You must be joking, nah definetly joking. I can't take what you're saying seriously. You have literally just said the same thing you said in your previous post.

"u kearli karnt undastand wo i be writin"

I'll give this a shot : Owz dat Sokhwinda lad pruuved deze tingz he sayin ?

(Can't actually stop laughing right now.)

  2. Well dun 2sikh ch. 4 Xpozing the Truth B-hind deez derarz. Wethr 1 manz iz rite or rong wil cum out soon enuff

    What?. Two questions,

    1. Why do you make it hard for us to understand what you're saying and

    2. Exagtly what truth has been exposed?

From what I have gathered some accusations have been put onto Sant Ranjit Singh from the person Sukhwinder Singh. They havn't been proved, just because a bunch of old men talk on a chat show it doesn't mean it's exposing any Truthz B-hind deez deraz.

I'm not trying to stick up for anyone here, nor do I know Sant Ranjit Singh, Bhai Ranjit Singh or whatever you may want to call him. However, i'm sick of this nonsense about proving him wrong. Saying the the sky is purple won't make it purple, you might make a few people think so but when they see it themselves it'll become clear and blue.

  3. Guru Pyaareho, I have recieved a great e-mail from a developer. I will just paste it here, it explains that they are already aware of this and doing their best to sort this out :

    Surinder

    "WJKK,

    WJKF!!

This is a possibility of mistakes, as I have taken files from

Internet and created a DB by parsing them. I know, at many places in

Bani other than SGGS, there are inaccuracies, which were brought to my

notice time and again from Sangat which I have corrected after doing a

due diligence ( unfortunately there is no authentic copy against

which I can verify other than SGGS and few other banis). I have not

yet got any authentic correction request for SGGS.

For correction, best is to read the bani from large screen aPad and

notify me through e-mail, If I try to export the files and give it to

you, then it will only solve 50% of the problem, but the remaining 50%

will remain as there is lot of post processing logic which is

performed, before the bani is rendered on the screen.

There are few Sikhs, who have volunteered to read the bani in

Ludhiana and have promised me to send the corrections. I am yet to

    receive corrections from them.

    Regards,

    Surinder"

  4. I guess it wouldn't be too hard if the developer could post all his bani somewhere for us to read or Granthis etc to read so that we can have 1 person reading from the developers used Bani and then 1 person read and follow it through on a Gutka Sahib. Easiest way I think. So what next? Should I just e-mail a couple of developers that have made apps on Android etc and could someone do it for the iphone apps? (I don't have an iphone and don't know how the shop works there)

    Edit :

I have e-mailed 2 of the app developers from the main android Gurbani apps,

Amirt Keertan Gutka dev and the Gurbani Searcher dev. Hopefully they will read this and possibly answer here or to my e-mail in regards to what their thoughts are on this.

If someone could be ever so kind and do the same for a couple of the main iphone app developers, so that you can draw there attention to this topic.

  5. I guess no one actually knows or wants to talk about such things which effect us the most. Rarther discuss if a monks actions are of shaheedi or suicide and then have 3 pages with 2-3 people arguing with each other.

Close this topic, message to others : If you want to use tablets/phones/websites to search for Gurbani just make sure they match the Original Pothi Sahibs and havn't been typed up wrong. If they have do your best to e-mail the maker of the program or website and let them know about which particular bani has been typed up wrong. Best we can do I suppose, it's not done intentionally by authors of such programs i'm sure.

  6. Sangat Jee,

I have been looking through some apps on my android tablet and phone etc which you can search Gurbani which claims to have indexed sources such as Amrit Keertan pothi on it etc. However I have come across a particular shabad which has put some doubts on the internets authenticity.

I'm going to use 1 particular shabad as an example and also understand it could just be an exceptional anomaly.

The shabad is : Har Sachae Takth Rachhaeaa Sath Sangat Melaa

I have an Amrit Keertan pothi from around 40 years ago and this pothi itself has been used by Puraatan Gursikhs. Now line 3 and 6 in the Pothi are as follows :

3 : Gur Simar Manaee Kalkaa Khandae Kee Velaa

6 : Gur Sangat Kenee Khalsaa Manumukhee Duhelaa

however on other internet sources and the Amrit Keertan android app also searchgurbani.com it is different and possibly incorrect (I say this because this shabad is from Bhai Gurdas Jee's vaaran and could potentially have 2 different versions)

3: Gur Daas Manaee Kalkaa Khandae Kee Velaa

6 : Sangat Kenee Khalsaa Manumukhee Duhelaa

Is there any learned Gursikh here who can clear my doubt and whether I should scrap using these apps etc and just stick to the Gutka Sahib?

I use it for Keertan purposes and don't want to be reading the wrong shabad.

  7. Rarther than going through with a recipe from the internet, the best idea is to just see it get made and learn the proportions and write them down.

A little bit of trial and error and shouting from mom to get out of the kitchen should be enough to get something good going.

  8. West London Singh , the whole point of this forum is to seek advice, not ridicule those who have a worry. I dont dispute that yes Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is our Maharaaj, but when you have your family doing manmat other than going to guru Ghar you are going to ask advice from ppl your own age too!

Singha, what are you scared of? Why have you left your house. Please stay home and treat this person as a guest, don't eat or drink anything from him but not for one second treat him any different you would another guest. Please read post #18 from Only Five, this is the kind of way to deal this issue in a more Gursikh way of thinking, or atleast I think so because at the end of the day - i'm no Gursikh and have absolutely no idea of what to do. However to me when I read this post, some of the points made reminded me of how Gursikhs speak.

Also, Singh jee - i'm sure you are aware and have done already but you are blessed. Guru maharaj has done such huge Meher on you on already, you could be sitting there right in the house with your hair cut following some random ritual. He has given you the opportunity to fulfill a Gursikh life and not have to go through these other channels (not saying they don't exist or are wrong in any way). Stay firm and like other problems to come this too will just past.

May Guru Bless us with his Mat - Gurmat.

  9. Yeah, agree with you on that. It is definetly the approach people should be taking to be honest.

In regards to the dastaar getting wet etc, I'm going to be taking 3 maybe 4 dastaara with me anyway so I'll be putting the one i've worn throughout the day on a radiator etc to dry it out at night. Should be alright I guess.

  10. Sangat Jee,

I need some suggestions/help on this dilemma i'm facing. I'm about to go on a Snowboard/ski trip very soon and i've always worn a standard Taksali single (sometimes keski underneath) kinda dastaar for a few years now and it's part of me, I can't change this.

My concern : I'm most likely going to fall a few times and I do not want my dastaar to get loose or fall off.

I don't tie it into my joora or anything like a Nihang style dastaar so I don't know how to secure it. I've been trying to tie a Nihang style dastaar over the last few days and although I do it (not a newbie to tying dastaars) it doesn't really feel that secure still? It feels like the top part (not the bunga only the dastaar layer) will just slide off or something.

People keep suggesting to go wear a patka or whatever, this is something I simply cannot do. So please Sangat Jee if you have some sort of suggestion or idea on what I can do then please suggest it to me. I'm not confortable with a really tall dastaar. It makes me look stupid to be honest and although it looks beutiful on others it's probably not my thing unless there was a technique or way to tie it a little lower (if you know what I mean).
