicity of Gen. K.S. Brar. The Indians played the same game. Just like Ram had Vibheeshan to assist him against Ravan, Indira had Gen. Brar to assist her because she and her lot saw Sant Jee as Ravan. Vibheeshan is condemned the same way by Hindus as Gen. Brar is by the Sikh qaum.In Mahabharat, Dronacharya was killed by Draupadi's brother Drushtadyumman after he heard about the false news of his son Ashwathama's death. Drona was so emotionally shattered that he gave up his weapons and sat in meditation right in the battlefield. Thats when Drushtadyumman beheaded him. Such similar lies were spread in the 80s and 90s to weaken the Jujhaaroo leher and damage the kind of support Singhs were getting from the common masses of Punjab, including Hindus. Black cats in the guise of Singhs were used to terrorize, rape, loot and kill Hindus so as to break that trust which many of the common and often poor Hindus of rural Punjab had in the Singhs.Continuing with Mahabharat, Karan was killed by Arjun as he was fixing the wheel of his chariot. Who provoked Arjun? Krishan did! It was clearly against the rules of war as decided to kill/attack anyone unarmed, but he did it anyways. In India, innocent Sikhs were massacred, unarmed men, women, children and even old people were not spared.Krishna had vowed not to pick up arms in the Mahabharat war, but at one point he did pluck out the wheel from Arjun's chariot and was ready to strike Bheesham. Breaking vows is something that has been followed traditionally by the hill Rajas at the time of Dasmesh Pita ji and more recently by Pandit Nehru.Duryodhan was killed treacherously by Bheem. In gada yudh, you are not supposed to hit the opponent above his thighs, which is what Bheem did. Duryodhan had acquired supernatural powers as per which his entire body had become as hard as steel, except the part above his thighs, which again was Krishan's conspiracy, so that Duryodhan doesn't acquire a 100% steel body. Another example of treachery. Sikhs were hurt in the most brutal way by attacking Sri Darbar Sahib, so that the maximum wound could be afflicted on the entire community and psyche. There are several other examples that are not coming to mind right now. The entire war(s) fought in Ramayan and Mahabharat, except for a handful of few heroic and brave combats, was a total treachery. The "good" side heavily cheated, and the "bad" side was invincible. It is justified to this day that it was fair, because it is fair to "cheat" in order to take down your "bad" opponent. This exact formula was used against Sikhs. Khalistan was/is a "bad" idea, and every method was/is to be put into action to "take down" this "bad" idea.Let me also add, that not all Hindus feel comfortable with the above mentioned events. The ones who are educated, moderate, rational and sane do question them repeatedly. I personally have come across several educated and rational Hindus (both ladies and gentlemen) who go to the extent of claiming Ramayan and Mahabharat to be as unreal stories. Perhaps they find it shameful to accept the above mentioned facts.Do you want to convince a Hindu about Khalistan? Use examples from their own history and explain. If the Jujharoo Singhs were terrorists, then how do they explain Hanuman setting fire to Lanka where innocent civilians also lived? Why do they then so devoutly worship someone who committed an act of terrorism? If avenging the honor of Draupadi was justified by carrying out the "dharam yudh" of Mahabharat where millions perished, then howcome the Jujharoo leher is called terrorism which started after thousands of Sikh girls were brutally gang-raped. Sorry, there cannot be 2 rules that are twisted and used as per the convenience of those in power or those in majority. They need to learn to call a spade a spade. However, the most discouraging and heart-breaking thing which I've come across is that the amount of treachery Indians have learnt from their history is far more, much more than the divine virtues of our Guru Sahibaan, Gurmukh Pyaare Sant Sipahi and Shaheed Singhs we (except a handful of GurSikhs) have managed to imbibe within our soul, character and personality.May Guru Sahib do kirpa and we are blessed to imbibe those divine Gurmat virtues in ourselves. May Guru Sahib also do bakshish on our vichaare non-Sikh brothers and sisters so that they wake up and try to live their life based on the lives of those good-hearted non-Sikh shardhalus of our Guru Sahibaan and other azeez non-Sikh friends of GurSikhs and Shaheeds. Eventually, those who are destined will definitely come into the fold of the Khalsa. Those who are not, may they continue to live noble lives but opposite from the lives of those who lived only to harm Sikhs.Let me also say that I haven't written this to please one set of people and enrage another, NO! I've written what I've had in mind for many years but just felt the time has come to say it out. We need to fully and completely understand where our foes are coming from and what mentality they have. Those non-Sikhs who have respect for Guru Sahibaan, the distinctness of Sikhi and uniqueness of Khalsa Panth, they are always worth embracing. Those who only wish harm, they are the ones with whom we will never make any compromise.Sincere apologies if this hurts anyone, but its a common trend we've been watching and it just had to be exposed.ਮਹਿਤਾਬ ਸਿੰਘDec. 24, 2013

A very bitter truth indeed, this is also the history of ancestors of Sikhs as majority of Sikhs are from Punjab, India . Our ancestors related to and believed these stories. In paragraph 9 you state 'educated Hindus' question these stories and from your writing you give them props, but how do you feel about missionaries who Hindus would consider educated Sikhs who do not believe 'stories' about our history, Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, 1699 Vaisakhi etc. Don't belittle other dharms itihass. Also there is no shortage of gaddars in Sikh history.

  9. There are actually 3 shabads in SGGSJ. Raag Ramkali by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

You do not control your seed and semen, and yet you claim to practice

abstinence. You beg from Maya, lured by the three qualities. You have no compassion; the Lord.s Light does not shine in you

You are drowned, drowned in worldly entanglements. || 4 || - Ang 903.

No matter how much he tries, he cannot control his semen and

seed. His mind wavers, and he falls into hell. Bound and gagged in the City of Death, he is tortured. Without the Name, his

    soul cries out in agony. || 5 || - Ang 906.

If one is not imbued with the Lord.s

Love, nor intoxicated with His subtle essence, without the Word of the Guru.s Shabad, he is frustrated, and consumed by his

own inner fire. He does not preserve his semen and seed, and does not chant the Shabad. He does not control his breath; he

does not worship and adore the True Lord. But one who speaks the Unspoken Speech, and remains balanced, O Nanak, attains

    the Lord, the Supreme Soul. || 62 || - Ang 945.

Ok, but seriously are we meant to pray when doing it, surely not? does "oh, oh yeah oh my god" count?

  10. Personally i feel that if vaheguru is forgotten during the act then kaam has taken control, if the act is carried out between husband and wife with vaheguru ji in mind then its is he himself as n30singh ji says sab gobind hai.

It is for the purpose of producing offspring and we are told to keep it to a minimum:

So we should be performing which shabad /simran?

So you think of god when being intimate is it not wrong to be doing it and thinking of god. Like going to toilet and doing the same. Surely when thinking of god have 100/ full concentration and be clean physically and mentally.

  11. The report mentions the tsa and flying, to which the Singh in the video states he complies with. I know importance of Kirpan /Sri Shaib but what would the ordinary American think? So when you fly you forsake your religious beliefs because there is no alternative , but when traveling another way you expect special treatment? Like on a plane Singhs do not wear the Kirpan. the driver said he could put it in the hold and get it back. Why is it ok to do it on a plane but not on the bus? Just should have done ardas like how ALL SIKHS do when flying!

  12. Singh and Kaur are also used by Hindus and also there are many others who use Singh and Kaur in their name and do much worse how can you police them all?

please be aware there is no monopoly over these names as they have been in existence for centuries prior to 1699. She is not promoting the faith,is she?

I mean there are X amount of Punjabi and even more non Punjabi Hindus who use Singh and Kaur as their PROPER surname as opposed to a MIDDLE name. Some may indulge in many non desirable practices -what to do (petition)?

  13. Well done Malaysian Sikhs for highlighting his cheap political stunt I.e he cut his short hair even shorter. I take it gurdwara president Pritpal Singh &lawyer Ranjit Singh Dhillion have no political affiliations with the coalition government parties for example the malaysian indian congress. I hope less important issues faced by sikhs in malaysia are addressed by Pritpal Singh & R.S.Dhillion, and they make a statement on them also. It goes without question there logic is flawless as some one who cuts their hair already has NOW forsaken their religion by shaving their head presumably prior to the shaving his hair style was palatable to them?

  14. What I gather from this is that Baba ji and other mahapurakh not only help sikhs stay attached to god but also help other people stay on their own paths.

I think this also shows the power/bonds formed when we offer ourselves to someone/something in this world. We must be careful because the price of betraying ones religion in favour of another, even though they lead to the same source, seems to be a dangerous.

Obviously the on true lord is the creator of all, but maybe there are temporal consequences? Forces that act in the world/powers that surround religions?

Anybody else wanna add in their 2 cents?

Sorry I must sound so naive but then surely there would not be any Sikhs or Muslims or Christian etc. If we should have stuck to our original religions? Is this a silly question, as surely we should choose the path which we think is right? Or do you just stay faithfull to the relgiion of your ancestors? Guru Nanak DevJi was only present on this earth from 1469, so?

Kurehit can simply be defined as bad conduct. One only has to pesh if they have committed one of the four Bajjar Kurehits. However, to say removing kirpan is a bajjar kurehit is misleading. yes it may be bad conduct a kurehit, but not bajjar kurehit if you know what i mean.

Also i think this Singh Didnt Intentionally take it off otherwise it would have been off in round one.

yes he made a mistake but if you dont know what was going through his mind at the time we shouldnt judge

RUGBY SINGH if you may give me his email ill contact him also and see what he has to say ????

Singh how about the following scenario I'm sure many members on here must know atleast one person (close family member or themselves), who have needed an operation. The surgeons have needed to shave some hair. This is true in most cases.

Why is it ok to have the operation? Being a Sikh it is forbidden, look at our Shaheeds, Face death rather than doing something you have promised Waheguru you would NOT! OR is it ok in some situations? Don't look down on others and don't be hypocrites.
