See this is the extent of what Hindustan has done to the psyche of the sovereign Sikh. He (the Sikh) has reached the dizzy heights of becoming a moderator on a respected Sikh discussion forum. That shows he or she is a good person...otherwise he or she would not have been given that level of responsibility. But what it doesn't show is how educated or un-padh he or she is.
The word 'n****r' is the worst word possible. It signifies how the white man justified putting him and her in chains.....seperating him or her from family and land and taking him or her away to be whipped whilst he or she made western europe rich. But....there's something not as bad as that but equally as sad as it demonstrates how un-padh Sikhs have become despite being the sons and daughters of a man that was so well-read, educated and intellectually conscious he could teach the mighty persians about classical farsi vs arabic influenced farsi....and still be able to assume the position of moderator on this great forum.
If a moderator on this great Sikh forum can be so un-padh that he or she is not able to see how a poster has written something that is actually an antithises of racism then what are we to make of that moderator's ability to moderate on a forum of Sikhs (scholars) ?
If the top most Admin of this great Sikh forum cannot even recognise when his or her moderator has made such a stupid mistake despite being told so several times then what are we to make of Sikhi intellegtsia ?

And yet Sikhsangat.com want to devalue such a profound thing to the level of 'My Name is Jagsaw Singh and I have no Self-Respect' ?????????
What does that tell you about the state we are in?
What does that make you think about why, even though the Sikhs had awoken in the last few weeks, traitor nihungs and traitor damdami taksal have sold us out ?
What does it tell you about why we are the only major religion on earth without our own homeland ?
What does it tell you about why the Indians have us as their national joke as they feel we are not very intellectual ?
Think about these things. The nihungs and damdami taksal are relevant here because they are systematic of our inherent problem. Our inherent problem is that we....the people most enlightened about the 'self'....have complete and utter un-padhs in control of all our 'Sikh' institutions.

I think some pinds don't have nightwatchers. Last time I went to India, I never heard the whistles, or know of any pehredari in the pinds I stayed in. I remember there was when I was younger though.
My pend does. But then again a hellava lot of kap kanna goes on in my pend at night time. Mostly involving boys on heroin....girls who's husbands are working in the Gulf giving their mother in laws sleeping tablets so that they can call their 'paramours' over......and paramours jumping over walls whilst sleeping mother in laws sleep. The watchman's kept busy and you hear his whistle blowing all night. I'd like to see Badal's lackeys trying anything in our pend in the middle of the night without being seen. If the watchman doesn't see them the junkies certainly will.

Only time will tell if its a good thing just for them 4 personally or for all of us. Wasn't it Malcolm X who talked widely about how a select group of minorities (he was specifically talking about black people) are 'adopted' by the establishment and once they get adopted, they forget the rhetoric and issues that got them there and only say and do things that please the establishment they are now part of.

First time I seen the video. Jugraj Singh dislays all round strength and is a fantastic role model for my boys to aspire to: Strength of body.....Strength of mind through education......strength of mind through control....strength of character to stand up for his convictions.

Thats kinda what I'm getting at. There is definite collusion going on. For one or two men, acting alone, or the lone copycat, being out in a village in Punjab late at night and not being seen is very lucky if it happens the once. Very lucky. Even the walls have eyes there.
But to be able to be out in a village late at night again and again and again....all over Punjab...without ever being seen is downright impossible unless this whole thing is being organised on a high level....with night watchmen and perhaps even gurdwara gianis being part of the collusion.

'Colour' of course, is not important but phychologicaly it can have a tremendously positive impact on not only riddding Sikhi of the inherent un-sikh punjabyat culture but also getting inside the heads of the sikh masses in Punjab and making them realise that Waheguru is the Waheguru of all mankind...not just Punjabis, that Sikhi is for all the world....not just Punjabis.
Now, I'm sure you've gathered from my messages that I do have a mistrust of what I call 'career Sikhs' in general, i.e people that do Sikhi for a living, and in most cases have gotten rich on the back of it....and maybe sometimes this mistrust of mine can be misplaced. But, I do think there's alot to be said for a healthy dose of cynicism. For example, Ranjit Singh Dhardianwale; He can and does get himself arrested every 3 or 4 days and each time come out of the police cells looking as fresh as someone thats just spent a night in a 5 star health spa. However, if you, me or any other Sikh had to spend even one night in the custody of the Punjab Police we would come out of it covered in injuries. My point is that the people we think of as 'heroes' are not always as heroic as it seems. The real heroes are the ordinary Sikhs that genuinely risked life and blood to demonstrate and fight for our rights. We are showing way too much respect for people who, at the end of the day, do Sikhi as a living and have made a damn fine living from it at that. The cycle needs to be broken and thats why I feel the time is right to have a non-punjabi, maybe a western born, maybe even a gora Sikh at the helm.

The thing I don't understand is how easy it has been for these mysterious people to creep around in the village late at night. From my own personal experience....and I'm sure most of you too......it is virtually impossible to be anywhere outside your own walls in the village at night without someone knowing about it or seeing you. Every village has a night chonkidar that moves around blowing his whistle but even if he misses you there are always eyes that see you. Always ! But the fact that these people are consistently finding it so easy to move around at night without anyone ever seeing them makes me sure that it is something much more organised than just the odd individual or copycat.

its the difference between 'games' and 'gimmicks' jkvlondon.
I haven't looked in a dictionary to see the difference between them and we all know the 2 words are vastly different in meaning but the truth is we UK Sikhs have been demonstrating in our hundreds of thousands when it comes to the 'gimmicks' of politics whearas the Canadian Sikhs have bypassed the gimmicks and entered the 'game' in their hundreds rather than thousands.
'Gimmicks', in political terms are when politicians pretend to listen to what is said on the doorsteps of the electorate. Perhaps during mass demonstrations...perhhaps in the Sikh channel Studio....perhaps on the hustings during elections. These are all just gimmicks.
The 'game', however, is 'getting into the thick of it'. To be part of the game you have to join your local party. At your local party you make your concerns known. At the local party level the candidate has no choice but to listen to your concerns because your concerns have also rubbed off on the other local party members. At that point its all very local but the bigger picture of it is that the candidate who is also present in those local meetings, and is more than aware that the local members decide if he or she has a job or not, goes off to Westminster 5 days a week and has political power in one of the most powerfull nations on earth.
And so this is how democracy works. Little man in little local town joining his little local party membership has TREMENDOUS power in his hands. The day we understand that is the day we finally get our voices heard.

I have contacts in the Corbyn camp. Trust me, ideally he would like to purge the Labour Party of these closet tories / non-labour careerists. Unfortunately he can't do it unless YOU really want it. This is democracy. According to the Labour Party rules and regulations the ONLY way a sitting MP can be de-selected from being the candidate in the next election is if local members of the party make representations to the national executive committee in walworth road (hq of the labour party). In other words, you and me need to get all our family and friends to join the Labour party in Hounslow and Southall and together, collectively, tell them to inform walworth road that we are unhappy with the 2 current sitting MPs (Malhotra and Sharma).You see, this is why we Sikhs have such poor representation in Parliament. Collectively we don't know how to play the game whereas others do. No amount of lobbying...no amount of massive demonstrations...can get Malhotra and Sharma out. The one and only way....according to the rules and regulations....is if we join the local party en masse and ask the national executive committee to oust them.
On another thread here in the last couple of days it was stated how we....the Sikhs in the UK...are the most active. Active in the sense of being impotently active I would definately agree but the truth is that in Canada the one tenth of us that is active is actually active with potency because, unlike us, collectively they know how to play the political game. So much so that even a plumber that urinates in a cup can get selected.
We......the UK Sikhs.......take 100,000 on marches year after year without understanding that all it would really take is another 7 on the local party books to make a change.

If the article is genuine then I will say this : Bhai Rajoana's heart is most definately in the right place but his mind is clearly not able to see the bigger picture.
In previous messages I said "these parcharks on the poll are not what they seem, with the exception of rajoana". I praised rjoana of course because the context of my messages was that all the others on the list were actually what I call "Career Sikhs", i.e had amassed vast fortunes in the name of Sikhi. I now take back my assertion of putting rajoana on a too high pedestal and stand by my constant motion of maintaining that we need a jathedar that is a non-punjabi, preferably western born, may be white. One day......you'll all see my point.

When a thread starts and it has a title called "Sexual Grooming on the Rise", most of you are inclined to post on it without critically questioning the validity of the statement.
Me ? My natural instinct is to wonder how how now....2015....can be considered a time when sexual grooming is "on the rise" when we know that there has been an unprecedented crackdown on these groomers with thousands of them currently in jail and its been revealed that 20 -30 years ago this type of thing was so prevalent that high profile politicians and police officers used to groom kids, take them to secret London flats , rape them and then kill them before disposing of the bodies. The reports say this was all done on a massve scale in the past.
So just how do we come to the conclusion that NOW is the baddest period in terms of sexual grooming ?
There is a great deal of difference between 'thoughts' and 'facts'. The facts overwhelmingly point to this period we're in now to be the safest our sisters and young brothers have ever known it in society in terms of sexual grooming and predators.
You see, it is human nature to always see today's problem as really bad and look back on yesteryear with fondness.Whether it be about crime, employment, movies or sexual grooming. But in reality, it is rarely the case that things were better before and they've gotten worse now and getting worser still.
The harsh reality is that sexual grooming has always been there but thankfully we're finally living in a time when our authorities are, for the first time, tackling it. Therefore, the thread title of 'Sexual Grooming on the Rise" is factually incorrect.

So just because you have seen a few women not wearing Hijabs or going to nightclubs that Pakistan is not governed by Islam? Its an Islamic country. Maybe they dont follow all the laws. But they do on most accounts. The legal system where women are jailed for being raped. and countless other issues. but I guess because you saw that girl in a nightclub Pakistan is a secular country? and everything is rosy.
I haven't been to a nightclub anywhere ever....either here or Pakistan. I'm talking about facts rather than thoughts. Your thoughts are that people in Pakistan (being a Muslim country) are more religious than Pakistanis in England (a secular country). I'm telling you that the exact opposite is true in exactly the same way that Sikhs in England are generally more religious than Sikhs in our holy land of Punjab. Rather than criticise me why not see this as an opportunity to learn something and change your perception of things.

That's ok bro, but for others to read, I will say the Sarbat Khalsa will essentially still include the same common villagers that go vote in SGPC elections. What says they wont go show their support for Badal at a Sarbat Khalsa?
There was a message or two from me, which was not read by many, in which I articulated my experience of being in rural Punjab during 2 different elections. I told you guys how the decision of who to vote for ALWAYS boils downs to these 3 points:
- Which local candidate is promising a pakki shadk (paved road) to their fields
- Free bijli for the farmers
- Intimidation - i.e there is not actually any free will involved in elections in Punjab. In fact, election time in rural Punjab is traditionaly the most violent time when scores of people in each village die. Through intimidation and threats of violence, people are forced to vote for a particular party andd the election stations themselves are jam packed with violent supporters looking over your shoulder making sure you tick the box they want you to
The solution then, for we the Sikhs, is to use our collective sant-sipai strength. Firstly, with seva improve rural punjab by collectively helping each other and building paved roads. In fact, each of those paracharaks on the poll here live in giant rich houses and drive around in mega expensive jeeps so one of them alone could make a good start if his heart was truly in the right place. Secondly, use our collective diaspora education and strength to embark on a massive eco-friendly solar power programme for rural Punjab. And thirdly, most importantly, use our collective strength as warriors to stop the intimidation, protect the people from voting intimidation, and ensure everyone is allowed to vote using their own free will without anyone knowing or looking who they've voted for.
We, as a people, are getting the kind of leaders we have shown ourselves to deserve. Until we change, our leaders won't too. None of the men on the poll are any different to whats come before because each of them (except Rajoana) has accumulated vast wealth on the back of Sikhi.
We need a non-Punjabi, western Sikh.

Take for example Pakistan it is a muslim country every part of life is governed by Islam. So is it any wonder these people stick and practice their faith more then other secular countries.
Actually thats not how it is at all. I've been to Pakistan. Its not like Luton or Bradford etc. Its actually fairly rare to see teenage girls in a hijab and extremely rare to see middle aged ladies in one. In fact, the thing that strikes you most when you visit there is how all the women look exactly the same as they do in Indian Punjab. Its only when you notice alot of men with orange beards and the yamuka type hats that it feels very different. Also, another point to note, is how in the cities, especially Lahore, the girls are every bit as 'modern' and 'westernised' as the girls in Beverly Hills ; i.e revealing clothes, nightclubbing, drinking etc.
So what I'm trying to tell you is that the Pakistanis in Pakistan vs the Pakistanis in secuar countries such as England dichotomy is exactly the same as the situation regarding Sikhs in Punjab vs Sikhs in secular countries, i.e the ones in the secular counties actually know far more about their religion and practice it so much more, and so much better.
In conclusion then, the very premise of your thread is false.

I will try, because I do care for everyone, but in all honesty, I don't think any amount of prayer and ardas is going to bring your grammar / English comprehension / intellectual reasoning skills up to any acceptable level. When you start off at such a low level it really isn't reasonable to expect miracles.
But yeah, of course I'll do that for you brother. You're not an evil criminal etc, you too deserve the chance to be able to do some critical thinking.

All my extended family and friends drink a lot and use cocaine a lot.
See that ^ sentence is very telling. I mean its obviously not true because there is nobody on earth who's entire extended family drink alot and use cocaine alot. So the problem is really the way the OP is seeing the world. he's seeing it wrong. He's seeing it in such a way that he's not even noticing the existence of 90% of his entire 'extended family and friends' who don't drink alot and use cocaine alot. All he's seeing is the bad ones because there's a part of him that wants to go out with and be with them.
I went through something a bit similar when I stopped drinking. I'm not going to lie to you, I really really wanted to sit with my cousins an drink with them. At least thats what I thought I wanted. What really gave me motivation was when I sat down and analysed just how better I felt both physically and mentally without alcohol. How proud of me my parents and wife (didn't have kids at that point) were. Now, as I spend all my free time in the company of my family, I think of these times as so precious I can't even imagine spending it away from them, doing destructive things.
At the end of the day, I don't neccessarily think prayer and Gurdwara is going to be the anwser for you right now. Its not a one size fits all situation. Those things come naturally once you start living a disciplined life. Right now, I think the first step for you is to change the way you see. Start noticing the 90% of the people around you who are good.

Rather than constantly re-reading my posts vaddapappi, I would suggest your time would be better spent if you read things like dictionaries and books. Then, perhaps, you would have a better understanding of how and why I used in my sentence (the sentence you object to) words such as "pedantic" and expressions such as "could have" and "perhaps".
So you see, first of all I articulated how it is an unimportant and perhaps irrelevent point. Then I pointed out how some people who wanted to make such an unimportant point (be pedantic) might actually go ahead and do so. Then I went on to say that even if such a person made such an unimportant point they might actually 'perhaps' be wrong.
I think the main point to take away from this then is the importance of education.....being well-read.......being able to actually understand the English language.
But.....having told you what that first message (the one you objected to) was about I'm now going to go ahead and say something else:
Waheguru works in mysterious ways. Now think about it in this way: Paramjit, up until now, went about his life as a Sikh without giving too much thought into spiritual matters. You could say he took his 'sikhi' for granted. But, what happened that day at Nathan's has forced Paramjit to re-evaluate what it means to be a Sikh. It took something bad to happen for him to get involved in 'Sikh' issues. Now that, for the first time in his life, he's been forced to delve a little deeper into Sikhism it is possible that, for the first time, he may re-evaluate whether eating dead animals will help him on his spiritual journey.
Now, if you find that "condascending" than all I can say is that you bruise way too easily my friend.

Totally irrelevant post. Put into context with the facts of this thread that show there are 3 times more Sikhs than Hindus being arrested. According to the official Indian government statistics there are 3 times more Sikhs than Hindus being sent to Court. According to the official Indian government statistics there are 3 times more Sikhs than Hindus being tried by a Judge. According to the official Indian government statistics there are 3 times more Sikhs than Hindus being found guilty by a judge. According to the official Indian government statistics there are 3 times more Sikhs than Hindus being sent to prison by the judge.
Given the context, jkvlondon, I respectfuly say : Don't say anything that deflect from such damning and profound statistics.
