If Sikh Channel does Panthik actions, it might get Panthik support. It's been asked over and over again to publicise the Grays Beadbi, but it refuses to do.

The Satkaar Committee is representative of any right-minded Panthic GurSikh who abides by the Hukumnamas and Sandesh of Akal Takhath Sahib Ji and Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
How many addresses are need on there? The committee have been given the opportunity to meet the Satkaar committee's members in person at 2pm on Saturday 16 October. How much more transparency do they want?

Agree with Gurdaspuria! We need to sort out our priorities BIG TIME!
People going to boozing and eating meat in a Gurdwara! Where's our Panthik spirit and respect for Guru Ji gone?
PS - Simran, Chaupai Sahib Jaap and Kirtan going to be happening in Grays anyways. Bebe Nanaki Jatha do nice kirtan/simran. I'm sure they'll be given a chance.
Bring as much Sangat as poss from Brum pls.

THIS WAS POSTED ON THE OTHER THREAD:
“Those who do not show respect for Gurbani, do not consider them Sikhs of Mine”Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji
Concerned Sangat held a meeting at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall on the 9th of October to discuss the party that will take place in Grays Gurudwara on the 16th of October. It was established both the family involved and the Gurudwara management has been contacted in an attempt to prevent this gross occurrence of beadbi. The family confirmed alcohol and meat will be served but refused to cancel, and are determined to hold this party at the Gurudwara.
This is a humble benti to all Sangat, Jathebandia,Gurudwara Parbandaks, and any one who has any love for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj to attented a peaceful protest at14:00 on Saturday the 16th of October 2010. KIrtan, Simran and Jaap of Chaupai Sahib will take place.

I heard loads of youth turned up to this meeting, and Sangat did Chaupai Sahib Paath and Ardaas to Guru Ji to help them to prevent this Beadbi occurring. Also, heard that youth from Singh Sabha Southall will be arranging a coach to Grays. All Gurdwaras need to do the same.

Admin - can you PLEASE move this in the General forum?
Legal challenge won't mean nothing to the Pendoo Committee at Grays. PLUS who's going to pay all the legal fees?
I'm sure the protest will work. It will wreck the Kurmaaee for the families involved, and going forwards, families will consider whether they really want their programme wrecked for their own egotistical reasons!

Sikh media needs to show they are Panthic, as do all those old boys that sit in the Sikh Channel studios on a Sunday evening asking for money and for youth engagement. Time to show that you can walk the walk.

Agree with above, but problem is Sikh leadership will never interview with anyone who put them on the spot!

It's great to do Gurmat things on birthdays. Maskin Ji used to say that in Maya, the whole world celebrates birthdays. But they do not realise that death, and hence the opportunity to do Bhagtee, is reducing every year. If a birthday "celebration" induces someone to join with Guru Ji, this can only be a good thing.
Paath/Simran on a birthday is a great idea. Others have invited Sangat to join in with Seva/Simran by having a Sukhmani Sahib da Paath. But make sure the focus of the Sangat remains on Bani, and it does not eventually turn into a social.
Having said all of the above, Sikhi doesn't prohibit fun, so by all means have fun, but priority is Bani/Bhagti/Naam.

The Singhs could not have been taking responsibility for their actions in the hope of not being found guilty due to lack of evidence, and hence maintaining their freedom to carry on with seva.
This has happened in other contexts.

Isn't Phillip Hammond MP the one Sikh Federation and BSCF are liaising with for the Dastaar issue in airports?
Unfortunately, his constituency is Runnymede and Weybridge, one of the most wealthy areas in England and unlikely to have many apnae.
Jagtar Singh should advise if we should contact him directly to lobby on this issue. If we should, I can provide his contact email and also his constituency office's details!

Phone calls are working ... keep the pressure up on the hotel. Kamal Nath is in the hotel NOW!

Has nobody here heard of the chauth paur?
I haven't.

This issue is being driven by RSS in India.
They want to cause split in community for their own benefit, and weaken Sikhi further. They are using Ramanand incident to fuel fire between castes, and build separate identity for "Ravidassis". Sad thing is, common "chamaar" (I hate to say this) is falling for it, as Sikhi is against caste, though average Punjabi Jatt/Tarkhaans Sikhs are also to blame as they don't treat their fell chamaar GurSikh brothers with equality. Situation in Punjab is so bad now that there is violence nearly every day in one area or another, based on Ravidassias demanding their rights, though Badal does nothing to stop the violence as he wants the votes of the Ravidassia community. Average non-Ravidassia Sikh is feeling victimised in Punjab.
What's happening in the West is just an extension of what's happening in India. Our role should be treat "chamaar" brothers and sisters with respect and love, and overcome the caste dividing barriers that elders have established (though which our Gurus were so against). In this way, we will fail the RSS agenda.

Who's teaching? Are you starting from basic Mohaarnee?

Time for Sikhs to show solidarity with our Hindu brothers. We are all same children of one Vahiguru.

Sikh Channel are not responding to the Sangat directly. I'm sure they are reading this forum, as they have responded on relevant topics in the past, though they refuse to respond whenever they are asked "difficult" questions.
Sangat is therefore hoping that "shaming" them in the Sangat will lead to some action from them on this issue.

Does Baba Joginder Singh Ji do Katha? Can you post details of his schedule/where you can meet him?

Is this the Singh that does the Paath Uchaaran? He had Santhiya at Tuksaal, or is it a different Singh?

Baba Ji arrive on Friday around mid-day. Their 2 Diwans are at Wednesfield Gurdwara Sahib on Friday evening (7-9pm) and Saturday afternoon (12-2pm). This is confirmed from their usual UK programme organiser.

As Sikh Channel is active on this forum, can you please explain to the Sangat why you will not give news on anti-Panthik "gurdwaras" who promote meat, sharaab and bhangra? There was an outcry about 6 weeks ago for Sikh Channel to highlight the Beadbi at Grays Gurdwara. Despite repeated assurances, Sikh Channel did nothing.

Agree with the above ^, but in another sense, it provides me with amusement! Guru dee khael is niyaree - LOL!!!

Why aren't Sikh Channel covering this yet? It's been 3 weeks now. Even Des Pardes and Punjab Times have written articles on it this week.
SHAME ON SIKH CHANNEL!!!

I've being talking to Sangat members and committee too, and am local from the area.
Keep the pressure on the committee and the sangat. The sangat are hiding behind the committee, and the committee are hiding behind the sangat. Bottom line is that sangat money given to Guru Granth Sahib Ji cannot be used for party halls.
Singhs were attacked. They are well known in amongst the UK Singhs.
Keep pressure on Sikh Channel too. They are side-stepping the issue - call them on 0121 380 1050. If it's a Panthic channel, it needs to take a stand on these types of issues.
When calling the Gurdwara, please speak calmly and with PYAAR. We don't want the Sharabi-Kebabis making negative propaganda against the Singhs.

Excellent - paste the text of that letter ASAP so that it can be copied and pasted by other Gurdwaras.
Singhs speaking to the family have told me that they are still adamant as of yesterday that the party will go ahead.
Another Singh heard a Trustee say "This is our Gurdwara. We can do what we want. If you think you can stop us, we'll see you on Saturday". --> that's a direct challenge to the resolve of Panthic-minded Gursikhs.
