I have a contrary view to most people when it comes to Kesh and Identity. I believe when you put on the uniform, Kesh, dastar, bana you are representing Akal Pukh ki fauj. You should be able to carry yourself, have moral and darmic disciple. Have attributes that reflect your position as a Singh. When you have sell-out singhs gettin up to no good, the whole Sikh saroop gets tarnished. Like alchi singhs, smokers etc etc. Wouldn't it be better if they we not repping the dastar all together?

In essence, what Bhai Gurdaas Jee is saying is that each yug has its own mantra, which was considered potent at the time. But the waheguru mantr that Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Jee has given us is so powerful that all the mantra's in all the yug's pale in comparison to it. Furthermore, if you sum up the power of all the mantra's in the previous yugs, even their combined power pales in front of waheguru mantr.

Bhai Gurdas Jee's vara are very hard to understand as the symbolism used is quite complicated.

How can we measure this paleness or strength of a mantra , since its an intangible quantity .... please tell how to measure ?

All I say is Muhammed had long hair (it is written he had long curly hair and a beard) Krishna had long hair, Jesus Christ had long hair, Buddha had long hair. Hair is important, it is the will of the Almighty. Samson had long hair, and when his wife tricked him and cut off his lock he lost his super strength. It is said God has long hair too, also the Bible says ''We are all created in Gods image'' so why then do we want to change this? All are within his Hukam.

Ask yourself, If God(Supremem Being) didnot wanted us to have hair on our body, then He wouldnot have given us at all. Every part on this body has some purpose.

This is a simple curious question ( mods , please allow this for God's sake ) : Why hair-cuts not allowed in sikh religion ?

I stay in mumbai and whenever I go out with my friends ( who all are moneh and clean-shaven ) , they ask me one thing :

"Sarabjeet , God has blessed you with such a cute looks and your fair and handsome , then why you spoil your looks with this beard and long hair ?"

I am not saying I want to cut my hair , but my only question is that all religions have allowed hair-cut , why in our sikhism it is not allowed ? thanks

Some people spend all their lives doing seva of saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Other people, whoever they are, saw it fit to throw our Guru down a well. What is going on?

Guru Sahib is alive , not just a book .. Atleast , a Sikh has this view of GGS .

So , if we are in trouble , our Guru shares our troubles on his saroop .. When sikhs died in delhi in 1984 , GGS must have said "My sikhs are getting sacrificed , why shouldn't I ?" .... I guess same situation applies this thrown in well case !

Some tortures beyond human threshold of suffering like

sawing alive ,

broking on a saw wheel ( charkhadiya te chade )

getting scalped ( Bha Taru Singh ji )

BOILING ALIVE ( Bhai Dayala ji )

and things like that

So , my questions are

1) Did it cause them physical pain ? If so , why they never expressed it outwardly by screaming or otherwise ?

2 ) If it did not cause them physical suffering , then why so ? Does it not indicate that human body can bear torture beyond what we think .. Also , isn't this like "mind controls the body " because presumably the shaheed sikhs had conquered over mind ( mann )

Why don't you first clean the trash from your own house ? Today , Sikhs are having more female feoticide than hindus ...

Don't have guilt feelings for receiving gifts and luxuries of world ! Whenever your mind says "Who am I to deserve all this ?" , backslash it by saying "Who am I not !"

This guy is my bloody landlord and he is trying to cheat me and a few others .

When amritdharies start doing this , what can be expected of the rest of the diseased lot .

When people like Hammertime are present in sikh community , we shouldn't be surprised that muslims hate us back !

He is on twitter, you guys might want to put his pictures up on youtube and raise awareness of who the enemy of Sikhs is. He has been praising terrorism against Sikhs and genocide in racist tweets. This guy is a right wing hindu extremist terrorist and pure filth, and lives in USA. I believe he has been responsible for creating hate videos against Sikhs over a few months. He could be part of a wider network of hindustani extremists who have an agenda of painting Sikhs and other minorities in a bad light online. We need to monitor such people...
