  1. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh Did anyone record Sant Baljeet Singh Jee's evening katha on Monday night in Southall @ Park Avenue?? If you did, please make it available! Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh
  2. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh A great seva being done by the Sikh Roots sevadaars yet again... I have one question though, is it just me or are the voices of the kirtanee's a bit too low in comparison to the tabla and vaja? Can anything be done to bring up the 'volume' of the keertanee's voice only whilst maintaining the volume levels of the tabla and vaja? It also feels as if the kirtanee were sitting really far from the microphones. Not a criticism, only a suggestion, like i said, it might just be my hearing... 3. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh I agree with Bhai Sahib below, videos of Sant Jee's speeches / parchaar have to be shown, its about time now, 26 years on, two Sikh tv channels and yet no dedicated air time to show Sant Jee's recordings. The channel needs to stand strong and not be afraid that the sangat will switch off if such videos are shown. Also the veggie cooking program idea is a seriously good one! i'm getting tired of the same old paneer "kebabs"!! and yes it would take away the need to watch the hindi dramas that are full to the brim with negative mentalities which does take an impact on those that watch these programs. Also more programs are needed for the younger kids, most of what i've seen on sikh channel is for the youth and elder generations. There are a number of gurmat cartoon movies that could be shown for example. The Baby TV channel isn't going to teach very young kids about Sri Guroo Granth Sahib Jee and Sikhi. I'd be interested to see what other peoples view is on this? Finally, a benti to SikhTv, don't simply take these suggestions and file them away...if you've asked for feedback / suggestions, take the steps to incorporate it! Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh!
  4. Vhaguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh It looks like after all the good work carried out by the Respect4GurooJee campaign, this problem is rearing its ugly head yet again. It's good to see everyone has been ringing the GurooGhar directly to voice the sangats protest at their proposals. Some of the sangat have also mentioned about Sikh Channel getting involved, I havent personally seen anything happen yet on Sikh Channel in the last few days about this. But why do Sikh Channel need sangat to keep emailing in. The Sikh Channel need to have their own reporters going out to find out about these stories, be more proactive than reactive. We all know the party hall thing isn't an issue in the respect of it's anti gurmat, end of. There is no justification for doing any of these under the GurooGhars name, using the GurooGhars money to fund such halls is a no go completely. If a protest is organised, can the sangat please refrain from any physical means of protest as was seen in Southall at the Miri Piri GurooGhar a short time ago. We need to show that we aren't just a physical kaum and that we can resolve issues such as this with peaceful protests. It is also a good thing that this issue is being discussed at the highest level possible within the Panth, The Akaal Takht. The Akaal Takht need to make their voice heard loudly to send a clear distinct messge. Again, if Sikh Channel could maybe organise a televised broadcast from The Akaal Takht where the Grays situation is talked about and explained why it is wrong. This might sound a bit far fetched but it may be a good way for sangat watching who dont necessiraly believe a party hall is a bad thing, to be convinced it is wrong. 5. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh Bhai Sahib makes a very good point. The Sikh Channel must represent the cases of Gurmukhs like Prof Davinder Singh Bhullar, Paramjit Singh Dhaddi and Jagtar Singh Hawara, cases which have been running much longer. It is becoming quite clear that Sikh Channel are a powerful organisation and this power must be recognised and put to good use. I'm not trying to say its only Sikh Channels responsibility, ultimately it is everyones responsibility to fight such cases, but the Sikh Channel can easily communicate to the national / international sangat. Even if the channel were to have an hour show to highlight such cases, protests etc can follow but the initial awareness needs to be raised first. A humble benti to the sangat to help put forward this initiative to the Sikh Channel. This is the only way, we as Sikhs, can get our voice heard. Please dont take this as a critiscm of Sikh Channel, my family and I are hooked on it because its doing a really good job! Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Phateh Well i'm glad that there was a good turnout - roughly how many sangattan turned up? Around 3,000 I'd say... A good mix of elders, naujwaan, bibya and kids...From that perspective it was uplifting to see a diverse sangat turnout... Sikh Times seems to be reporting that 20,000 attended...i'm assuming that is a grosse exaggeration http://www.emgonline...s.php?news=9373 As Sikh Channel are able to reach Sikhs up and down the country like never before - i congratulate Sikh Channel for their efforts in help of the 17 Sikhs in Dubai. Will Sikh Channel also be arranging protests for Gursikhs such as Prof Davinder Singh Bhullar and Jagtar Singh Hawara who are also on deathrow? Will Sikh Channel be putting the same effort in supporting the June rally that is in less than a month to ensure there is an even larger turnout?
