  1. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh I don't have very much knowledge on this topic, I have however asked this question to knowledegable Gurmukhs. They all agree that the Puratan tradition has always been to sit during the Laavan and not stand. This is not a Taksal only belief. Nihang Singh Dals, Takhats, other Sampardas and Akhand Kirtani Jatha believe in sitting during Laavan. You may notice that recently some Sikh youth stand during Laavan, this is a new thing as Sikh Rehit Maryada (draft) published by SGPC has been forcefully pushed on the Panth. If you ask the older Gurmukhs in AKJ, they will tell you that sitting during Laavan is indeed the tradition. Basically, long story short....in order for SGPC to make the Sikh Rehit Maryada different from the Puratan Maryada, they had to make some changes or else it would've been quite similar. A few of the unfortunates changes SGPC made are: - Standing during Laavan, not sitting. - During Bir Asan position, keep the left knee raised instead of right. All other organizations raise the right knee. - Parvaan to Degh instead of Bhog. - Shortened Banis - Padh ched instead of Larivaar The list goes on and I don't want to fuel a discussion to create differences. But my view is simple, since SGPC has created their Maryada...how has the Panth benefitted? One Gurmukh was so troubled at the changes made by the SGPC, he said a powerful quote: 'However many Padh Cheds are done to Gurbani, that's how many groups will be made....once the Panth restores the Puratan tradition of connecting the words as Larivaar, only then will the Panth connect as one' Apologies for mistakes.

  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh If anyone gets PTC Channel, can you please record the Gurpurb Smagam for Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Gurpurb from Takhat Sri Patna Sahib? I'm pretty sure it airs on PTC, correct me if I'm wrong. I think it airs for a few days. The reason why I'm asking is that it's rare to see programs broadcasted from Gurdwaras like Patna Sahib, so it would be nice to have darshan of the Gurdwaras/Smagams and have them uploaded on YouTube for the Sangat. If anyone can do the seva of recording and uploading to YouTube, it would be much appreciated. The Gurpurb is December 31. Not sure when the broadcast starts, probably a few days before
  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh daas recently (February 2011) went to Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. That's the actual name of the Takhat, which was established by Guru Tegh Bahadhur Sahib Ji Maharaj. Please do not turn this thread into a negative one. Here is what I saw when I went to Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib: - 3 Palki Sahibs in the Takhat Sahib: I knew of 2 Palkis and was wondering about 3, so I asked the Granthi Singh there after Sukhasan. They said the big Palki Sahib in the center serves a Puraatan hand written Saroop of Aaadh Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (I think the Saroop's scribe seva is done by Baba Deep Singh Ji). The Palki Sahib to the right serves Aadh Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. The Palki Sahib to the left serves Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji. All Saroops are Larivaar. - Sampooran Banian: All Bania read at the Takhat Sahib are Sampooran: Chaupai Sahib, Rehras Sahib are same as in Damdami Taksal Gutka Sahib. Mool Mantar is read up to 'Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach' This is even mentioned in a recent Hukamnama from Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib which tells the Sangat to recite Sampooran Bania. - Strict discipline in Takhat Sahib: There are 2 Sevadars, a Singh and a Bibi who ensure that nobody speaks while Keertan/Katha/Paath is going on. I really liked this. During evening Soorak Parkash Katha, the Darbar Sahib was packed with a lot of Sangat and nobody made a noise. Everyone was listening very carefully. The actual Parkaash Asthaan is a room in the center of the Takhat. In the room are Shaster and belongings of 9th and 10th Guru Sahibaan. There are also many Puraatan Saroops of Aadh Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji. The Puraatan Maryada of the Parkaash Asthan room is that only the 5 Singh Sahibaan of Takhat Sri Harmandir Sahib can enter and do Seva. This was told to me by the Granthi Singh. I hope that gives some understanding of the Puraatan traditions of this Great Takhat Sahib. Bhul Chuk Maar Kario.

I took it as my Panthic duty to answer doubts raised by them today and Anti-Maryada stance of theirs with Sangat here. They are advertising that Darshan Laal actually went to Akaal takhat to present his viewpoint to Panj Singh Sahibaan. But Panj Singh Sahibaan didn’t come to have his explanation and remained seated in Secretariat of Akaal Takhat. So he presented his Folder of Documents to Guru Granth Sahib ji and left the place. According to them, Panj Singh Sahibaan are stooges of RSS and therefore they declared him tankhaiya. They have openly challenged the order of Akaal Takhat by saying they’ll honour Darshan laal. Their argument is , Are panj Singh Sahibaan more powerful or higher authority than Guru Granth Sahib ji?? When darshan laal presented his case before Guruji, why Jathedars declared him tankhaiya? We’ll answer this. Akaal Takhat is the supreme temporal authority of Panth. And Jathedar of Akaal Takhat with four other Singhs becomes reperesentative of Guru, he has right to make decisions on behalf of Guru and Guru Panth. Have u ever heard a criminal going to a court but not presenting himself before Judge? Will Judge accept his presence if he remains seated outside Court and says Judge should come to him. Panj Singhs are Guru-Roop! What he wanted?? Guru Panth should have come to hear him?? Isn’t this sheer haume and ahankaar?? What was the problem if he had presented himself before Panj-Singh Sahibaan as a nimaana Sikh and gave his Pakh?? He didn’t, directly challenging the authority of Guru Khalsa Panth. In Ludhiana, Guru de laal were battling Punjab police and ashutosh noormehlia, taking bullets in chests and heads to protect the honour of Panth , and in Amritsar, within Darbar Sahib complex, this enemy of Panth was challenging Authority of Panth Like Noormehlia did. What’s the difference between two? Regarding keeping of document’s folder and DVD in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji, Sarse wala did same……. If u rememeber when Panth was calling him to Akaal Takhat to ask for forgiveness, he had in a statement apologised to Guru Gobind Singh ji. Did the Panth accept that apology?? NO, It didn’t. Panj Singh Sahib are the final authority in this regard…..we can do ardas to Guruji for forgiveness; it’s the panth which gives Tankha and Saza on behalf of Guruji. Panth is Guru-roop, it has all the authority to take decisions on Guru’s Behalf and Guru Gobind Singh ji Himself gave this Authority to Guru-Panth, Who is Darshan Laal to challenge this Authority of Panth?? And if he does, is he a Sikh? No, never, he can never be called a Sikh. Some Questions to Darshan laal and his gang of Guru-nindaks … 1. Does he consider Panj Singh Sahib Guru Khalsa Roop? 2. Does he believe in supremacy of Panth and authority of Jathedar Akaal takhat? 3. If he wants apology by placing his documents in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji, should Khalsa panth forgive Sarsewala also, coz he also asked for apology from Guru Gobind Singh ji?? 4. If he considers himself a nimaana Sikh, why didn’t he present himself before Panj Pyaare(Singh Sahibaan)? 5. Should Sikhs who want Amrit order Panj pyaare to come to them, instead of they Going to Panj Pyaaras for Amrit? 6. Can Sikhs just take a Khanda, baata, patase in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji, Do ardas and drink that water as Amrit as Amrit has been prepared by Ardas, what’s the need for Panj Singhs?? 7. Does he believe in Maryada of Khalsa Panth? If yes, why didn’t he follow it, if no, how can he call himself a Sikh? Khalsa ji, Some Anti-Dasam Granth Nindak protested with me for calling Darshan laal ‘’Gangu’’. I’m still firm on my stand, he is Gangu….who back-stabbed and betrayed Guru Ghar at crucial time. Same was done by darshan laal. What he didn’t get by doing keertan of baanis, both from Granth Sahib ji and Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji, he got name, fame, respect, money, honour…and what he did?? Betrayed the very same Khalsa Panth by speaking against Maryada of Panth. Even Radhswanis, Nirankaaris, Sarsewala, Ashutosh noormehlia say Guru Granth Sahib ji is a Good ,Knowledge Giving ‘’Scripture’’. They use Baani of Guru Granth Sahib ji to promote their sects, but don’t believe in Maryada of Panth. They don’t believe in baani of Sri Dasam Granth., they don’t believe in Authority of Akaal takhat and Panj Singh Sahibaan. They don’t believe in the authority of Panth to take action against Nindaks………. Don’t these Anti-Dasam Granthis do and say all the above things? Whats the difference between these Cultists and Darshan Laal, Singhsabhacanada and Bunch of Faridabaadi fools. They r sides of same coin,with same motive, to harm Khalsa panth, to finish our Existence as a Panth. I have to say...''Dushmna te ki gila a Patshaha de Patshah, role dittiyan ajj tere Sardara ne Sardariyan''. Darshan Laal is a tankhaiya and will have to present himself before Panj Singh Sahibaan, if he wants mercy from Panth, else he’ll be thrown out. Its maryada of Panth from ages, it’ll be upheld this time too. Khalsa ji, its time for all of us to get together. When u talk abt Panth Dokhis, don’t forget to mention Darshan lal and his SSC and missionaries. They call our Sant Mahapurakhs, our Jathedars as Bahmanvadis, pakhandis , RSS de agents,and show themselves as true Sikhs of Guru Granth Sahib ji…..I challenge them to show One, Just One Anti- Dasam Granth Sikh Shaheed in last 310 years history of Khalsa Panth. I have challenged them, I today also do same. Give one name of a Shaheed who didn’t believe in baani of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Same bahmanvaadi , pakhandi Taksalis and singhs from Dhadrian jatha were taking the Bullets of Punjab Police, fighting for Guru;s honour and maryada of Panth ….where were these Missionaries?? Dhadrainwale is a pakhandi for them, who is sitting from last 36 hours for right of shaheeds, who didn’t budge from his place even when bullets were shot at him, Where is Ghagga and his Khalsa Panchayat??? Where are faridabadi fools?? Why is it always that ‘’Goliyaan khan nu vi taksali te Gaala Khaan nu vi taksali’’? I Never wanted to raise this issue now, atleast for now, but these nindaks have forced me for doing this by speaking against Akaal Takhat and Sikh Shaheeds saying ‘’its karmi aapo aapni’’.Tommorow they’ll talk like this abt Sahibzadeys,Gurus and millions of Shaheeds. Why? Just because these shaheeds were true Sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh ji who didn’t doubt his Baani?? Its time to answer these Guru-nindaks. They are same as Ashutosh, sarsewala, nirankaaris and other guru-Nindaks like RSS. We have answer of there EACH AND EVERY QUESTION, I repeat, EACH AND EVERY QUESTION. Let them come and debate and see who’s a Sikh and who’s not, What is true and what is not. Confront them on every front, like we confront these pakhandis, take on them and give them a hard hitting answer. One is the Deh-dhaari Guru-dumm, sponsored by some Anti-sikh powers and other is ppl who are in Sikhi Baana but dont believe in panthic maryada and Baani of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji. Actually there is no vivaad amongst Sikhs regarding Baani, but some people who don't want unity and Charhdi Kala of Panth always rake up this issue. and we need to answer both these Enemies of panth at Same time, coz both of them have the same ultimate mission of finishing Sikhs as a Panth and dividing us in small parts, which will never re-unite to raise their heads against established tyrannies. I've been questioned by many Singhs, who do believe in Baani of Sri Dasam Granth, but have been confused by misguiding parchar of Panthdokhis, regarding parkash of Sri Dasam granth Sahib ji.Today we'll discuss about this Maryada in Sikhi which is not an issue but is being raked up as an ''Issue'' to divide Sikhs. When Guru Nanak Dev ji was asked by Siddhs as Sumer Parbat(Mount Kailash) who was his Guru, Maharaj ji replied ''Shabad Guru''. At one place , maharaj ji tells abt his Guru as '' Apranpar Paar-Brahm Parmeshar,Nanak Gur Milya soyi jeeo''. What Maharaj ji stated to the world was that One Lord Akaal is His Guru and he is Shabad roop. Guru Gobind Singh ji stated the same truth in his Baani Chaupai Sahib '' Aad Ant Eke avtaara, Soi Guru Samjheyo Hamaara! Guru Nanak's and Guru Gobind Singh ji's Guru was One, One Akaal Roop, Shabad roop Waheguru! So what is the Title, duty,value of Our Ten Gurus?? How are they Gurus?? Yes, they are Gurus, coz they carried Shabad in their Bodies, They were one with Shabad. Their physical bodies were respected because they gave message of One Lord Akaal purakh through them.! So in reality, Ultimate Guru is Shabad, but the Deh, the body which carries that Shabad is also worshippable , respectable. This Small Vichaar is enough to explain why Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji is respected and worshipped by Sikhs. Lets move to one very important chapter of Sikh History! On 30th August 1604, Guru Arjan dev ji did first parkash of Adi- Granth in Sri Harimandir sahib. Saroop of Adi Granth Sahib ji was brought by Maharaj ji to Sri harimandir sahib from raamsar.Baba Budda ji was carrying the saroop, and Guru arjan dev ji was doing chaur di sewa. Amazing! Why was Guru doing Chaur di sewa on a Book which is not Guru?? Then Guruji reaches Harimandir Sahib and here a Peerha Sahib is ready with beautiful rumalle for Adi Granth Sahib ji. Granth Sahib ji is placed on Peerha sahib and Baba Budda ji does Parkash of Granth.( here we have to under stand the meaning of parkash. it means TO OPEN. Unless u open a Gutka Sahib or a Book, how will u read sumthing from it.) After Parkash Baba Budda ji took Hukamnaama from Aadi-Granth. And during all this time , Guru Arjan Dev ji was sitting with Sangat on floor. IN the night when time for rest came, Guru arjan dev ji started the maryada of Sukh-asan of Granth Sahib ji. He slept on the floor, and Holy Granth was placed on the Bed where earlier Guruji used to sleep. Time went by and Guruji had to give his Shaheedi, 6th Guru, Guru hargobind Maharaj sat on Gur-gaddi but the maryada of Sewa of Granth Sahib ji continued un-interrupted. Guru-jyot kept changing its physical form, but maryada was same during all gurus regarding sewa of Granth Sahib ji. Now question arises Why did Guru Arjan dev ji and other Gurus Placed Granth Sahib ji on Peerha Sahib higher than them,sat themselves in sangat, did alll the sewa, parkash, sukhasan, Chaur sahib on Granth Sahib ji when it was not having title of GURU? Answer to these questions is the answer to Maryada of sewa of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib. When Bhai Mani SIngh ji and Baba Deep Singh ji compiled Baani of Guru Gobind SIngh ji Maharaj, they had example of Guru Arjan dev ji in front. Thats why they gave all the respect, which should be given to Baani of Gurus, To Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji., because they were not like today's Nindaks, who doubted baani . They believed every word to be of Guru Gobind SIngh ji,and therefore stood for Baani's honour. Like Guru Nanak Dev ji and ten Gurus are respected aand worshipped because they held the HOLY Shabad in them, Like Guru Granth Sahib ji was respected even before getting Guru Gaddi, Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji is also respected because it Beholds the Shabad in it. This article is not for those who question the very authenticity of Dasam Baani, its for those who consider it Baani but are confused whether we should do its Parkash and do Matha-tek. Some questions... 1. If Guru Arjan dev ji, being Guru can place Adi Granth(which contained baanis of Gurus, Sants, Bhagats, gursikhs, Bhatts) on a higher level than his, Do u think Guru Granth Sahib ji might ne having a problem with Baani of Guru Gobind Singh ji being respected and worshipped same way?? 2. If only Guru has the right to sit on Palki, Takhat, Gaddi,Why did Guru Arjan dev ji Maharaj do parkash of Aadi-Granth on palki?? 3. If Guru Arjan Dev ji , being Guru, can do Chaur sahib on Granth Sahib ji, Why cant we sikhs do same to Baani of Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj Also? 4. How will we read Dasam Baani if we dont do Parkash of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji?( parkash means to open) 5. If people dont want Sri Dasam Granth to be placed on Peerha Sahib or Palki Sahib, Then what are the options we have?? Either we put it on Raal, which is not big enough for a 1428 ang Granth or second option is we put it on Floor. So Whats the best option out of Three?? 6.If Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji's parkash cannot be done with Guru Granth Sahib ji, why is Baani of Dasam Granth printed in Same Gutka Sahibs which have Baani of Guru Granth Sahib ji? Are we doing a Paap by printing Baani of Both Granths in One Gutka Sahib? Should Baani of Nitnem be Separated?? Should Baani of Dasam Granth not be read in Guru Granth Sahib ji's presence?? If Baani can be read, then why the Granth Having that baani not be kept with Maharaj ji?? Pyareo, Dasam granth is always placed on left hand side of Sanctum sanctorum at Takhats or at Left Hand side of Guru Granth Sahib ji at Taksal or Nihang Chaunis. Its for respect of Guru Granth Sahib ji ,showing superiorty of Guru Granth Sahib ji. Dont we do parikarma of Maharaj with keeping Guruji on our Right hand. Ever thought why we do that?? Its not abt 'Guru' khalsa ji, i'm sure my Guru Granth Sahib ji is never angry and will never be angry if we respect our Guru Gobind Singh ji's Baani in his holy presence. Sri Dasam Granth has been reffered to as ''Chota Granth ji'' in history books, like younger brother of Guru and today ppl are making them look like two opponents who r fighting it out. Plz wake up, and stand up for respect of Sri Dasmesh Pita's Baani! Unite Khalsa ji, the day we unite, these Pakhandis, our outer enemies will just vanish in air, they'll not be seen around,then only we can together strive for a Strong and Prosperous Sikh Nation. Have faith on Baani. Our History has everything, just search it and u'll find every tradition we are following is from time of Gurus, taught by Gurus themselves and not by sum Bahmans. Lets Pray for charhdi kala of panth, respect Baani, whether it is in Guru Granth Sahib ji or Sri Dasam Guru Granth Sahib ji. There was a time, Sri Dasam Granth was parkash at all the four Takhats and at panjva Takhat Chalda vaheer. The Day SGPC stopped doing it at the Takhats controlled by it, our Charhdi kala has taken a halt. Lets unite and try our best to restore the honour of Our Guru Gobind singh Ji Sache Patshah Maharaj ji's Baani. He did so much for us, what are we doing for honour of his Baani. We pray and hope a day will come, when Parkash of Sri Dasam Guru Granth Sahib ji will be done at all the Takhats again. Till then, our struggle will continue. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh To the Sevadars of this great event: - Can you talk about the Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Sehaj Paath, who will do the Paath, will there be Parkash, etc. - I really hope there will be audio and video recordings. This is a time when people are doing massive nindia and recordings will help the Khalsa Nation so they can listen and enjoy the Anand even after the Smagam.
