  1. Muslims follow many things that hv come from Judaism like halal meat is same as kosher meat. But Muslims don't feel threatened that they will become jews if they follow some Jewish practices or concepts. So if Sikhs believe in existence of devi devte, reincarnation and jhatka meat etc that won't make us Hindus. So if hindutavis call us Hindus, let them bark. Deep down they also know that Sikhs are not Hindus but they are bayeemaan people and liars.
  2. We hv also become suspicious of anything that's remotely linked to Hindu dharam. Conch shell comes from sea. But if a sikh used conch shell, many Sikhs will call him Hindu.
  3. Premi veer Plz read Guru Sahib killed wild boar that was destroying crops. https://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Hunting_in_Sikhism#Guru_Har_Rai Wild Pig Hunting at Wadali The incident has been described in “Tareekh Guru Khalsa at pages 488 – 489). One landlord (farmer) came to Guru ji and reported that there was one very dangerous wild pig in his sugarcane field. Since last few months this was a burdon to people of this area, it detroyed their crops regularly. Many people tried to kill it but failed. Guru ji along with Panda Khan, Bidi Chand and Bhalan went for hunting this pig and killed it.
  4. I was told by a scholar that Prem sumarag is around 1710-1715 AD. Kirpan amrit makes sense to me. Khalsa Fauj is the King of entire world. So if some women of some region start to like sikhi but not willing to completely give up their previous faith but ready to become 40%-50% sikh, they can be given kirpan amrit and Khalsa fauj could marry with them and raise kids as Sikhs. This will only benefit the panth. Plus those women who are given kirpan amrit will also achieve liberation and salvation.
  5. I agree. There is very less chance that boar's blood in amrit is a true happening. Regarding kirpan amrit for women, there is strong evidence that it happened in hazur Sahib. May be it was done to allow Khalsa fauj to marry local Hindu women and raise kids as Sikhs. Rest Guru Sahib knows.
  6. Many Punjabi Sikhs hv big ego issues. They feel if some sikh can't speak proper Punjabi, he is not a proper sikh. They also make fun of some nri Singhs who struggle with speaking Punjabi. I was also told by hazuri Singhs in nanded that they are called bhayyaas due to their dark complexon when they visit Delhi/punjab.
  7. I am thinking it from a different angle. May be present day Sikhs get too emotional and make an issue out of nothing. I hv heard people say they believe in Dasam Granth but doing it's parkash alongside Guru Granth Sahib is very wrong. I feel such people are creating an issue when there is none. May be 18th century Khalsa was very charrdikala and had no problem in doing double parkash or even triple parkash(Sarbloh Granth). They had no problem in making kirpan amrit where a single Singh prepared amrit using kirpan instead of khanda and reciting Jap ji Sahib. They had no problem in adding extra banis like Chandi di vaar alongside 5 baanis while preparing amrit. May be they had no issue in pouring some boar's blood in amrit to test Muslim converts??? I could be wrong.... Just my thoughts....
  8. Even the 64 yoginis who are female attendants of Durga/Kaali love drinking blood. It's mentioned in Dasam Granth Sahib.
  9. Goddess Kaali also drinks blood. She is a ferocious war goddess. I know she is not God and is way below God but still she is part of God's creation and is a ferocious warrior. Dasmesh Pita says in bhagauti astotar that Kaali devi does namaskar to a brave Singh warrior.
  10. I agree. But we hv made some changes too. At hazur Sahib they read Chandi di vaar and 33 swaiwe of Dasam Granth Sahib alongside 5 baanis while preparing amrit.
  11. I hv seen some nihangs drink goat blood when they do jhatka. They say it's bir rass pehra. May be blood is not that bad a thing as its made out to be?
  12. Wild boar meat is very different from domestic pig meat which can cause disease as domestic pig eats gandd and human excreta.
  13. Making Muslim converts eat pork is fine. But putting boar's blood in amrit is a bit strange. What do u say veerji? Or may be meat eating Khalsa considered animal blood a pure enough thing to put into khande baate da amrit?
  14. John Griffiths in 1794 writes that to test Muslim converts, they are given a dish of boar's legs to eat. But to put boar's blood into amrit I hv heard for the first time. http://sikhcybermuseum.com/history/MemorandumGrifiths.htm John Griffiths -1794 The Seiks receive Proselytes of almost every Cast, a point in which they: differ most materially from the Hindoos. To initiate Mahommedans into their mysteries, the prepare a Dish of Hog's legs, which the Converts are obliged to partake of previous to admission. They have forbid absolutely the use of the Hookah, but they are as liberal in the use of Bang, and Ophiam, as their Neighbours. They are not prohibited the use of Animal food of any kind, excepting Beef, which they are rigidly scrupulous in abstaining from. They never shave either Head or Beard; They sometimes wear yellow, but the prevailing Colour of their Cloths is deep blue; They make their Turbans capaciously large, over which they frequently wear a piece of pliable Iron Chain or Network.
  15. Sicques, tigers or thieves is a very valuable book having historical accounts on Sikhs from 1606 to 1810. It can be bought at https://www.amazon.com/Sicques-Tigers-Thieves-Eyewitness-1606-1810/dp/1403962022 It's contents and introduction can be downloaded at https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/bfm%3A978-1-137-11998-8%2F1.pdf In the introduction it's written: Of more concern, and a practice that would now be abhorrent, is the noted practice of forcing Muslim converts into the Sikh faith to take a form of amrit which includes pig blood. Variants of this observation record that Muslims are made to wear a boar's tusk as an amulet or to eat pork. This is an extremely unorthodox practice that has not survived into modern times and has no doctrinal roots. It is not known to have existed into the nine- teenth century, which would imply that it was introduced in the mid- to late eighteenth century as a practical measure for a particular set of circum-stances, possibly to counter the threat to survival arising from the high risk of infiltration by opposing forces. To detract any interlopers into the faith, especially those from the enemy camps who were predominately Muslim, the Sikhs may well have adopted a form of truth test by forcing the convert to defY the most basic practice of their former faith. Du Perron, while describ-ing the ceremony of initiation, provides perhaps the most practical reason, centering on the necessary change of beliefs for the new initiate: "Then the senior Siks give them food to eat, and all that they eat is stirred with the tooth of a wild boar. This latter ceremony is especially done to a Musulman who becomes Sik in order that he no longer feel repugnance towards pork."

  17. https://www.thesikhencyclopedia.com/other-historical-places/punjab/saunti/ It marks the site where, during a hunting excursion, a dog belonging to Guru Hargobind killed a wild boar and itself died of wounds sustained during the fight with the beast.
  18. https://www.huntercourse.com/blog/2011/11/the-worlds-most-dangerous-game-to-hunt/ Experienced hunters say that wild boar can be even more dangerous to hunt than a bear. Equipped with thick, razor-sharp tusks, and a razor-sharp mind (hogs are the 4th most intelligent animal in the world) a wild boar can weigh a staggering 660 lbs and exhibit extremely aggressive and unpredictable behaviour. Hunters be warned! After wounding a boar, give the animal plenty of time before you follow it in to the bush. Otherwise, you’ll go from being the hunter to the hunted. Boars will circle a human adversary, charge rampantly and attack from behind. A survival tip: Pick your tree ahead of time so you can climb out of harm’s way if ever you’re being chased.
  19. Yes they do give you different maryada when you get pesh. Anyways, plz tell will you kill boars to save your crop?
  20. It's also high in iron. https://www.northforkbison.com/wild-boar/ If you think the taste of wild boar is similar to pork, guess again. Although the wild boar is related to the domestic pig, they do not taste the same. Wild boar tastes like a cross between pork and beef, with a unique juicy succulence. The meat is a bit darker, perhaps due to the healthy iron content
  21. Boar meat is super healthy. Unlike domestic pig, boar's meat is very lean and low in cholesterol. It is full of proteins. It's very good for people who wanna make their bodies super strong.
