  1. I am so sorry about your loss. I am not a Sikh Youth, I am actually an old man, almost 54 yrs old. I have lost many close to me, including both of my parents. My brothers wife died of cancer 6 yrs ago. It is still very hard for me to lose anyone close to me. I cry at the loss of people I don't even know! I am now studying to become a Sikh, so I am not very knowledgeable in this area. But, I just tell myself that perhaps this was their last incarnation. Your brother sounded like a great person but perhaps this was his time to merge with Waheguru. We can never understand death. But we must look at it as a beginning, not an end. You will see your brother again someday. In the meantime, we will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Your loss is our loss. God bless you and give you peace. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. RickC
  2. Thanks to all my Sikh Brothers and Sisters who have posted here and emailed me. Just in one day I have gotten a lot of replies. It is nice to know that I am welcomed into this loving group. I do read the Japji each morning and am beginning to read more everyday. I still have a long way to go. I wish to be worthy of joining the khalsa. I am Kesh and always carry a knife. (I actually teach knife techniques to my students.) I feel that I am changing inside, and I am trying to learn what else I should do. Are you all vegetarians? Also, where can I purchase the Turban, Bracelet, undergarment, comb, and curved sword? At what point can I go to a Gurdwara and get my new name? Thanks again to everyone for all your help. Your support has made my heart glad. If anyone wants to come to America and train with me for a few weeks, I would not charge you anything. Just teach my family the ways! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki fateh! Rick C. tnjkd@yahoo.com
  3. Thank you ultimate paapi. If you want to come to my house for a couple of weeks to train for free, you could teach my family and I how to live as Sikhs! What a great vacation for all of us! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  4. :T: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I am a 53 yr old man living in America. I studied Sikhism many years ago but now wish to convert. I wish to receive email advice on how practice Sikhism. I am also a martial arts instructor with 33 years of experience. Please see www.creativefightingconcepts.com. I would really enjoy having emails about how I can do more to become a Sikh. I am now Kesh and do get up early in the morning to meditate and pray. I live in Tennessee with my wife and two children. I teach Bruce Lee's art of Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, and Muay Thai Kickboxing. If someone wanted to learn these arts, I would teach them for free in exchange for teaching me how to become Sikh. I would also like to learn how to speak Punjabi. I just wish to learn more about Sikhism so someday soon I may go to the Gurdwara and become Khalsa. The only Temple close by is two hours away from where I live. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at: tnjkd@yahoo.com
