  1. Jagsaw,

I am equally baffled as to why so many Sikhs are doing the job of the Indian govt for them.

British Sikhs should strive to be at the highest positions in all aspects of public life - journalism, the police, the military, medicine, law etc. Our aspirations should be to contribute in all sectors of society - including politics.

Sikhs in visible military positions will instil values which are complementary to good role models. Leadership skills, so often lacking in our community, are to be learned on the battlefield, which may one day be the making of a future politician, cabinet minister or a captain of industry in another field.

Personally, I'd bring back national service.

Oh Daily Filth, where do I begin ?

It is not for no reason that Bollywood portrays us as simpletons. It is not for no reason that they have rung rings around us for the last 25 years.

I dunno when it was, maybe 10 or 12 years ago (but certainly less than the 30 years since 1984 we talk about and certainly within the growing up lifetime of most of the young Sikhs here on this forum) but it was Prince Charles that went out of his way to beg for a Sikh Regiment. Indian High Commission went absolutely ballistic and into overdrive. I remember so clearly how Hindu organizations with the finacial support of the Indian Embassy gave their all to stop it.

Fast forward to to 2015 and, from the comments on this thread, one can see quite clearly why and how we were so easy to massacre in 1984 and manipulate ever since. Like it or not, we are living walking true examples of our bollywood stereotype. In 2015 Indian High Commission don't even need to do anything to stop it.....our new young generation are doing the job for them :wow:

  2. The only way in my opinion that Sikh regiment can be raised is if there recruitment from Punjab. There would be no shortage of eager recruits and they would suddenly start to grow their kesh.

It would be from Punjab, as well as here, as well as Canada or indeed anywhere. Thats how the British Army operates generally. Unlike other nations, you don't have to be British to be in the British Army. The Gurkha Regiment is the obvious template in that Britain recruits directly from Nepal rathet than from the 100,000 strong Nepali Gurkha community in the UK but the British Army as a whole is full of Fijians, Somoans etc.

I have also noticed the trimming of beards in the Indian Sikh regiments.

Its not just the close trmming, which is the obvious norm among Sikh soldiers in India. The thing one really needs to both consider and remember is the effect on all Indian Army soldiers the official declarations during the 1980's and 1990's had on the psychee of the army. Lets never forget how the Indian Army bulletin 'Baat Cheet' (baat cheet special #153) instructed all Indian soldiers to be on the lookout for people who are called 'Amritdharis'. The Indian Army bulletin proclaimed that all Amritdharis are enemies of the nation and any sighting of an amritdhari should be brought to the attention of the authorities at once. In practice, what that meant was that being an amritdhari was more than enough reason for an Indian soldier to shoot you dead. Indeed, for a long time now, the Indian Army and that includes its Sikh Regiment, have been obsessed with amritdharis.:

The Army's obsession with Amritdharis becomes clear for the appeal the Army Gazette had released through Army Headquarters: it was published in Baat Cheet Special No. 153. The Appeal said. "Any knowledge of the Amritdharis who are dangerous people and pledged to commit murders, arson and act of terrorism should immediately be brought to the notice of the authorities. The people might appear harmless from outside but they are basically commited to terrorism. In the interest of all of us their idenity and whereabouts must always be disclosed."

There is no dearth of men who are ready to identify Amrtidharis and disclose their whereabouts. One such Amritdhari's presence in village Sadulal, Amritsar District was reported to the Army. Sohan Singh (32) of Longowal village of Gurdaspur - a small agriculturist had gone with his wife and small daughter to look after the land of his father-in-law who had fallen sick. "Some army men suddenly came to my father's house when we were sitting down to eat and asked my husband if he was an Amritdhari. He said he was a religious Sikh. The army men were abusive, they pulled his beard, opened out his turban and said Sikhs are badmashes, my husband said, "I am a small peasant, it does not matter if people think bad of me." At that those men threw him on the ground and began to beat him badly, then they dragged him out of house and took him in their jeep." The statement was made by his wife. Bhajan Pratap Singh of village Tarseka, Amritsar District, who was in the lock-up next to the rooms where Sohan Singh had been put told us what had happened there, "I could hear him cry and ask for water, I think an employee perhaps was going to give him some water when I heard someone abusing him.

"Is he your ?" Others who were in that camp used to hear him shriek and one day everything was quiet. We came to know that Sohan Singh's eyes had been gouged out and every joint of his body had been broken with steel rods. Later when his body was handed over to his widow and his elder brother Baldev Singh, they found the eyes were not there, the body was just pulp without joints and it had become unusually long, the Army had handed it over to the S.H.O. Jhandiala, District Amritsar, who had entered the case as one of suicide, and before giving the body to them, the police made the widow sign a statement that it was a case of suicide. There was no post-mortem report to prove that the man had died of torture. Sohan Singh's body was brought to his village Longowal and cremated there.

  3. Fantastic news.

Unfortunately, this idea was disbanded after Sir Trevor Phillips, the then head of the CRE (Commission for Racial Equality) suggested it may lead to accusations of racism.

Yes but Trevor Phillips got involved after complaints by Hindus and the Indian High Commission in London.

This is why I am shocked and dissapointed by most of the comments on this thread. Many of you don't seem to realise this but you're playing right into the hands of the Indian government. Don't you see that it was them, last time, that were running around like headless chickens desperately trying to put a stop to this because they feared it would give Sikhs legitamacy in their assertion of being seperate from India and Hindus in general. It was them that put a stop to it last time but this time, judging by the comments here, we Sikhs are determined to shaft ourselves on their behalf.

Not only would this give our youth the military training they need but also advance our claim of being a race seperate from India.

Remember also, that in the Sikh Regiments of the British Army in years gone by, the Army instantly court-marshalled and dismissed any Sikh that EVER EVER cut a single hair of his beard or head. Keen to install the Khalsa spirit the British insisted the Sikh soldier was a real Amritdhari Sikh. In contrast, the current Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army has an official policy that sas the soldier must have a trimmed beard, i.e can NOT be an amritdhari. Remember that before you oppose it and remember who is cheering on your opposition.

  4. Most of the crime in surrey is committed by white people check the stats and check the papers. Ya Sikhs live in huge numbers there but they have almost zero presence in any of the real ghetto areas I know this because I've been to surrey countless number of times and know the place inside out truth is the sikh areas are not working class and would be considered middle class to upper a lot of houses have BMW's and Mercedes parked on their drive ways and have huge houses that would be considered mansions in the uk. I really don't know what your trying to do here but alot of what you've said is simply not true.

You seem to have a zero understanding of things little brother, and clearly have not digested anything I previously said. You're talking about "mansions" in Surrey whilst paying no attention to the fact that those mansions are the same price as a 3ft x 3ft wooden garden shed in the London "ghettos" Hammertime referred to. So you shouldn't be using superficial things such as that as your examples of non-ghettos just as you shouldn't be using the odd Mercedes an BMW as an example. Its not your fault, because you didn't know, but one of the key differnces between Canada and the UK is the fact that in the UK cars such as BMW, Audi and Merceds are the aam lok cars, as common on the roads and drives as Ford or Honda. In fact, far more common than Honda or Toyota, so not in any way the status symbol they still are in Canada. And this is important for us as Sikhs to understand because Gurbani makes it clear that we should be able to differentaite reality from illusion. For example, I in England, or YOU in Canada might think we are more advanced than the auntie in Singapore because we are getting from A to B in our car whilst she is almost certainly waiting at the bus stop to get a bus. Its only when we get past the illusion and enter reality do we realise that we are almost definately not richer than that bus passenger. Its only when we realise that it costs a minimum of $200,000 to get a moving vehicle on the road (in the interest of the envionment) in Singapore that we realise that my claims of rich in London and your claims of rich in rich Canada are pure examples of Kaljug....pure examples of a relative illusion.

What you didn't understand, or perhaps bother to read, from my last message is that both I in Southall and the Sikh in Surrey live in a ghetto because they are both places that no one other than we Sikhs wish to live in and never in a million years attract well to do hipsters etc.

The locations in London that Hammertime mentioned, on the other hand, are magnets for white hipsters and general arty farty media types. Hammertime mentioned them because he knows very little about London. He doesn't realise that there is no area in London where one has to walk miles before one sees a white face. He doesn't realise how the areas he imagines to be non-white ghettos are, in fact, full of Whites and include a hundreds of thousands of Hispanic South Americans that have made London their home over the last decade. I'll repeat what I said last time, in the London areas that Hammertime thinks are ghettos, a tiny 3 bedroom townhouse without a drive or garage, costs a minimum of $2 million. Remeber that is a MIMIMUM ! And even then you don't get to own the property at that price because the $2 Million just gives you the priveledge of having the lease for 99 years.

As I told you beforebrother, you didn't realise it but you were groomed here by extreme right wing facist party supporters. You took on board what they said about life in 'muslim UK' and took it as reality without taking into account why they are saying the things they say. In the same way, you're taking what Hammertime says about London as gospel without realising that he lives in the north of England and knows practically zero about London.

The moral here is never trust anything a right wing facist says. Thy have their own motives for saying things and most of the time the motivation comes from a deep rooted and irrational hatred of all muslims. Don't let them groom you into that hate club my friend. Your parents bought you up better than that.

  5. If you live some parts of London you would have drive over 10 miles to see a white person. Birmingham being smaller 5 miles Manchester 4-5 miles

40 years ago it was the reverse

. If you lived on say on Dartford Essex you have drive over 15 miles to east London to see a black person

What the hell are you saying Hammertime ? :omg:

Do you even know London at all ? Even the areas that used to be 'black' areas like Brixton, Lewisham, etc are full to the brim with 'white' French, Spanish, Italian etc, not to mention English. There is only one place in London where yu'd have to walk a fair mile before you see a white man and that place is our own 'Sikh' ghetto: Southall.

Going back to your earlier post where you mentioned certain areas and described them as "dumps", you don't seem to understand that all of those areas you mentioned are also full choc a block of white hipsters and artists and in all those areas, as the recent sale last week demonstrated, $500,000 Canadian will just about buy you a 3ft x 3ft dirt wooden garden shed. Whereas if you're looking for small terraced 3 bedroom townhouse, that will cost you upwards of $2 million and even then you won't actualy own it as the $2 million merely entitles you to a 99 year lease. For example, you mentioned Islington as a "dump" without realising that even the multi-billionaire former warmongering Prime Minister Tony Blair lives in a old terraced townhouse there. You mentioned the East End without realising that it is, these days, absolutely full of white American and Canadian artists and models etc as well as white hipsters from around the globe.

See this is where you and your friends are going wrong when you're showing photos of suburban houses in Surrey. I said before, you don't define ghetto in terms of old looking and new looking. I mean of course Surrey, where the roads as well as houses were built in the 1970's onwards is going to appear more modern than London where the roads and houses are medieval. But you also have to remember that visually Surrey looks exacty the same as Compton and Watts in Los Angeles. Compton is also new and spacious with large houses.

A 'Ghetto' is where one particular community has concentrated itself in and where no others, such as whites wish to be in. Where I live, Southall, it is a ghetto. Surrey is a ghetto and if you read what its reputation is among white Canadians you'll realise this. Handsworth is another.

So, as you can see, it is normally we Sikhs aroud the world who live in ghettos, as we tend to concentrate in places that no hipster, artist or yuppie would ever be seen dead in.

My point to you is the same point I've tried to make continously to you and that is the fact that your bigotry and hatred towards Muslims will always come back and bite you on the bottom because there are others, such as white Canadians, who hold exactly the same views about Sikhs. As we, as a community, are on the receiving end of it from others, that should be enough of a wake up call to you telling you to rethink your views about others.

  6. ^ See that people ? :stupidme:

Are you happy now 'sheikherbooty' and hammertime etc ? This, is what happens when a handful of venomous bigots full of wild anti-Muslim hysteria start making constant posts on sikhsangat. A not very bright and clearly intellectualy vulnerable individual sitting thousands of mles away in Canada actually gets his opinions and 'facts' about a foreign nation from bigots. Not being clever enough to decypher the intentions of those who give their version of their 'reality' in the UK, the vulnerable youngster reading it from Canada takes it as gospel. :surrender:

In a weird way, you UK facist party memebers and sypathisers here have actually demonstrated very well how grooming works. Over the internet you've pretended you're someone else (a Sikh...with Sikh values of tolerance and respect) whilst feeding an intellectualy immature youngster in another country (ghettosikh) lies about Muslims in the UK. He, being young an' all, is not able to see how he is being groomed by members and supporters of groups akin to the Ku Klux Klan. Therefore, not yet knowing his lefts from his right, he falls for evrything hook line and sinker.

I'll tell you what, if this was a plan by some of you UK based facists to expose the workings of internet peado grooming than I have to salute you guys for your masterplan. It was brilliant.

  7. Wow. This thread's deteriorated fast since I stopped posting on it.

My advice then to the OP: Stop keeping boyfriends. It just makes half of our community, inlcuding me, look down on and have a low opinion of you and your family. Especially your family.

Instead, ask your family to find you a suitable Gursikh husband, but reiterate that he must, in the interest of Sikhi and anticaste, be a Ramgharia, Khatri, chamar or bhatra or something. Not a jatt.

Happy days. We're all winners then and we're all happy. The only people that won't be happy of course are the ones (many of whom are here amongst us now) who are from families where their sisters or daughters keep boyfriends. They like to bury their heads in the sand and pretend that more than half of our 'community' don't laugh at them, look down on them and see them as kanjar parvaars. So, apart from them we all, incuding you and your parents, will be happy. Happy days indeed.

  8. No way is Sikh crime on Canda on the same level as muslim crime in UK,

Sikh murders, shootings, home invasions, drugs, gangs have, over the last decade as a whole, been on Columbian levels in terms of violence. In contrast, UK Muslims of the same thing have been on the level of a small peaceful country town in Olkaholma.

Let me tell you something about Surrey for example. In Surrey, there have even been cases of some of our old bajurgs been violently mugged on the streets at nights by our own apnian kurian high on meths and/or heroin.

sikhs have been there since the 1920

You seem to be confusing your Canadas with your Englands. The Sikhs in England have been here since the 1920's. In Canada, they've been there since the end of the 1800's.

as for us to be the most hated community in Canda, that's crazy. sikhs have progressed and integrated in canada compared to any other country

Of course its crazy, but we live in a crazy world. The Canadian survey found that white Canadians hate Sikhs and Muslims almost on an equal level (and by the way the report found that Canadians like Hindus) because of the same reasons crazy reasons that you dislike muslims in the UK. Drugs, crime, insurance fraud, murder, gangs etc. Now thats scary and should really give us pause for thought. Less than 1 in 3 Canadains said they could say anything positive about Sikhs. In the UK, in contrast, the BBC survey found that the Sikhs are the most liked of all and this is borne out in the way that even extreme right-wing racist groups such as EDL make public announcements about how much love they have for Sikhs.

So yes, we live in a crazy world.

    http://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/what-canadians-think-of-sikhs-jews-christians-muslims/

You do have a gripe against Canadian Sikhs for some reason though.

I hold Canadian residency. My chache, thaye, pooah, mamme, mother in law, brother in law and 80% of my restidars as a whole live in Canada. I know both. I have no loyalty to no nation other than my beloved Punjab. I simply tell it like it is and as this thread was full of inaccuracies and ill-informed posts I used my knowledge to correct them. If you're saying I was supposed to let the ill-informed posts stand unchallenged and to challenge them means I must 'hate' Canada than I'm sorry to dissapoint you.

  9. I found that Sikhs are by and large quite respected in Canada. Surrey is a large in itself of almost half million people so you cannot really claim that the whole of Surrey as a ghetto.

What you "find" and what is fact, are 2 totally different things.

Fact number 1: A major survey into community relations by a British news organisation (BBC) found the Sikhs to be the most liked community in the UK.

Fact number 2: A major survey into community relations by a Canadian news organisation (Macleans) found that the Sikhs are the most hated community in the whole of Canada.

cannot really claim that the whole of Surrey as a ghetto.

Brother, you really do not have any idea what Surrey's reputation is amongst Canadians do you ? :biggrin2:

  10. I'm referring to the UK I've visited Canda once and didn't see any sikh gettos Infact didn't see any. If love gettos go live in the multicultural slum you and political liberal elite have created

You might wanna revisit again brother. This time with your eyes open. You see, if your judgement of a 'ghetto' is based on a comparison of roads and houses built in the 1970's rather than the 1770's than of course the newer areas are not going to 'look' and feel as ghetto as the old, very old, areas. But, ask anyone in Canada what the reputation is of 'Surrey' for example. Its reputation, throughout the whole of Canada, is of crime, social problems, drugs etc and remember it is the place in the western world with the highest concentration of Sikhs...i.e the Sikh ghetto.

And Canada is a good example of all the complaints you're making on this thread because don't forget, in Canada it is the Sikhs who are the most hated community in the nation. It is Sikhs, not muslims, that wider white society blames for the same thing you're blaming muslims in the UK for...i.e lack of integration, failure of multiculturalism, ghettos, drugs, gangs, murder etc.

I hope that makes you stop and think how wrong you are for playing the part of the pawn in the right wing's game. Every single reason you give for disliking racially the Muslim in the UK are exactly the same reasons the racists in Canada give for dsiliking Sikhs. Please think about that for one moment.

  11. They are still quiet a few honest people in india. Relationships are based on trust. What if tomorrow, my prnts select a guy and he tourches me after wedding.

You alwz have to take risk.

Statisticaly, how likely are you to get torched by your in-laws ? Is it really the "risk" you paint it out to be ?

I'm just saying because I've ha an arranged marriage and as, of yet, neither I nor my parents have set fire to my wife.

Most people I know have had arranged marriages and I honestly can't think of a single occassion where any of them have ever set alight the wife or daughter in law. Statisticaly then, it must happen so rarely that it should be barely worth considering.

On the other hand, whenever on Sikh forums, I read excuses from some Sikh girls as to why they want to have a boyfriend and marry who they meet and choose, the risk of being set on fire in an arranged marriage is always at or near the top of the list. :blink2:

There are then excuses and then there are excuses. Some are simply excuses to justify a certain type of moral behaviour.

  12. Actually madrid has 4 clubs, réal, atletico, getafe n rayo vallecano. I agree with rest of wat u wrote tho.

Likes of wat shankly did, by taking a small club like liverpool, frm the 2nd division all the way to the top is not goin to be done again. Just like how brian clough took notts forest from another division up to the 1st div, won back to back european cups. Money has ruined the game for sure.

Wat ive always found interesting is the influence of the english on the rest of the world wen it comes to football. Such as ath bilbao wearing red/white stripes, influenced by sunderland, juve wearing black/white, coz of notts forest, villareal called 'yellow submarines', coz of the beatles, ac milan bein called milan n not milano, due to its english founder etc.

No Juventus's uniform is homage to Notts County football club and interestingly enough when Juve opened their brand new 'English Style' stadium a couple of years ago they invited little old Notts County to be guests of honour and play the first game there. But you're right, from fans all over the world begging their teams to build what they call 'English' style stadiums to Argentina's top team (Newell Old Boys) football fans all over the world take their lead from England. In some respects, they've taken the English way and made it better when when takes into account the mass terraces in the German Bundesliga, which is a shame because the money men are looking at the success of the English premier league and want to change things at home and remodel on the english model.

Btw...I have these note books in which I always note down interesting facts and things I find out. I;m sure, in one of my notebooks, I have some stuff written down about english fooball kits, strips and how they have influenced international teams. If I can dig it up I'll edit and add to this post.

  13. The London teams contribution to European football is the weakest.it took a London team 55 years to become champions of Europe. The north and midlands dominates. Utd Liverpool villa forest

13 professional football clubs in one city, and many more if one includes those just outside London such as Watford and Luton etc. The world has seen nothing like it my friend and never will. This is why the world sees London as the spiritual home of football. In contrast, Paris has just one team, Madrid has just 2, Rome has just 2, New York has just 1 etc. And bear in mind that each of these clubs in London has a higher average attendance than nearly all the teams in MLS.

Glad you mentioned Villa and Forest though because kids these days will find it difficult to comprehend how Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa were the best teams in the world not long ago...i.e European Champions, in fact Notts Forest won it twice. Villa really is a sleeping giant but I suppose it is difficult attracting the world's best players to Birmingham :biggrin2:

  14. cricket didnt originate in india it orginated in england same with soccer so the how r they following mumbai

You're an . Practically every sport originated in England...i.e Tennis, American Football via Rugby, Ping Pong, Raquet Ball (squash), Basketball via Netball , Football etc etc. I've made my point to you twice already. If you wern't able to comprehend it before you're never going to be able to now if I tell you again. I'd simply be wasting my time.

And what the hell is this thing you call 'soccer' ? Do you really think anyone on planet earth knows what you're talking about when you use that word ?

Shall we in the world, when referring to Ice Hockey from now on start referring to it with a silly name such as 'bliggoboogoo' ?

Shall we in the world, when referring to Basketball from now on start referring to it with a silly name such as 'miliyokuuutolotolo' ?

YES.....thats how stupid we (the wholeworld) think you are for calling football by a silly nonsensical name. All the more stupid because you picked it up from silly nonsensical private school toffs from victorian times who had a pathetic habit of shortening words to nonsensical words ...i.e sandwiches to 'sarnies'....rugby to 'ruggers' association FOOTBALL to 'soccer'. Because they were rich upper class idiots nobody in society took them seriously andd they themselves grew out of their sillyness and reverted back to the word 'football' a century ago.

Cue forward a century later and we have Canadians sitting in Canada still calling Football by a silly 'bliggoboogoo' and 'miliyokuuutolotolo' type name and expecting the word to take them (and their partaking in the sport) seriously. :nono:

Made worse, by the fact that you don't know or understand how the definition of the word 'ball' is a round, sphere shaped object and instead refer to an egg shaped definately non-sphered object (i.e somethng that definately does not fall under the definition of a ball) as a ball. Made worser still by the fact that you play with this egg shaped thing that you wrongly call a ball with your hands but call it 'FOOTball' even though you don't use your foot. So, to recap: Its not a ball because its not a sphere and there's no foot involved. It should be called 'Hand -Egg' !!!

  15. I'm not getting vexed, I'm simply getting frustrated how difficult it is explaining simple points to most of the guys (and gals) here and hense the sheer number of times I have to repeat the same thing, desperately hoping that this time someone may be able to read it, digest it and understand it.

    So....Frustration, NOT vexation.

I think for the 3rd time on this thread let me repeat what I said to the girl in question, and this time I'll put it in even easier to understand number form:

    1. She says the reason her parents give in opposition to the prospective marriage is the fact that they will lose respect in the community, i.e some people will look down on the family.
    2. I Told her her parents reasoning for their opposition is 100% WRONG. i.e there is no way they could justify their opposition on that reasoning.
    3. I told her how the traditional half of the community, of which I belong, already laugh at and look down on family's where fathers and brothers have no shame in the fact that their daughters and sisters blatantly keep boyfriends.
    4. Therefore, I told her her parents excuse is totally false, totally wrong.

Now, the thing you and many others here need to know is that a large chunk of we Sikh family's here in the west live by excellent morals and live by a certain way. In our way, our daughters and sisters do not carry on with lovers and boyfriends. Therefore, although you loathe to hear it, you do need to know that we do seriously look down on those Sikh families in the west where this kind of thing goes on. I'm not arguing with you about its merits or wrongs. I'm simply telling you a harsh truth that you need to know. The family's where this kind of thing goes on may see it as 'normal' but they do need to know how half of the community see them as a 'bad family' for it.

  16. cricket is huge in punjab im currently their right now and alot of ppl in my pind play it and were all watching india vs pakistan tht day. but your right alot of nri punjabis seem to like playing Hockey (which is crap) alot more then cricket for some reason. I sometimes play cricket at the park with ppl but only 1 was sikh rest were pakistanis. Sikhs should be supporting cricket more then ice hockey and soccer (football) because these sports have more of a connection to desi people and we can show other communities tht we will put our sports before theirs!

What do you mean "for some reason" ?

Can you not read ghettosikh ? Before you asked that question I told you the reason in the post before that. Did you not read how cricket was a totally alien sport to the mass of Sikhs in Punjab but was instead the sport of foreign Karach wallas' and Bombay wallas. Them foreign bombay wallas took over your land by trickery and deceipt and in the process imposed their foreign values on Punjab. One of those foreign values is the pathetic 'sport' of cricket. If anyone needs proof that their policy of total enslavement is now complete, they only need to look at your message.

  17. Thanks everyone for your positive and negatives comments

    Replying to @garch and @jagsawsingh:

I dont think i have committed anything wrong by chosing with whom i should spend rest of my life. This society wont come after those girls and save them who undergo domestic violence. We have to live our whole life with it no matter wat. And at that time some parents may say thats your fate.

I chose my partner may be you can call me shamless but i have given the right to my parents to decide. And i m here discussing this because i still wana have my parents marry me with him with their consent. My dad likes him n his family. He got no other issue other than caste. If there was some other reason than i would have agreed. But just caste isnt wat u luk for while chosing a groom. I have seen cases where even after having a baby kick their wife out of the house, make their wife just a slave. If this is wat we call our culture and for you is pride. Then i m i have right to live and chose.

And by the way if you r sikh i want to ask you why the heck we go to golden temple the bonge was made by ramgharias. Why you go to sikh temple and sit in sangat for langar without knowing the caste of the person sitting beside you. Next time you go to guru ghar make sure to check whether the person who made the langar was of ur caste or from lower caste.

    Thanks for your comments.

Why are you making out my message to you had anything whatsoever to do with 'ramgharias' 'jatt's or caste ?

My message was clear in that it was a lamentation of the times we live in. I'm not that much older than you but I could never imagine coming home and telling mum and dad about my lovely 'girlfriend'. I just find it sad and sorry to see so many posts on Sikh forums by Sikh women feeling no shame whatsoever telling the world, including complete strangers, about their lovers and relationships.

Clearly neither you nor some of the others here had enough intellect to understand the point behind what I said to you previously. I said to you your parents argument about "losing respect in the community" with regards the prospective marriage is a bit like slamming the barn door shut after the horse has bolted. The half of the community (of which I am a part) that will have negative judgements about your family already have those negative judgements. They, like me, already see your family in a bad light in that in yours, unlike mine, daughters and sisters shameslessly carry on with boyfriend relationships with members of the opposite sex.

Therefore, the reasoning behind your parent's opposition to the marriage is both pointless and wrong.

  18. disbanded last year? That's funny as they was 2000 Edl in Dudley two weeks ago protesting and that was in 2015, they're still going strong with splinter groups around, Sikh Edl page over 7000 members with daily posts.

umm. Interesting, in a sad way.

So basically, what you're saying is that they're like a bad rash, cockroaches or rats, in that they're filthy scum spoiling our environment and difficult to eradicate ?

  19. Sorry mr123, mistaken identity. Jagsaw I remember you were creating freindship with very people who hate us. You have an agenda, you should create freindship on a personal level and not drag us all in to it. E E EDL, EDL ZINDABATHD

    EDL Zindabad, Hammertime ??? :nono:

I'm sorry to have to be the one that breaks the bad news my friend but I'm afraid the EDL was disbanded last year. i.e. they no longer exist.

However, all is not in vain as I'm sure your last message is odds on to win top prize at this years annual 'Pointless Zindabad Shouts' of the Year Show.

  20. Just viewed that trailer or music video whatever it was. My first thought is that I've seen Greek women with bigger and longer beards than that sported by the 'Sikh' in the video.

My second thought is why, when this 'Sikh' in the video knew well in advance what he'd be shooting and when, did he not grow his beard accordingly for the shoot ? The beard on offer is so closely trimmed it is hardly a beard at all, more the kind of 5 o'clock shadow a lazy student from Portland might sport after not showring for the 3rd day running.

If, the Congress Party in Punjab wanted it banned because of the hideous and annoying actor in the video I will stand with the Congress. In fact, I will personally volunteer to punch the actor / singer really quite hard. In the face. A face almost as rosy cheeked and hairless as a baby's bottom.

  21. Thanks for the advice. I am not a turban wearing Sikh myself but I am going with an older uncle to the match and was more concerned with his safety then mine as I am a mona.

Its interesting about the man united singhs didnt know there were regular Sikh supporters.

I know its not the 80's anymore but you still get those hooligan fans out there.

btw Preston North end is my home town but I moved to London about 15 years ago. I still support PNE though though I have adopted the club of West Ham since moving south.

Brother you should have mentioned the 'West Ham' angle at the beginning. Leaving aside champoinship football which, to some extent, still has a tiny bit of a problem, the Premiership is per capita / population the richest sports league on earth. As planet earth's league it is a showcase league where any form of racism is not tolerated least of all because it damages the economic model. There may be, however, one exception to this rule and that exception is West Ham. Leaving aside the champoinship club of Milwall, West Ham still remains the club of choice of the 'white flight' racists that fled to Essex and Kent. Alot of what I'm saying here is my own opinion because I've never attended a match at Upton Park so perhaps some here who have can give a better insight as to how West Ham's reputation has changed. But, as you say you are a relative newcomer to London on the one hand I salute your loyalty to your east London manor...i.e West Ham. Tradition means a lot and I lament how our kids these days go with the fashion and don't understand tribal loyalties in football. For example, traditionally, from day one a century ago, most of Chelsea's fans lived in the London Borough of Hounslow especially Feltham and most of QPR's fans lived in the London Borough of Ealing, including Southall. My dad was born in Southall and he followed half of his mates in following QPR, which I did too. The other half followed Brentford. Now, you may at this point ask why Brentford's fan base was from the London Borough of ealing rather than the London Borough of Hounslow in which Brentfors exists ?

I know you're not asking but I'll tell anyway. It's because historically Brentford does not belong with Hounslow. It only got incorporated into Hounslow in the 1960's. Historically it belongs not with the hundred of Isleworth (in which Hounslow belongs) but belongs instead with the hundred of Norwood (green) in which Southall also belongs.

Now, you're probably wandering why I'm mentioning all this on a 'Sikh' forum and the answer is because it is relevant.

This is a tiny country we live in and yet this tiny country has somewhow managed to make the most watched, most richest, most powerfull sporting league on planet earth and the reason for this, despite our opposition in places such as Germany, Spain and Italy for example being better than us, is because of the authenticity and true tribal loyalty. Acts of Parliament (London Boroughs Acts) i.e government measures to invent loyalty have had no affect on football loyalty and that is what the world envies and respects. In the same regards we should remember how Punjab was NEVER, EVER part of India. Never. But only became so in 1947 because of the lies the and false promises the Indians fed us.

    D'ya still not see ?

    Let me spell it out:

The English language was seen as a vulgar laguage spoken by pendus. The Normans invaded from France. They came up with the Magna Carta which to this day remains as the cornerstone of the Laws of Canada, England, America and much of the world. They embraced the 'vulgar language of the pendu unpadhs: English' and they conducted an in-depth survey of the villages, towns and cities of England. In that survey, they put Brentford with Southall. To this day, only when it comes to football loyalty, Southall residents have remained true to the Doomesday Book, and to hell with everything else, and remained true per se. THIS is what has made the premier league the richest and most respected sporting league on earth. THIS same respect for ourselves in terms of who we are will gain us respect.

  22. This ain't the 1980's anymore. Dastars are a very common sight in stadiums all over the country. I've been to Highbury (sorry, the 'Emirates'), Stamford Bridge and St. Mary's and even as far north as Molyneaux (Wolves) and you meet alot of Sikhs in the grounds. Chelsea and QPR have always been the traditional strongholds of the massive west London communities of Hounslow and Southall respectively.
