children aged 6-15?? thats a significant age gap

altho sikhi doesnt come with age, it would probably be best to split the class up into 6-9 and 10-15 or something similar (if you have enough people to run the classes)

stuff that should definitely be covered:

+ 10 Gurus (basic info, and their contribution etc)

+ Sikh History (this will probably end up tieing in with the above quite alot)

+ Gurbani (how to do satkaar of Gurbani, hukamnameh, keertan/simran etc)

it would probably be best if you didnt sit and talk too much. limiting the use of powerpoint presentations could also be effective (if ur gonna use them keep them short, 4/5 slides max) try and keep it really light, humour is good and also a few pictures- limit the writing, just put down the essential stuff bullet pointed.

younger kids would probably respond better to activities such as making posters, doing presentations, jus stuff that is interactive rather than sitting and listening all the time (sitting and listening is good, just as long as its not excessive). keertan and simran to begin with and finish with.

another thing u could do is storytelling, but make it interesting. rather than sitting there jus telling a story, you could get someone to act bits out etc and do it outside on a sunny day. tell them a story and leave details out. like tell them a story about the sahibzadeh but dont actually say 'its about the sahibzadeh' then get them to find out who the story was about. then the kids come back the next week, and give their answers in on a piece of paper, and u pick out the right answers, put the in a box and pick out 2/3, and those people get prizes.

you could do a treasure hunt type thing. give the kids a piece of paper with about 10 or so questions on it, and the answer will leade them to a place in the building where a question will be left. they collect the question and answer it. the team who collects the most questions and answers them correctly wins and gets a sikhi related prize. if u prepared this beforehand it wouldnt take long, u could giv them about 30-35 mins. i know this has major flaws in it but it sounds like fun it may not work, but it was a cool idea lol

i remember a while back on the sweet sikhi radio slot a sevadar frm sevatothemax was talking about templates (or something to tht extent) for classes, so u could try getting in touch with them.
