  1. no wonder sikhs are getting slapped up left right and center..when you have a mentality like this...chandi di vaar and all banis that promote bir raas..should be recited as much as possible...stop sidelining sri dasam granth as uneccesary bani..the reason why we are in such a bad state since the british invaded punjab is because we have neglected sri dasam granth ji far too much..we are making our sikhs weak

Sorry Singh! I respect Sri Dasam Granth Jee and am not sure myself about the rules so that's why i pasted that topic Bhul Chuk Mwaaf

  2. Awareness that's one! Like in my local area (Huddersfield) the Sikh Awareness Society have been invited at the local gurdwara to talk about Grooming and Brainwashing which is aimed at Young Sikhs! I hope many people attend especially the youth. So programs like these and other stalls, activities can be put up to raise awareness. Also, keeping a link with the Sikh Awareness Society on Facebook/Email will benefit Sikhs.

  3. There have been some sants in the past with great parchaaraks such as Sant Waryam Singh Jee, Sant Hardev Singh Lullo Vale, Giani Sant Jee Maskeen, Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale, Giani Thakur Singh Jee, Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee, Baba Baljeet Singh etc. They have done alot of seva for the panth i.e. Katha relating to Gurbani and even making Sikhs aware of current issues. Another good Singh in the UK is Bhai Sukha Singh as he explains in English!

  4. It has to be said with deep pain that a saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaj was half burnt at Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh in Mumbai on Sunday 26th Feb 2012 at 3am. This beadbi is too common now and we need solutions fast, satikaar is decreasing rapidly. Dal Khalsa and other jathebandi's are doing what they can to make us aware but all we do is talk and don't have any action which was said in the discussion on Sikh Channel yesterday. The satikaar of Banee needs to start at home singho!

  5. It's hard yes it is but you must use that creative energy elsewhere! Rather than doing such things do more Simran, Seva, Positive Research on Sikhi and set high standards and do Ardass! I would request everyone to watch this video:

  6. Guru Nanak Dev Jee gave the Guruship to Guru Angad Dev Jee who was Bhai Lehna Jee at first and served Guru Ji well with honesty and love. Therefore Guru Nanak Dev Jee didn't give the guruship to his sons because they didn't serve him. Then Guru Amar Dass helped Guru Angad Dev Jee as he used to travel 30 km to Goindwal Sahib to get water for the morning bath for Guru Angad Dev Jee. Because of this seva, love and affection towards the Guru that is why Guru Amar Dass Jee got the guruship. Guru Amar Dass Jee gave the guruship to Guru Ram Dass Jee who was his brother in law but the guruship was given because of Guru Ram Dass Jee's love and affection towards Seva and serving the Guru once again. Then Guru Ram Dass Jee passed the guruship to Guru Arjan Dev Jee (youngest son) but Prithi Chand (oldest son) wanted the guruship even though he had arrogance. Then Guru Arjan Dev Jee gave the guruship to Guru Hargobind Jee which was his son. Then a interesting thing happened because Guru Hargobind Jee gave the guruship to Guru Har Rai (Grandson) even though he know Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee was going to do something big in this world meanwhile Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee did heavy meditation for 26 years, 9 months and 13 days. Guru Har Rai passed the guruship onto the youngest son Guru Harkrishan Jee because Ram Rai changed a letter of Gurbani when he was sent to see Aurangzeb (Mughal emperor). Guru Harkrishan Jee was only 8 years old when he left this world for heavenly abode as the result of smallpox. Guru Jee said that the next Guru will be in Baba Bakala which was of course to be Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee. Then a Sikh called Makhan Shah came into difficulty with his ship therefore did Ardass and said that he will donate 500 coins to the Guru that is present at that moment in time. Then Makhan Shah went to Baba Bakala where there was loads of people sat there pretending to be Gurus! of course they were fake most of them except Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee. So Makhan Shah decided to bow down to every person and put 2 coins there and after doing all that they didn't say anything. Then he asked another person if there was another person who directed him to Guru Tegh Bahadur who was sat in a little hut doing meditation. Then Makhan Shah did the same and Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee said "oh singh why are you giving only 2 coins when you promised 500?" and Guru Jee showed his shoulder full of bruises after helping the Sikh. Then after all this Guru Gobind Singh Jee (son of Guru Tegh Bahadur) became the 10th guru and the last in Human Form. Guru Gobind Singh Jee said there will be no more Gurus in Human Form > Guru Granth Sahib Jee will be our Guru til Eternity. The lesson we learn from this is that the Gurus didn't choose their sons they looked beyond that. They looked for Humbleness,Seva, Love, Affection for God and the Guru and respect for Gurbani. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa , Vaheguru Ji Kee Fateh!

  7. I am posting this because I'm so disappointed at how our youth doesn't think twice before using bad language.

Some highly abusive words have become a necessary part of each and every sentence coming out of some people's mouths. It is so annoying :( specially when such filthy words are uttered by someone who looks like a gursikh. When confronted, some people say they don't litterally mean it. I mean, why even say something filthy when you don't mean it? just because you think it is cool? skipping out some filthy words from your regular vocab won't make you uncool!!!!! and... it breaks my heart when i see a sikh saying bad words to another sikh.

My humble request to my Gursikh brothers and sisters is to refrain from the use of foul language.

gurU kw isK gMd-vwkI nw hovY

guroo kaa sikh ga(n)dhaavaakee naa hovai

The Sikh of the Guru should never speak disgusting speech.

    Rehatnama Bhai Chaupaa Singh Jee

    Sorry if I offended anyone.

    VJKK VJKF!

This is totally true but it's just been a month since i've started progressing towards Sikhi with Vahegurus Kirpa and the first thing is no swearing or gossiping at all! Bad language is not needed there should be pyaar within Sikhs and everyone else. So glad to see this topic :)

    VJKK VJKF!
