1. Dear all,

    To ponder..

We all sit in heaven in a soul state happy and contented,

But after years 100, 500, 1000, (earth time could be 1,5,10 seconds as time is man made )  we get curious about human life to feel things in a real sense so we  choose a family and get birth…

But the penalty of birth is that you do not harm any other soul if you do you get caught in the karma cycle until you redeem your self.

Until eventual you go to heaven again  as a energy soul state until eventually you get curious and want to experience life  again…….

I use the word heaven, it could be any where, where there is a place with no name.

    Your thoughts ? grin.gif

  2. Good or Bad is decided by God. Ask the God inside you and u will get the answer.

Also there is nuthin good or bad in this world. The only definition of "good" according to me is the thing which gets u closer to the creator(God).

    Fateh.

    157699

that is what i was thinking, who are we to decide.

but if somone was preaching sikhi and doing the things then as someone else said, then that person is definitley not a good sikh. How could you not practice what you preach? It wudnt make sense, anyone listening would be like why should we trust in guru ji if you (the preacher) cant have enough faith to wear the bana to represent sikhi........

  6. Vahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa

    Vahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh

I just went and seen a film called 'inside man' today and without trying to spoil it for you, its about a bank robbery where they take hostages.

And anyway one of the hostages is released and he is a Sikh who works at the bank. Anyway the police suspect him as one of the robbers and arrest him.

They take off his turban and call him an arab and say something like have you gotta bombetc.

Then theres a scene where they are interogating him and he tells the police that the turban is very important, and its role and that he is not an arab like he was called, and that sikhs get harassed where ever they go .........

Personnaly i was really really happy about this scene, because we get a little bit of sikh awareness out into the world , and at least ppl will realise the importance of turban aswel. But at the start i was a lil uncomfortablt watching his turban been taken off, but the next scene made me feel better.

Anyone else seen it? what do you think about it?

please don't jump to any assumptions by reading this, its better if you watch it and comment.

Sorry if i spoilt it a bit

    Fateh

  7. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh

to be honest i dont think its a good documentary. in a sense its good cos it highlights nihang tradition etc BUT its not really got the essence of sikhi in terms of basic principles.

at the start hari singh was referred to as being part of the nihang CASTE warrior caste etc...do i even need to comment on that?

then u had stuff like them doin matha to the baba ji, fair play he may be chardi kalla but we shud only do matha to Guru Granth Sahib Ji...

even then Guru Ji was compiled by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Arjan Dev Ji compiled Adi Granth which is part of Guru Granth Sahib ji.

im sure in 1 part of the documentary they mentioned that they save mutton to be eaten on special occasions aswel

then at hola mohalla they had bhang goin on :@

oh yeah and how they referred to the 1984 shaheeds as extremists was wrong aswel, the was it was all interpreted is wrong.

maybe the guy that made the documentary just misunderstood some of the basic principles of sikhi which therefore failed to make the documentary totally gurmat.

please forgive me if my views offend anyone

vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh

    157433

    FAteh Ji

yea that documentry really annoyed me, if they are gonna talk about sikhi they should get it right, otherwise we dont need ppl to do the documentrys. There was alot of wrong things said.

someone should make a documentry properly.

anyway i dont think it was much on the part of the Nihang , cos we cudnt here him , but they gora who was commentating.

  8. Marriage is not a licence for 7 days a week, 365 days a year shagging.

Anyway, I have yet to hear an argumentt that's convincing of why a Gursikh would need to use a contraceptive with his wife.

    157227

yes 365 days a year is excessive and therfore would ba KAAM, but what if it was one day in the year. that would not be excessive. as long as you can control it then thats fine.

I think that in the future things like birth control etc would mean that use of contraceptives will be more common, i dont think theres any mention of this, it shud be ok simply becos your married.

  9. we need to go ther and set things rite , lets prepare for mass migration!!

i was worried when i read about the gov increasing the allowance on alcohol. i wonder what the incentive is? altho the amount that has been increased probably is already consumed, becos it is probs made at home, but the gov shud help curb this kind of thing , not accept it.

  10. you should let her love your mum like this, many people have problems getting on with their inlaws so this situation u describe is a sign that the family relations are good, this is exactly how it ought to be.

Don't worry about your position in the family, your mum will love you still, you should be happy, this shouldn't be aobut sharing parents, try not to get too worried over it, be happy for your mum that someone is ther to look after her and your bros while you are not ther.

  11. Fateh Ji

well we can learn from it if not anything else.

we know that its important for us to always live life according to guru ji, noone knows whats around the corner. If we are doing things wrong we should make changes, becos like that guy, he has lost his chance to make amendments.

so lets not fite about it.

    yea? :e:

  12. r u aware that the majority of the singh sabha gurdwara comittee(all the elders) are not in support of slough sikh school?

instead they are building a"recreatation centre" where people can rent it out to have parties serving meat and alcohol.

wouldn't this money be better placed going to the trust

we need people like Hari Singh Sewak in the committee who truly have a passion for sikhi and want to lead our youth on the right path

when they won the gurdwara committee elections last year instead of thanking guru ji they went down a pub and got drunk and even drank alcohol in the alleyway of the gurdwara

mr sewak was headteacher of sunday panjabi school for over 25 years and resigned in protest against the building of the "recreation centre" and saying that the money would be better placed funding a sikh school in slough

isn't it shameful that hardly any1 stood with him against this issue more than 3 years ago

it seems to me that the majority of our community are too infatuated with maya to care about our youth- they all want flashy cars and big houses

    156996

the youth need to act and prepare to become leaders, i think these old ppl are only interested in the link from the golak to their pockets. school wud be a class idea.............we dont need a recreation centre.

  13. just couple of quick questions......starting from the simple ones

    1. why do amritdhari sikhs have to wear kachha and kirpaan in this modern age........saying that sikhism is a modern religion, shudnt we get rid of the things we dont need anymore?

    2. Beard.......in many places its considered unhygeniec and unprofessional........most of the sikhs abroad find it difficult to get a proper job coz of the appearance.....so wat shud be the solution for this? does shaving ur beard means u r not a sikh anymore?

    :T:  :e:

    156817

everytime i come across a 'newbie' i have doubts about the aim of the questions, probably due to past experiences on this site, however im sure someone could give you a better ansa than me, but i think u shud do a search cos these questions im sure hav been ansered a while back.

i am a sikh and i hav had no problem gettin a job, and iv had two different jobs, appearance is everything, guru ji gave us this roop, identity , the kirpan and kachera hav so much importance we cannot just scrap it?

personlaly if you wear a turban and shave your beard, that it stupid and defeats the whole point of keeping hair. Could you tell me where keeping a beard is considered unhygenic? we do ishnaan every morning so sikhs are clean ppl, cleaniness is godliness.

  16. Gurfateh!!

The original post and header stated that this is a hypothesis. Those of you who are bedazzled by the original post and it hit a wrong key with you then relax, argue why sikhs are not cowards instead of raising arms.

yea your rite, iv just done what you said in my other post.

but if you want the reason why sikhs are not cowards, im sorry i can not do that as you know that would take me a lifetime!! would it not? :TH:
