  1. Really guys, this outfit has served gursikhs and their kids for so long with full-on prem and sewa since before I was born and I grew up reading their material , they opened my eyes to what in Sikhi is special. I still have my copies of in the Guru's footsteps . The store is manned by two bajurg and is a quiet peaceful place . They have no ties to anyone else ...in fact they haven't published new materials since I was a kid. If you asked them about Dhunda , et al to them they would spit just as much blood as you all , they serve Guru ji first and foremost.

We all know those Sikh missionaries in Punjab aren't up too no good especially Gurmat Gian Missionary in Ludhiana where (dhunda, ghagga came out of). Someone should make a list of actual Sikh missionaries around the world so we can tell them from the fake ones.

  2. Of course Sikhs deserve their own country. That way we will not live on the mercy of another religious group and face a genocide like we did in 1984.

My post on this issue should not be seen as supportive of Zionists. The Israeli conflict is a religious conflict between Jews and Muslims. And this conflict did not start with the creation of Israel. Before this, this land has seen 2000 years of religious conflict between the three Abrahamic religions. After the current Jewish Muslim conflict is finished, it's likely this conflict will continue in some shape or form between the three rival religions. When the Christians or Muslims had established their rule over the Biblical holy land, they were just as tyrannical as the Zionists if not more. We should remain neutral in this conflict and not pick sides because if one reads history of this land one comes to the conclusion that in future today's Jewish Muslim conflict will just be a foot note in the history of this land which has seen numerous such conflicts.

We need to focus on our side of the world. The land of India also has a conflict between the Muslims and Hindus and Sikhs. Sikhs are the 3rd party or teesar Panth in this land and we are a nationless nation. One thing we have learnt from our experience is that it is not a pleasent experience to live under the ruler ship of the other two communities who have carried out Ghalukaras of the Sikhs. Only time Sikhs saw safety was when Sikhs were ruling.

Correct my point is everyone wants the land it is a never ending conflict that deals with the Abrahamic religions but Sikhs have our own issues to deal with like you say our Panth in Punjab being silenced even when Gurbaksh Singh is fasting. Sikhs have never been safe lets see at that way we have enemies within our own Panth. Its hard to have safety has a Sikh has you are always fighting for justice and truth.

  3. What kind of dumb argument is that? what do Sikhs have to do with whether or not Jews should have a country? The conflict in Israel is a Jewish and Muslim arab one not a Jewish and Sikh one. Are you even a Sikh? because now I'm seriously suspecting you are a Muslim. If you are a Muslim then you have a reason to object to a Jewish state. But If you are a Sikh then why are you acting like that party crasher who goes to weddings of people not even related to him? Begaani Shaadi mein Abdullah deevana lol

Jews deserved a country after their suffering from The Holocaust and they're hard working into becoming strong group that is well educated but the mistake that Israel has made today is play in the hands of Zionism which is totally Israel's fault and is injustice.

  4. thank you for the pdf file :) i just looked through the content and i was like OMG :D :D BUT i'm still currently trying to finish reading through one of Bhai Sahib Bhai veer singh ji's books,,, i've nearly finished the first volume and still need to read the second!

So i waas hoping that if any gursikhs like you have read through these amazing books could share some saakiyan about sant/mahapurshs that you remember... (basically shared reading LOL ) ;-)

Very true, i agree with you veer, like the basics of sikhi guy says that if you follow humans your bound to find mistakes and your sharda may break so if you follow waheguru ji he is perfect = no disappointments.

But i enjoy reading/listening/knowing about sant maharpursh because i've always felt that saakhiyan of sant/mahapurshs usually stick in my head and act as a reminder through my life.

    :)

You should definitely read this one as soon as possible because it shows that even after Guru Gobind Ji left us with GGS he is always been here with us through the tough times and gives darshan to those who earn his respect and blessings hence the story of Sant Attar Singh getting darshan of Guru ji. Its an amazing inspiring story only one of many but worth a read.

  5. Does anyone know this couple to give them an explanation. Once an explanation is given they both will know how stupid and silly they were to do it. The groom says he had his boyz lined up to manhandle anyone that spoke up against his "revolutionary" ways. Now that sounds more like a threat. How more immature can this guy be.

Only thugs talk in this manner and there is no room for this kind of behavior in Sikhi. Does he really think Singhs will buy into this thuggish behavior? If I was his boy, I would have made sure he was humiliated and then told him why he was wrong. If this couple was about fighting traditions they should have fought a tradition which is not according to Sikhi. Obviously this thug is not bright enough to figure out the bride wearing red is a Hindu tradition and not a Sikh tradition as in Sikhi the bride can wear any color. Ignorance is bliss

Yeaaa buddy you really showed the Sikhs!!!!!!!!!!!! :stupidme: :stupidme: :stupidme: :stupidme:

his boys will know what to do hahaha. Let Dharamraj be the judge of his actions for only knows what will happen to him.

  6. The thing I noted was the womenfolk of the family was like that poster of grandmother daughter granddaughter where the sikhi is degrading

Nani was wearing chottey keshki (hijab style) mother coloured hair daughter trimmed hair ... it;s all very well bringing up your kids 'like sons' then why on Earth didn't you manage to teach them SIkhi and to keep a dastar???

When I see Gursikh grandparents or even parents bringing their children to the West from Punjab to get better opportunities in life but then fail to make them keep Sikhi values throughout their upbringing makes me sad.

  7. I don't know where should I start, but search up the pdf file for life of Sant Harnam Rampur Khera. Its on the internet its a very good read and you will learn a lot from such a mahapurakh's life. May we learn from their teachings and lifestyles to become better Gursikhs ourselves :biggrin2:

I found the pdf file for Sant Harnam Singh: http://rampurkhera.com/files/sekinehiya2006.pdf

More books on him on their website: http://rampurkhera.com/publication

More good books to read and as most of them are on the internet, use this thread to find some good ones: http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/70356-books-to-read/

  8. There are even some accounts that say she beat her head on wall repeatedly until death. Most of these false allegations come because of two things: 1)No one was there to witness it as she was probably alone at the burj (maybe guards?) 2)and because the enemy was the one to tell the story. Like a kathavachak said of course the enemy would lie and degrade our martyrs. Mata Gujri left body of her own will and peacefully through dasam duaar. Of course the guards who found her, unable to know this or believe in such a noble woman, came to their own erroneous conclusions. And there testimony was believed by some ,cuz they were the only ones there.

no different when people say half of Baba Deep Singh's neck was cut open.... or Guru Gobind Singh ji used goats in the tent during amrit sanchar in 1699..... RSS wale trying to distort our history in Sikhi books throughout Punjab or apne are making fools out of high jeevan Sikhs from the past.

  9. What do you mean "What are you talking about" ?

I made it clear in the message. You said "Jews are the most educated and wealthy minority group in the whole of the UK" and then went on to lecture us about generalising. I then reminded you how official UK government statistics show how the UK's large ultra-orthodoxx (hasidic) Jewish community throughout north east London (stamford Hill etc) is officialy the UK's poorest community with the UK's lowest rate of education and highest rate of reliance on state benefits (that's because they want to pray all day and not work).

Thus, I reminded you of the paradox of your original message where you told us not to generalise, before you generalised yourself.

And that, my friend, was what I was "talking about".

True that Judaism does not proselytize. One might argue that is because they believe they are the chosen people and to hell with the rest but I think its probably something to do with the fact that their faith teaches that theirs is not the 'only way' to reach the kingdom of heaven. In this regard, forgive me if I've got this wrong (and I think I might have) but isn't Sikhism by definition a proselytising religion because we believe that becoming amritdhari is the one and only way to reach mukhti ?

Christians and Muslims and Hindus can receive mukti if they follow the guidance in the GGS too that's written on how to achieve oneness within their religion.

  10. Today the sikhs have made Kakkars into rituals. Kirpan is a reminder to stay strong in difficult times and is kept dull from preventing Sikhs from defending themselves and others....backwards beard tying british worshipping Sikhs. The Guru gave the kirpan to defend and told us to keep it on us as ang because you don't know when and where you will be attacked. We live in homes with locks and bathroom doors are locked. The Singhs in the past bathed in rivers and on farms where you are easy target if not armed all the time. Don't worry your parents wont attack you in the comfort of their home. They would rather smack you across the head out in public to show you who is boss.

Kanga is used to keep the hair hygiene up. We keep it on us all the time because we are able to keep hair hygiene even if we get lost in the city with millions of signs directing you back home for days. Let's face it no Singh is taking his nike shocks out in the forest or mountains these days and not coming home for days.....nike will get dirt on them. Singhs in the past were always on the move from one battle to another. They had to be on top if their game. Today Singhs are on top of there battlefield 4 and call of duty.....

Kara is.... i think everyone gets the picture. Hold it in your fist and go punch something. See how effective it is. If its gold throw it in the trash.

Kachera....i love wearing it. Feel so relaxed in it and the agility in it is awesome. So comfortable. One leg at a time and making sure it does not reveal and private area is a good technique if showering at your local river while the white people stare out of their apartment buildings. If you in the comfort of a bathroom and scared that your shadow might see you naked then turn off the light.

Hair the worst kakkar of them all. I can't be Hollywood or bollywood. Cant touch a hair on the body but some Singhs violently comb their hair taking out chunks. Beadbi or stupidity, you be the judge. Jokes aside, Those who cut hair will never be able to accept Guru Gobind Singh hukams or receive his blessing. The uncut hair is our crown. Respect it and keep it clean.

Kesh does fall out on its own during shower or when sometimes your are touching your beard. Of course not violently on purpose but yes, we should be cautious when we are cleansing ourselves.

  11. hazar unus in hadis habibi
it is mentioned in Hadis Habibi. Arrival of Guru Nanak was also prophesised in Bavikhat Purana .
Hazrat Naimat ullah Shah Wali , a fakir wrote
His name would be NANAK. Populace will give attention to him. This powerful Fakeer [seer] will become famous.
26 shaloks of agman of Guru nanak dev ji mentioned in bhavish puran . thousands of year before he was born

    very interesting

  12. My point was With inadequate info why we pass judgements and defame punjab analyze the place u dwell not the one u left where we live has more vices within our community than the place we left

People with intellect dont fight in gurdwaras and drink alcohol meat there nor they do "intellectual " thinking and say we can eat langar on chairs

We don't want to defame Punjab, but there is nothing wrong of raising a voice against the big issues surrounding it (anti-sikh agenda/cults, drugs, corrupt police). If you think Punjab is fine, you really need to think again.

  13. stop this blaming badal...in uk there is no badal i dont c any positive change u must be knowing about the fights in gurughars etc i wonder why people keep on ranting badal badal he is a politician they have to indulge in all this cameron sent forces in iraq, afghanistan lakhs of civillians were killed so we dont say u r a mass murderer etc so these people have to do all such shrewd things

Nope, many Sikhs will blame Badal still for problems in Punjab. What positive changes have Punjab Sikhs done in the past 10 years that have countered anti-Sikh agenda, cults and corrupt police force? When I mean big positive changes I mean ones that have done a great deal in change to those issues.

  14. without knowing facts and figures some people claim 80 percent youth r addicted r u crazy? u r slandering the community who is an addict first define it, drug use is higher in uk as far as i have seen and nowhere i have said anything mean about anyone i am saying without knowing the reality why we keep on giving statements ,

it is very high percentage among the youth in Punjab. To ignore that fact you are clearly blind. Yes Western Sikhs can aid to help the future of Sikhs in Punjab and we are trying to do that. Trust me we have very few options being aboard India to help out in Punjab. Most of us are eager for a change there. Its up to Sikhs in Punjab if they want to change. Leave alcohol and drugs and take a stand against the corruption. But how many are willing to do that in Punjab?
