Life keeps throwing stuff at some of us. I'm not going to ever give up on trying to be strong, tough, resilient and stoic (and not just physically but mentally too), maybe that stuff doesn't help you but it most certainly helps me deal with all manner of crap. Otherwise I'd have probably slashed my wrists or overdosed or something like that years ago. I don't want to be any whining victim.

So whilst it might not be for you, don't knock it because it may well be a saving grace for some others.

I remember the story of your wife. It's been a while now, try looking for someone else, and let go of the old stuff as much as you (or anyone can).  You're still young, get into another relationship but don't carry the hurt of the past into it (easier said than done I know). This world goes on, despite our hurt and pain. That's the bitter truth.

And some tough talk: I think it was a b1tch move from you to pick up and make an issue of a little use of slang by myself.

Hmmm why move on when mentally and spirituality you have not? Just put pressure and take your anxiety out on someone else, for nothing? Does not make sense to me.

And life does not just go on unless you deal with your internal turmoil.

Use it how much you want, just be cautious,  where and when.

Maybe you need to sort your own head out first then? Did it occur to you that we all might be at different stages?

Plus some of us might want to know what is going on in the world. It effects us, whether we like it or not.

I don't want to be a closeted, overly sensitive person. I don't think any Sikh should be, we've had enough of that already.

    I'm trying to brother

The reason that it doesn’t go away, is because we haven’t allowed Prakash to take place inside us…

When we hear the attributes of the the creator, through Gurbani, then Prakash begins to take place…

First of all we need to listen to the creator's attributes…

When we start to incorporate Gurmat teachings in to our daily lives, this will result in reduction of haumeh….

Without hearing about the creator's attributes, we cannot ever lose haumeh…

So true. Kathataa , bakataa, sunataa, soiee

More self reflection is needed i guess

Haumeh ceases to be when we realise that everything is in the hands of the creator…

Haumeh ceases to be when we realise that everyone and everything is like a puppet on a string…

Haumeh ceases to be when we realise that we are all actors in a movie…we just act out the part that the director instructs us to play out…

Haumeh ceases to be when we realise that the creator is the director…and the everything is the director’s stage…

Hmm but I understand this, and it still doesn't go away

You should try reading Prof. Sahib Singh's teeka as well. Here's an English translation of some of it:

A lot of meaning derived from Sanskrit , did the meaning translate over into Gurmukhi? Hmmm think i need to study a bit on this, thank you for this though

    This is one theory:

I'm not sure how 'sorry' to feel for the people there. Were they not Buddhists a lot of  them at one time ?

Is it just Taliban that treated non-Muslims there badly and forced then to leave ?

In these situations I try and think and  behave how our Gurus would have (not saying im good at it, as the five thieves are always stalking and picking my mind), atrocities against them and they still built a mosque etc.

  7. Wonder when the civil war starts, Taliban vs IsIs,  well played America whats the point on sacrificing your own troops, just get them to kill each other. Found it strange them just up and leaving after 20 years, shady dealings,  plus they can already say well we left all this equipment over there,  while they are funding one of them. Feel so sorry for the people.

Anyone able to recommend clear and simple Jap Ji Sahib Katha, in Punjabi audio that they recommend ?

    Thanks

Slightly different to what you asked, not specifically jap ji and on YouTube,  but finding these from Dharam seva records very enlightening,  search for them on YouTube and go to video section . They explain what the hukamnama means in Punjabi and English

  9. Hey up, just a quick one , whist doing paath, I sometimes mispronounce bani (usually due to mind wondering), because I have a you tube video on the TV by the side of me, I can not stop, pronounce it correctly,  then continue .

I ask forgiveness,  once the paath has finished and also ask to keep my mind quite and to not make the mistake again.

Just wanted to know is this right way to go about things,  and if you have alternative,  please advise.

  10. He has a lot of videos and posts on LinkedIn,  his persistence of making as many people aware of the current situation is commendable,  wish the ignorant would grow up, they know the difference. Remember moving into Salford for uni just after 9/11 all the chavy 16-21 year old, shouted the taliban are moving in because house mate was wearing a phaag. A lot of scraps back then.

yeah well Richard Pryor was brought up in a brothel so he had a miserable upbringing experiencing the toxicity of human  on the daily , that is why he had a stammer , because of the violence he witnessed , his swearing was his defence mechanism . Most of these guys learned to be macho men by mouthing off and deflecting violence by wisecracking.

Paul has no real reason to and it does not help his act as by he's said a gaal five times it isn't worth listening to his ish . he's had the same act for years 70% swearing 30% possible joke/message.

So now if you are born in a certain situation,  its ok to swear and such, ok.
