This article speaks my mind exactly. Have a read instead of following the majority.

    Bandhi-Chor or an Alibi?

Every year, with arrival of Diwali I am forced to ponder over the hypocrisy that has entrenched our Sikh society. Sure, I am afraid to reason on Diwali/Bandi-Chor Diwas and its importance within the four walls of the Gurudwara, as it would amount to playing with sentiments and lead us nowhere.

So for years I have started isolating myself more and more from this occasion. Unless of course there is great keertan darbaar going on in the Gurudwara, I make it a point not to be present in any community celebrations on this day.

Am I taking it too far?

I don’t know. But I would surely appreciate if someone can help me understand why I should not take it too far!

Here are some thoughts on Diwali/Bandhi Chor Diwas.

Till date Historians have not reached a consensus on the period of Guru Hargobind Jis’ stay in the Fort of Gwalior. Historical texts indicate this period from as short as Forty days to as long as 12 years (Dabistan-I-Mazahi by Muhsin Fani). Some periods indicated in historical texts are 1617 – 19, 1609 – 1611, etc. Muhsin Fani is obviously wrong in stating the 12 year period because most of Gurus children were born during these years.

We know that Indian Calendar system is lunar based and therefore the no. of days in the Solar based calendar does not match with Indian system. If we are not sure about Guru Hargoind Jis period of stay and his discharge from the Gwalior Prison, then how can we mathematically calculate

  2. What's with the UNITED BRITISH ALLIANCE in your signature then? You fanatics are making Sikhs look like Muslim extremists with all your rhetoric and chauvinism and attempts to act like Sikh Taliban and moral vigilantes policing the lives of Sikh women.

UBA are not bnp or rightwing. My signature is due the fact I am British and part of a United Alliance of all colours and creed against people who are against us. Do you question all signatures or do you question mine cos your are against what my signature stands for??

Women should be protected they have done very good job of it we haven’t

Men are women are equal but not in all circumstances, for example a boxing match never takes place between a man and women does it ??

I think you are a trouble making thug, who ironically in his hatreds and bigotry closely resembles the very fundamentalist Muslims you spend so much time obsessing about. Explain your support for the racist right-wing fascist BNP too.

I agree with some of their policies. i.e. deporting illgal immigrants and ayslum seekers who commit crime, and hanging child killers.

...but that doent mean i will vote for them.

  4. Which is the bigger or what should be.

Its fair say to that k2k is a issue only to British Sikhs as it is not likley to happen in usa/canda not on the same scale as britian anyway.

Growth rate stats in the U.K will show that sikhs are the slowest growing nation, why ?? cos sikh women who convert incerease "thier"nation and we loose a gerneration.

Face it khalistan agender was over in 1996ish. When in india this yr i asked sikhs what thier views were, they reply was dont want it never have done, people aged 22 or below have never heard of it.

So why are sikh in the uk putting so much effort in to a cause that isnt even a agender where it matters (punjab).

With some much effort in to khalistan, we turn away from this very dangerous situation of k2k. So much time and effort is put in kahlistan but not k2k2.

Ask any sikh family be they amrthari orthadox causual or whatever, ask would you rather have khalistan or your daughter or sister become a muslmani, i think they would rather have thier daughters.

  5. It was an excellent program but pitty again a punjabi gal who played nasima (majinder virk) has no self-respect by agreeing to scences showing her in underwear and in other inappropraite scences.

But as a drama it was very well written and played out ... though too far fetched, too over the top in some parts of it. No muslim would join MI5 and not have any concept of loyality to his british pakistani/muslim people, which is understandable unless he/she was not a person of honour. The current batch of British anti-terror laws did not come into play until the muslims started to go aboard to afghanistan/pakistani terror training camps they aroused suspcions by authorities here.

The British govt knew that the muslims were going to cause a problem in the west regardless of so called sense of persecution or not because the ground work of anti-terror laws was prepared back in 2000 by jack straw (the then home secretary). The intellgience agencies always have prior knowledge of terror attacks, some suggest that they even play a part in recruiting these nutters in order to bring in legislation to curtail human rights and basic freedoms of their citizens in the west. British muslim Rashid raulf comes to mind (possible MI6 agent) who has not been heard of since few months after the 7/7 bombings. Where is he now?

that virk girl needs a slap for doing our bezti on two accounts.

  6. The BBC should be renamed the British Bukwas Service. Even their own report recenty noted that a majority of their employees hold liberal views. So much so that many accuse the BBC of only employing people holding certain political views. The BBC goes out of its way to promote Muslim views and recently used the 60th anniversary of the partition to transmit anti-Sikh propaganda. It has scored some massive blunders in the last few years. In 2005 in transmitted a documentary 'The power of nightmares' which argued as the byline said "the Power of Nightmares explores how the idea that we are threatened by a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion" Five months later 4 Muslims blew up tubes on the London underground. A month before 7/7 they made a documentary called Don't panic I'm Islamic" about the supposed backlash against Muslim after 9/11 and how trying to show a variety of Muslims talking about how they are not a threat to Britain. The funny thing is that the documentary featured a Muslim women going on about how she could understand something taking part in a suicide bombing! It also featured a group of Muslims taking part in regular paintballing trips. The irony is that these same Muslims are now in court accused of organising 'terror training'!! :homer

The 'Asians' at the BBC are no better, they're just a bunch of coconuts, trying to please their gora bosses. Any <banned word filter activated> who's willing to tow the BBC line that the experience of most Asians in UK is of young people trying to avoid arranged marriages & honour killings, the elders work in corner shops and are out of touch and the kids are confused between two cultures will get to go on the BBC gravy train. Any 'Asian' character on any BBC soap usually has to go through the above during their stint on the soap.

agree with some but not they're cocunts. they are left wing extreme loonnies.

bbc is government owned, if you want a change dont vote labour simple.

..and kick out nihal of of his bbc studio.
