  1. I actually used to wear one normal kara and one mala kara but I stopped wearing the mala one cos its impossible to wash! Kirpan is not much of a problem however I do think dastaar might be problem in theatre. I wear a keski so the blue caps fit over the top. I spoke to a locum doctor and he said most of the singhs just remove their dastaar and keep their underneath keski and go into theatre.....but with me I don't see the point of wearing a dastaar cos u go to all that time and effort to tie and then u only end up wearing keski. I might wear dastaar next year and see what its like but so far only wearing keski...maybe if they had bigger blue caps you wouldn't have to remove dastaar!

Penji uno in theare do u HAVE to wear the cap things, cos arent we supposed to not wear caps? Cant they jus allow dastaar I dno im lil confused :@

Honestly the main reason why i ended it was because of the guilt that i felt - how could i do something like this to my parents?

At that time it did not matter to me wheather he was amrit thari or not, and now i know better. it is not my place to decide who i should be with cuz like Guru Ji says, our life partner predestined. The second time i went out with him i thought it would be exactly the same as before, but in the months that we spent apart we both changed alot. I got into Sikhi more and he drifted away from it. kaur_khalistani_lioness i did take your advice, and i have talked to him in person, it was the only way i could truly understand how i felt. there is still some emotional attachment and i have realized that with time and Guru Jis kirpa everything will be fine. stressing out is not going to help me in any way, and yes i truly do want to forget about him but i know it is going to take time. I will keep doing my simran and stick to the more important things in my life.

V - "There is absolutely no point in retaking amrit. Amrit is not a joke or a game where you make a mistake and you go and retake it." very good point.

Sikh Soldier - "...i wud suggest that u go Pesh and tell them everythign that has happened."

i would have to explain to my parents why i want to...should i tell them wut happend?

cuz if i am willing to go Pesh i should be willing to tell my parents first don't you think?

or should i do this by myself and not tell my parents?

Arnt you only suppose go Pesh if you have commited a Bujjar Kurat tho?

i do not want to lie to my parents but i do not want to dissapoint them either.

what should i do Sangat Ji? :)

Penji to have any sort of relationship outside of marriage is a Bujjar Kurehit, I agree with Tarrandeep Penji, it isn't just for "sexual" relationships. :@

  3. Oh wicked. Whos going?

Okay, serious note, what concerns me is the below :

things that upset me.. in a RAMGARHIA HAL...

Is this Ramgharia Gurdwara hall or is it named Ramgharia Hall? Clarification anyone?

Other than that, Sikhs dont own Vaisakhi. We dont own any particular day in history to claim it. And as someone already said, Vaisakhi was around long before Guru Gobind Singh Jee chose to create the Khalsa on that day. So dont worry about what others are doing. Concentrate on yourselves and what you will be doing that day.

The gurughar DEFINITELY owns the hall... :D

  4. Hello veeray

Not getting married just because you had a bad experience from you bhabhi is not right. In fact, now you should make sure that whichever girl you intend to marry, or, whichever girl intends to marry you, better tell her that she should not, even in her dreams, imagine that you will live separate from your parents. And I think you should work out some way to bring your parents to UK to live with you. Its good that they are keen to visit the Gurdwaara, which I assure you they won't miss in UK either. Just be sure you marry a girl from a decent family who is respectful of elders.

Thanks to Ekta Kapoor (for making all those saas bahu serials), the real life of the average saas and bahu has become more complicated than it was before. The future mother-in-laws who watch that trash on TV start thinking of ways how to make sure that their bahu won't make their life hell, and vice versa. These Indian soap operas are the root of most of the chaos that has erupted in Indian families in recent years. I don't think there was much of an issue until the last decade, but after all these saas bahu soaps emerged on the Indian TV horizon, bang we had all these weird things happening.

Paaji have you thought about how she feels about leaving her parents.. I'm sure you don't want to... but she may not either

To Original Poster... you make it suond like "the Path of the Gurdwara" is a last resort of some sort

  5. Anyone know where i can get a sarangi, either online or in a shop(Leeds/Bradford) for roughly £90-£130? I don't mind it to be a mini one either??? :g

Erm don't know about there but there is one for sale in Leicester in Guru Tegh Bahadar Gurdwara sikh missionary shop (in the gurughar) for about £90/100, shops open on sundays around 10am -2pm and on all gurparabs i think

  6. O yeah, other than that:

I do my Nitnem according to SGPC

I read Dasam Granth (including charitropakhyan)

I wear black dumalla with pink hazoori and yellow kashera

    I wear small 3cm non-sarabloh kirpan + kara

I dont eat frm sarabloh utensils

I dont bathe in cold water at 2am

    How antigurmat am i?!

    How is tht wrong?

and about what you said b4 paaji r u joking? ohmy.gif If not then I think paaji u shud think about how doing all of this is portraying you in the eyes of young sikhs or any1 starting off on the path of sikhi tht maybe looks up to you as a chardi kalaan singh hu wears bana, and sum1 hu maybe is a role model
