I've noticed that the majority of us as Sikhs want others to be in Chardi Kalaa but then dont like to see it when its happening and get blinded by negative things people can call me stupid for sayin this but its just something that i cant help notice..... i know everyones gonna say its not tru etc etc but think about it.....weneva something good is happening to another Sikh, Jatha, Sant, etc etc....we're all the first to jump down their throats and bring out all the bad things we've heard.....then comes the masalla (exageration)....then comes the swearing, name calling! Why cant we see the goodness in others and not bad - im no theres a bani quote for that!! Im sure its says somewhere that a Sikh should be happy to see another Sikh......but lets be honest with ourselves - are we happy at others' Chardi kalaa or is it that we cant stand it........ everyone on this site can hand on heart say that i want others to be in Chardi Kalaa and i am happy to see it..............but lets all ask ourselves - do our actions show the same???? This thread will probly go down the list very quickly.......but b4 we say "I've heard it all b4" lets ask ourselves are we TRULY happy to see other Sikhs in Chardi Kalaa - whether the answer is yes or no lets all do our daily Ardaas and mean it, especially when we say...... "Nanak naam chardi kala, Tere bhaanay sarbatt ka bhalaa" "Through the gift of the Naam given to us by Nanak, may we always remain in Chardi Kala. Within Your will, we pray for the welfare of all humanity"

i have my opinions about the attendence at edinburgh - as i said before i strongly feel that everyone should have been there regardless - unless there was sum next level reason! but also understand other points made about lobying and informing MPs etc and think its totally true - to eradicate this sort of stuff we need to get to the top levels but one bit of advice to all - if you think you can do some seva (whether it be the nitty gritty or the lobying etc) and its right then jus go and doit - dont tel others how to doit and wait for sumone els to do sumthing about it........becoz it will never happen i've learnt that the hard way!

THE CHANCE AROSE FOR US TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT FOR OUR BROTHER WHO HAD HIS KESH FORCFULLY REMOVED THE CHANCE AROSE FOR US TO RAISE THE IMPORTANCE OF KESH TO SIKHS TO A COMMUNITY THAT DIDNT NO those who took the oppurtunity with open arms did those who didnt - DIDNT, simple as! Its true.........where was all the sangat???? its all gud sayin kirpa for next time.......but we all need to WAKE UP NOW.....not next time......personally there should be no excuses for those who were not there on sunday. Spoke to a few elders in my family and they said he might have become Amritdhari towards the end of his life (mostly likely was) but when he first started the within the movement he was a mona, they know because he shot a "police rat" from my pind!!!!! Regardless of that he was a great shaheed of our kaum! Respect to him!

IF im right and if its the same person - he was otherwise known as "Deepa Heera" or "Deepa Heeravalia" he was one of the top Kharkoos in the Khalistan movement for KCF, if you ask anyone from India (older generation, parents etc) they'll all know who "Deepa Heera" was, his name used to put fear into everyone in Punjab but he was never publicised because he was a mona! which is a shame coz most of the Kharkoos were monae! i dont think there was anything wrong with what happened, if sangat think this would have been stopped by voting them out or talking to them.....then sorry - i dont wanna burst any bubbles...........but that doesnt work with these kind of people they needed a few slaps to wake them up and put a bit of fear into them to make sure they wouldnt doit again, fair enuf....some people may have gone a bit OTT but they needed to be taught a lesson i dont think the Gurdwara would have passed the resolution to not doit agian if the incident didnt happen!

these are the Gurdware we need to be sorting out, respect to all those chardi kala Singhs and Singhnia that went down and stopped the beadbi at Lemington! whats the Gurdwara stance now??? ....are they still holding these drinking sessions or have they stopped???

FATEH!!! But isn't that against the basic principle of SIKHI of being with SANGAT ?? I have known people doing bhagti, but that don't mean they cut themselves from the world. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was against this. wasn't he ??? GUR FATEH!! Guru Teg Bahadur did bhagti for 27yrs without seeing daylight! its not cutting off from sangat.....if people wanted to see them they cud but not when they were doing the bhagti! thats wen they were realising the true power of Waheguru! its all gud being in sangat but if want to open ur dasam dwar (tenth gate) its needs to be individual meditation!

singh 1983 is 100% correct. People who do nindya of mahaan Gursikhs have no kamai. By Mahann Gursikhs we refer to Gursikhs like Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Ji, Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh Ji, Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji,, Shaheed Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Manochal, Shaheed Bhai Shabaz Singh Ji, Shaheed Baba Gurbax Singh Ji (Banda Bahadhur), Shaheed Bhai Bota Singh Ji, Shaheed Bhai Garja Singh Ji, Shaheed Bhai Mehtab Singh Ji, Shaheed Bhai Sukha Singh Ji etc etc. However to lump an alleged woman abuser who openly flouts Akal Takht Hukumnama in with real Panthic gems (mahaan Gursikhs) shows how low standards have fallen and how low some people hold the sacrifices of TRUE mahaan Gursikhs. Where was Bheva when our brothers were being killed in Punjab, what aspects of the Saint Soldier did he exhibit during these dark years ? You are right lets unite. But to unite we need to all respect the Hukumnama of the Akal Takht which you obviously do not want to do. We can unite behind the banner of Miri Piri but not behind some sadh. Choice is yours. You are most welcome to drop the divisive stance on various things which are in direct contradiction to HUKUMNAMA issued by the Akal Takht and we can move forward BUT if you want to remain loyal to your sadh (as opposed to the TRUTH from the Akal Takht) then there is no way we can unite. after the attack in '84 Baba Mann Singh Started his 9 years of Bhagti.......what better way to conteract wat happened then by doing bhagti and then after 9yrs of no daylight in '93 started preaching the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

I thought that id wish every one a happy anniversary for Saheed Beant Singh, who was obtained shaeedi today, after taking the budla for the 84kulukaara out on Indra Gandhi. Beant singh along with Satwant singh and Kehar Singh today after carefull preperation did to Indra what she deserved. History teaches us that anyone that pays sacrilege to Harimander Sahib always faces the same fate. Lets use this day to remind us that we should not forget what happened only 22 years ago and ask our selves what are we doing to keep the memory of these shaeed Singh's alive. Not Just these Shaeed Singh's but those thousand of innocent brothers and sisters that were raped and murdered for being born into Sikh families in the Delhi riots. If it wasn't for the many thousand of shaeed's that our beautiful religion has given birth to, today we might be praying using prayer mats facing east. Those who had anything against Baba Mann Singh were given the chance to put forward what they had to the Sri Akaal Takht Sahib and the independent committee.......they had all of 2 months..........nothing substantial was given......... if these people wanted to get Baba Mann Singh and they had the proof - they had the perfect oppurtunity to ruin him at the HIGHEST AURTHORITY in sikhi, infront of the whole world...............now ask youselves why they didnt........BECAUSE THEY HAD NOTHING! any level headed person can see this! IF thats wat u believ then what kind of a gursikh are you??? the most noble and humble seva is that of jore di seva - cleaning the shoes of others and applying the dust of their feet to your forehead! i've stated so many times that nimrata is something that is lacking so much within our community - and the lack of it is the source of all our problems!! the above post jus proves it!

i must admit i have no proof that its true, but i've heard it a few times in katha at the gurdwara. can u prove it isnt?? whether the story is true or false i dont see anything wrong with it. its a good example to all of us!

i understand the arguements for ekta of all the panth.....and i respect the comments made by everyone on this thread ...... but we must all be aware - that when a few small things are changed they can end up leading to BIG changes in the future! everyone needs to be aware of this!
