This will be the first UK Government funded sate school. The construction project ismanaged byRok PLC (www.rokgroup.com) and is on target and within budget. We have over 150 pupils already registered for the school and are confident that the school will be completely full with 450 pupils within 2 years. The project is 90% funded by the Government and the community has to raise £950,000. To date the community has donated £450,000 and the trustees have arranged commercial loans for £350,000 through personal guarantees. Interest free loans of £50,000 have also been provided by the Sikh community. We are now asking the community to provide the shortfall of £100,000 that we need to complete the project. Upcoming sikh youth programmes in West Yorkshire Vaheguru ji ka khalsa, Vaheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, after the nagar keertan at vaisakhi, there will a series of Shabad Guru divans on Sundays in Punjabi and English for sikh youth in the Yorkshire area. Saturday 14th April – Bradford nagar keertan Sunday 15th April – A divan by youth in Punjabi and English, including keertan and lectures. Topic will be Amrit. It will be from 10.20 am to 1pm at Singh Sabha Gurdwara Grant Street, Bradford. Sunday 22nd April – A divan will be held creating awareness about specific dangers that sikh youth may face in colleges and universities. It will be from 10.20 am to 1pm at Singh Sabha Gurdwara Grant Street, Bradford. Sunday 29th April – A divan by sikh youth in Punjabi and English, including keertan and lectures. The topic will be how Prataan Gursikhs did seva at the times of the Guru Sahibaans, with particular reference to Bhai Manjh ji.
