  1. Thank you Veer ji for posting links been reading slowly past day and half to absorb 'everything'

would like pointers to trustworthy volumes and historians in English for my young'uns could you and sangat give me an idea they are teenagers so nothing too childish (like my old volume set from seventies , I can use that with Isher Kaur) Thank you once again.

you can use ratan singh jagi

    giani gian singh

    veer singh

    ganda singh

    bhat vahis

    pandit narain singh from lahore

you can start with twarikh gur khalsa - 12 volumes of history

and samsher khalsa vol 1 and 2

  2. Can you show me any primary text, Sooraj Prakash, Pracheen Panth Prakash, Panth Prakash of Giani Giani Singh, Mehma Prakash, anything puratan that even mentioned the term "Chatka Gatka"? Why is it that out of 2.5 crore Sikhs, a dodgy individual like Niddar is the only one in the whole world to know this while all Nihangs of India are ignorant of this art?

no one is ignorant, this is a well kept art and is not disclosed to everyone .

only the worthy and trustworthy are taught

  3. there was never any martial art called "shastarvidya". Shastar Vidya just means knowledge of weapons. Before Niddar renamed his martial art as SV sometime after 2000, the term "Shastar Vidya" was used in Punjabi for all arts involving weapons. Even modern military training can be classified as Shastar Vidya just as Gatka or any other martial art that involves weapons can be termed as Shaster Vidya.

I still clearly remember when Niddar had created his site originally. He used to call his martial art as Chatka Gatka. When he realized how ridiculous that sounded he then renamed it as Shastar Vidya after reading a passage from Giani Gian Singh's Panth Prakash where he lamented that Sikhs of his time no longer know how to to use weapons since now they have taken up other (non martial) professions such as Dukaandhari. He was not alluding to some martial art called SV that some individual in the UK now practices. Furthermore, just look all at what Nihangs in India have been practicing for years all their lives. It is Gatka, not some fancy shmancy martial art of Niddar. There are still students alive who learnt from the Gatka Ustad of Niddar, they also practice Gatka.

It is not a martial art that is bad, but it takes the individual's skill level that makes him a good fighter.

Taran had created a thread not too long ago exposing the lies being spread by Niddar and his associates in regards to Niddar's SV.

    http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/68422-balanced-view-of-hindu-sikh-shaster-vidiya/

there was a statement , and recording present on facebook of shastarvidya by ex jathedar of akali phoola singh bunga

and clarrified this was ang of shatar vidya and yes it is also called jhatka

  4. excellent video. Despite the intense propaganda by Niddar's crew, the truth will eventually shine through. Gatka was widely practiced throughout India, especially North India. Just look at what Rajputs practice, it is the same as Gatka. Cisco mentioned the soldiers of Abdali. Abdali was formerly a general in Nadir Shah's army. The Pathans are a persianate race. They most probably learnt sword fighting of the Persians and central Asians. Just look at this video of how ancient Persian sword fighting looks like:

Notice how similar the circular motions are to Gatka. This is what the Afghans and Persian soldiers of Nadir Shah and Abdali were practicing. None of the Kung Fu bs that a certain individual invented and has started passing it off as being "puraatan".

gatka has been present in kalaripatu as well

so we could say this is an easy and fast to learn method

which would be common amongst soldiers, before they actually learnt shastarvidya and became nipun in it

  5. Oh God, I just asked for the purpose of recitation only that as "mool mantra', till where it should be recited. Why will I want ot fight :sad2:

Also, if something is to be done, and it is done in the right way, then won't it benefit him/her more ?

What if the person who does not know how to eat, drops half the food out of the plate and puts very little in his mouth? Isn't it our responsibility to teach him. Doing something in 'any' way cannot be right at all times.

Obviously if there are two ways and both ways are correct (which I gather from your answer), then one can choose any. I was not asking for a single pint perspective but just a thought on it.

there are many here who just fight over miniscual things, even if you ask giani sher singh ji you will get same reply.

    however to answer your question

    its upto "hosi bhi sach"

  6. Just one question here.

The Mool Mantra Sahib ends at 'Gurprasad' or "Nanak Hosi bhi Sach'?

depends you want to ask for recitation? or you want to do discussion waste everyone and yours time and fight on it?

for someone who is hungry , when you put food infront?

    what will that person do?

    A. Eat the food in anyway he'she can, ?

    B, ask how to eat?

if you can answer this you got your answer

  7. I would get a blood test done to see if your mineral profile is high enough, the melanocytes may be switched off if you are low in copper and other minerals, but, I would start eating uncooked veggies and fruit right now to repair the damage. look up raw vegan and gray hair reversing, I have seen actual people who have reversed the graying process by changing diet.

    p.s. you could wear a dastar , I do

does change of diet really do that?
