Torontobboi. You live in Toronto. That should explain it all but let me elaborate. As an overwhelmingly Doaba Sikh community the UK Sikhs have blood, kith and kin with the west coast BC Sikh community....with one brother here and another there etc. Not with the Toronto Sikhs as they (you) are virtual fresh off the boats and predominately Malwais anyway. As mostly now 3rd and 4th generation western born the UK Sikhs share blood with the 3rd and 4th generation west coast Canadian Sikhs. Not you Toronto Sikhs. When it comes to talking about diaspora histories then.....the subject of Toronto Sikhs should only really be discussed when talking about other fairly new diasporas, such as the Italian Sikhs. It's irrelevant in this discussion. This discussion is about the Sikh pioneers in the west coast of Canada and America circa late 1890s to early 1900s. The malwais of Toronto, arriving from the late 1980s onwards, have no involvement in any of this. It will take a 100 years of catching up to do before the subject of Toronto will be of even the slightest of interest to anyone outside of the Toronto area.
You see, the subject of history aside, the trouble with Toronto is that it is a city that is so desperate to see itself as a great world class city that it has convinced itself that it is, not realising that the rest of the western world sees it as a city on par with cities such as Geneva, Dallas and Stokholm, only a lot more boring. When Europeans, including UK Sikhs, talk about how beautiful Canada is they are talking about BC. The mountains, the scenery, the landscape. Not Toronto. When it comes to historical discussion of diasporas then, the 3rd and 4th generation UK Sikhs are talking about the 3rd and 4th generation BC and California Sikhs. Not the 1st generation Toronto Sikhs. Toronto is of very little interest to anybody anywhere generally...but especially when it comes to discussing history.
Honestly Toronto is considered a better and more developed city than Vancouver both in terms ofs infrastructure and culture. Also majority of Sikhs in BC came during the same time in the late 80s and 90s. Not 100 years ago those are hardky there. If you go to Vancouver you'll see it's below tonronto in terms of culture aswell. Toronto is very multicultural well Vancouver is pretty much just a white Chinese and India city

I was in Leeds about 20 years ago when I was in uni meeting other members of a well known Sikh 'gang' who originated from B'ham if you know who I mean (sssshhhhhh!)
I ain't surprised at what you say. I noticed the two-facery in the brothers I met there (when it came to caste) even back then.
I'm from East London btw.
Could u elobrate on this bhaji it sound very interesting and very similar to a trend staring to develop in here

I wanna lay one fact bro . India when it was under the British was inducted to the UN as a permanent member this was a short time before it became a "sovereign" country. If you do investigation on all these deviant social agenda pushed on the world and how they are fiananced and how they are ingrained now in academia you will be truly shocked how deep this rabit hole gos and the most horrifying part is that it is a true and ppl are clue less. It was designed this way

Yeah apneean mother-in-laws are always reasonable, kind, rational people towards their daughter-in-laws.....
Some parents can be dumb as f**k. It's actually better not to listen to them sometimes. Sikh guys being weak-willed momma's boys is really attractive to females. Yeah, that won't make some jananian want to run off with some masculine bundha will it.
Mothers are just filling the void as most father's don't really connect properly with their kids. They see it as being unmanly or something. Sikh fathers need to be better role models and drop these pendu attitudes

The thing that pisses me off is how Punjabis try to act all white . They all act all hardcore over hockey buy posters of players put em all over there rooms celebrate Christmas n Thanksgiving go to bars get drunk .I even heard em say drinking is part of Sikh culture or were allowed to drink . They try n act all modern n some aunties show off tht their daughter is marrying a gora
I see Punjabi girls (mostly jattian) talk like white women wear skimpy clothes get drunk there parents let them be models where they take half naked photos (Amrit Dhaliwal)don't get me started on how they behave in weddings I used to be a videographer n saw auntian drink they start dating at like grade 8 I don't no bout UK but here in Canada we have Punjabi gangs n they r white washed AF they haven't Lived in poverty like u UK guys have Infact they live in huge houses drive daddy's car and turn to wannabe gangsters

N most these pakis r barveli Sufi oriented just like the ones in Canada they r known coke n pot heads I met an Algerian Salafi n he absolutely despised pakis he said they were more south Asian culture influenced but I corrected him saying that's not true. The Algerian guy told me that as Muslim you aren't even allowed to look twice at a girl or shake hands let alone date or befriend. Most Pakistanis r cringey smelly morons

They didn't pave the way for the Diaspora for crap. The Diaspora communiy especially in Canada came about in the 1980s that's when many Punjabis started immigrating to Canada . It wasn't just Jatts either lots of Rajputs and sainis too . My parents didn't even know about the Sikh pioneers I learnt about them in school and they r pretty insignificant as the community really started to develop in the 90s not 100 years ago as some like to belive. Also in Canada lots of Punjabis came from Hoshiarpur and Moga aswell not just Jalandhar

Lotta Sikhs are known alcoholics especially in Canada u never see hibdus or Pakistanis doing this even Sikh women drink openly my dad is a taxi driver and said he always had drunkk Sikh girls after a club night in his cab either puke or try assaulting him in a drunken rage cos they said he overcharged them when he clearly didn't he always just kicked em out in the middle of the highway after he made them clean up the mess

When did you learn about the caste system?
in WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Those r pretty much the epitome of surrey gangsters no one takes them seriously especially the real gangsters who r mainly Somalis Jamaican and Asian . Surrey and Vancouver are like the richest areas in Canada and the gangs there get humbled in other provinces.
Anyways the trend in reffering to is jatts only chilling with jatts and lookin down on other groups . Promoting there drinking and Bhangra culture dating culture ect and trying to link it with sikhi
