  1. 50%-60% of our DNA is shared with a banana. 90% of our DNA is similar to mammals. it all points to a common ancestor. the 1st primative cells. evoloutuon is going on all around us. we see animals that are similar but different species. the finches on the different galapogos islands darwin saw, they had adapted to eat food sources on the diffrent islands, but came from the same bird.

  2. shouldnt we be staying away from alcohol, in beer/wine form, because it takes us away from god, makes us do foolish things, and harms our body? this ethanol wont do that, have you ever got high/drunk off ghee? theres not enough in there. ethanol (pure alchol) will kill you if you drink it.

  3. Apes aren't at the top of the reincarnation cycle, those who can meet waheguru are. Humans may have evolved from apes, but apes don't have dharam or the ability to think like we do.

There are life forms within the vast expanse of the Universe that Sants say Khalsa Raj has come already. Do you think that these people would be homeosapiens? Theoretically it's possible, but mathematically they're a different species. I'd bet my bottom dollars they're very different biologically, but the same in terms of how they see Waheguru, spirituality and experience kam, krodh, lobh moh and ahankaar.

The animals and primitive life forms that can not taste Waheguru and understand what it means to be separated from Waheguru all get a chance at what Guru Ji tells us in Rehras Sahib everyday:

"Bhaeee prapath manukh dehoria| Gobind milan ki ehe teri baria, avar kaaj teray kitay na kaam| Mil saadh sangat paj keval naam|"

They get a chance to one day get a joon that is basically oru human life.

I used to think this meant human life as some kathavaachiks say human life, but it only says that this is your chance to meet Gobind - Waheguru - the creator of the Universe and where you've come from - Your home. This would apply to beings of other species who have the ability to meet Waheguru in another galaxy far, far away.

Not a stupid question at all bro, questions like this make everyone think deeply.

Check this out, it's in the parkarma of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib:

    http://en.wikipedia..../Flower_of_Life

The flower of life is an attempt of spiritually bright or even enlightened people to conceptualize how Waheguru made such a Universe where from sub atomic particles can form atoms -> elements -> compounds and shortcut all the way up to single celled life --> multicellular --> human beings.

I know I am missing a lot, but from little I know, this is what i humbly accept as beign true.

great post. :D. there are many many many planets out there. what are we to the universe. it would take eons upon eons to get anywhere in the universe. there must be thousands of different types of animals and aliens out there. probably around way before us. maybe these were getting to god, now earth devolped life and life here was given the opportunity to merge with their creator. why must be so filled with ego to think humans couldnt be made from apes, or that we are special things, gods gift to the universe. and that quote does talk about creation as that is where life started and developed, within water, when you are in the womb, condiotions are vey similar to water. water is a symbol of life. where there is water there is life."I see none as great a giver as you. O Great Giver; You give in charity to the beings of all the continents, worlds, solar systems, nether regions and universes".

  4. according to evoloution life began on earth like 3billion years ago with simple cells. this happened by the creators will. these cells may have been created by organic molecules being created, amino acids (check the miller urey experiment they made amino acids. but no life) these simple cells then began to evolve. anyway complex animals came around 550million years ago. in the seas. these evolved to new animals via natural selection (mutations in genes making the animal better adapted, able to comete better passes on its genes to offspring). the sea animals then appeared on land.

"The True Lord created the air,

    From air, water arose.

    From water, creation arose.

His Light permeates all creation. " guru nanak dev ji. humans developed from ape like creatures in africa. the climate was changing trees which these animals lived in were dissapearing so the apes moved to grassland. developed walking to survive. since then there have been many human species. homo sapians survived.

  5. if you have studied biology, you may know about evoloution. now, we humans evolved from other species, these were animals that were omnivores. so baisically nulls adam and eve, we aren't a special thing. our ancestors ate meat so have these teeth etc. so, as we developed thought and an intellect to think eating animals is wrong etc. and we can survive off fruits eating animals causes pain etc we sympathise with animals hair has alot of benefits vitamin d allows us to stand out.

  6. so I want to go this weekend but when I call apparently no one can or will speak English (even though it says to call on the website). Any tips? Although I am trying to learn basic Punjabi I am not capable of even asking simple questions. If I was to show up tomorrow morning (saturday) what would be the best time? Or should I just wait for Sunday? The schedule is posted for Sunday but is says they are open all days. Thanks again everyone for the help. I have been practicing many aspects of your (our) religion for around a month and so far it has been amazing.

do you have any sikh friends or know sikhs that could go with you? if not i'm sure there will be a an egnlish speaking person in the gurdwara (teenagers or something)

  7. its not going to the place that matters. if i go into a church, after something bad happened and offer support to christians, no sikh will complain. but badal does hindu rituals havans and stuff and takes part in RSS events. going to another place of worship isn't bad.

  8. i just let it dry open on its own. easiest way. you may damage your hair with the heat from a hair dryer also the dryer could remove natural oils from your scalp. natural drying via evaporation is better as it doesnt damage your hair or scalp.

  9. very good point.

Post partion 1947, 40% of Pakistan was non Muslim, today its 2% whats happend to these numbers of non Muslims.

Non Muslims in Pakistan cant get Govt Jobs or in civial service.

i have seen a big sikh singer, traffic cops in the police. its worse being a hindu in pakistan, the government of pakistan actually invests at nankana sahib, unlike the indian government. but a large number of those people fled to india or were killed after partition.

  10. i know what you mean. :| when its cold outside (those winter days) its really hard to get out of bed. maybe you stay in bed because you don't sleep enough, i suggest sleeping earlier. eating high energy foods could help too as you might lack energy. also go outside more like at evening etc. because your body uses light to produce melatonin which helps the bodies natural clock tell you to go to sleep, so you'll get more sleep. the dastaar thing, just practise tying it, so you'll get it right everytime you do it. i aim for comfort and strength. your pagh shouldn't be messy, but don't go overboard with making it look really nice, so that you waste time. and the "no sense to go to school bit" i've not had this problem. i generally enjoy school, maybe this is a case of you not enjoying school?

also, my mum is my alarm clock, she WILL get me up, so why don't you ask a parent or sibling to wake you up.

  11. Man...that guy is such a sell-out. From the video, it appears that the sardar owns a sneaker store. Jim Jones probably knows him in real-life, and he wanted to include him in the video after what happened in Wisconson. I see it as a way of showing solidarity with the Sikh community.

video upload date is 10 june 2012, so it can't be that. This guy is such a <banned word filter activated> >.>
