  1. Theres a lot of fake baba, so what if we showed riddhi sidhi. I think you know what alot of holy people talk about sukhmmani sahiab. Its hard to see anyone a saint if they have millions of dollars around, and theres poor people all over india.

you forgot the story of 2 singhs who attacked the mughal king with ridhi sidhi

    to free patshahi 6vi?

and how much they were scolded and how angry guru sahib were at them?

did you forget the outcome of using ridhi by sahibjaada atal rai sahib ji

and we all know how that went

  2. 1st) is eating meat or any kind of animal or living thing wrong ? if it is can u prove it ?
    not only eating meat
but eating anything for the taste of your tongue is bad !!
but why kill an animal if you have other food to eat?
eating meat is only allowed if you have nothing else to eat
2nd) how do u communicate with dhan shiri guru granth sahib ji ? because they are supposed to give us order *Hukam nama* which we hear every day and there is a meaning written of it but if u ask me most of the time it is an explanation and not an order .... is there a way to talk to waheguru ji ?
no saint , wants to have a chat, they just give you a hukam , same is our guru granth sahib ji,
our guru is not interested in chatter the forbid it for sikhs too
3rd) how did guru nanak became a guru / ie - found waheguru ?
dhan guru nanak was avtar of akal purakh , he was given guru ship by akal purakh , thats how he passed on the guru ships jot to next guru
4th) im a vegetarian my whole family wants to eat chicken / meat and i do not let them is it wrong ? we have prakash of guru granth sahib ji at our roof ... but we live on a different floor !
two other floors are consumed by other people ie - not family etc and they cook meat etc .. so what should i do ? i feel like i should let them eat but i dont want it to be cooked in front of me i feel unconformable..
yes tell them , making meat for the taste of tongue is wrong
5th) if guru nanak is the messenger what about other religions... should not they change religions ?
in history sikhs and niether our gurus have forced anyone to change religion, dhan guru granth sahib ji is guru of whole world
they should change religions but taking amrit is no simple thing, its only allowed if you were permited by guru sahib
6th) how is wearing a hat wrong ? if u belong to a sikh family and u havent taken amrit ?
there are keshadari sikhs, who keep hair
and sehajdhari who are growing it and not going to cut hair anymore .
why did guru sahib gave you hands , so you could tie beautiful turban , which our gurus and martyrs protected .
if you wear a heat , then its better that you were born as a leper , turban is crown of head

7th) why do we care so much about case *hair* ? i mean when u comb u pick it up ! but if u wash or have a shower its stuck in trash u just pick it up and throgh it in trash isnt that wrong ?
we dont throw them , we collect them and keep them in pocket or a bag then cremate them latter , they are our guru's stamp to signify we are his sikhs
8th) why do most people support / follow khalistan / jarnail singh ? he was not a guru people should follow guru granth sahib ji instead don't u think ?
you should research more , or read the gallant defender by a r darshi
9th) people say waheguru ji ka khalsa wahe guru ji ki fateh when they meet if ur with some one and u do not know them isnt it ok then just not to say it ?
khalsa is gurus very own form , in order times when there we not many gurudwara sahibs
when a sikh met another sikh, he did parikrama and bowed to his feet, that thankyou gurusahib i have got darshan of your roop
khalsa is guru's very own form

10th) i took amrit 2 times ... i am a sexual being *kammi* i have broken it ... two times i can not stop is it wrong for me to keep wearing the 5 ks ?
why did you break it, was there no faith in guru;s words? or you think that was not for you?
or the lives shaheeds gave were not for you? ever thought about it? have you ever sought help of other singhs or sangat to help with kam? to control it??

11th) why is it wrong to question god ?
we question guru granth sahib ji and he gives hukamnama :)
    12) my friend showed me on wiki that guru gobind singh had more than one wife ... i cant find it again but here is an example http://imgur.com/49Ls3me
we had a discussion and it didn't come to an conclusion ,,, what do u guys think ? i believe he had only one wife ...
    guru sahib had 3 wife's
mata jito ji mata sundri ji and khalsa's mother mata sahib kaur ji

13th) in punjab i have seen people making meat in langar ... and most people believe that most sikhs eat meat to gain strength / power before war i believe it is not true that is what amrit was for was not it ?
i will not post clarifaction here as it would lead to offtopic discussion , if you want i can inbox you
14th) why do u revolve around guru while getting married ?isnt it weird ? also why doesn't girl get to walk in front ? if boy can ? doesn't sikhi have equality ?
have you ever heard about taking guru's wife's name before guru or any avatar in history ? no
we revolve around guru because guru granth sahib ji is physical manifestation of akal purakh

15th) i was watching movie pk .. and it explains how people should follow true god and not the god / religion humans made ... as they are differentiating people from each other ... but most people claim guru's were human which is actually true if u ask me.. but if u look in the past guru gobind singh ji told us "agya payi akal ki tabhi chalayo panth" what is the difference in panth and religion ? and how can we come over this doubt ? but isnt its actually true religions are making us divided ? aren't we all the same but we are different due to religion ?
english words dont do justice to gurmukhi words
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rajiv-malhotra/dharma-religion_b_875314.html?ir=India

panth is collection of khalsa's amritdhari's its a family of guru gobind singh ji and mata sahib kaur ji
khalsa was created to protect weak uphold the law , it does not devide , it reigns justice on evil
  3. Savinderpalsingh , I have been following your all posts , in this thread you have been stressing to say that your point is only correct one , if this is the purpose , what is the use of discussion then ? it seems that you have not studied the Sikh Thought properly . The Gotra consideration in Matrimonial relations has tyo do with casteism only , which has no place in Our Faith .please have a reading of Different rehatnameys ( in Punjabi Originals not the Translations by Brits ) and you will know about hollowness of Your Arguements

i think i have stated my points well enough, cast-ism is not to promote high or low of an individual but to state the area of their origins and bloodline roots. which does turn into genetic defects later down the line,

  6. Sangat Ji,

I became an amritdari/keshdari 10 years ago, but now want to cut my kesh, and become a sahajdari sikh.

I believe that all the Saheeds of Sikhi, were martyred for freedom, the freedom to be a Sikh, a Hindu or whatever. I don’t think anyone should be blackmailed into being forced to keep kesh, if one chooses to cut kesh – all the guilt tripping is wrong.

The Guru’s & Sikhs fought, died, lived for freedom. If one is motivated to become an amritdari then that person should have the freedom to pursue it. If 10 years later, as I am, wants to leave amrit, then why is it made so fundamentally difficult?

You can be a sahajdari and still jaap naam, do kirat, and donate 10% (which few amritdari’s do, I only did it one year).

And I don’t have to give my reasons for wanting to cut kesh to anyone, thank Waheguru I live in liberal democracy, not a theocratic-police state.

While I don’t wish to give my reasons, I want to solicit arguments for me keeping my kesh. Because in the big scheme of things, is it so wrong, to cut kesh, but still be a god fearing Sikh? When I die, if I don’t go to hell, or 84 lakh cycle, and by some miracle see the Guru’s & Saheeds, I will bow and say “I was weak and unworthy, I did what I could in my life, but I just can’t keep kesh out of fear, guilt, recrimination of fellow Sikhs. I choose to become an amritdari, and 10 years later I cut my kesh, I am a sinner, but whatever I am, I am still a Sikh, be it the most unworthy Sikh.”

    Regards,

    Anon,

    Ps,

I am reasonably educated, intelligent person, and don’t believe cutting my hair will make me outcast, since I may take amrit again in the future. But if people say I am outcast, have commited a cardinal/treacherous sin – I almost feel like saying so be it! Yes I am a wretched manmukh, though all western political philosophy, science is derived by putting the bible and the Abrahamic Gods word aside, and using manmukhi to think of the answers to the fundamental questions of the human condition.

if you cut kesh you will loose gurus mohar hence you wont be a sikh anymore

sehajdhari means who has kept kesh and will continue to grow it slowly

    not the modern version

people who cut kesh dont follow in any catagory of sikhs

you want to be an outcast, why not write a bedawa and give it to guru sahib !!

    you will officialy be out

dhare kesh pahul bin bhekhi moorakh sikh mere darshan nahe te, paapi tyaage chit !!

  7. For benefit of all let me quote sikh rehst maryada published by SGPC which was approved by panth after much delibrations and taking view of all sampradayes on 3 feb 1945. It says on page page 25 under the heading "Sikh sikhnu da vyaah bina jaat , paat , got de vichar de hona chahiye" .Would any one singh give interpretation what does this mean? So far in our family (we are five brothers ) neither our parents or we nor our next generation gives any preference to jaat or gots in making aliances fir matrimony.

the gott restriction is only for genetics issue and as they are from same family tree, almost related .

so yes its a no no

however for your satisfaction i will soon post the quote from rehatnama,

  8. Any discussion on this subject is meaningless unless we understand properly the 'farla'.

My guess is that all the early Sikhs proudly had a farla in their dastars as it was the mark of a Sikh, i.e noble warriors who proudly stood up to extremist sunni Muslim ideology.

A little historical context is needed here. Prior to the formation of Islam it was Christians and Jews that wore turbans. Indeed, the turban was essential for Jews as the crowns upon their heads. Islam, however, proclaimed that only Muslims could wear a turban as it was mark of a Muslim. The Pact of Omar subsequently made it illegal for any Jew or Christian to wear a turban. This essential muslim headwear was notable for it's 'tail', as prescribed in the quran. For Sunni Muslims, the dastar must have a tail hanging down. Shia Islam, which was quite influential among the Sikhs given the cultural affinity of people such as Bhai Mardana etc, did not wear a tail in their turbans. Sikhs, deliberately had a farla in their dastars as it was the complete opposite of what the sunni muslims wore and a direct dare to them to do something about it if they can. Instead of the essential tail hanging down the Sikhs had a flag proudly going up. The flag that flies proudly above our heads, so to speak.

Point is, in terms of origins, there is nothing purely spiritual or divine about it. It was always a statement. So, as someone in a previous message described the video as a "fashion statement", he or she is not far from the truth in a historical context.

The farla then, is the mark of a Sikh, in contrast to the muslim tail in the turban.

you better watch what you are saying, farla was given by Guru Gobind Singh ji

do you even have any idea who farla dhari are and their jeevan?do you even know how hard is the rehat of farla dhari and how hard it is to obtain a farla!!

search it before you spout something again here

  9. Well there no instructions regarding Dastaar, but rather Gurubani says," bhekhi rabb na paey" that is you cannot receive God by wearing any guise or dress. And if you think , in Guru Granth Sahib ji , bani of saints like Kabir, Ravidas, Namma, Ramdev, and baba Farid is included by 5th Guru Ramdaas ji . Now these holy men had trimmed beards, shaven heads, some had headgear and some didn't. Because there is not fullness of truth left among Sikhs and their scholars, they are introducing symbols and trying to hold things together. I am afraid that will not be sufficient to quench the spiritual thirst of a person.

I am a latter-saints and read and listen to Gurbani day and night. I understand Gurubani shabad , because I have been endowed with the Gift of the Holy Ghost ( Ram naam ). Gurbani can only be understood by this gift as Gurbani was written by Gurus by the power of the Holy Ghost. You cannot understand the coded language of Gurbani simply by reciting.

And againg, this gift of Ram naam cannot be obtained by reciting Waheguru, rather it has to be bestowed upon by someone have authority from God.That authority vanished with the Tenth Guru. But Guru Govind ji left prophecies about the Restoration of that Authority and Khalis Dharm in our day, which has happened and I belong to that company of the saints. That is my firm faith and testimony. Anyone can find out.
