  1. Giani Harbhajan Singh Chaminda and myself expressed our desire for partaking Amrit. Bhai Sahib said, "Well, take full bath and be present before the Akhand Path starts and listen to whole of the recitation." We did as instructed. After Bhog of Akhand Path, keertan of Asa di Vaar was over by about 10.00 a.m. Panj Piyaras assembled in a room in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib for initiating new Khalsas. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Jee, Bhai Attar Singh Jee, Bhai Surjan Singh Jee Gujarwal, Bhai Parbhakar Singh Jee Lalton and a Singh Jee from Phallewal

served as Panj Piyaras, and Jathedar Ram Singh Jee was in attendance to Sri Guru Granth

    Sahib.

First Giani Harbhajan Singh appeared before Panj Piyaras. He was asked whether he was

married or not to which he replied that he was married. He was asked if his wife is also

with him and ready to partake Amrit. To which he replied that he has come alone. At this

point he was told that both, he and his wife, should be present together. He alone cannot be

administered Amrit. Bhai Harbhajan Singh came out very dejected and weeping, he went

straight to a manger (Khurli) in the courtyard, threw himself in it and started wailing

uncontrollably. I tried to console him and find out the reason for his grief but he could not

    utter a word.

Then the Panj Piyaras called me; I went inside, bowed before the Guru and

stood up with folded hands. Thus proceeded questions and answers about my marital

    status:

    "Are you married or not?"

    "I am married."

"Then you can not be administered Amrit in the absence of your wife."

"It means that if my wife does not agree to partake Amrit I will have to die without

coming under the umbrage of Guru. I do not need a wife I need Amrit. Please find a way

    to administer Amrit to me."

"You will have to pledge in the presence of Panj Piyaras and Guru that unless your wife

partakes Amrit and she is married to you as per Gurmat traditions by performing Anand

Karaj, you will not consider her as your wife."

As I had married as per Hindu rites. I agreed to this condition.

Bhai Sahib again said, "The pledge you are going to take before the Guru is difficult to

keep. Give a second thought to it."

I thought for a moment and replied, "I consider Panj Piyaras as living image of

omnipresent Guru. When in the presence of Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the living

image of the Guru, Panj Piyaras bless me then I will be able to face any difficult situation

and all problems would be solved."

"All right bow before the Guru, you will be administered Amrit."

I was very much attached with Giani Harbhajan Singh. I requested on his behalf,

"Harbhajan Singh is very upset. He is weeping and wailing and can not be consoled.

Please consider him also under similar condition." My plea was accepted and he was

    called in again.

We were provided with yellow under turban (keski) and blue black outer turban. Each

one of us was also given a chakar to wear with the turban. We got ready after putting on

these things. My turn to partake Amrit came first. After administering Amrit to me, Naam

was given on hearing which, I felt a cool stream flooding my body; and a

white light spread throughout my body by hearing Naam only once. I was asked to bow

before the Guru, which I did. After that I slipped into mystic abstraction and lost

consciousness of my surroundings. I do not know who helped me aside to make place for

administering Amrit to Giani Harbhajan Singh. He also had the similar experience as in

my case. I was doing Simran with all my power. I was not aware of anything else than

Naam. I do not how much time elapsed before we (Giani Harbhajan Singh and myself)

became aware of our surroundings. After taking some food we moved towards the Dhab

of Male-ana (a small lake) on the boundary of Gujarwal and Narangwal. At this place

Bhai Sahib had spent many days and nights meditating and doing uninterrupted,

undisturbed Naam Simran. All the way I kept on observing a circular disc of light in front

of my face. On reaching the Dhab, Bhai Sahib got busy in Naam Simran went into

Samadhi (mystic abstraction). Giani Harbhajan Singh and myself went to sleep. After

some time we both woke up and had shock of our life as we observed our feet were

missing from our bodies. Bhai Sahib was still in Samadhi. We told Bhai Attar Singh

about our predicament. He told us not to worry and said that our feet are in the heart of

Bhai Sahib. He performed Ardaas and our feet were again attached to our bodies. Bhai

Sahib broke his Samadhi and led us, in the same intoxicated state, to his house at

Narangwal. We returned to our school at Ludhiana next day.

  2. The Immediate Effect of an Akhand Paath and Amrit Smaagam

I received amrit in 1911 at village Fulayvaal in Ludhiana, at the home of a Singh. This

individual’s whole body was stiff due to some disease and he couldn’t move at all. He

had grown weary of trying to get some medical cure and still he could find not relief. Due

to the encouragement of a Singh in the Jatha, he expressed the desire that if his sickness

would be cured, he would organize and akhand paath saahib and secondly, he along with

his family would become amritdhaaree. Because of this, Bhai Saahib and the entire jathaa

arrived and the akhaand paath saahib commenced. The whole story can be found in the

book Ranglay Sajjan (Baba Ram Singh).

The result of the Akhand Paath Saahib was that at the middle of the paath, this individual

was lifted up by two Singhs and stood for the entire ardaas. By the end of the Akhand

Paath Saahib, the entire family was ready to accept amrit. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer

Singh jee himself was in the punj pyaaray.

The Amrit Sinchaar took place and the entire family received amrit and I too received

amrit at this time. Immediately after receiving amrit, the disease was gone and the Singh

could walk about easily. My spiritual state was seen by the punj pyaaray and cannot be

described in words. For the next fifteen days, I stayed in a state of ecstasy.

    Punishments from Home

My father, upon seeing my state, became very angry. My family and all relatives were

Kukeh and were all upset with me. Right away they began to deal with me

firmly. My Naamdhaaree relatives also arrived and they all tied me to a pillar. After

seven days, while I was still tied up, they beat me. The stick they were using hit the

gutkaa I was holding in my hand. As a result (punishment) my father came down with a

fever. In the end they had to release me.

    The Reason Behind Getting Ras

Right after my release, I went to Narangvaal to Bhai Saahib and told him all that had

happened. Bhai Saahib was very happy and said, “It’s good you came”. I asked Bhai

Saahib “for fifteen days, the intoxication of naam was over me, but now why has it

    lifted?”

Bhai Saahib replied: “That ras which you have enjoyed up to now was the punj pyaaray’s

own naam earnings. Now you too must go in a peaceful area and earn the profit of naam

    abhyaas.

More Amazing Incidents from Akhand Paaths and Amrit Sinchaars

    1) Once the date for an Akhand Paath was set for the house of Bhai Ram Singh Jathedaar

in Gurjarvaal. Here, Giani Daleep singh jee Fulayvaal and Giani Harbhajan Singh jee

village Chiminday arrived for the akhand paath saahib. When Bhai Saahib found out that

both Singhs want to receive amrit, an amrit sinchaar was organised immediately after the

akhand paath saahib. Keertan began at amrit vela. After the keertan, the akhand paath

started. Both Singhs sat in Guru Saahib’s presence and began to listen to the akhand

paath. They would only leave to go to the bathroom or bathe. The rest of the time was

spent listening. After the bhog of the akhnd paath, Aasaa dee Vaar keertan took place and

after, the water in the amrit-kunbh (clay jug) was used for the amrit sinchaar. The

spiritual colours that coloured these two are beyond description. Right after receiving

amrit, their eyes were mesmerized. I was also serving in the Punj Pyaaray. The state of

Bhai Saahib and the two bhajhungees cannot be described. Giani Daleep Singh remained

like this for many days. Whoever saw these Singhs became entranced.

After that, Giani Daleep Singh jee accompanied Bhai Saahib jee to Narangvaal. Here too they spent all their time in Naam. Every day they would go to the dhaab and spend the entire night

there. I too would come from Gujarvaal to the dhaab.

  3. sorry let me rephrase for people who have problems understanding, ther is no such thing as dharna being kachi bani

i dont think it is my understading that is the problem, it is your phrasing.

if i said, "there is no such thing as green" you would say, "dont be stupid!" but if i said, there is no such thing as green tigers, then you would know what i meant. so in the future make sure what you say makes sense so as not to say something that is rather stupid.

  4. dharna kirtan was actually started by sant baba attar singh mastuwana sahib wale, but it was more in the lime light when sant baba isher singh ji rara sahib wale wer around, there are sum speeches of sant jarnail singh ji wer they also sing dharna during ther speech.

people get mistaken and say it is kachi bani and so and so, when u hear dhadi vaara sung on stage do you call that kachi baani? when kavisher sing on stage is that kachi bani?.... sum mahapuraks actually do sing lines from gurbani and sumtimes they sing the meaning and arth of bani. there is no such thing as kachi bani.

    hmmmm

you have read anand sahib right?

  5. thats no excuse really, you guys should have more organised and applied for the correct uni on time, tut such typical punjabi ppl!

  6. There was one in 2003 which I couldn't find, so now another in 2008.

This will get for sure deleted

it details how this place is depleted

    a bunch of people free

    in the year 2003

their hearts were like flowers, not a single thorn

thats how apna SikhSangat forum was born

but then there was a clash, and the times were bad

two separate forums made many people sad

the quality went low, and just blew off the lids

so we were left with a bunch of haters and kids

im telling u straight, not playing any games

trying to be decent and so exposing no names

every single time when u think u rung the bell

u were so wrong dude, so just go to hell

u write long posts and cant even dare to dare

carry on making your bloody castles in the air

retards on here just bark without any mercy

cant come up with anything but controversy

filthy suckers spit venom and try their best to shine

dragging their miserable lives where else but online

not blood but hate flows through their cursed little veins

scum bags came to this earth without any brains

now go ahead and try to answer me back

show us once again, its brains that you lack

call me whatever comes into your rotten mind

far from truth, you are totally blind

so come on be a chicken, and report this post

coz u know ur gonna whine till ur a ghost

    rather an offensive poem

i see slander is a good thing then in most peoples eyes?

in fact, people who have used such abusive language in the past on this board have been put on moderation, so why is this post receiving praise? why not put the poster under moderation?

btw jus in case you didnt know, gurbani clearly says slander is not a good thing.

  7. I have read the Se Kanahiya it is a great read and yes i am fully aware of the incident with the Chandi Di Vaar Paath and the Gupt Shaheeds.

I do not doubt this incident but maybe this was a hukam from the shaheed singhs to the great mahapursh only.

Rattan Singh Bhangu mentions the times of Singhs going with Sri Dasam Patshah to the temple of Dadu and singing the Chandi Di Vaar, Guru Sahib reciting the Chandi Di Vaar whist creating the amrit.

Nihangs reading the Chandi Di Vaar at all times.

During the India - China war and India - Pakistan war many akhand Jaaps of Chandi Di Vaar Paaths by the Namdharis, Nirmalae and Nihangs were done.

Nihangs and Namdharis to the day recite Chandi Di Vaar daily during the day.

Neeldharis recite Chandi Di Vaar during the day.

The old singhs from Taksal will tell you that Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Bhindrawalae used to recite Chandi Di Vaar during the day - the source of this information is Giani Preetam Singh Ji of Damdami Taksal

The old taksalis recite Chandi Di Vaar during the day.

I have a video of Sant Teja Singh Ji Rara Sahib Walae reciting the Chandi Di Vaar during the day.

Rara Sahib Mahapursh such as Sant Waryam Singh Ji and Sant Baljinder SIngh Ji used to recite Chandi Di Vaar during the day.

Sant Sukhchen Singh Ji still do paath of Chandi Di Vaar during the day

Nihang Dals and mahapursh such as Sant Nihal Singh Ji Haria Velan Walae, Baba Santa Singh Ji, Baba Balbir Singh Ji, Baba Preetam Singh Ji (Mata Sahib Kaur Walae) all recite the Sri Chandi Di Vaar during the day.

Singhs during the 1984 ghallughara used to recite Chandi Di Vaar during the days prior to the attack.

For this reason i do not see that the Bani of Chandi Di Vaar should only be recited during the night but can be recited in the day like all of these Mahapursh do or have done. Now can these mahapursh or the singhs of Guru Gobind Singh Ji be wrong!!!

For this reason i do not show disbelief in Sant Harnaam Singh Ji's Jeevan Sakhi as i love Rampur Khera and personally go and see Sant Seva Singh Ji. I just belive this was a personal hukam to Sant Ji.

hope you now understand why i said what i did.

    "If you start reciting

the prayer of Chandi di Vaar after sunset then, one must keep reciting it

continuously through the night until dawn. Two or more Singhs may

take turns to recite this prayer through the night, it is all right to do so.

One must sit upon a clean mat or bed, bathing before reciting the prayer.

An oil lamp lit with clarified butter should be kept alight throughout the

night. During the day, one can recite Chandi di Vaar as many times as

    one wants. "

im confused why you keep highlighting the point that singhs recite chandi dee vaar in the daytime, no one is saying that you cant recite it at daytime

  8. yeah a lot of people speak like this

bana on the inside, or bana of humiltlity and such

i am talkin about bana, as in dress attire, this is what this topic is about. unless you can wear a patka with humility?

full khalsa bana (what you wear/clothes/uniform) includes a dastaar

bana is a rehit, all rehits need to be backed up by baani and naam. rehit and naam/gurbani, go hand in hand

if someone does bani all day but doesnt keep basic rehit of keeping kesh, not eating meat, his kamaee is negated

if someone keeps all sorts of rehit, but doesnt do naam or banee kamaee then the essence of him keeping rehit is lost

  9. is there a reason (apart from sant xyz said so) why the specefic bani chandi dee vaar, cannot be recited at night, unless it is done so all night? and why the chaddar has to be white? and why there has to be a jyot?

also people have recited chandi dee vaar at night, and not read it all through the night, and nothing has happened to them?

it doesnt make sense, why a specific bani, is not allowed to be read at night, unless read all night? surely reading bani, how ever many times is a good thing?

  10. loads of "sikhs" do beadbi to their kesh, by bleaching, plucking, waxing, everyday. But because they keep a dastaar on, and have the outwards appearnce of a sikh, nothing is said.intentionaly removing ANY hair from ANY place on the body, is a bujjar kurehit

  11. I am not sure what this post is going to serve. Those who have been fed with hatred for Hindus even before they grew teeth won't give 2 cents even after reading this. However, those who were born normal and are sane may benefit and not fall down the drain of hate like the others. I found these definitions of how and what Gurujee perceived a true Brahmin to be, and was surprised how could someone claiming to be a "Sikh" have so much hate. There were definitions of how a Muslim should be, how a Vaishvav, a Kshatriya etc. should be as well. I got to say, as far as hating on the basis of beliefs is concerned, Gurujee has left us handicapped. A true Sikh can never ever hate anyone, be the person of any religion or any set of beliefs. Thus we are truly handicapped when it comes to hating, because a genuine Sikh cannot hate anyone at all. As hypocritical as it may sound, I myself don't fall under the category of such blessed Sikhs. Just today I have made 2 posts trying to rebutt the garbage some Muslims are spreading about Sikhi. In course of trying to break their logics, I tried my best not to sound hateful, because Bhagat Fareed Jee, Bhai Maradana, Pir Budhu Shah and scores of other mureeds of Gurujee always remind me that not all Muslims are evil like Aurangzeb, Jahangir, Abdali etc. I don't know howcome people like Bhai Bala, Pandit Shiv Dutt, Pandit Kirpa Ram are forgotten by a handful of intellectually defective individuals who cannot remember names beyond the list that has Gangu and Chandu.

Anyways, my ranting is over. There will be enough rotten heads who are going to think that I posted these to defend my background. But then again, who cares. If I did, this thread wouldn't be here.

your post would be much better if you just left the gurbani and deleted your paragraph of writing at the start.

you seem to have taken an offensive style of writing recently "here will be enough rotten heads who are going to think "

  12. dont go

    gurmat comes first

tell your family in a respecatble manner, that you will not be able to attend, and inform them why, if they refuse to listen, then just dont go.

School isn't gurmat. Why go there when you can be home jaaping naam?

school is your kirat kamaee until u got a job. school is necessary so u can get a good job and live a grihstee jeevan as well as giving dasvandh.

    so school is gurmat.

instead of just looking for an argument, why dont you read the guys first post and reply accordingly, that kind of atmosphere, (alcohol dancing) is not an atmosphere for a gursikh, and WILL have a negative effect on naam and gurbani abyaas

if you want to look for loopholes out of everything, then be a lawyer

  13. ^i agree, judge urself b4 judging others

why does everyone always say "dont judge me, dont judge this, judge judge judge, bla bla bla"

its getting annoying, people who do manmat things try to cover it up, by saying that every1 hu tells them that the thing is wrong, is "judging" them, and thats reaaly baddd of them 8-)

gurbani tells us to stay away from sangat of manmukhs and do sangat of gurmukhs, how do we do this without "judging" whos gurmukh and hus manmukh? judging is fine, if you judge people by GURMAT and not by your OWN MAT. if you use gurbani and teachings of guru to judge actions then you cant go wrong, dont judge the person, judge the action. the action of someone determines whether they are gurmukh or manmukh. or goin in tht direction.

doing your eyebrows is WRONG huever the person is that does it.

if guru sahib says do not remove kes, then DO NOT REMOVE KES, theres no other way around it

  14. Here we have it again - the resident extremists with their anti-Hindu venom.

BTW On which page of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji does it state that a Sikh should only marry a Sikh?

I thought we all originated from the One - Ram, Hari, Vaheguru. And i thaught the Guru Granth Sahib Ji states all are equal and God is in everyone and not to discriminate.

Sikhs of the Guru or Sikhs of rehatnamas? grin.gif

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh

It is true that sikhism teaches we are all equal and originate from same God however by marrying people in other faiths causes problems such as after marriage following other religions so other forms of worship which maharaj teaches is wrong as we should only be worshipping Vaheguru. This is what happened with the girl who married a hindu caled amanpreet. Marryin into anotha religion is usually becuase you have "fell in love" with that person this is why arranged marriages happen in which case its sikhs marrying other sikhs.

Sorry if i have offended any1!

  15. doesn't really matter to me... as long as we have enough income to sustain ourselves and (future) family.. i don't care how much or how little she would make... education, although importan, doesn't matter too much... obviously it would be beneficial for her to have more of an education in case she wanted to change jobs and try to earn a better living... education DOES open more doors... buh i nah too picky on that, cuz i kno i aint the most educated person either ;)

bottom line.. as long we have enough to sustain ourselves and our family... :)

Vaheguroo ji ka khalsa vaheguroo ji ki fateh

I agree with Heera i wouldnt care however i think my parents would and as most sikhs have arranged marriages its usually up to the parents and if they find out a person hasnt gt a very good education they won't consider them for their child.

I think however it should b more about the persons sikhi than their education. But thats just my opinion!
