1. What do you mean here? Kindly , elaborate. What I'm saying is just pure facts. Recorded facts with manuscript support.....

Auzer bro, since you are on a Sikh forum, I should explain to you what Mehtab Veer is saying. In Sikhism we believe that once a person reaches full spiritual enlightenment they become Brahmgianis. And Brahmgiani means, Brahm- world/universe Gian-knowledge. So we believe, Bhai Gurdas ji, Kavi Santokh Singh ji, Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale were all brahmgianis. In Gurbani, specifically Sukhmani Sahib this is explained in great depth. To us Sikhs, accounts of such enlightened beings are much much more accurate than of some PhD "scholar."

  2. At one point the total fertility rate for women was 3.4 whereas the number goes up to 4.5 for Muslim women. That is a HUGE difference.

Here is another article comparing Muslim fertility rates to other non muslim nations. Although they are decreasing, they are still a lot more than non muslim nations.

Here is another Islam Q/A website:

"Having a lot of children is something that is encouraged in Islam and the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) urged Muslims to do that. Abu Dawood (2050) narrated that Ma’qil ibn Yazaar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Allaah, I have found a woman who is from a good family and is beautiful, but she does not bear children; should I marry her?” He told him not to. Then he came to him a second time and said something similar and he told him not to marry her. Then he came to him a third time and said something similar and he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Marry the one who is loving and fertile, for I will be proud of your great numbers.”

Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 1784."

  3. 1971? REALLY?!?! It was naked Indian aggression....You trained Mukti Bahini , funded insurgency ...and invaded East Pakistan... Invading an isolated small enemy force that is away from its mainland...without any supply lines..without weapons for conventional war..engaged in a civil war, and is surrounded by three sides....is a VERY coward act , if I may say.

So have I said anything wrong here?

Cowardice was when your army RAPED the Bangladeshi women. Cowardice was when your people tortured Sikh women, cut up their children and put them around their necks. Cowardice was when your people used to take away Hindu women and take away their honor. Cowardice is when your people are allowed to sexually exploit your OWN women. Cowardice was when death sentence was urged for a young mentally disabled girl "desecrating" the Quran which YOUR PAKISTANI people are PUSHING TOWARDS.

Wanting to kill a Christian woman for Blasphemy in Shiekhpura Pakistan is Cowardice.

Cowardice is you telling us that we should be thankful you didn't kill our people in East Punjab.

Cowardice is when YOUR PAKISTANI people commit atrocities on women. My Sikh Brothers would never stoop to that level.

If attacking women is not Cowardice then I don't know what is. Then you wonder why we criticize Pakistan.

  4. Now coming to your question : Sufism is the part of Islam from the very inception. Read up on "Tasawuf" in Islam... People make fun of 'jaali' babas that are too common in sub-continent.... No one disrespects Sufis...but some of their followers to go to extreme and sometime even pray from the sufi saint...which is not right according to some Muslims...So yeah...Sufism is the part of Islam.....some might not adapt this way of Islam..but this doesn't mean that Sufism is some "bidah" .... Grave-worshipping is Bidah..not Sufism.....

Sufism is itself the part of mainstream Islam....

One of the main reasons you believe Sufism is Islam is due to your Pakistani background. I personally believe Sufism is great. My point here is MAJORITY MUSLIMS do not accept Sufism as a part of Islam. Speak to a Pashtun or in fact go to Saudi and ask anyone if they believe Sufism is a part of Islam. I GUARANTEE you that none of them will accept Sufism. So your claim that Islam has gotten so many converts due to Sufism is false. The truth is, Islam WAS spread by the sword and may even be to some extent now. Truth is Christianity and Islam, the two major religions have spread because of Violence and history clearly proves that.

Even Dr. Zakir Naik, one of the most respected scholar in the Muslim community has claimed that Sufism is incorrect.

So how can a sect of Islam that is not accepted by MAJORITY Muslims themselves be the cause for spread of Islam?

  5. Anyways , on a serious note , you are wrong. "Sword" can not convert hundred of millions of people...It were Sufi Saints who converted crores and crores of people. Even today , Hindus and Sikhs alike flock to the "Mazaars" of these great men of Allah.... Even here in the United States , Sikhs ALWAYS go to the "Mehfils" (sittings) where people from these darbaars come etc... So it was not sword.

I respectfully disagree. I believe that Islam and Christianity were spread by the swords. Sufi Saints aren't even considered "Muslim" by the majority Muslim population. I know many muslims and they all mock sufis. Especially Sunnis. Because they believe that singing and music is Haram which is backed by Islamic Ideology. Can you explain more about these Mazars or Mehfils of the great men of Allah?

The truth is brother, Sufism is not accepted by mainstream Islam. It is considered Shirk and Bi'dah. So how can you claim that sufism is what helped "spread islam."

Islam was spread by the sword and now it is spreading due to reproduction (no offense brother but look at statistics)

Brother just some clarification. I am in no way degrading your religion or attempting to insult you. I am just trying to present an argument to your claim.

  6. Brother , conversion here is not even a problem...the whole plot of the play was something else! And she is NOT degrading Sikhi...she is just telling her husband that when she converted..she did it with heart because she is a woman of principles...UNLIKE her 'Muslim drunkard husband' ..Read my last reply...I have explain all this....this drama potrays Sikhs BETTER than Muslims... Please read my last post....

I'm a sister by the way :) anyways brother ok if she converted and did it with heart why is the show called Bilqees Kaur? Why the Kaur aspect of it? I find that wrong since Kaur is only used by Sikh women.

  7. Auzer brother, I have never seen a show about a Muslim girl converting to Sikhi. So why make one about a Sikh woman converting to Islam? And specifically calling it Bilqees KAUR??? When she clearly degrades Sikhi again and again in the show especially at 17:26. So why name is Bilqees KAUR? Surely they should have expected protest against it and should have foreseen the hurt sentiments of the Sikhs.

  8. Yes that's what i meant but its intertwined with free will as well gurbani talks about how bad karma can be reduced or destroyed as well too, by blessing of Vahiguroo via guru sahib and its saints when an individual start going to sadh sangat- soceity of saints/gurmukhs, start doing nishkham seva, naam simran and with full faith start doing ardas to Guru Maharaj.

Pre-odained in a sense- karma nature cycle taking its course..!!.It may be not your mind at this current state that did those karam in your previous life but all your previous karam history are stored in your sub consciousness...karma nature cycle will takes its course until one with his free will keep elevating themselves spiritually by doing good karmas, nishkham seva, ardas, gurbani patt, naam simran, doing sadh sangat - soceity of saints.

So does that mean that information from our previous janams can be retained? Although its not recommended but is it possible?

  9. There was another shooting recently at the Empire State building where a man killed his boss but in crossfire with the police 9 other bystanders were injured. And it is believed that all of the bullets that injured the bystanders were from the NYPD.

It seems like a lot of these shootings just started happening all of a sudden past 4 or so years.

  10. Disagree- someone walking into a gurdwara who is a non believer may be enlightened by coming in, and how do you define non believers as there are already many people who are non believers but born in sikh families that go into gurdwara at times...... Gurdwara is a place open to all.

I agree. Guru Ghar is for everyone. Harmandir Sahib has 4 doors to show that anyone is welcome. We cannot say that we shouldn't invite "non believers" into the Gurdwara thats ridiculous.

  11. Do whatever you do with sharda. Whether its the full Chaupaee Sahib or the Budha Dal Gutka one or even the shortened one.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji says "Sach Kahoon Suhn Leyo Sabhai, Jihn Prem Kio Tin Hi Prabh Paayo"

Read Gurbani at any time of the day and remember God. Chaupaee Sahib is a beyantee bani. Do Beyantee anytime of the day remember Waheguru Ji and Guru Sahiban any time.

Prem and Sharda is what Maharaj sees. :smile2:

  12. How could history major students not know who Sikh's are?

‘Students now need to be able to carry guns to protect themselves from armed intruders. Think Columbine and Virginia Tech, as well as the Aurora movie theater and Milwaukee Mosque. Is there really any question?’

    Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2190141/University-Colorado-Gun-carrying-students-segregated-dorms.html#ixzz24EbHluB0

When I read this article I was just like WOW how much more media coverage do you need to know it was a SIKH TEMPLE not a WISCONSIN MOSQUE!!!!

Like come on that much ignorance?

  13. I do path like this sometimes and I believe yes it does count. For example when I do Jap Ji Sahib da path since I have it memorized I just keep reciting and I glance at the translations so I know exactly what I am saying. So do not worry keep your faith and keep going :biggrin2:

And for learning to do path from a Gurmukhi Gutka Sahib, I agree with bhenji above. Just do a few ashtpadi's and then continue in the way that is most comfortable with you.

  14. jaljug !! class! sansaar saagar!

    (i no it was a typo) :p

    LOL Jaljug

and I'm going through the same thing because college is about to start and classes are early for me so I am struggling to find a schedule

  15. Very sorry to hear this but Sikhs especially in India (both in and out of Punjab) are giving themselves a week image. With a big Bhangra scene and Floppywood making us look like idiots.

If you go to punjab now and say to them to put on a panthic channel on TV they look at you as if you are from Mars or something !, they would rather watch B4U or some other waste of space channel as they are all in some twisted Love triangles..

Exactly!!! I feel as if there is less Sikhi Parchar in the youth. Everyone is absorbed into love stories this and that sass bahu serials. They would rather rush home and watch their serials than stay at the gurdwara and listen to kirtan. I was shocked at everyone's lack of interest in bani and Guru Ghars. This was my experience. It is very sad actually. In fact they would rather watch ramayan or a show about Krishna or something than watch Gurbani on tv.
