  1. I don't think this happened..

A family bought a house built on a very old cemetery. The arial came off the telly and the little girl of the house was pulled into the telly while there was no transmission. Then a lady came and pulled the little girl out the telly with a long rope, and then said "this house is clean".

I think the above is just fiction though.

99.999999999999999% Sure this is fiction. (not sure if I have enough 9's :) )
  2. British and the Sikhs: Interview with veteran Sikh historian Gurinder Singh Mann

The video of my interview on the Sikh Channel regarding various themes of Sikh history.

From the Granth of Guru Gobind Singh to how the British colonised the Punjab.

    Visit: www.gsmann.com

Great work. Have a copy of your book, just show it to anyone who says negative stuff about Sri Dasam Granth. I am wondering if you will have more articles/books coming out about the "divide and conquer" methods employed against the Sikhs from the 1860's onwards. Would be a great seva, and really intresting to see how divide was created in the Sikh Panth, as this would be the first step towards unity. Thanks, and great work.

  3. ok so when baba ji were leaving from toronto, I asked baba ji if I can put that video up, then he replied that he is coming back to tornoto for 1 day and then I can make new video and he will quickly answers all the question. So I am going to see baba ji again and try to properly record the video.

He is on Edminton, Alberta & Winnipeg Tour now.

He is in Calgary currently, till the 3rd. Can listen to him everyday at 8am to 845. And. 6:50 pm to 8 pm. Calgarykirtan.com. , all times are mountain times. Mst.
  4. ROFLMAO.... y is spellin so importent 4 U? Iznt it mor importnt 2 Xpress yoself?

Veerji, you claimed that you're not a slave of the english langauge , so that is why you write like that..... My question to you is why not write in Gurmukhi?
  5. Seems like you really don't understand why you are doing you're Nitnem. Also you must understand that Sikhi is only a religion only because it has to be, more of just a way of life. Please listen to both these videos, they may help you as they have helped me.

    Part1

    Part 2

  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Kee Fateh

I don't want to hurt the fundamentals of Sikhi and what the Shaheeds did. I want to keep growing my hair even though I have headlice but my family say cut it, you can grow it when your older etc. I then said I might not get chance again dunno when swaas will run out and they just laughed really. I hope Vaheguru does Kirpa and doesn't let this influence me. I will never cut my hair! Even though I said I could just try treatment for head lice they still don't understand. Hair is my organ.

There are ways to treat it without cutting it. Go get Shampoo probably the best way.
  7. Your saying that your," parents have always been extremely open-minded people and would rather have us go down our own paths and follow something that makes us happy rather than stick to their beliefs just because we feel obligated." shows how your parents have failed to bring you up as a Sikh. They were not being " extremely open-minded people" but extremely lazy people who had no time to teach you about their own religion, about your rich culture, your mother language and left you an absolutely confused and a person without any roots.

So try to rediscover your roots as a Sikh and you will get the answer to your questions.

. Veer ji please take time to read the full post, why do we feel the need to needlessly attack someones upbringing? Not everyones brought up the same way, and is blessed with being born into a Gursikh famly. Veerji above has stated his parents had limited knowledge of Sikhism.. We do not know the whole story, and what does it matter in relation to the topic?

Chis brother, i will let someone else answer your questions who has better understanding of Gurbani then me, these are questions many ask when first starting on the path of Sikhi. Hope you get your answers

Also this is must watch , for anyone new to Sikhi, as Sant Mani Singh ji does an amazing english q & a with sangat, you may need headphones, also there are 2 parts.

  8. Are you telling me that khalsa raj jog/sikh royalty was some paper concept on draft? Are you denying centuries of sikh royality during/after guru sahib time up to singh sabha.?

i have news for you, sikhi existed before singh sabha and bhausaria panth movement (bunch of ultra right wingers who didn't even spare sri guru granth sahib ji because of their insecurity). I have given you partakh examples of sikh royality. Having dastar adorned with jewelry, having jewelry mala/har, or having golden tegh are all nishani of khalsa raj jog sikh royality. This has nothing to do with personal ego of someone or having less or more humbleness.

It's not fault of sikh royalty if bunch of punjabi sikh women start wearing jewelry for superficial reason than to represent sikh royality.

Wearing jewelry for superfical reason should be targetted not wearing jewelry to represent sikh royalty.

There is no provisioning or automatic rule in maryada which says: wearing jewelry for sikh royalty or not should be criteria for someone to judge if that person is humble, gurmukh, gursikh or not.

We should be targetting why jewelry is worn not just k nee je rk reaction sikh royality is bad. If its worn out of superfical reason, off course its bad but if its worn to represent sikh royality, how's that bad?

Rehitnamas above is targetting individual attachment to materialistic things, its reasoning we should be exploring not just kn ee j erk reaction its bad, its anti-gurmat.If i am wearing jewelry as rightly said by bhai sahib harbhajan singh jogi to represent sikh royality *NOT* myself, hows that bad?

As i said earlier, Raj Jog(Sikh Royality) and Bairaag/Tyaag are two sides of gurmat coin always co existed whether you like it or not..both sides of coin have rehit nama from bhai dya singh ji and other prem sumarag granth. If you want to ignore one side and idiolize other thats up to you. Both are acceptable and parvan in Gurmat.

I never discouraged the one side of coin..i just merely posted other side of gurmat coin and whole hell broke loose...so insecurity lies on other side, not here.

i m one of them who don't wear jewelry and damn proud to be..ironically despite of being two opposite side of spectrum, i actually agree with bhai sahib harbhajan singh jogi minus the monkey comment, his 5 minute speech on all this bickering and badh vedhaad is spot on..why? its targetting rigid thinking preconceived notions that just because you were jewelry and represent sikh royalty that you are not humble.

I never wanted to show those pictures, i was asked to provide reference, so i did...i am convinced that both side of gurmat coin have co-existed from guru's time until now and will be always and its parvan in Gurmat.

It's usually ultra right wingers/ultra left wingers from both sides will miss the whole purpose of bairaagi/tyaagi khalsa and sikh royality- raj jog (Gurmukh maya vich udasi), dance around the issue instead of understanding two sides of gurmat coin.

Whole point of this thread was to point out fallacies in rigid thinking/preconceived notions people have against those who have to represent sikh royality as video provided by bhai sahib harbhajan singh jogi and provide understanding with examples how two side of gurmat coin have existed in guru's time, puratan rehitnamas/granths and in history, modern times.

Off topic, but question Veerji , what are your thoughts on Dr Trilochans Singhs book on Bhai Harbhajan Yogi?
  9. This topic is irrelevant imo. Sikhs should not wear jewellry period per Bhai Daya Singh ji. We cannot compare ourselves to Mahapursh that wore jewels etc, because they were Braham Gyani's. They could have lay in bed sleeping 24/7, or killed 100 people and it wouldnt make a difference. I dont think any of us can claim that avasta so we should listen to Bhai Daya Singh ji. Sorry if i am incoherent , typing from phone. Phul chuk maaf

  10. Rehatnama Bhai Daya Singh Je tells us don't wear make-up or jewellery. I only have the english quotation where this is mentioned along with don't commit adultery.

    Quotation: suramaadhik shi(n)gaar nehi(n) nehl(n) par tharunee sa(n)gi.

Jewellry is pretty black and white imo. No real reason too....
  11. There are historical Gurdwaras etc. in many other cities. Should all of these cities also be considered "holy"?

I'm not opposed to the notion of Amritsar being considered some sort of capital for the quam, but I guess I don't understand the notion of a "holy" city within the context of our religion. Sometimes I think we decide to adopt certain stances to mimic other faiths that have "holy" cities, so as to not be any less than them.

Missing the point, the point isn't about the title "Holy" , its about banning all alcohol and meat from the city.
