  1. I have heard the Gianni who is employed there is also eats/makes meat and lives on the Gurdwara premises.

How can they allow kirtan to be done by such people?

Yes maybe it has been happening for last 50 years, but that doesnt mean we should let it carry on should we?

  2. pjs, it's a very bitter pill to swallow. Today, there are 12,000 people who are upset at the result. That's no small achievement in light of the campaign of dirty tricks ran by Virendra Sharma.

Speaking of which, for anyone interested to know, the source of the so-called "open letter" in which Virendra Sharma accused Mr Singh of being pro-Khalistani was a fine young gentleman by the name of Kam Singh Cheema - Virendra Sharma's campaign manager.

Being pro-Khalistani is fine, but it will only appeal to Sikhs in Southall. Since there aren't only Sikhs living in Southall, why bring this issue up? Sharma cleverly knew what he was doing.

Gurcharan Singh should have been more diplomatic and appealed to wider audience. But I guess he doesn't have any good people advising him. Malhi and co. aren't the brightest politicians out there. They are all the same.

if we have people like HUMGAREEB spreading lies against gurcharan singh who had genuinie intrests for the southall community, it says it all.......

SHAME ON HIM, SHAME ON OUR PEOPLE. Southall has already become a complete dump within the last 5 years, i c it becoming a catastrophy within the next 5. No wonder everyone wealthy is moving out as the town itself has become a crime haven.

if we have people like this, like humgareeb, we are going to get no where!

Lol! You lot are a bunch of jokers. I never lied about anything I said. No one on the forum or even Gurcharan Singh himself came forward to refute my claims, to say he doesn't eat meat or drink?

And take a look at the numbers, I really influenced 12,000 people??? If so mayb I should stand next time!!

Hukamai ander sabh ko, bahar hukam na koi.. Vaheguru knows best!!

  4. hu gareeb how can you compare an anti sikh congress PM with a Sikh rights supporter such as manmohan SIngh its blatantly pobvious humgareeb doesnt want to see a singh in power

As I said before I'm all up for a Singh!! But you need to be as Singh first, and that doesn't mean just the name, live up to what Singh means!!

    Conservative policies are shambles!!

  5. I'm not for or against any candidate but I gotta say, if anyone is naive enough to believe someone with a dastaar is automatically superman for sikhs, I suggest you look at the Panjab Govt.

The Mps in this country are generally responsive to most ethnic minority issues regardless of what race they are. I am astounded by this very simple attitude some sikhs have. Look at the issues not the people. IMHO voting for someone on the basis they are an "apna" is on the same level as not voting for them because of some propaganda. Its no doubt we have such little Sikh representation seeing how politically immature we are!

    Well put!

Manmohan Singh is PM of india? What has he done for the Sikhs do far? Hasn't even been able to bring to justice people who were responsible for riots of 84.

Let's get this backward mentality out of our heads, just coz he wears a pug he will be the right person.

Sharma is not probably a good candidate either, but let's not just vote for another sharma with a 'sikh' look!!

Politicians always promise a lot of things but do they deliver?

What should be done if he doesn't deliver? Do we want to be in the same position as we are in now?

  6. theres a bunch of nuts in every packet....

    Anyway......Gurcharan Singh....Zindabad!!!

Depends what else the packets has in it!

It's ok time will tell what Gurcharan singh really is, if he actually wins.

Did I also mention that he used to be a staunch labour supporter, then jumped ship, when they realised he wasn't the right candidate..? What does that show, well to me it shows he is more bothered about whether he can get elected and less about the party or policies he supports. Not a team player in my eyes.

Well I guess he gets that from cameron, I mean he tries to look the part, but has not really got any solid policies, cameron couldn't even answer most question on how the Tories are actually going create funding for all these things they are promising. Someone might like to remind them that we are in a recession..!!

  7. Humgareeb you are not Sikh at all its blatantly obvious get away from this board do you think we are stupid

Yes we only put our faith in the gurus but if one of gurus sons is standing for a seat in Southall we will vote him rather than anyone else

Please justify a vote for anyone other than a Sikh humgareeb as a Sikh whether he drinks eats meat or anything else he was born into a Sikh family which none of the other candidates are so why the hell would we vote anyone else who also drinks and eat meat yet we have nothing in common with

Our commonalities bring us together I have nothing in common with someone who shares sweets after the killing of innocent women and children god knows what he says about Sikhs behind closed doors Humgareeb is on the wrong forum bugger off

I don't have a problem with him standing, but when he portrays himself as an amritdhari sikh but does things contrary to those beliefs, then that puts a question mark against his principles.

Lol, ur saying I am not a sikh, who is judging now? Keep you hair on mate, if it hasn't occurred to yet, this is a discussion forum, and I am expressing my views as are you. You don't have to agree with them, but I have the right to express them.

  8. Ignore humgareeb he is very against having any kind of Sikh in parliment and I know why if you even need to be convinced of why we need to support our own kin and race and religion then read below on the importance of a Sikh in the UK parliment as we arent gonna be treated fairly by any hindu or muslim

Dr Mashuq Ally, 59, is paid more than £100,000 to eradicate prejudice at Birmingham City Council as its assistant director for equalities and human resources.

Dr Ally, whose job is also to promote equality for the council’s 25,000 workers, and the authority were last night at the centre of an embarrassing unfair dismissal case.

The father-of-three, an Islamic affairs expert, is accused of race, ethnic, age and disability discrimination by a former worker, Rajpal Virdee.

Mr Virdee 50 year-old, a practising Sikh, claims he was victimised and sidelined in his job as the council’s former £50,000 equalities manager for social services, partly because of his religion.

The council said they would be “vigorously contesting” the claims and said Mr Virdee, had been sacked for gross misconduct after an internal audit.

While the council refused to say what the audit uncovered, it is understood that he was sacked after he was found to have undertaken other employment while off work, which Mr Virdee denies.

In January it was disclosed that Mr Virdee had collected more than £175,000 in wages after being off work for four years.

It is thought at least one other member of his team, understood to also be a Sikh, is to give evidence in support of Mr Virdee’s allegations.

Dr Ally, who also denies the latest claims, has courted controversy before.

In 2003 he was sacked from his role as director of the South-East Wales Racial Equality Council amid claims he had an “improper personal relationship" with a colleague.

The colleague, Rachel Godwin, 31, an equality officer who denied they were having an affair, left the organisation after her contract was not renewed.

The dismissal of Dr Ally, an Islamic affairs expert, came only a year after his resignation as the head of the Campaign for Racial Equality in Wales, following unrelated allegations of professional misconduct.

He quit the organisation before a disciplinary hearing into the allegations could be heard.

Birmingham City Council last night said Mr Virdee’s claims would be vigorously contested.

“Proceedings have been issued in the employment tribunal, resulting from the city council's dismissal of the said employee for gross misconduct following an audit investigation,” said Alan Rudge, the council’s equalities and human resources cabinet member.

"All claims brought by the said employee will be will be vigorously contested.”

He declined to comment further. Mr Virdee was unavailable for comment.

Dr Ally has denied he left his position at the CRE position “under a cloud” despite the organisation confirming he was investigated before he resigned.

He said his employment history was assessed by his new bosses at the council, who had no issue with it.

The case cannot be heard in Birmingham because Mr Virdee sits on that tribunal's board.

It has been moved to a Manchester employment tribunal on a date to be fixed.

I am not against Sikhs in parliament.. They should be Sikhs though, not pretend to be and dress up as one.. Calm down..

  9. humgareeb, I respect where you're coming from. If you like Brown's policies, that's your prerogative but stating that you've seen an interview on the Sikh Channel does not mean it happened in other words "link or die fool"! I've been following the same interviews and haven't seen anything that confirms what you're saying. If I had seen it, I'd be shocked!

The thing about Mahli, I can't comment on - I've no idea and I don't care to be honest. What I do know is that the Gurdwara seems to be much better off since they took over it's management BUT that's another thread I guess...

Yeh but after seeing those interviews, where I thought he was s good sikh, I saw him eating meat and drinking at a party. That put me right off..

I agree with you that the gurdwara has been better off under the current managemet, but that's not malhi's doing, since there is only a limited amount he can do a he is not a committee member. Had he had his own way,you would have seen what he really is. As u say though for another thread perhaps though.

  10. Talk about delusions of grandeur - why on Earth would he want to respond to you?! An insignificant forum poster! LOL!

    GTFOH!

It's all well and good that you can quote from the SGGS and I applaud that. Still, I don't think Guru's ever bestowed the right upon you to judge. Any judgement will come from Vaheguru.

However, I'm glad you recognised that all you have are indeed "allegations" and absolutely no facts whatsoever. Of course, if I'm wrong, please enlighten me. Please produce a single piece of evidence to back up your claims. Loser.

Yet another example of getting your facts wrong.

If you actually read the comments on the link, he did reply to my initial post, but did not say anything towards my allegations, thus not denying them.

Maybe you got your teachings from Mr. Gurcharan Singh, showing no attention to detail... yet another reason not to vote for him!!!

  11. Spot on Azaad!

Humgareeb - well, it was only a matter of time wasn't it?!

FYI: this thread is specifically about the Ealing Southall election.

Also, I did make a point about this being a facts-based discussion so please stop spewing bullturds and support your nonsense claims with fact. I have a question for you in light of this:

When and where EXACTLY did Gurcharan Singh claim to be an amritdhari?

In fact, don't even answer that since that is not what this post is about. Since you support Lib Dems, why don't you contribute and tell us why Nigel Bakhai should get the vote in Ealing Southall?

What i am stating is facts, its not made up!! When he and his clan were on Sikh Channel few weeks ago (during panth time and another show), Manjit Singh (councillor) was going on about how he the perfect sikh, role model, blah blah bla... I was shocked as had him seen him a week or two earlier at a party, doing things contrary to Sikhi principles.

If sharma wasnt standing I would prob vote labour because I like Gordon Brown's policies, but since none of these candidates in my eyes are up to the mark!

Another reason I wouldn;t vote G Singh is because it appears he is being backed by the anti-panthic corrupt Malhi (badal-alliance) crew...

  12. I'm a staunch supporter of Gurcharan Singh and I'll makes no excuses for it. I've chosen to back him not just because he's a Singh (which is good enough reason alone) but primarily because of all the candidates for Ealing Southall, I believe him to be the strongest.

Speaking from the perspective of somebody who has lived here my whole life. I've seen it all in this area - overcrowding, drug-crime, family breakdowns, run down streets, abandoned buildings, ill-maintained roads, etc. etc.

My verdict on the main candidates is as follows:

Sharma (Labour) - I used to think he was a nice enough bloke until I saw the propaganda he issued about Singh. I also used to think he cared about what his constituents thought until he refused to debate his opponents on the issues. The bottom line for me now is that this man is just a "Khabra Mark 2" i.e. an ineffectual MP and certainly not worthy of the vote.

Nigel Bakhai (LibDems) - again, nice enough bloke but I think he has very little commonality with the typical Ealing Southall resident. Also, upon listening to his recent interviews, a lot of it seems to be stolen from the Lib Dem Central Office script book. Also, he says "you know" way too much lol!

You already know what I think about Gurcharan Singh (Conservatives) so I won't elaborate further except to say that this man has the knowledge, the skills, the background and most of all the drive to deliver for the area. My support of this candidate has increased over the past week in light of the smear campaign attacking his character. (I'm a big fan of the underdog.)

I'm sure the majority of the people on this forum have a link to Southall, I would like to emplore you all to consider Gurcharan Singh on his merits and encourage others to do the same. We have an opportunity to make history on Thursday.

Anyway, those are my thoughts out of the way. What are yours? I've seen a lot of negativity elsewhere about G Singh but it all seems to be based on hearsay i.e. no evidence produced. Let's have a facts-based discussion on the matter!

    Already being discussed : http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/52303-who-are-you-voting-for-uk-gen-elections-6th-may/

Gurcharan Singh - IMO : Can't trust someone who goes around saying he is an amritdhari Sikh, then spends his time eating meat and and drinking at party's etc.. It's not hearsay, I've seen it with my own eyes. He didnlt deny it when asked on the Gazetee forum..

    Vote Lib-dem!!

  13. "patha patha Singhan da veri"

Lol! i am not singhan da veri.. gursikhan ke har dhoor de, hum paapi bhi gat pahey.. But note it says only Gursikhan de, not Bhekhiaan di..

May this shabad from Guru Gobind Singh's bani (Dasam Granth) may help you understand:

    dhoharaa ||

    Dohra

bhaekh dhikhaae jagath ko logan ko bas keen ||

    Those (fraudulent persons) who, in the world, display different (artificial) guises to win the people over;

a(n)th kaal kaathee kattiou baas narak mo leen || 56||

Ultimately, they will be chopped down by the dagger of Death and will get their resting place in hell.(56)

    Aaaaaanyway,

On to bigger and better things. I hope Gurcharan Singh get's it. He'd fight tooth and nail for Southall.

    SL

EDIT: Now this is interesting, it seems humgareeb has deleted his racist post and my response to it! What a coward...

Oh i just saw this now - just to clarify - I did not delete any of my posts, correct me if I am mistaken but I don;t think you can delete a post once its been posted - you can only edit it. Maybe admin did as they are the only ones that can delete posts!! Again an example of jumping to conclusions without knowing th facts!!!

And it wasnt racist, just stating the facts. You can say all you want that Gurcharan Singh will do this and that, but lets stick to first what he has done. He is aware of this allegations I have made and not denied it!!
