  1. Is this for real? An Amritdhari girl comes on here, says she likes an Amritdhari guy, and all you guys are telling her to forget about it? That's the real problem with Sikhi today, the older generation doesn't understand how hard it is to be a Sikh and live/grow up in in a Judeo-Christian country (I am assuming bhen ji lives in the west). And then Amridhari guys have the gal to complain that it is hard for them to find wives, when they themselves are the biggest reason that girls are looking elsewhere. If this bhen ji forgets about the guy, then what you gonna do if the next guy she has feelings for is a mona, or a non-Sikh altogether?

GuptKaur Ji, if you really do like this guy, I suggest you talk to him and your parents. For god sake, this isn't Islam, we ARE allowed to socialize with members of the opposite sex. Tell your parents that you are interested in him, and spend some time hanging out with him. Grab a coffee, watch a movie, find out what his ambitions are, what his career goals are, see if you connect on a personal level. If you like him, he likes you, you can have fun together and he checks all your other boxes, then marriage isn't a bad idea.

Saying "it'll happen if it's meant to" isn't really good advice. Sikhi is about taking initiative and creating the world you want to live in through your own hard work. Waheguru isn't going to hand you anything on a silver plate. Bhen ji, if you like him and want to marry him, you'll have to make the first move and go from there. I wish you all the best.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

irony in name and the advice being given by "Guru's Singh"..
  2. which saints chanted gurmantar tht actually made gurmantar part of their nitnem .....,,. a sant who only japped gurmsntat as his msin bhagti ..... eg sant harnam singh rampur did on mool msntar and sant jarnail singh did jabji sahib .... can u please tell a sant who did jap of gurmsntar and becme brahm gian '

All mahapursh did/do naam simran of waheguru, including Sant Jarnail Singh ji and Sant Harnam Singh ji,
  3. Does anyone know what Gurmukhs have said on this topic. Can recordings and/or videos be posted. Nothing will be solved by yelling at each other. I see there are genuine people on both sides of the discussion. When both sides are deadlocked it best to ask a Gurmukh on what should be done.

This sewa has been occuring before. One only needs to look at the time when Sant Gurbachan Singh ji and Sant Isher Singh ji and other mahapurakhs gathered. They had requested "agan bhet"saskaar of the saroops that had been changed by Master Tara.
  4. WJKK WJKF

Can you ask him about his daily Nitnem or any other goals he has that he wants to achieve regarding Gurbani....for example a specific number of paths or sehaj paths that he has set a goal for?

Can you also ask him about Shaheed Singhs and what it means if there is darshan of shaheed singhs.....especially if you have no background of Sikhism dating back to multiple generations?

Also if he has any messages for the sangat regarding anything in general.

    Thank You!

    WaheGuru

very personal question veerji.... I dont think neo singh will be able to ask any more questions either way.... inferring from his previous post.
  5. When asked about God at Orange County, California, sympathetically he replied, You cant say its reality. You certainly cant say its a fiction because something exists. That something needs to be experimented. Nothing can be said about God. You can study about God but nothing has been known because all you know is from the outside, what we would call external. Until you enter from within, the internal cant be known. By studying about God, you will miss the whole concept and the consequence to that is that you are left with knowledge only. To know is to enter the kingdom, to become one with eternity. Knowledge is from the outside and has nothing what so ever to do with God. Because God is happening.

Nothing is hidden from God because God is the inside of everything. The inside knows all. You can hide something from others, but you cant hide it from yourself. And it is there that God is hidden.

He went on to say Why have we invented so many names for God? There must be a certain reason, because God cannot be named, a name can easily be changed, but God remains the same. So why has God been addressed? Because there are moments when you would like to scream out your inner feelings to God in sheer joy. Some name is needed. Muslim Sufis invented ninety-nine names of God that are so beautiful, but why not a hundred? Ninety-nine looks a bit incomplete. There is a certain reason the hundredth name is kept silent and that is the true name of God, which of course cant be uttered. That is why Guru Nanak said Satnam. Your name is thee truth. But in reality you cant utter it because it will lose its beauty. It remains un-uttered at the deepest core of the heart. What is Gods true name? Nobody knows that all the names are mans creation. The true name of God is the existence that surrounds you.

How can one call Him by all His names? The wise give him names according to His manifestations Jap Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh Ji He goes on saying. those kind (the irreligious) of people havent known anything of spiritual experience. Theyve never felt any presence of God. The only way to receive God is to drop all your searching and seeking. The real question is recognition, not search, and the only way to know God is to live God.

    :)
  6. Actually I have heard this is also an advanced spiritual state where a Naam Abhyasee Gursikh will see Vaheguru everywhere and in everything(ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ). In the beginning these advanced concepts do not seem feasible hence they seems unreal and metaphorical but if you study the writings and biographies of Gursikhs who are advanced naam simran practitioners you begin to understand what these concepts mean.

Even sufis and other mystical orders have similar concepts if you read the writings of Bulle Shah, Sultan Bahu or the Masnavi of Rumi.

hence bhai vir singhs ji and sant harnam singh ji rampur khera vale. Waheguru
  7. Guru Maharaj speaks to people differently, there's no one linear, black white path. Gurbani shouldn't be constrained to ones own interpertation and everyone else is wrong. Just ask Bhai Vir Singh ji :). Waheguru.
