  1. The way you keep on asking how people would feel if their female relations would come across these agori sadhus is irrelevant, it's India and apart of its heritage. I wonder how our guru sahibs welcomed Dhan Dhan dhoti guru Nanak Devi ji mahrajs son, baba Sri chand? As he too was a sadhu sant?

Tell me ur havin a bubble? So something is part of ancient tradition, that means it must be given leeway, no matter how gandha? might aswel downplay uncle-niece marriages in south india aswel as acceptable, since it is old culture down there. Oh n why not bring back mass practice of sati all over india?

Why these so called Sikhs don't go around and give a slap where it is really needed, like the numerous pakhandi sant who rape girls in the name of sikhi, I don't know? Instead beat up one sadhu sant and let a papi like ram rahim take centre stage?

Does it make sense to you, because it don't make sense to me!

Totally agree, but at the same time, these pakhandis r govt protected. Ram rahim has had attempts on his life, but wat can u do wen he has z-list security n laal batthi on top of his car? Everytime sikhs have protested we get shot at! remember ludhiana?

i wudnt b suprised if these r govt sponsored sikhs who give punishments out to make sikhs look like aggressors. Just like wat happned at the akal takht about couple months ago, it turns out those sikhs fightin with swords were infact rss payed gundas.

  2. Aghori Sadhus have been wondering India naked for 150 years, they flock to the Kumbh Mela in their hundreds and I've never seen Sikhs proactively opening a dialogue with them to prevent them from practising Shaivism - which would be wrong anyways, but a darn sight better than kicking the cr*p out of them. Why target a single person with physical violence and degrade him in public. Giving a good thrashing and asking questions later is not good practice and tolerance goes out of the window.

Indeed, i agree with wat u have written above. In my above posts, i havnt condoned the beating, coz i do condemn the beating, it is OTT. But on the otherhand, i also codemn the nakedness of these ppl. Tell me wud u want little kids seeing men walkin around with their meat n 2 veg hangin out?

  3. that's not what happened, he didn't go to a Gurdwara, even if he wasn't being Nanga there is probably more people naked, India has the highest Prostitution in the world, not in Asia but in the world.

I kno he didnt go into a gurdwara, but im saying it in a possible scenario/annecdotally. These sadhus CHOOSE to live naked. Those naked ppl in india r naked coz they r poorer than poor, these sadhus in the other hand, have money for ganja/weed, yet have none for shorts/pyjamas.
  4. 1857 it was the gorkhas and bengali muslims who made up majority of the soldiers in the british east india army with rest of the soldiers of the british east india army being sikhs whose leaders were loyal to the british an sided with the british an refused to be part of the sikh empire who fought against sikhs in the first and second anglo sikh wars

In 1857 yes the bengali muslim soldiers rebelled but the sikhs still fought along side the gorkhas and the sikhs from south of the sutej river who were loyal to the british during the anglo sikh wars

As well the maratha rebels of 1857 wanted to re establish maratha govt

Heck if sikhs united against the british in 1857 the sikhs itleast would of had their own country easy

Panjabi muslims, sikhs, pathans and the dogra maharaja of jammu/kashmir also supported the british.....and y not? I wudda done exact same thing. Id rather support the ppl who took our rule, than the ppl who backstabbed us (hindus), or the ppl who wanna re-establish their dirty empire (muslims).

Funny isnt it, how whenever this topic comes up, its ALWAYS sikhs who get cussed for helping the brits during the mutiny, when we were not the only ones! All calculated hatred. Jus like how an experienced sikh general left the british ranks n joined the indian liberation army, but wasnt allowed 2 b the leader of it. Just like also how indians keep promoting that bhagat singh wasnt into sikhi again, in his final weeks n hours, when we know he re-grew his guti (top knot). Also his face isnt on indian currency for some reason.

  5. So u have no problem with men walking around nanga with their tickle-tackles out, standing infront of your mum/sisters/daughters?

As we all know, a gurdwara is open for the whole world to walk inside of, but wud u allow this nagha sadhu mug 2 walk in do matha tek and for the whole sangat 2 c his rear end n front end? I feel no sorrow/feelings for these naked "saints" gettin beats!

We all criticise girls for wearing mini skirts n shaming themselves up, well arnt these naked sadhus even worse? Surely they cant b exempt from criticism

  6. what is your aim ? is it to give a name which will inspire the kid to become a great gursikh and jodha or is it to be 'individual' 'unique' blah blah compared to other sikh kids ?

if it is the former then you need to focus on the meaning of that name i.e. is it a quality of Akal Purakh or a name referring to Akal Purakh so that the convention of reading the child's name makes sense ... Singh /Kaur of /belonging to /having the attribute of .... e.g. Dayal Singh can be read as Singh of Dayal (the compassionate one) or Singh who is Dayal (compassionate)

However if you are doing for 'competition' of creating something new and different have a deep think on it, why would you saddle a trainee Gursikh with a name that has no real connection to his/her roots? I have known parents who have done this and found that their kids have grown away from their faith and culture as they have been influenced by others that they are something other than sikh ...

Warriors that you have mentioned apart from Sahibzada Jujhar Singh ji do not stand up to the ideals of a sikh warrior, in fact they were bloodthirsty in creating a name for themselves not being righteous ...is that what you would like your kids to be like ?

I c where your coming from, but all im saying is, that rather than all these boring deep, preet, jeet, pal, inder etc ending names how bowt being bit more creative ang go for something different, but at the same time with some meaning and purpose. Also it has nothing to do with competition. Also whats wrong in being a bit different with names and wanting to stand out, but in a good way? Thats the whole point of having an identity in the 1st place. Cheers

  7. Make sure you name them after warriors of Sikh history, not world history.

Well wat wud b the point in just naming them after sikh warrior names, wen really thats my whole point of being bit different with kids names?

Thing is, sikhs have alot of names which dont even have anyfink 2 do with sikh dharam. Names like alamghir, iqbal, tanvir, ram, even hanuman r names that come frm other faiths, yet they r acceptable, so y not names of famous non-sikh warriors?

Names such as sikander (alexander), kamal (kamal mustafa attaturk), jujhar (sahibzada) r the 3 names that i was thinkin of. Even hari (nalwa). Obviously every name has to be taken into special consideration, i mean if an apna names their kid joshua/muhammed/moses/joseph/hailie/mazda etc then that wud be takin it too far.

    Wat do u say?

  8. well i will name all my kids after warriors of world history, so when it comes 2 regarding the kids names, u can tell em, ur named after a famous yodha (warrior), which is always a great thing to tell goreh/non-sikhs.
