  1. Fateh

Friendly stranger - pls refer to Ang 556 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji... You will notice idolism is clearly banned.

Statue / Image depends on defintion

Coming back to my main points - seems no one has any views.

    Fateh . . .

There is nothing there about not making statues or other pieces of art. Don't distort bani.

  2. Sleep early(shut off your computer and put away your phone), eat healthy, work out, and most importantly, wake up early to do nitnem.

You're still young, just keep busy and stick to a routine. The lust will die down.

    Good luck brother.

  3. I used to eat a lot of junk food when I was struggling with kaam, I found it distracted me from my urges. I also understand that the same part of the brain is stimulated when eating pleasurable food as when engaging in any sort of sexual activity, which must be why gorging myself on gandhe khaane suppressed my libido. I think what's happening is that these saintly fatties are substituting one evil with another which they perceive as somehow secondary. But greed is also one of the panj chhor, and it doesn't limit itself to the human relationship with money.

I feel the opposite is true for me; junk food amplifies lust. Once I become lousy in one respect of life, I feel it's acceptable or it won't hurt if I become lousy in another respect. If I eat dirty, the rest of my life becomes dirty. Sinning, laziness, low standards, etc. are a slippery slope that ruins all aspects of your life. Once you clean up your act in one aspect, you'll feel obligated to maintain that standard throughout.

On a seperate note, theres a photo of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji walking just outside darbar sahib with an older muslim man, chubby, beard topi and shades... anyone know who he was?

    Can you post the picture?

  4. sure be healthy and if you can get martial training try but it is only part of the formula.

I can agree with your there sister. I never meant to imply that only the physical matters(nothing is more important than naam), but the so-called elite warriors of our nation should imo have higher standards for the physical than the average Sikh.

It is always good to be fit, but who says that the Nihang Singh ji is not trying..? I'm sure all chardikala Sikhs do try to stay fit physically as mentally do.

I'm sure he is trying, but I wasn't targeting him specifically. I was speaking generally.

  5. to earn farla he must have done immense sewa , to earn bana it takes a lot too ... don't go by outside deh ..remember when SInghs laughed on Kirpal Das Udasi because Dasmesh Pita ji had given agiya and thappi for Kirpal Das to do sewa in maidani Jang . The singhs could only see the round tummy and the basically nanga sareer , the simple club in his hand and said what can he do ? But My Pita ji saw the inside life and Kirpal Das went and did sewa for the panth.

Although that's a wonderful story, living as if we're all lucky enough to receive the kirpa that Kirpal Das received is a dangerous road to travel. Should we forget about being tyar bar tyar because we can potentially be blessed with miraculous fighting abilities if the time for battle comes?

  6. I'm talking about resources such as oil, tin, rubber....stuff the Whites created. When the Sikh empire extended up to Kabul, did they never loot anything? No? How did the Koo Hi Noor end up in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's possession? Did the Hindu Rajas and Muslim Sultans who frequently invaded each others territories not loot from each other? They were such perfect angels?

Invading and looting each other was the standard back in the day. Every power did that. If you want to judge the British, you must judge based on the standards practiced by all powers back in the day and not today's standards.

This is what I mean by crazy, delusional, one track mind set. Unable to rationalize. Unable to have a balanced view of the world.

Although I agree with what you're saying here, Kohinoor wasn't acquired through looting, it was gifted to Maharaja Ranjit Singh by Shah Shuja Durrani.

  7. What is the Arth of Christ which applies to Paramatma ji then?

I wasn't referring to Christ the man, I was simply saying that the word Christ and any other is not prohibited. However, I suppose you can relate Christ the man to God if you consider him a Sant.

Can you please provide me with links to the tenants you say were written in the Dead Sea scrolls. Thanks

I believe she's talking about the Gospel of Thomas.

  8. Those are precisely the sorts of images I am talking about. Those aren't keskis, they are very large topknots towards the back of the head.

When Sardar Baghel Singh marched into Delhi, the Mughal Shah Alam II came out to welcome him with his begams. A group of ten Singhniaan were invited to the begam's quarters, where these Sikh women fascinated the Shah's wives and courtesans with their talk of warfare, plunder and how to shoot missile weapons. Five of them were dressed like Nihang Singhs, the others wore dresses, heavy ornaments, heavy lower garments and top knots a hand-span-and-a-half in height. This description exactly fits those images you have provided. I find it strange that Bhai Manvir Singh resorts to those images in order to further his mistaken beliefs, especially since the woman on the left is clearly shown to be wearing many sets of golden bangles (Bhai Manvir Singh and most AKJ oppose the wearing of jewellry).

I stand corrected. Thanks for the truth brother.

  9. Nobody is casting aspersions on the sincerity of these Bibiaans' faith. But there is no historical basis for your claim that the keski/dastaar was enjoined upon all Sikh women in the old days. The situation today is how it has always been - some women choose to wear a dastaar, but most don't. Do you have any sources corroborating your other claim about Gurmukh Singh Musafir?

None of the portrayals and accounts of the Sikhs before the 1920s represent Sikh women as mostly wearing turbans, the notable exceptions being female members of the Nihang order (and Mai Bhago, who was conspicuous by her manner of dress). The most common way in which bibiaan wore their kes was in a high top-knot towards the back of their heads, beneath a chunni.

These gorified folks you allude to are also precisely the people (Lahore Singh Sabha) whose movement helped give rise to groups like Bhai Randhir Singh's.

  10. The land and the entire world belongs to Vaheguru not white people. Secondly WASPs took away the freedom of my country and people in 1849. In 1947 they had a chance to make right what they did wrong by restoring our sovereignty which they took from us but the only choice they gave us was to become ghulams of the Hindus or the Muslims. My people have served WASPs with their blood as soldiers for 100 years. From my Nanke and Dadke side of family I come from a long line of soldiers who fought in wars for the WASPs including the two WWs. So I don't understand how you think I owe them anything. If anything they owe me and my people. And until a Sikh state is re established I will live where ever Vaheguru wills it.

Lastly, not all white people are WASPs. I even made it clear that by WASP I only mean the rich ruling class elite who carry out these wars are not the average middle working English people

No one owes us anything, especially not the white folk of today that had no say in the British imperialism of 150 years ago.

  11. I don't know if anything matters, but searching for a higher meaning(as a Sikh) is the best effort I can make. The alternative and pessimistic option is nihilism and that view of the universe is unjustifiably adamant in saying that there is no purpose. The way I see it, the living man/woman only has the option to search, and if you don't, you might as well consider yourself dead.

    ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੇ ਮੁਏ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥

Those who forget the Naam are already dead, and they continue dying.

  12. I dislike the comparison of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Jesus when we say our Gurus Sahib's were God. Jesus made people worship in his name; while Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji made people worship in the name Vaheguru, (though jaapong Dhan Guru Nanak by itself can be beneficial), we are not the same!

This is from the bible, Romans 10:10-18:

“the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Not trying to say that Jesus is equal to Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji, but Christianity has some great things to say. The only thing that saddens me is that they still think all non-Christians are going to hell.
