  1. Hi All,

All i want to know is ......... At one side we say that God never becomes angry...........

and on the other said its said that -- Do not do evils/crimes/bad or do not go against rules created by him if you are baptized...

Otherwise the God will punish you......

i always have this question in mind.. God do not get angry how can he punish someone.... coz to give punishment you need to judge a person to be good or bad... but... how can god be biased to differentiate between people....

I don't understand his words.... i don't understand god... can anyone explain me..... WHAT DOES GOD WANT N WHAT HE ACTUALLY IS?

Koi nahi deta kisi ko sazaaein,

Sazaa ban kar aati hai apni khataaye..

~ Giani Sant Singh Ji Maskeen

  3. If you have found suitable profiles on Sikh matrimonals then pay a fee (there's various options) so that they can send you their contact details. Unless one party pays a subscription you can not reply, which maybe why your not getting the responses. A free one is gurmat.com, although I think it's less popular and more likely to contain out of date profiles / people who have found someone... so try the most recent ones first.

, I am paid member on sikhnet, but no idea why no response, tried gurmat.com too, i think most of the profiles are out of date, lets see what god has written for me :D

  4. Hmm sant maskeen would always recite some farsi/urdu but did never catch on to who he was quoting from.. done a littel research on fakir sarmad ...amazing...another chapter opening up for me in "sikhi"..

    another quote from fakir ji...

"My friend, engage your heart in his embrace

and rise to the inner sky

do not forget the words of this devotee:

erase both worlds from your heart."

is fakir ji talking about the two religious and spirit world you (prabhjot)had in you first post...because once your in prem/love(unconditional) theres nothing...just that one bliss

i read some more of his poems in english sooo simple and short yet sooo heart piercing..

thats correct :saach kahoon sun leho sabhe, JIN PREM kiyo tin hi prabh payo,

  5. don't take me wrong khanday di pahul is very important , but GURU'S WORD ARE ULITMATE TRUTH AND THAT WILL TAKE U HOME AND MOREOVER KHANDEY DI PAHUL IS ALSO GURU'S WORD BUT GENERALLY PEOPLE TENDS TO BELIEVE KHANDEY DI PAHUL WILL TAKE THEM THROUGH THAT IS WHAT I AM SAYING GURBANI IS THE ULTIMATE TRUTH. SAHAJ PAATH KARO DE GURBANI SAMJHO SIRF AIYE GAL HAI

    Nanak amrit ek hai

bani is amrit what about khandey batte da amrit,

Ill give one example which I heard from elders (prof. darshan singh ji), may be that gives you answer

eg: We have water below inside the earth but farmers still require water from outside to grow fruits,

one more thing if you drill a jetpump at your place plumber asks you to put water from top so that water can come up from inside the earth and he can set up the jetpump for future use.

same way amrit is inside you (guru is inside you), but to we need to take amrit as its requirement to become puran gursikh,

as karam kand is necessary also but don't get stuck in karam kaand, just move in dharma khand then gian khand then sach khand

you can hear the latha here (Nanak Amrit ek hai)

  6. Sat Siri Akaal,

    I have an awkward question.

Why I have no female Gursikh friends? I mean, everytime I am in Gurdwara etc. I see many Gursikh females and non Gursikh females, but I have no real female gursikh friends... I mean, I am not after Kaam or something, I just want for example, in an discusssion an gursikh feminine opinion. I have lot of white female friends . But no Gursikh , I dont´understand why , I mean i am very openminded and love to talk about everything esspcially about Sikhi , Guruji Sikh history etc...

So I thought going to a Sister in Gurdwara and try to start a conversation, but wouldnt that be awkward?

And again, I am no pervey or something . I am trying to be good gursikh and dont fall in kaam - it is just you know there is something missing - in my discussions with friends.

cool, topic, my question would be what would you do even if you have female gursikh friend ? just a discussion? about guru, sikhi? what if i say to do those things you can sit by yourself and ask questions to yourself, you will get all answers, sawaal ek dukh hai and guru nanak ji says- nanak dukhiya sabh sansaar, so why not ask guru about your questions and doubts, its just something requires more concentration on Naam, Simran,

if you ask questions to others they may be able to give answers or may not be, so it depends why u really want a gursikh female friend look inside you and ask this question to yourself first

  7. NeoSingh Jee, I respect most of your posts, but this topic, I am a bit touchy.

Dancing on Keertan and Vismaad Avastha, I have seen in Nagar Keertan's, I would say especially Delhi Nagar Keertan Guru Nanak Dev Jee Maharaaj Gurupurab, Keertani Jatha (not the AKJ one, the one in front of Palki Sahib), Granthi Singh Jee age around 80+, used to go in Vismaad Avastha singing and chanting, Dhan Guru Nanak, Keertan, with his feets moving, and literally dancing, face totally red.

I have also seen Marathi Sikhs (in Sehaj Swaroop) in Patna Sahib Gurudwara, bit of dancing, moving forwards and backwards, with Keertan - "Vaho Vaho Gobind Singh Jee", that looked they are in complete love of what they are doing.

I have seen this video as well, Personal opinion - This does not look Vismaad Avastha (I am a Moorakh, don't even do complete Nitnem, so who am I to judge), this looks cheap hippysim, background voice seems to be Snatam Kaur voice. I am not sure whether these people are associated to 3HO or Snatam Kaur or not, but personal opinion again - Spreading Sikhism this way the way they are doing, is it the Gurmat way?

    Asa Jee Di Vaar.

Nachan Kuddan man ka chau, Nanak jin man bhou tina man bhau.

See Guru di koi lod nhi si, sikhi di koi lod nhi si je nachan hi seega, eh tan pehla to hi ho reha si, Guru gave us instrument to sing shabad and do keertan but in sehaj vastha, not by dancing, dancing was the style of followers of baba bulleshah, i am not saying dancing is wrong, but guru ne diti sehaj avastha

and the quoet you gave from asa di vaar

its guru explaining man sada bahut nachda hai idhar udhar, never concentrates on NAAm, then guru ji says jina de man vich paramatma da bhou hai ounha de kol hi paramatma vasda hai

  9. hmm doubt situation again,

    Sadh Sangat ji,

I have been reading this forum for many years, but this is the first time I felt the need to post.

I am at university studying for a Master’s degree and I am struggling to put maximum effort into my studies and exam preparation. I started this course in September after finishing my BSc in June. Some days I am productive, some days I am not, and lately the latter seems to be the case. Most of the time I feel I would rather spend 3 hours at Gurdwara listening to path/kirtan/katha than 3 hours at home studying, but then if I do this I feel guilty for neglecting my studies.

I go to the Gurdwara everyday and do benti to Maharaj to bless me with a Gursikhi jeevan, Amritvela, Nitnem and success in my studies. Yet time and time again, I sit at my desk and half-heartedly try to revise for my exams. Also this is my 5th year living alone away from home and it is very easy to become lazy and fall into bad habits such as eating late, sleeping and waking up late.

I really do want to complete this course, and soon the research project will start which is a major component of the MSc, and I know I will enjoy this more. But I struggle the most with exams, and I have two this month, and am not feeling too confident. I don't really get distracted by the Internet, and I have no TV, I just struggle to concentrate fully and put 100% effort in.

The number one thing going through my mind is that once I leave this world, all my wordly education will not come with me- only naam simran and Gurbani abhyaas will. So I think why do I devote so much time and money to my education when in the end it will serve no purpose?

This MSc will hopefully enhance my career prospects, but I am not after a six-figure salary, I would just like a job that utilises my degree knowledge and provides me with a modest, comfortable living. I guess I am asking the sangat to help me strike the right balance between Gursikhi jeevan and worldly education.

I think I need to develop a consistent Amritvela routine and sit down to study after completing Nitnem, and listen to kirtan or Sukhmani Sahib whilst studying. I just wondered if the sangat had any more ideas to help me practically achieve this goal.

    Thanks for reading.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

hmm doubt situation again, its good ur mind thinks towards guru, but again nothing is going to happen when u think too much, u already knew this may be, so i was never a planner, or a time table make that sleep or get up and go to studies, during college days i used work on weekends as waiter, and on weekdays i used to work in college kitchen, while I was doing m.s, Its important to learn bani and memorize as you can do it while u at work or at school, so just do whatever thing you work on with concentration, i know its hard, just do it don't think, alll u got to do is try to sleep early , if thats not possible thats cool too, just try to get up early and study or do nitnem, i used to study at the last moment before exams, as long as you pass nobody cares, job situation, you will get whatever is in written in ur fate, try to get focussed on one thing, finish ur studies first, simran, path it can go along with it, its like food for your soul, if you dont eat it then ur mind will become weak, u dont have to worry if i dont do it for several hours guru will get angry or unhappy, infact do it 24 hours in ur heart while u are studying working or anything.

  10. Areyyyy but oh seed v te babeee ne girwaya hona saade to jo baad ch tree ban gya :( .... mainu ni samajh aunda rabb :(

Baba g simran v kar leha... m batera waheguru bolde bolde guru guru ho janda.. fer mainu mera naa yaad aajanda Gurupreet :p

Eda jawab simran ch ni... Mainu Guru Granth Sahib g to labna pau... letz c.... will try to find out :)

oh i forgot to mention, if you try to put ocean in one glass, its impossible, same if you try to understand rub, its not possible, baaki

one more example, ek bache de samne jawaan khada hai par bache noon ki pata jawani ki hai, jawan de age budha hai, par jawan noon nhi pata ki budha ki soch reha hai, ek budhe noon pata hai age maut hai par maut ho kai hi pata chalda hai maut ussi tarah rab ho ke hi pata chalega ki rab ki , edan sochan naal nhi gal banani

  11. Not at all !

Your point is the comment that should be addressed everytime this foolish topic arises

    .

Guru Nanak ji's important shabad that you quoted above tells us what fools we are to be arguing over meat !

Guru Nanak Ji also tells us-

    ਮੂਰਖ ਗਣਤ ਗਣਾਇ ਝਗੜਾ ਪਾਇਆ
    Mūrakẖ gaṇaṯ gaṇā▫e jẖagṛā pā▫i▫ā.
The fools try to account for their misdeeds, and argue uselessly

Gurbani tells us straight about using your own God-given logic instead of debating, but still the fools continue to argue. It is ALL fuelled by HAUMAI.

    anyways time to laugh man

  12. i can think of only one thing, "Saust aath baani barmaao. Sat suhaan saaa man chaao.
Kavan su velaa vakhat kavan, kavan thit kavan vaar.
Kavan si ruti maah kavan, jit hoaa aakaar.
Vel na paaiaa pandati ji hovai lekh puraan.
Vakhta na paaio kaadiaa, ji likhan lekh quraan.
Thit vaar na jogi jaanai, rut maah naa koi.
Jaa kartaa sirthi kau saaje, jaanai soi.

Kiv kar aakhaa kiv saalaahi, kio varni kiv jaana.
Naanak aakhan sabhu ko aakhai, ik du ik siaanaa.
Vadaa Saahib vadi naai, kitaa jaa kaa hovai.
Naanak je ko aapau jaanai, agai gayaa na sohai."

  13. Very good point !!

Only Fools wrangle over flesh !

Why sit there worrying about whether you have eaten meat by mistake ?????

Better still, why debate and investigate to see if you committed sin in doing so ??

It's issues like this that put a split between sikhs and jathabandis.

A mistake is a mistake,so why try and justify or prove to yourself that it's not that bad !!

If you accidently cut a lock of loose hair while working with scissors or something, then does that mean that you are 'excommunicated' ?? OR that your amrit is broken and no longer valid ????

Cutting a lock of loose hair by mistake is much different to going to the hairdresser and walking out with short back and sides-by mistake !!!!

THINK ABOUT IT- What qualifies as a genuine mistake ???????

this is what i heard and learned from giani sant singh maskeen ji, " i dont claim to be a intelligent, but i am hesitant to get stamped as a fool by commenting on meat topic"

The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom. What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin? It was the habit of the gods to kill the rhinoceros, and make a feast of the burnt offering. Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night. They practice hypocrisy, and make a show before other people, but they do not understand anything about meditation or spiritual wisdom. O Nanak, what can be said to the blind people? They cannot answer, or even understand what is said.

  15. What a stupid and pointless post! Try applying this advice next time you post my brother - "if what you've got to say isn't positive or productive, then best not to say it at all" Taranbir paaji Sikhnet has a section for matrimonial's and there quiet a lot of the sisters on there that are of Gursikh roop and from the US, have you tried that platform?

yes i have heard of it, but nobody replies there at all, i don't know why people post their profiles, if they want to get married :p

Thanks for pointing out to the pointless conversation, you are also not doing smart thing to post on this post :D

  17. @sikh seeker, thats a interesting topic you started :),

having worldly things, money is not bad at all, neither its good, its just different, as they did something they got that kind of life and you did something, you got this life, whole point is stop thinking or seeing people in bad or good terms, just see them as they are made different,

sabh gobind hai, gobind bin nahi koye

the way i wrote its too easy for me to write but i know its really hard to accept and follow, so still working towards that, and its all guru kirpa

  18. thought came to mind from KAAM we got birth, and KAAM is the shakti through which we can meet guru

if KAAM shakti goes down it gives birth to kids, if it goes upwards, it gives birth to guru inside you. so those kaam feelings are required to give birth, but to distract those feelings, i guess let it flow and try to be focused early morning on simran, this way one day, you will be out of it

rest thoughts of kaam coming in mind i won't say its bad, its a natural thinking process, we are humans, we were born with kaam, so relax nothing wrong you have done :p,

  19. these type of queries, doubts arrive when you are doing simran and love guru, :D, thats a good thing,

but to find out real answers it's always going to be inner experience, or somebody who has crossed these questions and moved ahead :p,

there are many examples which can be given in favor one can be : there was a farmer who sow seeds to receive fruits, he also sown a seed at his house and later on he went out for long journey may be after 12 yrs he came to his house, and he saw a big tree, he asks himself when did I sow this seed. so there are things in which you see result within few in, seconds, hours, days, week, months or years, so whatever you are getting, it was some kind of action you took in your old days, if you doing simran or path, you must have sown those type of seeds.

thats just a gist where i am trying to reach on the doubt, if you oever face this doubt again, that god is there, if he is doing everything what we are doing and blah.. blah.. just stay focussed on simran , waheguru dhun, dhun mein dhyan, and forget about your doings, or other things, only think about death, i used to ask myself is there god, then answer used to come lets say there is no god, but you are still going to die, always remember your life is moving fast out of your hands, take use of it and without a doubt follow guru, i know its hard, but still if guru is with us, then it will not be hard anymore.

PEHLA MARAN KABOOL JEEVAN KI CHAD AAS, i am not saying try to be serious always and don't talk to people but stay focused on your goal
