We came from single-celled creatures. So those cells became us. Our great X100000000000000000 Grandad was a cell. :D
But we also got some grandparents who lived in the sea.
isn't it cool how Guruji works in mysterious way...He only know how and why he did it, we can only be amazed by his work :omg: and sing his praises. :strong: :waheguru:

SIkh boiled alive: Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu, from the village Dheerpur was tortured & boiled alive at the hands of Indian Government. Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu was born on July 15, 1961 in village Dheerpur, Jallandhar. His parents were Mata Gian Kaur and father Sd. Gurbachan Singh Sekhon. Bhai Gurbachan Singh was a farmer. In 1978, the Narakdhari cult with the connivance of the Government began to attack the Sikh faith and shot dead 13 Gursikhs in Amritsar on the day of Vaisakhi. The perpetrators were never brought to justice and were in fact protected by the Government. Bhai Gurdev Singh was deeply hurt by what had happened and after this began to remain very sad. He would talk to his friends about how much of an injustice had happened and expressed his desire to seek revenge on the enemies of the Panth.
Bhai Sahib’s parents were alarmed at this change in nature and thought that perhaps marriage would help settle him down. Bhai Gurdev Singh was married to Bibi Balvinder Kaur and they would have one daughter and one son together. However, Bhai Sahib’s pain at the state of the Panth did not lessen. Along with the local Sangat, Bhai Gurdev Singh went to Sri Darbar Sahib and heard the lectures of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindravale. He was so impressed that he decided to remain there with Sant jee to serve in the Dharam Yudh Morcha. After some time, Bhai Gurdev Singh became very close to Bhai Amrik Singh and Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa. From December 26 to 31, 1983, Bhai Gurdev Singh participated in a camp organized by Sant Jarnail Singh and Bhai Amrik Singh, where Gurbani, Sikh history and philosophy were taught. The goal of the camp was to create Sikh preachers who could transform the Punjab countryside. He was given a certificate at the end of the course. Bhai Sahib used this knowledge to travel to schools and colleges to establish units of the All India Sikh Student Federation.
On March 2, 1984, in a conference organized by the AISSF, Damdami Taksal and others, Bhai Gurdev Singh was made the president of the Kartarpur area. After this, the police made Bhai Gurdev Singh and his family one of their main targets. His parents along with his brothers were arrested and tortured and later even his sister and wife were taken away. But Bhai Sahib did not return home after that and refused to leave his seva.
Bhai Gurdev Singh travelled from village to village organizing Gurmat conferences and amrit sinchaars. Sant Jarnail Singh also gave Bhai Gurdev Singh the seva of doing saskaar of old beeRs of Sree Guru Granth Sahib at Goindval Sahib. Bhai Sahib was busy doing this seva when the Government of India attacked Sree Harmander Sahib Amritsar and slaughtered countless men, women and children. The attack on Siri Amritsar was unbearable for Bhai Gurdev Singh. Bhai Sahib joined with Bhai Manbir Singh Chaheru, Bhai Mathra Singh, Bhai Tarsem Singh KuhaaR and others to form the original Khalistan Commando Force. Bhia Gurdev Singh became the Area Commander for Doaba and participated in many actions. He was respected not only by the Singhs in the KCF, but by all Jathebandis. The police began to dread the very name of Bhai Gurdev Singh.Under the command of Bhai Gurdev Singh, Doaba did not see any looters commit crimes. They were too terrified to act.The Hindus of the area also loved Bhai Gurdev Singh since he would help poor Hindu families by giving money and not let anyone harass them. Even today, the Hindus remember Bhai Sahib and attend his yearly Martydom Memorial. The police made many tries to capture Bhai Sahib but each time were unsuccessful. But they say that when one patriot is born, thousands of traitors are born with him. One person who brought himself close to Bhai Gurdev Singh and presented himself to be a great Sikh sympathiser, invited Bhai Sahib to his home and put a powder in the milk he served. Bhai Gurdev Singh fell unconscious and was arrested in this state. The police reached the limit of brutality when they could not get any information. They boiled a tub of water and put Bhai Gurdev Singh in. The scene of Bhai Dayala in the boiling cauldron was repeated again and this Singh too did not falter. Bhai Gurdev Singh refused to speak a word and seeing his final moments before him, only cared about Gurbani. Bhai Gurdev Singh was boiled to death but did not reveal a single companion’s name, hideout or weapons cache.0 -

I have been thinking about this for a while and wanted to gage sangats opinion and understanding of whether evolution theory and Darwinism fits into Sikhi?
The reason being I attended a presentation attended by 100+ post grad academics at GNG Leicester where at the museum the presenter launched into a tirade against evolution theory and how it was against Sikhism. I have never really heard a learned Sikh (I am presuming he is one considering GNG employee him) speak so strongly against a theory that is generally accepted in the scientific world.
However - the individual did go on to speak against Nihang Singhs rehit etc and seemed to be disregarding the different groups and practices Sikhs follow... which lost the audience as most people in the room knew there were different rehits/Jathay...
Nevertheless, his views against evolution in Sikhism where particularly strong.. Was he correct in enforcing such a view so strongly? Is evolution and sikhi completely incompatible?
No.. How i think of it is that after having bhog 84 lakh joons we have finally became humans... But this is only my personal view....

There is big flaw in Darwins theory of evolution. If we had evolved from Apes (as it is theorised), then there should be no human species before them. The archaeologists found human remains which were alive before apes. Do your own research for oldest remains of humans.
Darwin theory of evolution suggests that how animals have evolved over time. If you go way back to evolution of life, we are actually evolved from marine animals... Anyways, it is science. They are gathering information and putting pieces together. Specially if you study the genes involved in giving our body structure, they are shared among many organisms. which is cool and there are many other endless examples of evolution

Update: All of the sex charges have been proved false, the only thing left is that the daughter said he was threatening her and her friends with death threats.
Will the law require her to prove it, or will the fact that her friends are lying with her be enough?
And in your opinion, after this's over, should he make her leave his house and live somewhere else? In a few months when the girl's 18, he technically doesn't have to let her live in his house.
I think if all other charges have prove to be wrong then, judge or jury knows that she is lying. They would need solid evidence but i am not a lawyer or anything. When she turns 18, he should kick her out the same day..

Hmm... If she was raped, then there needs to be evidence.. They should have conducted medical examination on her to find out the truth. This man needs to get a good lawyer to defend him..

Okay I'm 16 Years old and I have found some discrepancies in Sikhism that have caused me to lose faith. First of all guru Nanak dev ji did all he could to avoid violence and he was automatically respected wherever he went. Guru gobind Singh ji was war oriented and proclaimed Sikhs as the warrior race. Guru gobind Singh ji also said that we must keep a turban and Kesh. On the other hand guru Nanak dev ji said in one of his sakhis where the pandit was tying a bracelet on him, that he won't wear it because no exterior feature will help someone reach god. In addition guru Nanak dev ji said that it doesn't matter what religion you are as long as you're one with god and are humble. Guru Gobind Singh ji said we should wear a turban because kings at the time wore it and we should be proclaimed as kings. In my opinion that's not humble at all. Guru Nanak dev ji said that we are all equal no matter what and you shouldn't care if you have something others don't. Guru gobind Singh ji gave us a turban so we stick out and be recognized as Sikhs. Again not humble. Also Sikhs are not allowed to have their backs and feet towards Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. But guru Nanak dev ji in one of his sakhis guru nakak dev ji went to a mosque and pointed his feet towards Mecca which Muslims could not do but he said that god is everywhere. I believe in guru Nanak dev ji but not the others after him. I believe I should cut my kesh now because I don't see a reason to keep it. How do I approach my parents about this? They aren't really religious and my dad trims but he loves India and Indian culture. He's very authoritarian but how do I approach my patents about this?
The discrepancies are in your thinking.. You have made up your mind of leaving Sikhi and now you are just coming up with excuses. I can understand your point because you are a teenager and I have been through this stage and similar situation. My question to you is that have you ever talked to a Sikh Scholar about these doubts in your mind? Because after reading your comment I can give you a satisfying answer. But you have already made your mind of leaving Sikhi and you can come up with other excuses, I will not do so. Sikhi is not a forced religion. If you whole heartedly want to follow it, then you should otherwise you have an option to not follow it. As far as your parents are concerned, only you can explain it to them. Be very clear to them and speak of your heart. It might hurt them, but it will release burden off from you.

The only thing I did not like about this song is mention of Hitler by Moranwali... It will give chance to anti-sikh elements to compare Hitler and Santji...They should have thought about it before making this video
