  1. Gurfathe Paaji, I think we have to look at this logically, by running away or fleeing, how does he help the situation??Yes for short term and thats probably a month he'll be ok, then what?! His family will be interrogated and most likely tortured and he will be on the run from the law (although we might not agree with it, in his circumstance he has to agree with it), and it gives the government/police officials to arrest more innocent Sikhs and put the Gursikhs in the negative lime light, which has happened far too many time (1978-present) Also at least with the 28days he gets to visit his home, he can see his family, why jeopardize that for "freedom" At the end of the day SOPW (from what i've read) supports the prisoners and family needs and does it according to the law (British/Indian) hence why it is a legal and registered charity, by him running/hiding from the law will not help him or his family or the panth... What we must do and probably the only thing we can do is unite together and support them, show them that we are standing alongside them, show them that the sangat outside those prison walls are there for them... That was the aim of the charity according to Professor Devinderpal Singh Bhullar. Sorry if i have said anything to hurt/upset you. Gurfathe
  2. Whether the believe it's 5 bani's or 3 either way I would not want our sikh brothers and sisters to convert to christianty because we WON'T support them due to the maryada they follow... Prof Davinderpal Singh Bhullar said that there are only two jathebandhi's in prison... Rich or poor... There's no maryada there because there struggling to survive... If we want to do seva don't look at what they believe in look at the Guru inside them just like Bhai Kanhaiya Ji!
  3. WJKK WJKF, VSingh made a fantastic point about going out to India or anywhere else for that matter and doing seva yourself... Not only is it fulfilling but you can also understand why seva is so important and how much dedication and commitment is required for it, hence why i applaud Khalsa Aid and SOPW.. I've been following both charities for some time now and seeing how they operate and when it comes down to it; how much money goes to actual seva, i can say from what i know about both charities that it is 100% as neither charity takes any money for salaries etc... i've seen the volunteers at programs and they too travel up and down the country using there own expenses... Best thing to do is speak to both Khalsa Aid and Sikh Organization for Prisoners Welfare (SOPW) and ask them what they do with the donations or even better how you can physically help. Sorry if i've said anything to offend you.
