Thank you for the replies, as most people realised this was not a topic about caste. It was the relationship that exists between arranged marriages and caste system. Parents only look for someone from the same caste, possibally because they have easier access to the family's background, relatives who know the other family etc and also because of common traditions that exist in one's caste.
The main thing i wanted to say was that as somone suggested if Gurdwara started arranging the marriages or the arranged mariage system was changed so that caste was not a factor in the decision then caste based divison can become less and less.
My belief is that caste in sikh community has only flourished because of the Arranged marriage.
Im not sure I agree on that one paaji....havent read many of above replies but far as Ive seen here...in arranged marriages the first things parents look at Is caste. Peeple that choose their own partners don't give that the slightest thought. Don't usually agree with Randip singh but theres a first time for everything..and hopefully the last..lollllll

Right soo point 1.....Who made the doctor? infact who is the doctor??...think bout it...pretty simple akaaaal is in alll....Guru creates, makes, breaks, remakes, cures all and everything.
Point 2....don't question experiences just because you haven't seen it with your own eyes....just because we cannot see or comprehend something doesnt mean it doesnt exist. Oue eyes are mere human eyes...who are we to question Guru and His Creations.

Really sorry to hear that. It is completely wrong to hit your own mother and its best your brother realises that sooner rather than later. Your mother gave birth to you hana...try and think how hurt she must be right now...
First off you should listen to your mother about how shes feeling.....if you can let your brother know how wrong that was.....an idea may be to show him ome comments in this thread....t say look your elder pajee and penjee really think you did the wrong thing.
Somewhere deep inside i'm sure your brother must also be feeling guilt and not admiting it...maybe doesnt want to make the first move. Assuree him its the best thing he should do to apologise and give mum a big hug. Make sure your mum knows that he wansts to apologise and is feeling really guilty.
Try it....rest vaheguroooo bhalla karan. Say vaheguroo vahegurooo together, or along with a cd/tape when your with family in the evenings...put on your favorite shabads or something hana where you all get a friendly atmosphere.
These ups and downs happens in life..it happens and passes.....we only can learn.

..and heera pajee i think your advice made sense in a way too....i could do that a whle back just fight it off and thas it flu would be gone in a day or two...but sometimes its abit much....like now. I had 3 sleepless night all round new years and didnt sleep was just in programmes and ate at odd hours thas whats made it so severe.
Anyhoooooo.....im feeling tad better...my bro doesnt think so though...he says he can feel the flu from me...so im staying away from everyone...
....Going gurdvara just to matha tek has been ok..not been able to sit for long and nitnem has been disrupted...just do half and listen half.
Morale to self: Take care of one self and ones needs even when so excited about doing everything possible....
