  1. 70% love marriages turning into a divorce in California

We live in a society where marriage has lost it's value. 70 percent of marriages are ending in divorce. Why? Because the purpose of marriage is not understood. Furthermore, people have little support in the journey of their soul and little support in their community

those 70% are Christians or Atheists? Please, use a Sikh Demographic rather than a general Demographic to get your point across.
  2. Actually Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale said the opposite. Everyone is born Sikh. After mundan the person is a Hindu, and after sunnat a Muslim.

It depends on your definition of Sikh: someone who keeps uncut hair or someone who takes Amrit of Khande Di Pahul? The other option before 1699 was Charan Pahul Di Amrit.
  3. You don't need to apologise. The truth is that all humans - men and women grow hair. Our hair starts growing more at a certain stage in our life to mark the change from child to adult. Hair used to be a sign of responsibility and believe it or not but our hair is our unique fingerprint. If you study your hair carefully it forms patterns but this pattern, just like your fingerprint, is not the same as anyone else's hair pattern. If you study history - hair became socially unacceptable around the time companies like Gillette were formed. Prior to this women had body hair and men kept beards freely. Advertising has strongly advocated hair to be dirty and the words like clean-shaven implies this. Factually, shaving causes more harm than good - cuts, infections, ingrown hairs and now with the rise of the adult entertainment industry - more parts of the body have became socially unacceptable to grow hair and, again, people are brainwashed into accepting this.

I am very content with my kesh. I wake up happy and I feel proud that I am one of the few people on this planet who is completely and totally happy to be in my natural human form. I cannot describe the freedom that I have. It is liberating to not have to conform to the false beliefs and practices of society by plucking, shaving, waxing, threading, bleaching. Hair should not be such a big issue because the fact is - all humans have it, hair is normal, why hate it and find it abnormal?

Most of us in the west pride ourselves on our autonomy, our independence, the ability to make up our own mind, to be free, to be able to make rational decisions based on evidence and fact. The fact is that all humans have hair yet humans find it abnormal to see another human with hair. Are we following fact, are we being rational, are we thinking independently when we decide hair is not normal.

I am very content with my natural human form - I feel lucky to have been exposed to the sikh concept of naturality because otherwise I would have never known the truth and I would have spent my whole life never truly accepting my body hair. Its great to know the truth and to be able to embrace it.

I was referring to how people treated you.
  4. I have the opposite problem. I am a sikh girl who does not remove kesh anywhere - no eyebrow, arms, legs and I cannot find a sikh boy who will accept that. All the sikh turban boys with beards want a girl who shaves.

I apologize for all the men who treated you that way. There can be hypocrites that dress-up like us.
  5. It will only be a matter of time when the army of islam and the hindus meet I think it'll be a huge war and sikhs have to mind our own business n not get involved cos we no how grateful hindus r.

We are righteous soldiers, even if the rest of the world doesn't like us, we still believe in Shaheedi because ultimately we are the ones who choose to follow the Guru, it is us getting Mukti not them.
  6. As u can see Mehtab paji is busy. Lol sirh khandh ch marda busy a....so I will give my opinion, if I may.

So u decided to get married after few wks?

So u realised caste would matter after few wks, but didn't before, and to confirm it she is going to ask her mom, coz she don't know if it matters and has remembered her family now?

And if the mom says no, then is she going to dump you?

And you want to lie to ur future in laws about ur caste, yeah great idea, they will respect u for that, " leh putt Sadi kudi Teri a, baut Changa jwai a sada, Sach da saath dinda, par ik gal ni Samj Ayi. Viah te putt jattan de gaiyi janda c".. ?. ? ? ?

how does a Sikh be honest about their caste? Answer: Khalsa.
  7. VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

Many in Greece, through the recent economic recession that hit them hard, has turned to a very racist slant. They formed a recent political party (Golden Dawn) which is quite racist and targeting immigrants to blame for their woes (very Nazi-esque). All immigrant communities in Greece would do well to remain very vigilant.

    we should arm ourselves everywhere!
  8. Have you ever read in the newspaper that a political leader or a prime minister from an Islamic nation has visited Japan?

Have you ever come across news that the Ayatollah of Iran or the King of Saudi Arabia or even a Saudi Prince has visited Japan?

Japan has put strict restrictions on Islam and ALL Muslims.

    The reasons are:

    a) Japan is the only nation that does not give citizenship to Muslims.

    b) In Japan permanent residency is not given to Muslims.

    c) There is a strong ban on the propagation of Islam in Japan.

    d) In the University of Japan, Arabic or any Islamic language is not taught.

    e) One cannot import a Koran published in the Arabic language.

    f) According to data published by the Japanese government, it has given temporary residency to only 2 lakhs, Muslims, who must follow the Japanese Law of the Land. These Muslims should speak Japanese and carry their religious rituals in their homes.

    g) Japan is the only country in the world that has a negligible number of embassies in Islamic countries.

    h) Japanese people are not attracted to Islam at all.

    I) Muslims residing in Japan are the employees of foreign companies.

    j) Even today, visas are not granted to Muslim doctors, engineers or managers sent by foreign companies.

    k) In the majority of companies it is stated in their regulations that no Muslims should apply for a job.

    l) The Japanese government is of the opinion that Muslims are fundamentalist and even in the era of globalization they are not willing to change their Muslim laws.

    m) Muslims cannot even think about renting a house in Japan.

    n) If anyone comes to know that his neighbour is a Muslim then the whole neighbourhood stays alert.

    o) No one can start an Islamic cell or Arabic Madrasa in Japan.

    p) There is no Sharia law in Japan.

    q) If a Japanese woman marries a Muslim then she is considered an outcast forever.

    r) According to Mr. Cumin Yagi, Professor of Arab/Islamic Studies at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, There is a mind frame in Japan that Islam is a very narrow minded religion and one should stay away from it.

    s) Freelance journalist Mohammed Juber toured many Islamic countries after 9/11 including Japan. He found that the Japanese were confident that extremists could do no harm in Japan.

Do these people know about Sikhs? Or are they going to be ignorant and shoot us as well?
  9. Sikhs are a martial people yet have had very little to no success on international stage in sports like boxing wrestling mma

in the west the number of Sikhs going into armies is very very little as well

have Sikhs lost their martial culture

I read about Sikhs being bullied or muslims bullying sikhs

is this cause Sikhs have lost their martial culture?

Are you giving a suggestion or telling us something?
  10. wahegurujikakhalsa wahegurujikifateh

    i came across this video

where a sikh is wrongly accused and beaten by singhs

    https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=807510935947667

following images on close inspection reveal , as to be photoshopped

    2wmgeoi.jpg

    2mgv5w4.jpg

    mmsuqh.jpg

is the beating here justified? im not sure

or perhaps he id was hacked?

i am not sure in this

but the pics are photoshopped for sure

this beating is NOT justified; however, Shiv Sena knows that Sikhs will do nothing about it, they know that Sikhs will most likely waste their time arguing on meaningless stuff.
  11. if we take hukam that without pahul/rehit binaa na sikh kaheva then most people have non-sikh inlaws/parents you cannot be sikh by just being born into a sikh household ...you have to make the step towards Guru ji yourself by give sir da bheta and taking pahul ...and living the life of a Gursikh ...

Salok in Japji Sahib gives you balance in terms of viewing others ... Karmi apo apnee , ke nehrde ke door... even in Guru ji's ghar there are examples of that ...

My inlaws are not of our culture, country or dharam but I don't hold it against them , I just stick to my lifestyle and asool in line with gurmat my household is a gursikh one. funny thing is they are getting exposure to gurbani from other quarters too , my bro in law came to me to ask the meaning of something ...the mool mantar ...apparently his yoga teacher in Brasil is using mool manter as a meditation before session . My cousins in law have been to the gurdwara in Sao Paulo.

    that's nice to know.
  12. They calling it seva but seems more like beadbi to me. Does anyone have the contact details for these people?

I know that they're trying to be respectful when the creamate Guru Sahib's pothi, they usually do it if even one Ang is out of place. Also, they secretly never wanted you to see that, they usually creamate Mahraj in a very private room that only their Gyani knows(only 1 Gyani, not even Punj Pyare). Only Guru Sahib knows if it was respectful or not, there have been worse scenarios in the world to Guru Sahib, I just don't know the issue enough to do anything.
  13. According to Islam, a muslim cannot marry a non muslim. The latter would have to convert to Islam to do so.

It is only the pseudo Sikhs who have grown so weak in their faith that they marry muslims, hindus, christians and the lot.

This is the reason why Sikhs are getting fewer in numbers and Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world today.

Islam WAS the fastest growing because of fertility rates, not conversion.
  14. Does anyone know why?

I would personally be against it, it makes the Christians feel awkward as well as the Sikhs, don't have two religious ceremonies put together, have a court marriage and do a personal ardas if it's that important to you. I won't judge the Granthi for this, but there are certain rules in any religion, just as I wouldn't feel comfortable hearing people pray to Jesus at a Gurdwara. If it happens in a church that they're praying to Jesus, so what, if Hindus worship idols at a Mandir, so what? Just none of this interfaith nonsense, I've been to an interfaith prayer and it just seemed awkward that none of the people could stay to an agreement.

    Does anyone know why?

it's also very sad when he said Rehat Daan? What Rehat?
