Thank you for the suggestions. I also was considering Khushwant Singh Ji but was a little doubtful about him due to his pro Indian activities ( may he Rest in Peace though). Are there any other tittles or authors out there.

Does anyone know any good tittles? I'm trying to learn more about Sikh History, Arts ( Gurmat Sangeet and Calligraphy etc) and Literature. I would prefer if it was written in English. Also Im interested in old paintings so if there is book full of them please let me know. Thanks Gur Fateh Ji.

It was Thukar Dalip Singh who said that. He's okay. I saw one of his videos where he was talking negativity about Muslims but was caling the Hindu Gods our( as in SIkhs) gods too ,but I like how he wants to Unite the Sikh Panth Again and how he is working to gain that goal. I also like how people are realizing that Namdharis are not bad people. I especially like how common you can find them doing kirtan in Gurdwaras which is good beacuse they do kirtan in raag and its kind of like a revival of Gurmat Sangeet.

Can someone list a kirtani(s) who do kirtan in raag. I know the famous ones like bhai balbir singh ji and bhai avtar singh ji. Actually I need something that I can practice my tabla to ( so someone who doesnt speed their rhythm in their kirtan).

So I'll be going to Surrey soon and want to buy a tabla case and may be a Dhamma Skin. I already called up Bawa Musics and they don't sell cases them selfs ( you have to buy a tabla to get a case) . Can anyone Please tell me where I can get a tabla case and possible a dhamma skin in Surrey?

I'm so happy Bhai Balbir Singh's Lifetime Punishment is gone but I don't know if we should agree to this hukam becuase its Giani Gurbachan Singh's ( and he isn't the Akal Takht Jathedar Any more). I just know that Bhai Balbir Singh might be coming back after a long time.

Yaa I hope too but its been a long time now so I think he might have stopped becuase of healith issues ( thats what my ustad ji said lol) But I want to know if his son does kirtan now if Bhai Balbir Singh Stopped. I also know that Bhai Nirmal Singh Batala ( the guy who used to sit behind with a swarmadel) does kirtan Independently now but I don't if he is his son or not.

I was listening to Bhai Balbir Singh's kirtan and started to think, what happened to him. I know that he stopped cause he bowed down to Ashutosh and got banned but he kinda still is a important person in the Sikh Panth because of the kirtan he did (Raag) and the amount he did( close to 70-80 years). Also if he has stopped doing kirtan, is the tradition of his family doing kirtan still being carried on by Bhai Balbir Singh's son(s).

For a long time I been wanting to do kirtan. I really like and listen to a lot of Raag kirtan. I also like purtan reets from the 1980s or older( reets like the ones Bhai Jaswant Singh Hazzori Ragi Sings) becuase its easy to sing and has some raag involved. I looked around the internet and everything I saw of Raag was very hard for me( I don't know too much harmonium). Also all the reets I found, are the filmy tune ones that I'm not a big fan of. So I'm just asking if anyone knows any books or any other resources for easy Raag shabads and notations. Thanks WJKK WJKF

Yaa the shabad is being performed in Raag Basant. Most modern Ragis read this shabad becuase: A) The shabad is short B) Becuase the shabad is short, ragis can sing it and get over with the Basant Raag stuff and start singing flimy tunes. NOTE: I am not saying Bhai Inderjeet Singh is one of those Flimy tune wale Ragis. I like his kirtan because a lot of his kirtan, he does is in Raag. And Can you put the link of where you the Gurmat Sangeet Sagar books, I can't find it on the website. I also really like Raag Kirtan.
