  1. Your responses make sense. I have already swapped out my leather belt and wallet for non-leather ones. Now I need to find a pair of shoes that don't have leather in them.
  2. I did go back through the how-to section but this thread obviously missed my attention.
  3. Yes, this helped a lot. Thank you simran345ji.
  4. Vahiguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vahiguru Ji Ki Fateh, Could someone please post in English translation and Roman transliteration the Ardas before and after eating? I'm looking for the ones that start with salok (before eating) and pauri (after eating). I know I posted this in a different thread, but I don't think anyone noticed it. I apologize for the double post. Thank you.
  5. I can help (maybe) with at least one part of your post. Belts, shoes, coats, etc. don't necessarily have to made from animal products. I wear a belt that's made from non-animal products and my wallet is also not from the flesh of an animal. As for shoes, you can buy canvas shoes that aren't made from animals. Most anything that's made with leather, fur, etc., you can find alternatives. You just have to look harder.
  6. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh, Can someone please translate into English and transliterate into Roman the Ardaas before and after eating that was posted by _shastr_? The one with the salok and pauri. Or at least post where I can find those online? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Gurfateh, Justin
  7. Edit: I see that a proper response was given in the other thread posted by this person on the same subject. A much better response than what I had originally put up.
  8. Singhji, Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I'm going to do what jivanji suggested with writing down where I'm at in a notebook. I appreciate your input though. Gurfateh, Justin
  9. Savinderpalsinghji, Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, That is definitely food for thought. I will keep that // in mind. Thank you for posting it. Gurfateh, Justin
  10. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Thank you, jivanji. Gurfateh, Justin
  11. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Thank you for your answer, Singhji. Gurfateh, Justin
  12. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Jivanji, Just a quick question: What's a kappra? Sorry, I don't understand Hindi (or Punjabi - Yet.) Thank you. Gurfateh, Justin
  13. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I don't know if I understand this correctly or not, but from what I understand, a beadbi is an insult to a kakar, the saroop of Guru Sahib, kesh, etc. Am I correct in this understanding? If I am, I was just wondering what would constitute a beadbi to the kara? I'm asking this so that when I do decide to wear a kara, I will know what not to do (I already don't smoke, drink alcohol, do drugs, gamble, etc.). Thank you for your replies. Gurfateh, Justin
  14. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I was wondering the other day if wearing/using leather products such as wallets, belts, shoes, purses, etc. is okay for us as Sikhs? What got me wondering is the vegetarian diet of a lot of Sikhs. What are your opinions? Gurfateh, Justin
  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Jivanji, yes, that helped immensely. Thank you very much. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
