  1. Is the importance of Vaisakhi taught in Schools worldwide the same way importance and significance of Diwali/Eid/Christmas is taught? Yes, I know Vaisakhi, I myself have taken Khande Baate di Pahul, we (JUST WE) know Vaisakhi, but have we told the world about ourself? Check the British Curicullum and which festival days are covered ... My kids were asked to bring flowers/Diyas on the day of Diwali for Diwali celebration in school ... Why should education not be there for Vaisakhi???

You'll find Basakhi is recognised by people in USA, UK. Obama and even Dubya have in the past wished Sikhs a Happy Basakhi as has Gordon Brown, not sure if 'Call me Dave' has :s

  2. Thanks....

What is Panj Inshnaana?.... sorry dont know?

Also I will try and do as much bani as I can without getting in trouble at work...

Panj Inshnaana is the when you can't shower/bath you clean five steps method. Similar to the Muslim Wuzu.

    Panj Ishnaan

Wash hands and then wash mouth and spill the water out.

Second put finger in nose and clean it.

Third pour water in hands and then let the water go down arms and do the same thing on other arm.

Fourth wash the face and wash behind ears.

    Fifth wash feet.

It's used before Punj Ishnaan before reciting Kirtan Sohila Sahib at night and more generally, before having Darshan of Maharaj in his Darbar.

  3. Havan is not some cult thing or Hindu thing. It was there in Sikh tradition long back. Even guru gobind singh ji did havan when Shakti was worshipped for Khalsa. Havan is nothing but reciting of Gurbani like CHANDI DI VAAR,SUKHMANI SAHIB,URGARDANTI,CHANDI CHARITAR,ASA DI VAAR, JAPJI sAHIB,Complete ANAND SAHIB in Amritwela(before sunrise) by few Gursikhs infront of SGGSJI or lighting Jot.

But We sikhs donot say."We are doing Havan" but "we are doing Nitnem" Becuase emphasis is on GURBANI recitation and Darshan of SGGSJI nothing else.

You sound insane. The Lord Guru Gobind Singh worshipped Shakti? lol you're obviously not of the Sikh thought.

  4. A small amount of racism when foreign players are on the pitch mainly from the opposition. But, South Asians just aren't good enough if they were would India etc not have their own good football team? They like just Cricket and Hockey. In the West it's the same, good enough for a kickabout in the park, but not for professional football.
