  1. Thanks for your responses everyone really appreciate it. Yeah i've thinking about wether I would enjoy coding or not and i'll be honest with you I don't mind at all I think. The reason perhaps i've not had a good experience with VS is because we use it at such a BASIC level and in this HND diploma and my game plan is to sign up for the degree (just the Computing Bsc) and then also make sure I get the placement since it's essential for experience purposes. I'll be alright with coding I think, what I might do is I discussed it with some others last night and they said look at job titles etc and job descriptions see the one that will suite you best, call employers and companies and see what they require you to have etc.

Now about the networking and the Cisco/individual certs I can get them at any time I suppose and I can always go on that line and if I get the degree atleast I have something on paper even if it doesn't hold too much importance to companies these days since they want more experience etc (which I hope to get with the placement - i'm going to try get a good useful placement)

So yeah, hopefully that goes well :) Also i'm from the UK.

Again, Thank you very much for the help and advise - I needed it!

  2. The dastaar is just an external experience and the respect and honour it once had isn't there anymore. It's all what's inside. How could you for a moment think that people especially todays youth who wear tall dastaara have an ounce of rehit/maryada inside them?

Dastar doesn't automatically = Gursikhi Jeevan i'm afraid.

Not judging either really, at the end of the day only Guru Sahib knows who are the ones with KHOKHLEY hearts and those with Pyaar. Shouldn't really look at how others with Dastaars act rarther have the thinking that "okay, i'm wearing my Gurus dastaar and I won't go to a place or do an action my Guru himself would not."

  3. This guy. He seriously needs to give a rest. If there is people out there who want to cause 'havoc' there are a million other ways they can. Stop bashing our principles and faith and go and focus on something else.

Personally I think he's going to slip up and say something really wrong one of these days and get what's coming to him. I mean credit where it is deserved he does put a lot of dumb statements to the floor from some of the callers but why are you causing these debates on OUR faith in the first place? What is your agenda? What do you want to achieve with this. You arn't going to achieve anything, we arn't going to change - never have and never will.

    Edit :

Okay I was listening to this 1 guy "These baptised sikhs they are bullies". "It's not blunted it's a SHARP blade". These are the intellectuals that are being allowed onto a national radio station.

    Edit :

Alright, final edit. I promise. So I think people should be aware that the kirpan HAS to be sharp. It's not a symbol, it's not there just for the sake of it. If it isn't practcal then it shouldn't be there at all. Guru Gobind Singh Jee's Hukam wasn't for us to equip ourselves with BLUNT Kirpans but Kirpans and I think it is dishonorable act to make a shastar blunt. It's beadbi to me, the Kirpan has got to be sharpened by the Singh. You don't own the kirpan it's given to you by Guru Gobind Singh Jee, if you can't make sure it's sharpened and make sure proper sewa is maintained of the shaster then take it off. Don't wear it, we don't need you to go around wearing blunt Kirpans. Hand em over.

Also Singhs don't need to go to places/events where their faith and there house isn't honored. You don't HAVE to go to the olympics.

  4. I've gone through hours of audio (the speeches etc), youtube videos. There is a possibility that i've just missed 1 because I wasn't thorough enough. I'm going to call it a day for today. I'm sure there is a pyara from the sangat who knows which video i'm on about and will be able to locate it or have it saved etc.

In the katha part of it they say how the Sangats ardas is what keeps everything going and then they do a benti to the sangat to do an Ardas to Maharaj to have mercy on them no matter how they are etc and how they are still a keertani of Guru Nanaks etc. Something along these lines. If this strikes any bells and someone knows what i'm on about please share.

  5. It's at some Gurdwara in the UK I think with Ustaad Virdee playing tabla with them. I know there are other videos of Ustaad Virdee and Giani Jee on youtube but it isn't any of them. It was on Sangat t.v. and at the end it said something like a GNNSJ production etc. I can't go to GNNSJ (110 miles away).

  6. @ xtremesingh18 : HAHAHAH, no. Nothing wrong with seeking a little bit of entertainment and being a jackass about it but theres the time and place to do so. This isn't one of those times or situations. The OP writing this could be genuinely needing help and serious about his/her request for help. Last thing OP wants is someone replying to OP's topic to post a video of some "chaos" because he/she snitched on a sibling.

ps. His/her he/she.. :/ I know Manvir is usually a male name but yeah..

  7. I think it depends on wether 1. You have alot of family there etc and would the rest of your family also be going back to India and 2. If you own a lot of land there and could atleast have farming prospects or some sort of business so that you wouldn't just be walking into India "naked".

I have the requirements of 2 but if my family wern't moving then no, I'd leave how India is and just visit it for the holidays and move to another country they wanted to move to instead.

  8. Dear Sanget Jee,

Does anyone have the recording of Giani Amolak Singh Jee that was played on Sangat tv (Atleast I think it was) where they are in the darbar sahib with Virdee Jee on the tabla? I've tried to find it on the internet couldn't find it, it was definetly put together by the GNNSJ as far as I know.

  9. I can't tell you about any life changing experience however I would like to give you some advice based on my own experience. When I went it was just for 2 days, 2 days to travel - 2 days stay - 2 days travel back. We visited Sachkhand and around 13-14 Gurdwara Sahibs around and also Gurdwara Nanak Cheera. Everything was great, I enjoyed it and I loved it however I wish I had spent maybe 4-5 days in the area and not have to rush it all. Perhaps this is something you should consider IF you have the time. Otherwise yeah, standard trip is 2 days to get there, 2 day stop and 2 day travel back making the trip around 6 days.

  10. To be fair, we will never know what happens in governments behind the scenes. Media doesn't know and are unable to cover it ALL. So why he did what he did portrayed by the media isn't always the full story. So to judge someone based on that I think is inaccurate.

I'm sure Hitler made many of these cute speeches to justify his actions too. I'm not saying Gaddafi is the same or anything, just a thought.

  11. That looks like some hindu thing going on there, I'm not saying the text is bani or not : I don't know nor does it matter to me. Just the rest of whatever is going on in that video is... yeh... Not right. Oh and on topic, no idea what raag that is. Not sure it is a raag. I also have a feeling you made the topic more to show the forum the video and not ask about the raag, just my opinion.
