Believe me, when I say, that every single letter, word, line and Shabad in the SGGS is very powerful and meaningful.  When I said the Master finds us and we have no power to find Him, I meant it. Let me elaborate on this to the best of my ability, so bear with me. Everyone goes to the Gurdwara sahib (s) but if you ask them what did the Guru say, they will not be able to answer you. Even if they do answer you, they would just replicate the Bani they heard parrot fashion, without ever knowing the meaning.  Don't forget, even if we know the meaning of the bani, it is not enough. We can read its translations in many books, there is no shortage!  What is important is the need to unfold and embrace the message contained in the Bani in order to succeed in this life as good humans. We leave the meaning and the message contained within the the Bani right there where we heard it, inside the Gurdwara with the Guru sahib. We don't embrace it or try to live our life (s) in accordance to it. No one can claim to have found their Master or vice versa, until and unless we adhere to the teachings of that Master. We can only claim the Master has finally found us when He bestows His mercy and compassion upon us and leads us to the understanding of the meanings and message of His Bani, and not before that. This can only happen when we have finally surrendered our ego to Him and not before that.  When He leads us to His Light and our soul cries out 'Waho Waho' and nothing else, that's when we can rest assured that He has finally found us never to leave us again.

The same principle applies, when we surrender our 'heads' to the Guru at the time of Amrit Sanchaar.  He, the Great Master leads us to his Five and not vice versa. Unless and untill, we embrace everything we are told at that time  we can't call ourselves Amritdhari sikhs, if we have not transformed our previous lifestyle or thinking, we need to rethink again.

The entire creation of His' obeys His Will, it's only us humans that have a problem with it. So, it seems to me, you are the only one who is trying to live your life according to His Hukam in this marriage and not your husband. Thank Him for showing you His Mercy by allowing you to understand what His Hukam is in the Laavaan Bani. You are truly blessed, more blessed than him or his relatives. Let them go, don't loose your faith in such a Powerful and Merciful Guru because of few disbelievers that came into your life. If He can transform a thug to better person, He can surely transform your life to a much happier and a better one, have faith.  Let go and have  faith in Him, with all your heart, worldly goods and sufferings. He is the Remover and Giver of everthing including all our good times and bad times (sufferings), there is no doubt about it. He can remove them in the very same way as He gives them to us. Everything He does is for our own benefit and good. We can't question his Will or His Power.

Of course, He joins our souls with people we marry, but then He is the Only One that disjoins them too. He is All Powerful. He brings people together and then He separates them.  Why He does what He Does, we can't question it. We can't complain. We cannot question His Will, ever, for He works in mysterious ways. We can only respect it.  When we start using our brains and logic we think we are smarter than Him. This is where we start doubting our faith in the Guru.  Doubt and faith don't get along with each other, they are ardent enemies, and you know it. All Dasam Banis, the Gursikhs recite, are extremely powerful.  Dasam Granth is a very empowering Granth.  Try doing Kabiyobach Benti Chaupayee Sahib ji with faith. Our loving Father will surely listen to your heart's cries, just like He listens to everyone elses'. He is truly a very loving Father and we are all so lucky.

I honestly and truly wish you a happiest life you can ever imagine with your husband. I pray He will show not only him but also his silly relatives and those that laugh at you some mercy and lead them all to His Light. I do pray and hope he will return to you and love you and care about you and ask for your forgiveness, for being so silly for doing what he did after following his relatives. (Don't forget to forgive him) Don't forget to remind him also, that he was supposed to follow the Guru and not his relatives as a Gursikh.  I also hope and pray for those that laugh at you now  will soon see the light and start following the Path of Sikhee and learn from their mistakes.  May He shower upon you, your husband and your future children or if you have any now, tons of blessings and love. Good luck and God Bless.

Thank u so much for ur msg, I've learned a lot and your blessings have made me feel even more confident. I've been reading a book my bhai ranbir Singh ji bir called the power of ardas. It speaks about how draupati did many ardas' but it was only at the end (when she had no hope from anyone or confidence in herself at all) krishan ji saved her honor.

I have faith in waheguru ji, he's joined us for a reason, it's kalyug which is encouraging things like divorce so we've just got to do more paath to fight it off. I heard a katha by sant waryam Singh ji and they explained how kalyug came to guru nanak dev ji and tried offering jewels and riches but guru sahib was committed to naam japna at the end kalyug promised guru sahib that whoever recites gurbani he won't be able to harm/touch them.

Guru gobind Singh's jis bachan about its being a paap to even think about anyone but your wife keeps my mind grounded to my hubby because my parents try saying I'll end up with someone better etc but dhan dhan guru gobind Singh jis bachans don't let my mind drift. I hope guru sahib has pity on me and cuts my bad karam in my dreams ( as I have read in many saakhis)

I am definitely going to try and do chaupai sahib daily with waheguru jis kirpa, I hope he'll keep my mind in his lotus feet as currently I'm doing paath but I'm mind isn't resting.

I know we have a karma account and some things may not be good for us etc If we turn our worries into prayers then guru sahib can make anything happen. I mean if we spoke about the lockdown last year it would've seemed crazy/impossible but guru sahib made it happen. Similarly, although logically/looking at the facts it may seem that me n my hubby have no chance getting back together - if guru ji wants he can make it happen.

I seem stupid sometimes, I say all of this but then I still cry.... May waheguru ji have pity on me, I try to keep faith but doubts still come into my mind, I try to focus on paath but my mind still wonders, I try to accept his will but my heart still tells me to hope.... I feel useless, waheguru ji is my only hope. I hope he blesses me with either a reunion with my hubby or death...

Books by Raghbir Singh Bir are really amazing.

    Ardas Shakti.

    Chardi Kala.

    Sarb Rog Ka Aukhad Naam.

If you do a google search, they might be available in English. There is a beautiful audio narration of his books too, in Punjabi though...

Almost coming to an end with 'the power of ardas'

Do u know of any books on Baba deep Singh ji in English, I've been searching but can't find anything?

I am very sorry to hear about your marriage break-up, I wish I could say something soothing to comfort you. Please look after yourself and your children if you have any. Very sorry again. Please, believe me when I say, praying is the best way to cope with such a difficult time or experience in your life.  You are totally correct that it is only our faith in God  that can help us in times like these, there is  no other greater authority or power that can rescue us and show us the right way to deal with sad situations when they arise. So, please have faith in God and don't give up hope.  We have enormous amount of ability to connect with God, there is no doubt about it. I am not sure if w can pray to Him to return the person that has walked out of our life. He or she walked out because of the Great One's Hukam. I mean, God willed it to happen and that's why it happened. We have to learn to live with His Will. God is the only guy that can bless us no one else has the ability to take over or replace this role of His'. He is the only One.  I am not sure about praying to the Universe or what it entails. If you are a sikh by birth, which I am not, you as a true sikh should only pray to One. There is only Him (One) and no one else. There is no Higher Authority than Him.

The Gurus have taught us how to connect with Him. You have to read the SGGS and the Dasam Granth in order to understand the concept of Master and not 'master' as there are countless of these around and none can match the Master. The Master finds you and not vice versa.  You don't have to memorize the whole of the SGGS or DG if it is difficult for you, sometimes only one Panktee will suffice to transform your entire life. Have you heard of the Shabad :  (Dehe Naam Santokhiya Uttrrey Mann Ki Bookh)? If you have then work on it. I can promise you each and every shabada, (letter)  in the SGGS is empowering and life transforming.

You are correct, we, as sikhs, have only one Master. There is no need to go wandering about in the wilderness. He is waiting for us.  He only finds us when we have done enough of the Manmatt, lost all hope and gained nothing.  He is merciful and very loving. We have no power to find such a Great One. He is All Powerful.

I urge you to read the Dasam Granth Banies too.  My life changed. It is so empowering that words fail me here. If you are a woman, please read it. It is the most empowering Granth for women all over the world.

Have you heard of this Shabad from DG: (Giyaan Hoon Ke Giyaata Maanha Buddhitta ke Daata ....)?  Now, how powerful is that? If you are looking for occult/supernatural/spiritual giyaan this the the most empowering line that will change your perspective regrarding praying to the Universe.  I am not sure if praying to the universe is same as praying to God. In my humble opinion, it is not. I might be wrong. If you are a woman, then please read the DG and have faith. You don't have to look for any masters for the Big Master is waiting for you to give you all you need or want or desire, not only in this life but in every life your soul may reside in.  He is the Master of all the masters.

Regarding the concept of 'reaction', if you can try and understand the concept of Tithe, and why as humans, we need to oberseve and adhere to it, it will help. It is a very important rule of the game, we should obey it and live our lives in accordance to it. I first heard about this concept during my childhood from the church priests and parents. It didn't make any sense to me then.  Why give tithe of everything you have to others, when they never worked to earn or deserve it, I asked. I found my answer only later on when my Master found me and I am so grateful to Him, the Great Master. I also learned you can only love and serve one Master and no too or many. Please, take heart, and listen to our loving and merciful Master.  Don't look anywhere else, He is right here with you. May God shower you with all His Blessings.

Marriage break-up is not the end, it's a beginning of something new, don't forget.

Pen ji thank u so much for ur words. Honestly at this time of dukh every word counts.

    My hubby has been mislead by his family who all have had love marriages. ? I just don't know what to say. We are both amritdahri. I just feel like our laavan must have some power otherwise guru sahib wouldve just suggested a court marriage. I have full faith in waheguru ji, I know our karam and kismat play a big role but listen to this;

And guru sahib made reete mitte, he made sajjan thag into sant sajjan. What can guru sahib not do? We just need to have unbreakable faith. It's been 5 month since my hubby has contacted me and he's blocked all ways of contact so I can't contact him but look at the power waheguru ji has put in me - I still have faith (I couldn't have this on my own- it's guru sahib)

I have read bhai guriqbal Singh jis book on power of sukhmani sahib and I'm trying to do 2-3 sukhmani sahibs daily but my target is to do 5. Waheguru ji can do anything....here's an example

I just feel that Dhan guru ram das jis laavan can't be that weak. Our marriage is like a triangle with guru sahib at the top and me n my hubby at the bottom. He has more responsibility than us. Our souls have been joined with him, dhan guru ram das ji will keep my laaj. People laugh at me and say I'm not being realistic, I'm not thinking logically, it's 2020 ..... But I know that logic and and are two separate poles, if i use my brain and logic - guru sahib won't use his powers.

What dasam bani do u suggest. I used to read brahm kavach but the sucham scared me a little.

Please I heard in the katha that the only thing above the guru is the sangat. Please as the roop of the sangat give me blessing of a happy marriage and gursikhi jeevan with my hubby. Please I beg u

You will note the omission of Dasam Bani from the first list.  All gurbani is great, there is no doubt. However my humble opinion is that the demons have evolved since 500 years ago. Dasam Bani is the latest version of Guru's Bani and no nitnem is complete without Jaap Sahib. Sikhs are being attacked from all angles, read Dasam Bani daily and experience the power for yourself, and win every battle in your life both internal and external. As Sri Bhagauti ji will be with you. Waheguru ji Ka Khalsa waheguru ji ki fatehhh

    This is true.

Bani from GGSJ makes us a saint and bani from dasam granth makes us a warrior. This is really important as we're in kaljug and all sorts of things will try attack us and to live as a ghristi/being part of the world you definitely need the sipahi aspect otherwise kalyug won't let u walk on the path of dharam

You will have to go there to learn this from a very genuine master.  I was a highly skeptical individual in my late teens and early twenties. I was too cynical to believe in any supernatural powers in those days. So,  even if they did display any powers, I was a very reluctant believer or observer. It is only later on in my life that I started noticing pcychic abilities in others and appreciating them. Why are you so interested in law of attraction? Are you trying to attract something or someone? Don't forget, even if you succeed in attracting something or someone, be ready to experience the reaction. Make sure the master is there to guide you.  You don't have to go looking for one, he will appear when the time is right for you. Read 'Autobiography of a Yogi' if you haven't already read it yet.

I've been praying for my broken marriage and as I've been listening to katha I've noticed the concept of praying for something and believing/having faith that God has the power to bless u/save u quite similar to the law of attraction. Apart from they pray to the universe and we pray to the master of the universe.

It's all about believing in the higher energy and acknowledging the power we have as humans to connect to that higher energy.

I see guru maharaj ji as my master because whenever I'm feeling low some katha or saakhi or comment will pop up which rebuilds my vishwas and lifts me up.

I haven't heard of the reaction, what's that all about?  ?

This vaar is talking about those who sinned, but were forgiven. The essence of this vaar is telling us not to commit sins, and assume automatically that we’ll be forgiven.

Committing sins in ignorance is one thing. Committing sins, whilst being fully aware, is something more serious....

U seem to read some really interesting stuff. I've read the sukhmani sahib book u recommended by bhai guriqbal Singh ji. Are there any other books u recommended. I'm looking for something that'll help me build faith in waheguru ji/that he listens to our ardas etc as I'm going through a struggling time myself

I wouldn't know where to begin. The whole experience changed my life forever.  India is a miraculous place, full of spirituality and mystery.  What would you like to know? I was brought up in a very materialistic environment, taught to chase after worldly dreams and goals from a very young age. I was taught to strive and aim for worldly success like everyone else around me.  Once I reached 16, I started questioning and looking for something beyond.

I'm really interested in the law of attraction and a lot of the videos I've seen link back to teachings that these people have had from their 'master's' Rishikesh. :)

Did you experience or gain any teachings related to this?

I have done extensive study of Sufism, Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity, Hindusim as well as as many African belief systems and so on. It would be nice to discuss some of them here if possible. I stayed roughly 3 years at Dharamsala to learn different aspects of buddhism and 5 years at Rishikesh in search of sadhoos and mahatmas hiding in Rishikesh caves. I did meet many old hindu yogis there and gained much sought after knowledge from them, which is totally impossible to gain by just reading books. I have read about Mazdayasna as well as Bah'a'i faith. Having said all this, I have to admit I did all this roughly 14 years ago when I was in my late teens and mid twenties before I married and settled down. It would be nice to discuss them to refresh my memory! Oh, by the way, I also stayed 19 months at the holy city of Amritsar and 4 months at Abchal Nagar Sachkhand hazoor Sahib for further learning. Thanks to my parents for funding most of my visits and stays in India. It wasn't unusual for me to run out of funding from time to time.

Waow how lucky! Could you possibly share some key things that you've learnt. Something thats always stuck with you/helped you out in life.

    Thank you :)

Thank u for sharing it anyway. Reminds me of how benevolent guru sahib is- you sometimes forget that when we look at the typical paintings of just guru sahib sitting.

  11. Not every amritdhari girl has excessive facial hair. Sometimes it's a good idea to just get to know the person first because you might just click and you might not even notice the hair anymore.

Looks fade away but if you really feel that you can't look past the hair, it's probably best to marry a non amritdhari or an amritdhari who has the same views as u

A massive thank you for recommending this book, really has helped build faith and dedication,

I've almost complete this book and am looking to read 'Shradha Diya Gyarh Nishaniya'. I've found a punjabi pdf which i can read but i'm hoping to find an English version as it just speeds things up.  Any idea where I may find it?

Can your family assist further? Get some mutual people who know both sides and go over to speak to them?

Theres no winners in divorces. Sadly its become so common. Its so easy to just call for splitting up as opposed to working out the issues.

The vichole have been trying but they've blocked them off, changed their mobile numbers. We even tried contacting his aunties and uncles but they claim to be 'too modern' to get involved. I'm really hurt that not one person has stood up to say it's wrong that it's not only the boy who got married the girl did too therefore she should get an equal say/chance to speak up. This is the truth of our society ?

I've been spending a long time this morning reflecting and I'm trying to explain to myself that no matter what we do or say or even pray waheguru will do what he wishes. The more I wish, hope for this marriage to work out or even listen to my family saying 'gods made someone better for you' the more I'll struggle because only God knows his plans.

I've grown up in a gursikh family and I've loved reading saakhis from a young age and I know Guru gobind Singh ji taught us to be thankful in every situation but I've read hundreds of saakhis where guru sahib listens to ardas, the bad karam are boiled down into dreams so the gursikh doesn't have to live through them. These saakhis don't let me lose hope but Im scared incase I lose faith in the saakhis in the end.

If he doesn’t love you then you can’t force him. Humans are blessed with freedom of choice. You need to repsect his freedom and either fight for him or let him go, not pray to God for him to change his mind. God won’t take away a humans freedom of choice. We dictate our own loves with our choices and decisions and then pay our Karam for our own actions, the Khel is fair.

Therefore, either get up and fight more if you think it will help and worth it or let him go. You can’t force his decision.

You are right, I have been fighting for our relationship as I could've easily just signed off the divorce papers and claimed my gold etc but I truly believe that waheguru ji joins souls together when we have laavan hence it's been almost 6 months of no-contact from his side and I'm still standing for this relationship.

I am praying to waheguru ji because I truly feel that we did not only marry each other but God too, so I'm praying to ask waheguru ji to play his part in our marriage, forgive our previous bad karam. Tbh if a prince was in trouble and didn't ask the king (his father) for help he'd be seen as silly as the king is so powerful he can solve the prince's problems within seconds.

Thats good to hear about the ardas, ultimately this is your own journey. No one is truely there for you,  Gurbani teaches us that.

Maharaj says eh bhi daat teri dataar.....so in this is also a blessing, while it may not feel so now.

Its really difficult but will get easier. Some family members will understand and support, others wont.

Whilst you keep faith and hope, be aware you will be unsettled at times as emotions will be very strong. This is normal, however you must get through it otherwise one can feel depression and have poor mental health, so take support of you family and friends.

Mine didnt understand the pain/grief and just tried to push me to remarry again.i knew this isnt the solution for me so did not do this. But as a guy i dont get as much pressure.

Main thing is to be strong and build up the jeevan. You will be ok, it sounds like you have strong faith.

I'm trying really hard to reduce my thoughts about my husband because the more I think about him the more I die inside thinking about how we got to this situation. I'm really struggling on controlling my angry thoughts towards his family and this is becoming a problem during my meditation. I just feel like because I was always kind and respectful towards them I feel really hurt with the way they treated me. This anger isn't good as it's just angry thoughts which have no impact on them but are burning me inside.

I plead to waheguru ji that he fixes our relationship. I know it seems unrealistic and silly but if we had thought about this lock down situation last year we would've thought it was unrealistic and silly too. I just remind myself that if waheguru ji has written him in my kismat no matter what he does we'll end up together similarly if he's not in my kismat no matter what I will do we won't be together.

I admire you for staying firm with your beliefs, if I did end up divorced (I pray not) I would want to remarry because it's really hard for girls in our Indian society. The problem is finding amritdahri boys who want amritdahri girls is a mission for singles, I don't know how that journey will be for me.

    You need to follow hukam
It seems that this marriage is not to be, you did your best no say goodbye and move on.

You seem maybe like an intelligent and faithful lover, a solution would be find another suitable mate how can take you away and carry you forward.

Excess desire of spouse kids etc is moh though and maya so you should desire guru ji/god/soul more than a spouse. There is no rush so take things slow and get other things up the priority this will solve itself for you with possibility of multiple ways.

Improve yourself in trying to find the route in your everyday problems that pleases everybody.

Go on a spree of doing good deeds the more you do the better looking you will get and the quicker you will get a husband.

Thank u for your reply, I think especially with the carona virus going on, it's allowed me to stay at home and just relax but at the same time I'm so used to staying in I don't really want to go out.

I've been trying to do more paath and listen to katha. I know from experience that everyone wants to move forward and will expect you to 'get over it'. The only person who is there is waheguru, I know if my husband doesn't change his mind the upcoming time will be very emotional- I just pray that I never forget waheguru jis name because it is only his name that's kept me out of depression so far.

Thank you so much for your reply veer ji, Ive been keeping faith for many months but keep finding myself with negative outcomes i.e. receiving divorce papers. My heart still keeps telling me to trust Guru ji and saakhis like your post encourage me but not seeing physical evidence of Guru ji helping me is causing my anxiety to go crazy. ? i just want to find a way to know guru ji is listening and is on my side. I have took hukamanmas but they all vary. I feel so lost with what to do
