  1. Shri Anand Sahib : The keertan of bliss. If ever one feels down for any reason, like despair, betrayal, shaken faith, krodh, or even if one just wants to listen to His mahima, then just listen to this Shabad, it gives unexpressable joy and renewed strength to the mind and soul. Sat Sree Akal.
  2. Grace of Wahiguru is always there, it is a matter of our receptivity. Suppose there is a rainfall, but if our bucket is upside down, then not a single drop will enter into it. And to keep the bucket right, means staying in His bhaana through bhakti at His charan kamal. Sat Sree Akal.
  3. Just amazing and speechless after listening to this sweetest among sweetstest Bani. Sat Sree Akal.
  4. Utter madness , and mentally unbalanced of a so called person, who is thus worse than the main character in the following video :
  5. Dear poster, following are the answers to your 3 questions above: 1)Wahiguru does not write anybody´s destiny, neither does He judge anyone. His devotees call Him an infinite Ocean of love and mercy, so, He can never ever be so partial and unjust. Let me ask you one thing, do you know what is the meaning of destiny? We all know, when we send a letter to someone, there is a sender and a destinee. Our destiny is, because we are the destinees. Of what you may ask? Well, of our own sown seed karmas. There can be no destiny without karmas. Neither destiny can be made out of someone else´s karma seeds. We perform karmas, and these return to us like a boomerang. Destiny is a reaction to previous actions. The Bani says: aapay beejeh, aapay khaae. So of course, if we plant chillies, we can not expect to get apples. Life in the triloki creation is made in such way, that absolutely no one can escape the law of karma, not even the highest gods, godesses, devtay, etc. 2) Light is always there, but if we turn our back towards the Light, naturally we shall be in darkness, inspite of there being Light. In a similar way, Wahiguru is there, but if we prefer to remain trapped in Maya and koor, how can it be the fault of Sachay Patshah Wahiguru Akal Purukh? It is we who have turned away our faces from Him and ran far away, forget not only as human beings, but as well in the in the wheel of 84(chaurasee lakh joonees). Nothing happens just like that, if we fall in a deep and a dark well, naturally it is only that, bit by bit we reach up, but then if we deliberately slip down, naturally we shall fall down again at te bottom of the well. He, Akal Purukh, is sad Mehervaan, Bakshanhaar, He gives us manush deh, He blesses us with the Amrit of Gurbani, He also blesses us with the company of Guru Sahiban, of Gursikhs, but still we pay no attention to all His blessings, and prefer maanmat, so naturally, how can we ever get freed fro the mayavee creation. He will never pull us out forcingly, He wants us to get matured gradually by ourselves, by going through our own karms, which leave deep impressions on our mind, and by their effects on us, we shun to do bad karam in the future. 3) you may believe it or not, our destiny is shaped in such a way, that it makes us a better being, though from our actual spiritual level we may not perceive so, only when we arise above within, and see how His Hukum is carried on, we shall then say, there is nothing wrong in the entire creation, but that will be only then, not otherwise. Having said all this about karmas and their reactions, would like to end saying that Guru Sahiban and all the Bhagat Jan in the Bani, have been a living example to all of us, that if ever we want to free ourselves from this creation, we have to just to switch our attention, our dhyan, our attachment from the unreal and periishable creation, through His bhakti, to the only One Eternal Truth, who is beyond the influence of mind, of Maya, and consecuently of Karma. You may ask, how to detach or uproot here, and attach or plant there, at His Lotus Feet? To this question, Gurbani beautifully gives us the master key message in simple words: Naanak, Naam Dhi-aa-ay, toon dar Sachay sobhaa paaee. O Nanak, meditate on the Naam, (the Name of the Lord), and you shall obtain glory in the True Court. Any other form of devotion, not in accordance to Gurmat as stated above, is all manmat, thus a heavy tight chain around our necks, to perpetuate our staying in the mayavee creation. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  6. Let us see a bit why Yogi Bhajan was not good at all, forget being a sikh, but even a decent human being. Following is an article written by Steven Hassan which I found on the net, and seems having credibilty: "The head of the empire, Yogi Bhajan, died in New Mexico in 2004 at the age of seventy-five. Born Harbhajan Singh Puri, he arrived in the U.S. in 1969. He soon renamed himself Yogi Bhajan. He said he was a well-known holy man back home in India. In reality, in India, Bhajan had been merely a civil servant, a customs inspector. Members of Yogi Bhajan’s group claim to be Sikhs. However, according to mainstream members of the religion, by adhering to the doctrine of Yogi Bhajan, they are violating more traditional Sikh teachings. Yogi Bhajan’s teachings are closer to a synthesis of Kundalini yoga, tantric and New Age practices than anything originating from Sikh teachings. The audacity of Yogi Bhajan’s claims makes this story particularly alarming. Bhajan taught, among other things, that he could see auras and see into the future. But perhaps his most outrageous claim was that he was the official religious and administrative leader of all Sikhs in the Western world. I am told that most legitimate Sikhs avoid any association with Bhajan’s group, and that Yogi Bhajanism is by no means representative of the five-century-old Sikh tradition whose homeland is in the Indian Punjab Former members with whom I have worked populate and tell their stories on a Delphi forum, “The Wacko World of Yogi Bhajan“. Over the past thirty years I have helped former members who alleged sexual and psychological abuse by and under Yogi Bhajan. There have been allegations of various criminal activities, and also Security Exchange Commission convictions of members of Yogi Bhajan’s inner circle. Several former students of Yogi Bhajan claim that when attempting to leave the group, they were threatened with violence. There is an unsolved murder of a member that is still under investigation, and also haunting suicides. There is more information on this fraud yogi bhajan which can be read on the following address:(http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-hassan/the-disturbing-mainstream_b_667026.html), but the above evidences are more than sufficient to prove out how devlish was this fellow." *And to share a bit of light on the topic of the OP about what is a mantra, and its effects .... following are some basic points : Mantra is a Sanskrit word that consists of two parts: the root word man, which relates to thought, and the suffix -tra, which refers to tools or instruments. The word literally means “a tool of the mind” or “instrument of thought.” The word mantra is used to describe any thoughts, utterances, songs, or other sequences of words or sounds that are supposed to have spiritual efficacy or magical power. A mantra is defined as “a tool of the mind that has a spiritual effect on a person’s will or emotional state of being.” A mantra can be a religious or sacred prayer or chant, but it can also be a spell or supernatural weapon. Mantras are not specific to any one system of thought or religion. Generally, any utterance or thought that is believed powerful enough, to affect either the inward state of a person’s mind or the world at large can be called a mantra.

  8. No judegments A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train’s window shouted… “Dad, look the trees are going behind!” Dad smiled, and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed… “Dad, look the clouds are running with us!” The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man… “Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?” The old man smiled and said…“I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today.” Every single person on the planet has a story. Don’t judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.

    .

Friend OneBeing, I have divided your post in four sections in order to reply you better as they touch 4 topics from my point of view. 1) Maybe your body lacks vitamins, or minerals, have a blood and urine analysis, just to be on the safe side. To fight laziness, you need physical fitness, and this to start with, you may have some long walks in parks, or near a beach, where fresh air goes inside your lungs, this will boost you up, plus have ample fresh fruits and fresh green vegetable juices to desintox your body. 2) do not blame your past life so much, make the most of this one, submit yourself to Him, talk to Him, like talking to a father. In the parragraph below in your post, in point 2, you admit that you did a lot of simran while moving around... so you His blessings were there, they do not end like that, it is only, that you have turned your face from Him, there is something deep within you, which unconsciouissly is bothering you, thus you are turning your face unconssciously from Him. Never say, you are not blessed, for if it was so, you would never ever think of Him. The very proof of His blessings on you is that, inspite of your weak physical condition, or being mentally exhausted, still you think of Him and miss Him. Do you really think, that it is you doing so? Brother believe it, it is more about He pulling you from within, then any effort of yours. 3) You are not bad at all, only your lookout is not in the correct direction, see your huge potential about enagging yourself in His bhakti, and the try to fulfill it, it does not matter if physically you are down some days, that is normal to an extent, just give your heart and mind at His Lotus Feet. He is not your strict teacher at school demanding huge homework from you, rather He your beloved lovely Father, looking after you and taking care of you,w ithout asking anything in return, so be grateful to Him from the bottom of your heart. 4) the world does not like to talk or listen about Him, so take it as a blessing that you do so, for He has chosen you, and He does not want you to be so enraptured in the mayavee creation. His blessings are already there, it is only we, who have not those eyes to see them on us. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  12. Brother monatosingh, people will always keep talking sometimes with sense and many more times nonsense, let them do what they want or can do, nobody can ever change anybody, everyone is born with their own sanskaras and destiny karam. So according to that, they will have their own nature, character, health, mental issues, wealth, friends, foes.....etc Not only all this, but even the day of coming and going from this world, is already fixed. So you see, keeping all this in mind, better not to look what others do or not do, that is their own problem, or better said, let us not judge others, they have their own weight to lift on their backs. But that does not mean, we should not be polite or helpful at our best towards others. We should always do good to others, and have good thoughts for others, because in them also, lights up the Jot of Wahiguru. It is we who have to look at ourselves, as per how much we have understood Gurmat/Bani/Sikhee, because in the end, we have to go alone, no family members, no friends, no enemies, no relatives will come with us. It is we alone with our load of karam and bhakti, who shall continue our journey of life, and there, what others said or thought has no value. If anything has value, it is as said above, your good karam, nishkam sewa, and the kamaee of Prabh ka Simran, which the Bani emphasizes at all times. So brother, let us see what does Amritwela mean. Amritwela simply means, the time we intake Amrit, the Amrit of Prabh ka Nao, during its meditation, dhyan or call it simran even. It is in the early hours, when His devotees engage in Bhakti at the most, let us say between 3 AM and 6 AM, although no time is bad for His Bhakti. This time of early hours has its own advantages in fulfilling that purpose : No phone calls, no traffic noise, no guests, no work to distract, no cooking.... so you see there is maximum silence in the atmosphere, which is needed for good concentration, that´s it, otherwise, any time is good which we can engage in His Bhakti, for the real Amrit is within us, which we taste when we get absorbed in His Simran-dhyan, thus become pure, paviter, and finally ajoonee, by merging in Him. So brother, let people talk and do what they want, and let us look at ourselves, as per how much we have moulded our lives according to the teachings of our beloved Guru Sahiban, through the Bani., so that we can achieve the goal of our human lives, which is none other to go back to Him, and merge in Him God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.

  14. A tree does not bother about the flowers that fall, It is always busy making new flowers blossom Life is not about what we lost so far It is about what we can still grow. ---- Everything happens for a reason live it, love it, learn from it! Make your smile change the world But don´t let the world change your smile. Sat Sree Akal.
  15. Not sure if this technique works out or not, but for sure it is one of the most funny things ever watched .
  16. Whenever You are in a Position to help someone, Just do it and be glad, Because, God is answering someone's prayers through you. So don't think that anybody is using you, but remember that you are useful.
  17. I would not name this stepping into sihkee as "conversion", as it sounds something "missionary". Anyhow if any conversion takes place by practicing sikhee, for sure there is one, and that is a drastic change in one´s life, that is in changing oneself from a slave of the 5 chors and mind, becoming into a pure selfless devotee of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. That´s it. Nothing more, nothing less. And this "change" is most welcome. And for that we have to be most grateful to Him, at each step of our lives, from the very bottom of our being. Sat Sree Akal.
  18. A) Yes, sikhee should be most welcome. It is a blessing of the Almighty, it is an unique opportunity in the human form, to become one with Him, through love, devotion, and His infinite Grace. While in other religons, you have a hierarchy and a multiplicity of gods, goddesses, devtas, etc, which just confuses a person, and derails one from the straightforward highway to the Supreme Lord Wahiguru Akal Purukh, thus keeps the jeevas entangled in the mayavee creation. And unlike other religions, which promise so many things after our departure from this plane of consciousness, in Sikhee, if one is sincere and faithful to Gurmat, one can realize that One supreme being in this very life. I am saying all this not just as a sikh, of which I am proud of being one, but as an human being also. Just see the greatness and the beauty of that One Supreme Lord, in the Mool Mantra, the base of Sikhee. Ik oankar, Sat Naam, Karataa purakh, Nirbhav, nirvair Akaal moorat, Ajoonee, saibhang, Gur prasaad Jap Aad such, jugaad such, Hai bhee such, Naanak hosee bhee such. He is the only One Creator. Truth, is His name. He is the doer of everything. He is fearless, he fears none He is Revengeless, He never dies, neither is He ever born, He is Self existent, His existence does not depend on any other being He is to be realized by the Guru's gift of grace, Meditate on Him. He was True in the beginning. He has been True through all the ages. He is True even now. Oh Nanak He is forever True. Can you see how gracefully, and in simple language, He who is indescribable by any mind, for He is beyond it and the senses, neither can He can be perceived by any tools or devices, yet He has been described in simple words for us humans, by Dhan Dhan Satguru Nanak Dev Maharaj. Once one sees the beauty by understanding what Guru Sahiban wants to convey us in these verses, and the magnificence of that Supreme Being, one just remains speechless, there is nothing more to be added.... B) Age is relatively important,as one does not know when shall one depart from this creation, so it is best to start our own research on this path of love, satisfy the mind and fully devote and engage oneself to His Lotus feet. God bless you. WAH E GURU

  20. ਕੋਟਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਰੇ ॥ Kott Pathith Oudhhaarae Khin Mehi Karathae Baar N Laagai Rae || The Creator emancipates millions of sinners in an instant, without a moment's delay. *Above is a Sat Bachan of Dhan Dhan Satguru Arjun Dev Maharaj, where He clearly states, that it takes not more than a moment to Wahiguru, in washing the sins of not one sinner, but even millions of them and all together, thus emancipating them. The key here is to please Wahiguru through love and bhakti, and submit oneself fearlessly to His Mauj, that´s it, nothing more needed. Rest is all His kirpa. No amount of any efforts of ours can ever clear our sins, we only need a spark of His Daya Meher to clear all our uncountable sins/karmas, that also not in several births as many may think, but in an instant, just as Guru Jee tells us above. Sat Sree Akal.
  21. Remove extra lemon from water... I still remember the day I was preparing fresh lime water for the first time...I ended up adding almost five times the amount of lemon than needed. It was a disaster.I had to correct it anyhow. How I wish I could remove some lemon juice from water to make it taste perfect again! But alas! Some things can never be undone. Some things can never be changed. There was no way that I know of, to remove the extra lime. So what was the solution then? The only way to correct this was to add four more glasses of water and dilute the lemon juice to make five glasses of fresh lime water. This made me think.. Sometimes we cannot undo some things that have gone wrong in life. Some wrong decisions, wrong choices, wrong investments, wrong actions, wrong associations, wrong words or wrong doings can never be undone. So what is the solution then? When you cannot correct what is wrong, do not waste more time over it. It is like attempting to remove lemon from water. Instead, get busy in adding so many right things in your life that the wrong seems insignificant. We all have a negative side to ourselves. We may not be able to remove or correct all our negativities. But we can definitely continue adding positive thoughts, positive reading and positive people in our lives and dilute the negativity. We all have to deal with some easy people and some difficult people in our lives. Do not waste time trying to change the difficult people. You will drain all your emotional energy in vain. Instead spend more time with the pleasant, positive and happy people and the difficult people will not affect you any more. Everything in your life will never be perfect. Do not waste too much time correcting what is wrong. Get busy doing the right things .......
  22. Ways to save a life: 1. Choking - Just lift up your arms. In New Jersey, US, a 5 years old boy, cleverly saved his grandmother's life, with a very simple method, by raising the arms! His 56 years old grandma Dilihua was at home watching TV while eating fruits. When she turned her head, a piece of fruit got stuck in her throat. She tried to press on her chest to dislodge it, but it doesn't help. When the boy asked: "Grandma, are you choking?", she could not answer. "I think you are choking Grandma, raise your hands, raise your hands." The Grandma did as he said, and really managed to spit out the fruit! Her grandson was very calm, and said it was something he learned in school. 2. Body aches upon waking Do you wake up in the morning and find yourself experiencing body aches? Does your neck feel sore and painful? What should you do if you experience these symptoms? Just lift your feet up! Pull your big toes outwards, and slowly massage and rotate in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction! 3 Foot cramps When you have a cramp in your left foot, raise your right arm as high as possible. When you have a cramp in your right foot, raise your left arm. This will soothe immediately. 4. Feet numbness If your left foot becomes numb, swing your your right hand out forcefully. If your right foot is numb, then swing your left hand. 【Three rescue methods】 1. Half body paralysis (regardless due to brain hemorrhage or clogged blood vessels), half side face drooping. Immediately take a sewing needle and puncture the patient's earlobes at the lowest point, then squeeze out a drop of blood on each side. The sufferer will be immediately cured, and will not have any lasting symptoms. 2. Heart stop due to heart attack. Immediately take off the patient socks, and with a sewing needle puncture each one of the person's ten toes, squeezing a drop of blood out. The patient will then wake up. 3. When the patient has difficulty breathing, regardless whether due to asthma or acute laryngitis, etc., until they start to turn red, quickly puncture the tip of the nose with a needle and squeeze out two drops of black blood. * The above three methods are not dangerous at all, and can be performed within 10 seconds. Forwarded as received.
