  1. There is nothing there about not making statues or other pieces of art. Don't distort bani.
  2. Where's the proof of this statue building being clearly banned?
  3. First off we shouldn't be sleeping around, and second, we want good women. I'm reluctant to call a woman who lives for Muhammad good.
  4. Wall street will be fine. UK will be fine. Brits willing to go through temporary financial trouble for more sovereignty is a beautiful thing we Sikhs can learn from, and the EU should collapse.
  5. Congratulations to Britain. Hopefully we Sikhs can take something from the attitude of the Brits who voted to leave.
  6. Sleep early(shut off your computer and put away your phone), eat healthy, work out, and most importantly, wake up early to do nitnem. You're still young, just keep busy and stick to a routine. The lust will die down. Good luck brother.
  7. I feel the opposite is true for me; junk food amplifies lust. Once I become lousy in one respect of life, I feel it's acceptable or it won't hurt if I become lousy in another respect. If I eat dirty, the rest of my life becomes dirty. Sinning, laziness, low standards, etc. are a slippery slope that ruins all aspects of your life. Once you clean up your act in one aspect, you'll feel obligated to maintain that standard throughout. Can you post the picture?
  8. I can agree with your there sister. I never meant to imply that only the physical matters(nothing is more important than naam), but the so-called elite warriors of our nation should imo have higher standards for the physical than the average Sikh. I'm sure he is trying, but I wasn't targeting him specifically. I was speaking generally.
  9. Although that's a wonderful story, living as if we're all lucky enough to receive the kirpa that Kirpal Das received is a dangerous road to travel. Should we forget about being tyar bar tyar because we can potentially be blessed with miraculous fighting abilities if the time for battle comes?
  10. Sure, there's no point in competing if it creates unhealthy attachments to our status and ego. However, I don't completely agree that we should just sit back, relax, and "enjoy" life. "Those who are lowest of the low class, the very lowest of the low; Nanak seeks the company of those. Why should he try to compete with the great? In that place where the lowly are cared for-there, the Blessings of Your Glance of Grace rain down. ||4||3||" -Ang 15 Let's not forget our purpose. We don't shut down and cruise through life after we realize the futility of competing with the great; we get to work.
  11. This is somewhat irrelevant, and I don't intend to insult such a beautifully devoted Sikh, but what does it take to become a Nihung nowadays? Why do I see so many overweight Sikhs representing the "elite" warriors of our nation?
  12. It's not letting pleasure corrupt you and not letting pain break you. It's having the strength and will to stay God-facing and stable through all conditions.
  13. Although I agree with what you're saying here, Kohinoor wasn't acquired through looting, it was gifted to Maharaja Ranjit Singh by Shah Shuja Durrani.
  14. I don't know if there is, but why does it matter? Is this an attempt to compete with Muslims or other religions that try to prove themselves with science?
  15. I wasn't referring to Christ the man, I was simply saying that the word Christ and any other is not prohibited. However, I suppose you can relate Christ the man to God if you consider him a Sant. I believe she's talking about the Gospel of Thomas. http://gnosis.org/naghamm/gosthom.html
  16. We could as long as we don't attach the name of "Christ" to a Semitic man that lived 2000 years ago. Same goes for Ram, Hari, etc.
  17. If anyone should be kissing others feet, it should be the so called refugees.
  18. Typical leftist reaction. They pretend to love democracy, but they can't live with the results if it doesn't suit them. They're some of the biggest freedom hating people out there. Show's how much they really care about their country too if they'll discard it so easily.
  19. Check this video and start at 1:15:57: https://youtu.be/Jy8Qee7v7a8?t=1h15m57s
  20. No one owes us anything, especially not the white folk of today that had no say in the British imperialism of 150 years ago.
  21. I don't know if anything matters, but searching for a higher meaning(as a Sikh) is the best effort I can make. The alternative and pessimistic option is nihilism and that view of the universe is unjustifiably adamant in saying that there is no purpose. The way I see it, the living man/woman only has the option to search, and if you don't, you might as well consider yourself dead. ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੇ ਮੁਏ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ Those who forget the Naam are already dead, and they continue dying.
  22. This is from the bible, Romans 10:10-18: “the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Not trying to say that Jesus is equal to Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji, but Christianity has some great things to say. The only thing that saddens me is that they still think all non-Christians are going to hell.
