  2. vaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaa vaaheguroojeekeefatheh!!! veerjee, there are many great camps around the world ---- for example in BC there is west coast sikh youth alliance's annual sikh youth camp (http://www.wcsya.org), as well as sikh vision's annual camp (http://www.sikhvision.com) in toronto there is the sikh youth retreat, in uk and california there's khalsa camp (http://www.khalsacamp.com/uk/) and sikh camp in maryland (http://www.sikhlink.net/camp.htm), sikh camp in houston (http://www.sikhcamp.org).. all of these have some great ideas. i would suggestion some of the following - these are things i wish i had done because i am really lacking in these fields: 1) proper and full santhiya of how much bani you can cover in 2 weeks - perhaps all of chaupai sahib and tua prasad swaiye santhiya + gurbani meanings + discussion 2) a 2-week course on Sikhi Public Relations; how to research Sikhi, how to do Sikhi presentations, English katha (www.gurmatstudies.com), etc. 3) a full course for Singhs and Kaurs on the glory and legend of Sikh Women and their influence and importance in past, present and future Sikh society 4) A daily workshop for older youth about Guru Sahib's time, the time of Khalsa raaj, the invasion by British, the present state of Slavery, and the upcoming future Khalsa Raaj and getting ready for it 5) The importance of staying away from vikaars... kaam... addiction to MSN... drugs.. alcohol... racism... things that still plague me... that's all i can think of right now.... please forgive my mistakes Vaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaa Vaaheguroojeeke efathehhhh!!!!!

  6. thank you sangat jee for your help with this website. i have made some of the changes you suggested. could you please view the site again and tell me what else we can do? we have been visited by many people, but the orders are not coming. :T: what could be the problem? the website is http://www.creativegiftsolutions.org
  7. this is the most ridiculous thing... giving him the siropa - the sentiments behind that can be understood regardless of your personal belief on the over-use of siropas for foreign dignitaries i think recognizing him was important and good but calling him an honourable sikh? being a sikh is not like membership in some high school club what kind of joke have people made of this? this is an insult to baba buddhaa jee, who served the panth for more than 100 years and still considered himself not worthy of the title of a gursikh and yet he was the epitome of sikhi - the highest point a sikh can reach so much nimarta was in the sikhs of the past, and so much pyar and value for sikhi and it's honour and we keep trying to bring it's name down to our low levels

  17. well actually my desire to move to calgary has nothing to do with vancouver really it's just a selfish interest i love the martindale gurdwara and the sangat there that's all haha.. but for the record: in my humble opinion, Vancouver is the best physical place for a Gursikh to live in the world. of course realistically the true Gursikhs live in the sehaj-ghar begampura sachkhand of Guru Nanak, that's their home, wherever they are physically.
  18. i love vancouver... vancouver is one of the best places to live in the world... the sangat in calgary and toronto are amazing though.. but so is the sangat in vancouver.. right now though i'm tempted to move to calgary.. a lot quieter than vancouver and there's no provincial sales tax ... hehe...

  22. I don't think the Singh fought for the money I think he probably fought for the principle of the matter It's Khalsa Raj - how dare some petty theif try to come and steal from a store where a Sikh works?
  23. vaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaa vaaheguroojeekeefatheh!!! thank you veerjee i have tried to implement the changes you suggested whereas the whole page was red, now only the top banner is red whereas the newsletter form required you to fill in five fields, now it is three fields and whereas the confirmation said "IF" now it says "WHEN" i would really appreciate your further guidance and the guidance of the sangat on more ways to improve the site stay in chardeekalaa, vaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaa vaaheguroojeekeefatheh!!!
  24. guru sahib has said "saadhhsa(ng)gath kee bheer jo paaee" "bheer" means like a big rush, a whole lot of people but that does not mean quantity it is a wonder of the saadh sangat that the better the quality, the higher it seems they are in quantity by comparison every sikh is sava lakh no wonder guru sahib has used the word "bheer" for the saadh sangat imagine how much energy just a group of gursikhs with pure hearts have when they sit for saadh sangat...
