  1. One small bit in that article is not true.

West Midlands Police didn't invest £000's of pounds. The officer concerned was paid on normal salary to find a solution before wmp pulled the plug on the project

Also the 2001 census says that there are 336,000 sikhs in the uk, not 750,000

  2. There is emphasis being placed on promoting 1 million chaupai sahib jaap and project 25 during the celebrations.

Furthermore there are NO bhangra shows there, which has been the case for the last couple of years. 'Live entertainment' is mainly referring to the dharmak stage and gatka demos.

Last but not least, sewadaars are needed for darbar sahib, please contact kiratraj singh(number is on the poster shown below, or alternatively email sikhthetruth@hotmail.co.uk

  3. What needs to be done is have a Sikh body that represents what is acceptable and what isnt in Indian drama's and films. So that before anyone creats a production or writes a sript they have it checked by the Sikh organisation for its content and if its deemed unsuitable it should be changed or scrapped and if the producers insist on protraying Sikhs in negative manor then strong action would be called for. Only few years ago babber khalsa bombed a cinema in new delhi after several warnings by Sikh organisations that the film jo bole sohnihal had scenes that would cause alot of offence to Sikhs. After ignoring the peaceful protests and warnings.. babbar khalsa activists took it upon themselves to bomb a cinema whose management insisted in showing the film.

So these producers should be careful and be sensetive to peoples religious passions.

How do you know the Babbars bombed that cinema? When Bhai Hawara (head of BK) was arrested, he admitted to most charges (ie conspiracy in killing CM Beant etc) but strongly denied having any part in the cinema blasts.

There are plenty of individuals and groups in india who would happily create a pretext for maligning Sikhs.

Lets face it many moderate Sikh organisations had said at the time that showing the film would inflame religious sikh passions and some cinema owners didnt listen most of punjab didnt show it. So the radicals took matters into their own hands and made sure people who went to see the film risked their lives... no one else would benefit from it apart from radical organisations like babbar khalsa. Indian govt has a track record for deception and framing Sikhs in so called counter insurgency operations or "encounters" but... it was pretty easy to understand why radical militant Sikhs would take it upon themselves to send a message such films would not be tolerated.

hmmm, thats why the chief of such a tight knit organisation admitted to other charges but denied the bombings.

  5. im sure i typed some stuff up and said please read between the lines about what i am saying. Ok here it is in simple terms. People who have lived and worked in crews have told me what i typed.

Also although the images of the grafitti (with a marker?!!!) seem to have gone from the thread, a friend told me that the grafitti said "LFC E2" i.e. suggetsing that the crew was from the E2 postcode area .

The London fields crew are meant to be from E9 !!

Kinda odd for a crew to get their postcode wrong .. dont you think?

again this is what i have been told by someone from the area, i have not checked it. Please check it out for yourself if you need to.

From the meeting with the police/community last week (it was cancelled on the day) there were several members of the community who were also convinced that some knew more then they were letting on. But these people were told to be quiet and were not allowed to speak. It definetly seems that somebody knows something, but maybe due to fear is not speaking out.

Also the description of the arsonist has now ranged from black, to half, to white, to asain, to dark asain, to somalian etc. I.e for some reason the witnesses seem to keep changing the description. I duno why, maybe we need to see what the police have been told? Does anyone have a copy of offical police release?

The eye witnesses have also at some stage say they remember what happened, and later say that they didnt remember anything.

    Something is definetly wrong.

true, even some of the local sangat there have said that the gurdwara has been established for many years, and they have not had problems with local gangs in the area.

apparently the sangat also hold functions on the field opposite the gurdwara named 'SIKH sangat' on vaisakhi and bandi chhor, so i'm sure that the locals would know the difference between a mosque and a gurdwara

  6. I remember watching a video a 5-6years ago from gta in which narinder grewal was sitting on a couch with some of his chelay (so called singhs and kaurs) sitting around him.

In the video, grewal used obscene language against Guru Nanak Dev Jee and Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj.

Apparently this video was distributed to sangat in canada and people exposed him as a result.

Not sure if theres any more copies still going around.?

n.b. grewals meant to be living in the luton area and has trimmed his beard since. I have a recent pic of him which I'll try and upload

    more info on him

  7. Going slightly off topic and regarding this so called sant-indira connection. this is my take on it, apologies for any mistakes

During the late 70s Indira acquired dictatorial powers and suspended the constitution. she imprisoned political opponents, communists etc.....

The only people to stand up to her were the sikhs led by the akali dal.

she also didnt take kindly to the speech made by Sant Kartar Singh at Guru Tegh Bahadurs shaheedi program.

After her re-election, her son Sanjay passed away which led to her depression problems

Also she knew that Sikhs could challenge her rule and wanted a pawn to stand against the Akali's.

Moreover according to sangat singh, nehru had a secret document, meant for successor pm's, which outlined how to deal with the sikhs

This is where people come out with the bs that sant jee was congressi. but sant jarnail singh only cared about the panth and wasnt about to become a politicians pawn.

So as Darshi in his book states, Indira, fearing the Sikh morchas, started secret negotiations with Longowal who did not get on with Sant Jarnail Singh.

What followed was a step up in propaganda against sant jarnail singh and the whole 'congress agent' theory, supported by Longowals akalis. This provided the pretext for op bluestar to follow.

As for calling her sister, bibi - Sant Jarnail Singh always referred to others with respectable titles, even if that 'other' was Indira

  8. Personally I won't be buying this book. Knowing what dodgy views both authors hold I don't want to be putting money in their pockets so that they can continue parchar of their views.

true, but that highlights the problem with our naive community, we can never make a united stand against ppl who try to manipulate the panth under the guise of gursikhs. the question that needs to be asked is, who is in the background pulling the strings.

  9. Modi headed for London in May

AHMEDABAD: London may well be the stepping stone for Chief Minister Narendra Modi to get a US visa. High on the success of Vibrant Gujarat summit

last month, Chief Minister Narendra Modi is set to fly down to London to attend the ‘India Summit 2009’ scheduled on May 19-20.

Modi was denied a US visa in 2005 and was forced to call off his UK visit that year as he was denied diplomatic cover, which would have exposed him to hostile protests from human rights groups.

Modi will address about 500 delegates from all over the world at this summit and his participation has already been confirmed, according to official website of the event. Modi supporters believe that after the London visit, a US visa would naturally follow, given the change of guard in Washington.
