  1. my questions are

like we sikhs have anand karaj,

the question are: which guru created the anand karaj?

and how did guru nanak dev ji have his wedding conducted, as there was no Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj...

    thanks

    bhul chuk maaf. :)

Maharaj wrote Ik Oankaar or moolmantar (cnt remember which one im sure some1 more knowledgeable can tell u) on a piece of paper and did lava around this :)

  2. They most commonly open their gate 3 times a day although it can be twice, they normally open the kundi once at amritvela here if you're really lucky u may be able to see their sevaks massaging baba jis legs for them. Then they normally open at 11/12ish and then in the afternoon aroun 4/5 ish... best to turn up early as there's normally a queue and in order to not miss their darshan basically...

    Hope that helps

  3. Dont be silly^ De Montfort Uni is wayyyyy better :p

And i knew someone that went Brunel a few years ago, apparently not good sikh society which is suprising

Hey what's wrong with Leicester uni?

  4. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ke fatehh

First of all, thank you peni for considering bana, it's unfortunate that many bibia do not wear it. Secondly to "Against" there are recorded accounts of Singhnia dressing 'like Singhs' in the 1700s. Wearing of a punjabi suit is highly NOT tyaar bar tyaar lol try running in a patiala salwaar up the stairs :)... Secondly when one wears a bana, one MUST and I stress MUST have the jeevan to match. There is no use of wearing a bana and not having bani or rehit etc. Bana for singhnia requires just as much kamaee as it does for Singhs. I know of Singhnia that will only wear bana if they do sundar gutka, or until they have atleast sundar gutka kant!

Bana is supposed to be simple and modest, and it is both those things compared to salvaar kameez which are tightly fitted, sometimes lacking simplicity and modesty, and most importantly are not very tyaar bar tyaar.

Sorry if I have offended anyone.

  5. its baba ajit singh ji nathmalpurwale, they did sachkhand gaman in late 70's i think, not sure tho.

and they are differnt from baba ajit singh ji hansali. giani ji mentions both in katha.

baba ajit singh ji nathmalpurwale were a "gurmukh brahmgiani", which is the 7th stage of brahmgian, ("satvi bhoomika de brahmgiani" is how they say it in punjabi)

this highest stage possible for manukha dehi, as the 8th stage is where maharaj is. but manukh's cant reach 8th stage while living in manukha dehi.

baba ji used to always call people as "dheen diyaal ji" or "rab ji"

this one time sant gurbachan singh ji, along with the jatha singhs, went to go meet baba ji, and baba ji was feeding or doing ishnaan i think, of the dangars (cow/buffalo), and the sevadaar told them that sant ji was here to meet them, and baba ji put down the sangal of the dangar, and grabbed a basket that had parshade in it and started giving them to the jatha. baba ji didnt wash their hands tho, they first gave 2 parshade to sant gurbachan singh ji, and sant ji knew that baba ji was pooran brahmgiani, so they didnt say anything, and just ate the parshade. but when baba ji went to give parshade to the jatha singhs, the singhs were like, "nahi ji, this is not the right maryada" and stuff like that. cuz the singhs were always tought about keeping strict sucham by sant gurbachan singh ji. but then sant ji told them to not do shanka and just take the parshade. so then each singh was given 2 parshade. and after eating the parshade, the singhs went into this vismaad anand state, as the taste of the parshade was of nothing they had ever tasted before. then the singhs asked sant gurbachan singh ji as to why they went into that vismaad state, and sant ji explained that baba ji is a pooran brahmgiani, and that anything they touch, they turn into pavitar, no matter if they wash their hands or not.

this one other time, i think giani ji went with sant kartar singh ji, or maybe sant jarnail singh ji, to meet baba ajit singh ji. and the singhs of the jatha asked baba ji, to give the definition of a gurmukh and a manmukh. and these are the bachans of a pooran brahmgiani:

"bhai jis de mukh vich hamesha guru guru eh, oh gurmukh, tey jis de mukh vich kush hor, oh manmukh". nice and simple.

meaning that whoever is always doing simran, and has waheguru on their tongue, thats a gurmukh, and whoever has something else on their tongue, thats a manmukh.

alot of times, people would go to meet baba ji, and they would be walking in the fields while people would come up to them and ask them "we wanted mahapurshan de darshan, do you know where we can meet them" and such nimarta of baba, they would always answers back, "pata nahi bhai, ehthey kithe hunne ne" meaning, "idk he must be here somewhere" baba ji would act like he is not a mahapursh. then after waiting for some time, the people would ask the sevadaars about where baba ji is, and the sevadaars would tell them that the person who they saw walking in the fields, who they first talked to, that is baba ji himself.

and i dont think they have a biography, but if u go to punjab, u can ask around tho.

Yes paaji we are talking about the same person but I'm quite sure their pind is nathalpur... as sum relatives from my dads side were close sevaks of theirs.. will chek though

Yes Sant Baba Ajit Singh ji from hansali are different

  6. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ke fatehh

To the posters that regard the rejection of make up and jewellery as "narrow/close mindedness" its a benti in your charan please understand that if maharaj told their own mehal their own wife tht wearing of make up and jewellery for a sikh if incorrect then one MUST adhere to these instructions. Can we see Mata Ganga ji the essence of humility and such a sat-bachani sikh of Guru sahib wearing make up and denying Guru sahibs hukam?

Is Bhai Deya Singh ji wrong, the first panj pyaara to stand up and merge thier "self" into mahraj's self, to say that one that wears make up and jewellery is sinful?

    suramaadhik shi(n)gaar nehi(n) nehi(n) par tharunee sa(n)gi

Do not wear make-up or jewellery. Do not commit adultery.

    Rehatnama Bhai Daya Singh Jee

Penji if you feel like you want to discuss this, you are free to PM me. We can not look at other people and say that so and so does this, let's look at those shining examples in sikhi that stood out with their prem, sharda and bani, look at brahmgyani Mata Bhaag Kaur ji who had not a care in the world even for clothes let alone this facades.

Following one's man makes one a manmukh, and rejecting maharaj makes one a vemukhl and by doing either one shallnot merge into the Lord as their is still a wall of separation i..e ego in between.

True marriage is the mergence of the soul with the Lord... :)

Discarding worldly adornments, she meets her Husband Lord, and she celebrates joyfully with Him. She is adorned forever with the Name in her mind, and she does not have even an iota of filth.

  7. " Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! "

    I want to know that:

    1) Are Amritdhari women aloud to wear bridal bangle's (Churah)?

    2) Is an Amritdhari women aloud to wear a langha, saree, etc... on their wedding day?

    3) What type of jewelry are they aloud to wear?

That's all I want to know for the time being, but I'll contact you all for more topics that I am confused about.

" Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! "

    1) No.. definitely not... read Baavan Akhree in which Guru Arjan Dev ji wrote for their mehal Mata Ganga ji that one should only wear necklaces around one's neckmade from only the Lord's name and that eyeliner on one's eyes should only be that of giaan (knowledge), maharaj wrote Baavan Akhree after theyr mehal asked them why it was wrong to wear jewellery and make up.

    2) No.. you should wear a suit or bana, preferably the 2nd.

    3) You should not wear jewellery in the sense of necklaces and earrings etc. but wear the haar shingaar of a sikh, 5 kakkar, dastaar, the lord's name etc.

Hope that helps, when you have taken amrit you have taken a vow to represent Guru Gobind Singh ji maharaj, please don't do beadbi of the image that maharaj has blessed you with.

  8. why are girls so excited to get married , like i mean about their wedding day and all the events? i dont get it, i guess everyone around me ( old friends, hs peers etcc, cousins) are mostly getting married, but i dont get whats so exciting?

like they seem really happy about it,am i missing something?

is this just for girls or guys as well? do guys also get excited?

sometimes i think it may be because these ppl are punjabis so they will do like a desi type of wedding with like a decked out sari or lengha etc etc and like a big sparkly dress etc for their reception and all those other parties that come along with it...maybe theyre excited for the parties because some ppl like parties..

idk is it normal for a sikh not to be excited about their wedding or like getting married in the future? i dont get whats so fun?

or maybe its the idea of being with someone you love, but you also love your parents too so i dont get it:S isnt that bitter sweet? leaving your parents? so why would it be exciting? ( for girls i mean - even guys i guess if theyre moving to another country where their rents wont be etc or w/e the situation)

i know stupid question but this is really like making me curious because im wondering if this neutral feeling is normal?

do other singhs/ singhnees feel neutral/dont care about their wedding day too?

meh lol im getting a headachelol

i wrote this in the gupt section so plz respond

    wjkk wjkf

Wow u too, i just don't get why girls wanna get married in the first place.. leave ur whole world to live with sum guy u dnt even no? lol i can't see it as bitter sweet just "bitter" lol

  9. Person number three hates kurta/chola/salwar

Not true. I'm amritdhaaree, and I hate Punjabi suits. Choley are actually very comfortable, but I HATE Punjabi suits. The salwaars get so annoying, like you're wearing snowpants because they're huge like snowpants and because they're just as difficult to put on and take off. And the long shirts aren't a walk in the park either. And dubataas are just plain weird and very useless. Really, Punjabi suits are such a pain.

Choley = "Kewl", "Boss", Hip, and Phat ..je je!

The rest of KEERPA's post, pretty agreeable.

    WOW me 2 :L:
