  3. Why blame only the poor women? When the reality is, that the men are the beasts. It is one man having 4 wives in islam, not the other way. It is all sex oriented to satisfy the greedy/lusty euneducated men, women are hardly taken in account, they are always forced violently, oppressed, stoned to death, and god knows what more atrocities on them. So if anything has to be changed, start changing men also with proper education and morality. The society which does not respect women, can never ever walk morally.
  4. Brother SeekingSikhi, following are 4 verses of Fifth Patshahee full of grace and hope for all beings, no matter how fallen or dumb they maybe. In them, we can see Wahiguru Akal Purukh´s infinite merciful nature, for in all without exception, His light permeates. ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਉਣੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ॥ Ooch Apaar Baeanth Suaamee Koun Jaanai Gun Thaerae || O my lofty, highest, incomparable and infinite Lord and Master, who can know Your Glorious Virtues? ਗਾਵਤੇ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਸੁਣਤੇ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਪਾਪ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥ Gaavathae Oudhharehi Sunathae Oudhharehi Binasehi Paap Ghanaerae || Those who sing them are saved, and those who listen to them are saved; all their sins are erased. ਪਸੂ ਪਰੇਤ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਉ ਤਾਰੇ ਪਾਹਨ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੈ ॥ Pasoo Paraeth Mugadhh Ko Thaarae Paahan Paar Outhaarai || You save the beasts, demons and fools, and even stones are carried across. ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥ Naanak Dhaas Thaeree Saranaaee Sadhaa Sadhaa Balihaarai ||4||1||4|| Slave Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary; he is forever and ever a sacrifice to You You can clearly see, that nobody is condemened forever, it is a matter of being conscious oneself, that He is so merciful, that we just need to break our ego, our "durmat", and turn our faces towards Him, seeking His Lotus feet, then no matter, as Guru Jee says above, that even if we are wild as beasts, evil as demons, fools, or heartless stones, even then, out of His unlimited kirpa, He will forgive us, and make us merge in Him. Just think a little bit about it, is there any such merciful being like Him? The answer is, no. For all are revengeful, except Him. We ask eye for an eye, and tooth for a tooth, but He, is softer than the softest, He is "bakshanhaar" That is mahantaa. As beautifully Guru Jee describes Him in His first verse: Ooch Apaar Baeanth Suaamee Koun Jaanai Gun Thaerae. Highest, Incomparable, and infinite Lord and Master, who can know Your Glorious Virtues? Sat Sree Akal.
  5. Bad Company A rich man had only one son. The son fell into the bad company. He developed many bad habits. The man was much worried about the habits of his son. He tried his best to mend his habits but he could not succeed. One day he thought of a plan to teach his son a lesson. He went to market and purchased some fresh apples and a rotten one. He came back to his home and called his son. He asked his son to put all the apples along with the rotten one in the almirah. The son did the same. After some days father asked his son to bring the apples. As he opened the door of almirah he was surprised to note that all the apples had become rotten. He felt sad. At this his father told him to see how one rotten apple had spoiled all the rest. In the same way one bad companion could spoil all others. The father's advice had the desired effect. The boy gave up bad company and became good again. Moral: Better alone than in bad company.
  6. The Donkey and the Load of Salt Long ago there lived a merchant. He used to deal in salt. He had a donkey to carry load. He used to sell his salt loaded on the donkey. He had to cross a stream to go to other village. Once his donkey fell into the stream and much of the salt was dissolved in water. The donkey easily crossed the stream due to the light weight of salt on his back. The donkey was happy. The donkey on his next trip knowingly fell into the stream. The merchant suspected the animal's intention. On the other day too the donkey intentionally repeated the same trick. His master was now sure about the animal's evil intention. The merchant next day loaded the donkey with a lot of cotton. The donkey once again repeated the same trick. He fell into the stream. This time his load became very heavy. The donkey carried the heavy load. It was very tiring for him to move on. The donkey now realized his mistake. He stopped falling down into the stream any more. He thought that it was not good to play tricks. The merchant had taught the donkey a good lesson. Moral: You can befool a person a few times but not always.
  7. ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਗਲ ਪੁੰਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਇਆ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ Athasath Theerathh Sagal Punn Jeea Dhaeiaa Paravaan || Be kind to all beings-this is more meritorious than bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage and the giving of charity. Sree Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj
  8. CLEANLINESS We clean up our vehicles, machines and tools on a regular basis. Minds and thoughts are great weapons and tools that can change the world around us. Let's make an effort to clean our mind, thoughts and our vision, on a regular basis also. Let´s sprinkle some forgiveness and wipe out the mistakes of others. We will see a clean picture of the world in front of us. Doing it periodically brings peace within us and therefore to the world.
  9. Brother monatosingh jee, the other stuff you are asking about, depends on what is one´s goal. If one has worldly pursuits, then, there are many different things to do or try. But if one has Wahiguru Akal Purukh as our goal, then after Amrit, no need to look here or there for anything, just engage yourself faithfully in His bhakti, stay in His bhaana come whatever it may, and lastly keep a constant check and fear in your mind, so that it may not force you to do any bad karam, for which one may get derailed from Sikhee, and thus one may not be able to look face to face to Wahiguru. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. PROBLEMS IN LIFE MOST OF THE PROBLEMS IN LIFE COME BECUASE OF 2 REASONS WE ACT WITHOUT THINKING AND WE KEEP THINKING WITHOUT ACTING. RELATIONS MAKE A MIND WHICH NEVER MINDS MAKE A HEART WHICH NEVER HURTS MAKE A TOUCH WHICH NEVER PAINS MAKE A RELATION BASED ON RESPECT AND TRUST THEN WHICHEVER RELATION YOU MAKE WILL NEVER END. RESPECT RESPECT OTHER PEOPLES FEELING´S EVEN IF IT DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU FOR IT COULD VERY WELL MEAN EVERYTHING TO THEM
  11. Sat Sree Akal Guest Singh Jee, following are my 2 cents to your fears and queries which I found and thought of sharing with you: “Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” ~ Steve Jobs "Your life is a sacred journey. It is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path... exactly where you are meant to be right now... And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love." ~ Caroline Adams *One can never ever stay much away fom Sikhee, for Sikhee is not a religion of rituals and dogmas, of do´s and donts, but a tie link between us on one end, and Akal Purukh on the other end, by which He pulls us towards Himself, whenever we call upon Him with love and devotion. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.

  15. A tale of 5 idiots Akbar asked Birbal to look for five biggest idiots in his state and produce them in his court within a month. After a month's extensive search operations, Birbal brought to the court only two persons. "But I asked for five", Akbar angrily asked. "Give me a chance to present them one by one", Birbal pleaded and went on to present his idiots: "Maharaj, this man, while travelling in a bullock cart, was keeping his luggage on his head so as not to hurt the bullocks. He is the first <banned word filter activated>.Pointing to the second man Birbal continued, "And this man here is the second <banned word filter activated>. Some grass grew on the roof of his thatched house and he was trying to force his cow climb up a ladder to graze on them." Birbal continued, "Maharaj, there were a lot of importants jobs for me to do in the state, but I ignored them and wasted a precious month in searching for idiots. According to me I am the third <banned word filter activated>." Birbal paused here for a moment. "Who are the fourth and fifth idiots?", Akbar thundered. "Beg your pardon, Maharaj", Birbal continued, "You are the king and are responsible for the wellbeing of the entire state and its people. You need wise persons to help you oversee the state affairs. Instead of looking for wise people you engaged me to look for idiots. According to me you are the fourth <banned word filter activated>. And, Maharaj, the person who is glued to this post, keeping aside all his high priority assignments, oblivious of pressing needs of his familiy, just to learn who is the fifth <banned word filter activated>, is the fifth <banned word filter activated> himself. You will not find a better <banned word filter activated> to beat this one. What do you say, Maharaj?", Birbal concluded. Akbar said, "Post it immediately in all forums. Lots of idiots are eagerly waiting".
  16. Violence When you call yourself an indian, a christian, a muslim, or a european or anything else, you are being violent. Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind. When you separate yourself by belief by nationality, by tradition, this breeds fanatism, hatred and violence.
  17. A SPLITTING HEADACHE... The proprietor of a coffee shop had been busy all day. Being Saturday, it was very crowded and the customers were just unending. He had been on his toes since morning. Towards the evening he felt a splitting headache surfacing. As the clock ticked away, his headache worsened. Unable to bear it, he stepped out of the shop leaving his staff to look after the sales. He walked across the street to the Chemist, to buy himself a painkiller to relieve his headache. He swallowed the pill and felt relieved. He knew that in a few minutes he would feel better. As he strolled out of the shop, he casually asked the salesgirl, "Where is Mr Savarkar (the Chemist)? He's not at the cash counter today!" The girl replied, "Sir, Mr Savarkar had a splitting headache and said he was going across to the coffee shop. He said a cup of hot coffee would relieve him of his headache." The man's mouth went dry and he mumbled, "Oh! I see." This is a typical case of looking outside ourselves for something that we have within us. How strange but true! The chemist relieves his headache by drinking coffee and the coffee shop owner finds relief in a pain relieving pill! A man hunts across the lengths and breadths of the universe to find peace. Eventually he finds it in his heart and realizes that peace is really a state of mind. He undertakes many a pilgrimage to find God. Eventually he realizes that God is the dweller in the heart.
  18. “It is amazing how people everywhere hold the same false beliefs and hear the same destructive voices in our heads. We can call that the lower self. That in itself shows that we are all basically one consciousness, albeit based in physicality and duality. But to the bright side, there is also a higher consciousness, a Oneness, we share. We can wake up to that lower self, see that it has never served or protected us, and let go... into the Silence and Stillness where there already exists the freedom and peace we long for.”
  19. ENLIGHTENMENT "Enlightenment or true spiritual growth, can be achieved only through persistent exercise of real love.” *And the persistent excercise of real love, is the only one we offer to our beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh, through Bhakti. There are many types of love in different relationships, but He being the embodiment of supreme Truth, is the only One Being(Ik Oankar), worthy of all our unconditional love, and more, and more, and more love, without reservations. Sat Sree Akal.
  20. Speaking the truth “Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being light years ahead of your time. If you're right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind even if you are a minority of one. The truth is still the truth.”
