Like I said prior I got my answer why in sikhi homosexuality is wrong. I.e. Kaam.

But to compare homosexuality with incest and paedophilies is WRONG. Homesexual relationships are amongst adults who both consent. Peados force themselves on kids who have no say in the matter. Also incest is wrong hetro or homo.

They may or not be born this way I don't know but paedophiles dont actually have the consent of the kid do they? Whereas gay/lesbians do have consent. Being in law enforcement you should know there is a clear difference.

WRONG some paedophiles do have the consent of children, many female teachers who have been caught having relationships with younger male students have had the students consent, how is that different from homosexuality, and why is incest wrong when brother and sister both consent?...in no way do i support incest but im just failing to see how incest and paedophilia are so different from homosexuality?

Just wanted to add kaam is the hardest vice to conquer. I admit I have two children but have scummed to this evil vice more than twice with my wife. Sex should only be for procreation, I want to publicly apologise on this forum. I hang my head in shame as, I've even done it without even thinking about trying for another child. How evil must my wife and I be for indulging in these DISGUSTING pleasures. SORRY. (look im being silly).

Yes I agree Kaam is evil and a bad virture to have if you think about all the time or about others who are not your wife / partner etc. The point I want to make is surely if your in a loving relationship with your wife you can sometimes do it. It doesnt always have to be for procreation does it? I mean humans indulge in various pleasures and some could argue s e x is a natural human urge, which you need to satisfy, as if you dont it would just be on your mind and you would have truley secummed to kaam.

Yes, Sex is natural, Lust, Ego, Attachment and Anger are all natural instincts of human beings. They are Maya. A screen put forward by waheguru to sepaerate the Godly from the ungodly. Events can turn quickly in the world these days. Many Indians of all religions are fed up with the central and state Governments, a recent report stated that one third of India wealth had been looted by its leaders and put in foreign accounts since 1947. there may be change where Sikhs can live in freedom in the future.

The Western intervention in Libya is because the UN wants to protect civilians from the Libyan Govt. I wonder if other Govts will think twice about massacering their cvilians in the future.

When i hear news like this...i find it confusing as to why the kaum has not returned to armed struggle....we will never get justice from india...I REPEAT WE WILL NEVER RECIEVE JUSTICE FROM THE ONES WHO ARE ACTUALLY COMMITTING INJUSTICES AGAINST US...

Brother i can say personally my desicion to become a singh has never really been accepted by family, you see my family even though they claim they are sikh are from a communist upbringing. My great grandfathers, grandfather, and my father are all communist. Their millitant atheism has always made difficulties in my sikhi, but i get through it because my faith is strong enough to keep me going. Brother for you to get through your problems you have to be strong and if you had any real faith sikhi you will continue on this path. I disagree with you on the community issue, we have an amazing community...THE GURSIKH COMMUNITY...they will accept you regardless of your differences...And lastly penji (your wife) wishes to become catholic because of the community factor...that sounds very childish...you cannot pick and choose religion like its a toy...real faith is a gift given by god..it is not manafactured...if she has no love and faith in catholicism then its pointless joining their congregation....when i chose to follow sikhi i knew beforehand that the leadership and organisation amongst the panth was horrendous, but if you have real love for this path no problem however big or small can deter you....SO I SAY TO YOU BROTHER....IF YOUR LOVE FOR SIKHI WAS LEGITIMATE THEN YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE...IF IT WAS NOT THEN GOOD LUCK TO YOU WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE....

As we live in a democarcy..and a democracy is based on demographics...so in theory the majority rules...my question is should gursikhs have as many children as they can financially handle....should we be looking to have 4,5,6,... kids just to increase our population??...doesnt more numbers mean more votes which means more influence?....just look at the muslim population in britain...it jumped from 50,000 to over 2 1/2 million in just a couple of decades...should we following this route or not?? won't we feel more secure as a larger community than a smaller one...

Another example is the ultra othodox community (haredi) in israel who have on average around 6 -8 children each :0 ...this is actually worrying the secular jews in the country..because with their growing popualtion is coming growing power and influence in the government...as were seeing with the settlements in westbank and east jerusalem..

Just curious what my fellow brothers and sisters think about this...

Personally i think we should go down the same route as the jews did...become a large..highly educated and highly wealthy diaspora community...and then just bide out time till we get enough influence and power to project our own interests and policies...like you said kaljugi..money is power...and power is what the sikhs need

Sounds like a false account, remember there are a lot of fake accounts of people lying about SIkh history for political reasons. The same reason Gupta claims Banda Singh Ji Bahadur never took amrit from Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, all political and false agendas.

Also, that's true, if they had brought war during Maharaja Ranjit Singh's time they would have never EVER got close. Everyone loved and respected Mahraja Ranjit Singh despite him lacking in Gurmat. As for what Akali Phula Singh, he did give lashings to Maharaja Ranjit Singh for going to a mela, but Maharaja Ranjt Singh respected him so much that he took it (in a way may have even been scared). Either way, Maharaja Ranjit Singh was a gem to the nation, he was able to admit mistakes and was an amazing leader due to his decisiveness and experience in war. On top of that he was a very humane leader and treated even the people who lost the wars with love and respect.

My dad told me a story that Maharaja Ranjit Singh's court had a place where people could go to get rice if they couldn't afford it otherwise. A man went and had a huge bouri (bag) and asked a soldier or watchman to help him carry it home. The soldier/watchman denied saying he has to watch after the rice, somehow Maharaja Ranjit Singh heard of this matter and he dressed in a cloak and helped the old man carry it home. The old man said you've helped me so much ji, at least tell me your name. Maharaja Ranjit Singh took off his cloak and showed he was Maharaja Ranjit Singh himself, the man fell to his knees out of thankfulness and respect. This is what Maharaja Ranjit Singh's time was like. There were no assassins or anyone wanting to kill Maharaja Ranjit Singh...the only people the Singhs warned Maharaja Ranjit Singh about were the dograys and the "too equal" of a status given to people of other religions. They were able to stab the backs of the Sikhs, which they later on did.

Im not disputing that maharaja ranjit singh was of good character...ofcourse he was...but not everything under his rule was lovey dovey...its not a secret that he kept the akalis far away from his court...and he rather trusted non sikhs over his own bretheren...if he had given the akalis more influence in his durbar..then their would still be a raj today...as they would never of allowed the dogras to get close to power...

never mind though..whats done is done...learn from the past concentrate on the future...

The dogras present in maharaja ranjits durbar were hindus, on many occasion however they promised they would convert to sikhi but in their hearts they never had the love for sikhi and the sikh cause...and back stabbed us at our most vulnerable time

This dispute with the Akali nihangs began because of talks between the maharajah and Lord William Bentinck (a british representative) over plans to extend their dominion of sindh. The Brits told ranjit singh they had no interest in taking sindh and also told ranjit singh the sikhs could not extend their rule to sindh as it was breaking the treaty of lahore (1809) which said that the southern border of the sikh raj was the sutlej and that it could not be crossed by the sikhs....the akali nihangs wanted the raj to spread to sindh but maharaja ranit singh was neutured by the british and had to obey them....this is why the nihangs were outspokenly hostile and decided ranjit singh could not be forgiven for allowing the Brits to dictate the sikh rajs ambitions

Personally i think if ranjit singh had taken the sikhs to war while he was alive..the nishan sahib would be flying over the whole sub continent

The Punjab and Haryana High Court today slapped a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on the state of Punjab for illegally detaining a youth for a month and allegedly subjecting him to third-degree torture.

A division bench headed by Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal today slapped the penalty after the abducted youth Shaminder Singh alias Shera was produced by the Punjab Police.

Shaminder burst into tears when the Court inquired about the incident.

Amicus curiae in the case, Advocate Anil Malhotra, stated that Shera’s silence manifested the atrocities he has been subjected to.

Taking a strong view of this, the High Court directed the state to award an ad hoc compensation of Rs 1 lakh to kin of the victim.

Talking to media persons outside the court, Shera alleged that the Punjab Police had planned to eliminate him and project his death as a police encounter.

Sensing that he will be eliminated, Shera ran away from police custody. Shera alleged that Punjab Police wanted to implicate him in a case of waging war against the state and indulging in terrorist activities.

Shera alleged that he was given third-degree torture and mercilessly thrashed for several days. “When I refused to admit involvement in any kind of terrorism activities, I heard the Punjab Police officers planning to eliminate me. I then decided to escape and I managed to do so,” Shera said.

He added that Punjab Police wanted to associate him with a terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

The development took place during the resumed hearing of a suo motu notice taken by Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal on a news item appearing in an English daily.

The news item had highlighted the condition of the youth’s family. The police had taken the defence that Shera was an accused in three criminal cases and was an absconder.

However, he was produced by Punjab Police and released from custody.

The Punjab government today ordered a probe into the circumstances leading to the death of a youth, Shera, who was detained by the police illegally, tortured in custody, and later attacked by goons who left him mortally wounded.

The government ordered shifting of Balachaur SHO Gurdeep Singh to police lines and constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the death of Shaminder Singh alias Shera of Babbowal village. Police sources said Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal ordered the probe.

Shera was kept in illegal detention and allegedly tortured for 18 days about three months back by Balachaur police. Though Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the state government to take care Shera, on January 18 he was attacked by a group of 9-10 persons in Makhupur village with sharp edged weapons. Shera was admitted in PGI where he died recently.
